Maybe the most 5 star review I've ever written. This restaurant is small but mighty. The service was family like, I felt like I had been welcomed into a Greek family! The chef even came out and checked in part way through our meal. I like Zorbas. The food is good. It's not mind-blowing, but tasty enough. I wasn't particularly fond of the rice. It wasn't what I'm used to eating or making when it comes to Greek rice. The meatballs were tasty and tender. The tzatziki and pita were good. The potatoes were also decent. The dolmades were my favorite part of the meal. They have Greek soda (pop) as well. I wanted to like the gyro. It looked good. It was lacking flavor, like the flavor disappeared in the reheat process...but the real disappointment was the spanakopita. Ordered three orders to go and a hummus to surprise my family, but the surprise was all mine. While the hummus was good, the spanakopitas were disappointing. Two tiny pieces rested in the styrofoam box with three compartments. Tzatziki, spanakopitas and the hero of the presentation was the pita bread. Huh? We finally tried Zorbas after hearing all the rave reviews and it absolutely lived up to the hype. This cozy little spot was buzzing with energy and nonstop takeout pickups, which was a good sign from the start. We kicked things off with the spanakopita, and wow this was hands-down the star of the meal. Perfectly crispy, and savory. I wish the portion was bigger because I wanted more! For dinner, I had the lamb gyro. The meat was sliced thin just how I like it, with authentic spices that really hit the mark. The pita was soft, and fresh. My husband went with the chicken gyro and enjoyed it, though he wished they used white meat instead of dark. I was especially happy to see a kids menu. We ordered the kids chicken gyro platter, and it was generous enough to feed an adult! It came with a full pita, a hearty portion of chicken, rice, and a cucumber-tomato side all for just $8. Great value. Despite only having one server, he was attentive and handled the busy flow with grace. You can tell the restaurant's been around a while and could use a deep clean, but honestly, the food makes up for it. We ordered a chicken gyro and a spinach pie platter. I really liked the spinach pie, yet the chicken gyro was ok, well, it was good but ... you get it. These dishes came with a non-lettuce salad which is a twist on a Greek salad, and I did miss the romaine lettuce. We got a Greek lemonade soda which is a first for me, it was good. This is a quaint place, about 6 tables. Service may be a bit slow, so get an appetizer. The waitress was amazing though, she had really good recommendations. But this places reminds me to tell y'all to go eat local because Zorba's takes the time to bring you authentic and fresh Mediterranean food that doesn't compromise its value for the sake of crowd pleasing. They have daily and weekly specials so you can always try something new and even serve drinks traditional to the region. The only thing this place is missing is a bigger parking lot. read more

The guys who run the place are also very knowledgeable about their menu, they had no problem describing the dishes that we weren't familiar with. The name Zorba means live each day with passion. It is clear that Zorba Kitchen's passion is in the food - especially on Mondays and Tuesdays, when they serve pastitsio. This special also known as Greek lasagna is only available Monday and Tuesday. I called ahead a little after 5 pm and reserved the last special available that day. This is a very popular entree. My meal consisted of the pastitsio which is sheets of pasta, layered with meat sauce, and a creamy béchamel, then baked. It was served with a salad (tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers and olives) and a dollop of hummus alongside grilled pita bread. I took home part of the large portion so I had lunch the next day. This restaurant is located in a strip mall at the corner of Lake Underhill and Goldenrod. The seating area is just a handful of tables but is bright and very clean. I chose to eat in and the owner was very attentive and checked a few times if I needed anything. I really enjoyed my meal and look forward to going back for another classic Greek entree, moussaka, which is an eggplant dish, served only on Fridays and Saturdays. read more

Absolutely one of the best meals and experiences I've had as of recent! I've heard the name floating around and decided to stop by and try for dinner. We shared an appetizer and meat platter which was full of tender, flavorful meat, hot pita, 2 dips, and spinach pastries. Everything tasted incredible and felt like a homey comfort meal-- especially the spinach pies and meats. The price is also extremely reasonable for the portion, which may seem small compared to other restaurant but ends up being the perfect amount to have a satisfying meal. Zorba's Kitchen is located in a ratger nondescript shopping plaza on the corner of Goldenrod and Lake Underhill and I will say that getting in and out of this shopping plaza is a bit inconvenient (okay, maybe more than a bit of an inconvenience), but I will say that the food and wonderfully warm service makes it a worthwhile inconvenience. Walking in, I noticed that Zorba's Kitchen is an extremely small restaurant. But it was bright and while nothing even close to fancy, it was pleasant enough. The gentleman who took my to-go order was extremely friendly. I went with two lamb gyro dinners and for the one side, for one, I went with Greek potatoes and the other, I went with their hand-cut French fries. When I got home, I tore into the gyro and was pretty impressed. I tried both the Greek potatoes and the French fries. I thought both were good, but I think that I preferred the hand-cut French fries. I would definitely recommend Zorba's Kitchen and I will give it five stars overall. read more

The best thing about this place is Dave. He was welcoming, knowledgeable and quick. I had the moussaka (my first time) and it was delicious. The chicken&lemon soup was large, had real chunks of what looked like hand pulled chicken. It was pretty good. The greek salad was good, and so was the lamb gyro. The only thing I wish was that the temp of the food was hotter. First time here and would stop by next time we're in the neighborhood. read more

We have been coming to Zorba's (and ordering take out cause it's so dang good) for the past few years and it is absolutely one of our favorite Greek restaurants in central Florida. Our favorite entree is the chicken gyro. When I tell you, the PITA is so fluffy and delicious (I could eat it by itself!), the chicken is seasoned perfectly (consistently) and juicy, the tomato and everything else in it is so good too. It was Thursday, so my wife had the chicken and Greek potatoes. It was really good. I had the spanakopita and tzatziki. This may be the very best I have ever had. The spanakopita seemed like it was just made. It was incredible and not from the freezer. It was incredibly flavorful, light and flaky and the sauce was really good too. Quaint little place bursting with flavor and excellent service. Billy, our server was welcoming and knowledgeable. The Chef checked on us, as well, then proceeded to bus a table. We also spotted him as we were getting in our car walking through the parking lot of the strip mall to deliver a takeout order to a neighboring business. Chef does it all and we loved to see it. The food was exceptional. We had the gyro platter with extra salad and a chicken skewer platter with small Greek salad and feta fries. The chicken was oh so tender and the tzatziki was the best I've ever had. We live about an hour away otherwise this would be a weekly treat for our family. Stopped in for dinner with a friend on a Saturday night and OH MY GOSH was this amazing! It's a small little locally owned shop in a shopping center, and you have to try it! I got the Chicken Skewer Platter ($14.49) and the chicken was so juicy. The tzatziki paired perfectly with it, as did the fluffy pita. The side of greek salad with it was super yummy too. The rice wasn't my favorite because it was a little oily, but there was plenty of other amazing food on that plate to make up for it. My friend tried the Lamb Gyro ($10.29) and was equally impressed. She got the side of Greek Potatoes ($2.99) as well but didn't love them. Definitely stick to the main dishes here I think! The man and woman working (I assume the owners) were very sweet and brought out the food quickly and still hot. Good food in Orlando is not something that's easy to find. Sure you can get fast food anywhere but eventually you get to the point where quality matters more than anything. Zorba's Kitchen is a local spot that's quite low key. It's still pretty much a brand new restaurant in the area but the people have spoken. They have some great lunch and dinner options. I've been there a few times in the past few weeks and today it's time for me to share my thoughts. In short this is a great place to grab something to eat. It's not a large location so I recommend take-out rather than dining in. There may be around 10 tables inside and on my last visit there were 4 people who were eating lunch. I had the Gyro, Gyro platter with rice and salad, and some of their pasta dishes Greek Pastitsio and Moussaka. I've tried their Greek French Fries and Seasoned potatoes as sides. All of the dishes were great and really have that authentic flavor. I really like the Gyro Pita Combo. Not much else to say. Take a look at the menu as there are some things available only on certain days of the week. For fresh made food in the area, you simply can't go wrong. Oh also their Tzatziki sauce is Top Tier. I've heard good things about this place so I gave it a try. I ordered takeout on a rainy day. For my entree, I got the chicken gyro with a side of fries. It had grilled dark meat chicken with tomatoes, lettuce, and tzatziki sauce. The only thing I could have done without was that it was a bit greasy, but I think it was because I ordered it to go so it sat for a little bit before I ate it. It still was pretty tasty though. The fries were seasoned and sprinkled with feta. I also ordered the hummus with pita and a small Greek salad. The Greek salad has a nice blend of cucumbers, tomatoes, olives and feta. My son and I ventured out today and decided to check out a new spot. Zorbas Kitchen is located where my beloved Meatball Stoppe was formerly located. They serve up delicious homemade Mediterranean and Greek dishes. We started off with the Platter Zorbas which came with a sampling of 4 different appetizers. Tzatziki. Hummus, olives, taramosalata, spinach pie and pita. My son had the Greek Meatball platter and I chose the lamb skewer platter. Both were very good! Although some of the pieces of lamb was tough. We ended our meal with dessert - Greek Kataifi and Baklava Cheesecake (not pictured). We washed it down with delicious Greek sodas. It was all very good and we left happy! read more
