I've wanted to try The Chef's Table for a very long time, and it absolutely did not disappoint. From the moment we sat down, everything reflected an elegance that's hard to find in this area -- crisp white tablecloths, attentive service, and a calm, intimate atmosphere that makes you slow down and savor. Each course was presented beautifully and cooked to perfection, full of rich flavor and balance. The attention to detail, from the trio of spreads and freshly baked bread to the soups and entrées, felt thoughtful and refined. You can tell the chefs take real pride in every plate they send out. The service is always so accommodating and helpful in choosing what you want to tickle your palate. And the atmosphere is cozy, relaxing and romantic. I love this place, it's three in one. Italian, steakhouse and wine dining. The Italian meals I've had there have been fantastic and very authentic but my favorite is the steakhouse. You can set at the curved kitchen bar where you can watch your meals being prepared right in front of you. Or you can sit in the old school dark and classy bar area which I prefer . I personally like the duck. Few places have the ability to cook duck correctly, but they nailed it. It's also one of the few places in this area that you don't feel out of place if you wear a sportcoat. I highly recommend it. I might also suggest their Italian bakery next to their wine restaurant. Service started with complimentary bread with 3 spreads; a soft compound butter, a pesto and a roasted garlic. The sommelier recommended a nice red for me, and my husband had a Basil Hayden manhattan with sweet vermouth which was executed nicely. Next my husband tried the shrimp cocktail which were very good size, chilled nicely and fresh. Sauce was great. Next course he had the lobster bisque which he said was one of the best he's had. I had the tomato mozzarella which I expected to be steakhouse tomato and mozzarella sliced, but was mozzarella balls and halved cherry tomatoes with a balsamic dressing. I didn't read the description so that may be my bad. It was fine. For entrees, my husband had a New York prepared medium, which came out to temp appropriately. I had the Delmonico medium rare, and mine was to temp also, which I was very pleased since so often my steak has been overdone at so many places I have tried here in Brevard. Both steaks were served with green beans, and my husband ordered a Bearnaise on the side, and my steak was prepared with a balsamic reduction which was balanced nicely with the seasoning. We were carb heavy on sides because we were with another couple so we tried the garlic mashed, the au gratin potatoes and the lobster mac and cheese. All were delicious and my husband said the lobster mac was excellent with huge chunks of lobster. We were all too full for dessert, and all went home with leftovers. The service was attentive and pacing was on point. The ambience was great, with soft lighting and a wine cellar decor. The open kitchen design gives great confidence that your food is prepared in a clean, professional kitchen. There is even an overhead camera that is playing on a tv screen so you can see the dishes freshly prepared. The only negative was as the dining room filled with more bodies, it did get a little warm inside, but I never brought it to anyone's attention, so I can't deduct for something I never gave them a chance to remedy. Not to mention it's July in Florida. I would probably ask for a table in the bar room or east room if you run hot like me and my middle age body. All in all, great food and great service and we will definitely return. read more

Nothing here was outstanding..including the service. We have been to finer dining all across the US and The Chef's Table leaves a lot to be desired. The Prosciutto Wrapped Mozzarella was mediocre at best and the Wedge salad was good but not notable. We each had the Bone-In Ribeye. We asked for it to be charred but it was not the least bit charred. The flavor was good but my husband's was tough and he could not eat it. They offered to send the manager over but by that point we were ready to leave. I brought mine home but he just left his. I am sad to say that we cannot recommend this restaurant..especially since it is a locally owned establishment. read more

What an unexpected gem we stumbled upon. We sat with a view of the two chefs, I loved watching them work it is a form of art. We started off with a few cocktails not pictured I had their dirty martini and it was amazing definitely one of the best I'd ever had. We were then served warm break with different butters. A nice start before we got into our meal. The steak was phenomenal. It's something you want to savor but also devour the minute it's placed in from of you. We have a new entrant in the Big Boy's Top 5 Restaurants in Brevard, The Chef's Table, self-described on Yelp as a "Prime Steakhouse that specializes in Angus Brand Prime Beef, fresh seafood and local produce." Prior to visiting this Suntree establishment, I thought of David Dashi--executive chef and owner of Amici's Italian Restaurant next door--as just another local restauranteur along the lines of Brano's Italian Grill in Cocoa Beach, and Alfredo's Paradiso Kitchen in Merritt Island, both of whom talk a good game, but sell poorly-prepared, low-quality ingredients for exorbitant prices. That said, I was promised by a prominent food purveyor that unlike Dashi's other clip joints, food at The Chefs Table consists of only high-quality ingredients. They were not wrong. The fare here is top shelf and properly prepared. The Chef's Table also offers a panoply of quality craft potables. Having fallen off the wagon last month, I ordered a Rye Manhattan cocktail. The Manhattan is a tricky drink, as the overuse of bitters can throw it off. However, this cocktail was lovingly prepared by Brevard County's top waiter, David Denny, who was manning the bar that evening. I had requested this talented garçon as my server, but occupied as he was offering up laudable libations, our waiter for the evening ended up being Chad. What Chad lacked in charisma, he made up for in efficiency, knowledge, and exuberant attention to detail. The table started off with Fresh Burrata and Tuna Carpaccio, which produced an exquisite palate punch from the fried capers. Yes, you heard me correctly, fried capers. Absolute genius! For my entrees, I picked 12-ounce New York Strip, rare and the Pan-Seared Scallops served with Wild Mushroom Risotto. The bed of creamy risotto on which the scallops were layered was divine. The only weakness in this entire meal was the size of the scallops. For forty smackers, I want to see jumbo scallops. However, the preparation was on point with a crisp delicate crust. For sides, we ordered the Lobster Mac 'N' Cheese, Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Smoked Bacon, Fresh Creamed Spinach, and Oven-Roasted Beets with Goat Cheese. Came here tonight for the first time with my uncle. I've been saying I wanted tot try this place for a few years. As soon as we came in we were greeted and seated. I wasn't sure what to expect. But I had one thing on my mind and that was steak. The waiter shared with us the special for the night...and all I heard was the KC Strip Steak with Gorgonzola Mash Potatoes. All steak here are prime cuts. And so I ordered the KC steak, Medium Well. Chef Jamie was in the kitchen and he didnt disappoint. The steak was Amazing (with a capital "A"). The flavor was consistent through out the whole steak, it was moist, had a good char on both sides. The mash potatoes was great and had good flavor. As well as the fresh string beans. This was a 28 oz steak about 1.75" thick and I finished it all. So I didn't have any room for dessert. But hey I was cool with that. Props to Chef Jamie for an amazing experience my first time here. Went there recently on a Friday night. We had a 7:30 reservation and were seated immediately. We were served water and a menu and were told that Denise would be our server and would be over soon. Well, at 8:00 another server came over to ask if Denise got our drink order. No! He took our order and eventually brought it over and asked again if Denise got our food order? NO!!! Who and where is Denise?????? Two of us ordered the filet medium which came out mostly rare. The lobster Mac was good though. We knew going in that it would be a pricey meal but it was a birthday dinner so we wanted something special. HOWEVER, there was 3 of us and one person did not order alcohol and we had no dessert. Our tab was $450.00 !!! We had 2 cocktails, a $49 bottle of wine, 2 filets, a lamb chop, 1 Ceasar salad, truffle fries and a mediocre steak tartare. Will NOT be recommending or returning! read more

Not one to leave a bad review. The food that we received was Great. Service on the other hand was on the level of a Denny's on a bad day. We sat at the kitchen counter with a first hand view of the kitchen which was nice and somewhat entertaining. We ordered one glass of wine, 2 bowls of French onion soup, 2 entrees and a side of beets. The glass of wine was awkwardly delivered by our apparently frazzled server with apparent limited fine dining experience. Eventually another server in the kitchen noticed me staring at the server station and after about 10 minutes brought over two pieces of bread. In the meantime our server was mostly standing at the plating station apologizing to the chief for "f*cking up" someone else's order of lobster ravioli I believe by forgetting to put it in. Other than that he was pulling out his wallet and counting out money while standing at the plating station. Looked like he didn't want to be there at all. The next time we saw our server at our table was about 20 minutes later when he briefly came by and grabbed our bread plates. Didn't ask how we were doing or if we would be interested in more bread. About that time We could see and hear the chief finishing up our lamb and duck. Took a couple minutes even though he was just standing there 10 feet away, but flagged him over and asked about the soups. He mumbled something, and as our dinner was in the process of being plated, still no soup. It didn't get any better from there. read more

This used to be our favorite restaurant in Viera but our opinion has changed over time. Tonight we went for a delayed Valentine dinner as a family and we were disappointed. I'll begin with a positive note that our waiter was wonderful and very attentive. But the food portions are becoming less and less and the prices are getting higher and higher, and now there is a surcharge of $7 for using a credit card. Our bill was astronomical and in our minds felt like a waste of our money. I'm attaching pictures to show how my steak was delivered on this huge plate with nothing. It was just lonely on the plate. You are forced to buy shared sides and when they come it's enough for only one person. We enjoy eating out at nice restaurants and when an entrée comes with sides, they are the same portion as this shared side which is supposed to be for two people. It becomes obvious that you're cutting down on your costs by limiting quantities and charging more and adding surcharges and it becomes a huge turn off that makes you not want to go back. There's nothing special here - They don't give you anything special they don't do anything extra they give you a tablespoons worth of oil for the entire table to eat with their bread and it feels very chintzy, and for such a highline high price restaurant, that is really unfortunate. So, we're done. And I would have to imagine that a lot of other people will come to the same conclusion before long. read more

They have a dark bar when entering which is fantastic if you're looking for something relaxing and romantic. In case you missed it, they don't have Jim Beam. The service was top notch. Always on top of your every need. 5 stars for service. The food was fantastic. The little bread loaves they bring you are delicious as well as the 3 "dips" that come with. The lobster bisque was some of the best I've ever had. The filet was like butter and delicious. The lamb was tender and delicious. The lobster Mac & Cheese was amazing! AMAZING! The scalloped potatoes were very good but eclipsed by the Mac & Cheese. The place is pricey but the service and food is fantastic. In case you missed it, they don't have Jim Beam. First time at The Chefs table Wednesday nigh, went with a group of friends. The ambiance was beautiful, smells were heavenly and everyone that greeted us was happy and friendly. I ordered a glass of Pinot noir, it was freshly opened and really nice for a by the glass wine. We started with perfectly prepared warm Italian rolls, served with trays of lavender butter, pesto and roasted garlic, best way to start a meal. I had a Caesar salad, can't go wrong, then had the special, a snapper beautifully seasoned and seared with delish lobster risotto, large yummy chunks of lobster tail, absolutely delicious! I ended my meal with tiramisu, it was so good! Being Italian I not only appreciate great food but this was so much more! The owners wife a beautiful young woman came over at the end to check on everyone and make sure everyone's palette was completely satisfied, she was so genuine and truly cared! The food was okay/good and the service was very good. The problem is their credit card fee. Our dinner for 4 was $575.00, which was more than expected. We didn't realize the Aged NY Strip Steak special was a $90 entree. We gave our credit card and then they added over $17.00 for a 3% surcharge fee. We were not aware that they were going to charge a fee to use a credit card. It might say that in small print somewhere, but we certainly were not advised by the staff that that would happen. It seems like greed. You would think that they could afford to pay the credit card fee out of a $575 dinner. I could see and hear the waiter when he was telling the on-duty manager that I was displeased with the fee. There was only one other table in the restaurant. The manager choose to ignore it and walked away without speaking to us. We won't be returning. My biggest regret was about 7 weeks ago, I suggested the adjoining Amici's Italian restaurant for a group of 12. I didn't see the bill, but I am sure it was in the $1,500-$2,000 range. They charge the fee there as well. I know credit card processing costs money, but that cost is part of owning a business. It would have been better if they were upfront with the fee, but I still don't believe it should happen. read more

This review is based on other fine dining restaurants that I have been to in the past. When walking into the establishment, I was greeted by an intimate, dimly but romantically lit dining room with an open kitchen. As a single diner, I opted to sit at the open kitchen bar. The kitchen had two to three cameras zoomed in on different areas of the kitchen so that diners can see everything on the large monitor screen that the chef and the kitchen staff are doing live. As always, I asked for recommendations from the staff. At the time the chef had specials for appetizers and entree, both of which I opted for. To start, I went with the Bronzed Shrimp with Citrus-Tarragon Creme Fraiche. When the dish came out, it looked amazing! You can see the carmelization on the shrimp, the green of the vegetables it rested on screamed fresh, and the creme fraiche was artistically delivered across the plate. My first bite of the shrimp was magical to say the least. The carmelization was there, and all the flavors worked in harmony. The flavors from the shrimp along with the creme fraiche and the vegetables worked so perfectly that I would categorize that dish as a well synchronized symphony. I opted for the 8 oz CAB Prime Filet Mignon and the Oven Roasted Caribbean Lobster Tail "Surf and Turf" as my entree. During the preparation, cooking process, and plating it was clear to me that the chef put a lot of attention into that dish. Even during the plating process, the chef didn't seem happy with the dish initially and re-plated it before serving it to me. Seeing that was a demonstration of this chef's impeccable attention to detail. It also demonstrated that the chef isn't willing to serve anything that he wouldn't put his reputation on. The first impression of this dish was "simple" and "minimalist". There were no distractions on the plate - it was simply the filet mignon, the lobster tail, and a patch of well executed carrots. My first bite into this dish put a smile on my face. The steak was cooked perfectly with well balanced flavors. It wasn't too salty nor too bland - it was perfect and balanced. Paired with the lobster, the dish was a match made in heaven. The dish also came with some carrots that were very well executed - the flavors from which, supplemented the rest of the dish perfectly. I've dined at a few Michelin rated restaurants, and I can say that the dishes I experienced at The Chef's Table are indistinguishable, if not better, from similar dishes I've had at those Michelin rated restaurants. This establishment may be pricey, but the culinary experience you get is worth so much more. Highly recommend! read more

It had virtually no lobster pieces -- but lots of onions (?) -- and was the smallest portion of any soup I've ever been served in a restaurant. This is our 3rd time returning a steak in the last nine months. Actually, tonight we returned two and I just ate potatoes and asparagus. The first steak looked like a charcoal briquette (I ordered a medium filet) and my second was absolutely rare. I gave up. My husband's ribeye was cooked to order so he enjoyed his steak while i watched. We moved from DC three years ago so our go-to steak places were Capital Grille, Oceanaire, Morton's, Ruth's Chris, and Fleming's. We always look for that here and cannot find it. We were at the bar overlooking the cooking and commented my steak was burning and the waiter laughed. We watched a Chef crowd a pan with 12 scallops to sear and of course the outside four were not properly done: they sent all three plates out though one looked undercooked and out of order. I mentioned to that waitress that they weren't done properly as she carried them by: when she came back she said "that's why I never order scallops out." read more

A hidden gem! I had heard that this was one of the best restaurants in the county. From the outside, in an unassuming strip mall, you'll walk through the door into another world. Once inside, Adrian greeted us from behind the bar and began this amazing experience. The wine recommendations were spot on, as was the entire experience in the lounge. Marc took care of us in the dining room, and although he was helping other diners, he made us feel as if we were his only customers. Never hovering, but always there when we needed something. And the food!!! The appetizer was an amazing plate of perfectly cooked sea scallops with a white sauce that complimented the scallops deliciously. For our entree, we chose the special, a huge filet, wrapped in bacon, stuffed with lump crab, cooked to perfection. It was served over asparagus and mashed potatoes. We were too satisfied (but not over full) to enjoy dessert, but we moved back to the lounge and enjoyed Adrian's custom Patron coffee martini that closed the experience to perfection. It was such a surprise to walk out and be back in a Suntree strip mall. We felt truly transported. I've been to some of the best restaurants in the country.
