She noticed I didn't eat a good portion of my steak, which was by no means cheap. She asked, and wanted the honest truth. So I told her it was good except for the middle portion (it was overcooked and underwhelming in taste). Party of seven. Restaurant was quiet on a Wednesday. Knew what we wanted and ready to order. We were sat and drink order coming out a bit slower than expected. Should have known at that point. Ordered our meals and then we waited. We were all catching up and then we noticed 45 minutes had passed and nothing. Server came by and said it was working. Salads appear and then we wait and wait and after an hour and 15 minutes after placing order a manager comes over at our request. Apparently if the server doesn't actually submit your food order it doesn't get made. Asa result our order was now stacked up behind the now full restaurant of orders. Long story short they "expedited" our food as it came out about five minutes later. Now the food was good. My mom loved her shrimp and all the rest liked their steaks. Manager said she would extend us something for our trouble. Comped the cheapest entree (14 bucks) and 20 in gift cards. Pretty weak in my opinion for a 200+ dollar check and an over 1.5 hour wait to get served entrees. Apologetic and all but still second poor performance in last two visits. I have not been to an Outback Steakhouse in...well it's been a long time. I am pleased to say that while I have a hard time giving it 5 stars it was an enjoyable dinner out with my husband. I just find that when it comes to chain restaurants they all look the same no matter which branch you go to. What did stand out was the service that Oliver provided to us. He noticed that I was on my phone trying to look up a gluten free menu and went and grabbed me one. He was very attentive to when our drinks were empty and even that it maybe took a little bit longer for our food than normal. He made sure to be communicating that he was checking on it. That kind of service is what stands out. The food was also delicious! I am not a big steak eater so I did get chicken but the lemon cream sauce on that chicken was to die for. read more

I ordered my chimichuri steak with the loaded Brussel sprouts as a side. The Brussel sprouts were amazing and the steak was the perfect temperature (medium) just as o ordered. The only thing I wish was better was the chimichurri sauce. It needed a lot more chopped cilantro and less of a vinegar taste but that's just my preference. We went to Outback Melbourne Fl today at lunchtime. Our server Tyler H ignored us for 10 mInutes then brought menus and came back later on to take outer order. the soup was barely warm and it took 15 minutes to be replaced. The entrees were barely warm and the 8 ounce Blooming Burger was tasty but I doubt it was 8 ounces. Fries were limp. Tyler the server never filled our obviously empty water glasses up unless we grabbed him as he went past us. No dishes were cleared from our table during the 3 course meal. had one of the worst dining experiences at Outback Steakhouse. We were seated and waited over 20 minutes without a single person coming by to take our drink order or even acknowledge us. During that time, at least 10 servers walked past our table without saying a word. I could clearly see them all in the back chatting with the managers instead of helping guests. The restaurant was not even busy--maybe 4 other tables were seated--so there was no excuse for the lack of service. What a visit! Sadly, Hurricane Ian has wreaked havoc on so many. Most of us were very fortunate, but others.... The Review. Sorry, it's a long one. I sense everyone is unwinding post Ian. I busted my backside today doing a 6-hour clean-up. Just me. Wash up and head out for a late dinner, I chose Outback because I knew EXACTLY what I was hankering for. I wanted an 8-ounce sirloin with the add-on Blooming Shrimp, baked tater and salad. Excellent craving. Swung that big door open, walked through that little airlock between two sets of doors. I was greeted very cordially. Then came a sincere "We have a limited menu tonight due to our provisions truck was wiped out by the hurricane!" Wow! She started to show me the limited menu, but I just gave her my verbal order aloud. With each menu item I spoke, she nodded Yes, we have that. So, I'm in. I got served by one of those rare servers. I can't really explain it, but she just instinctively knew my needs. It was good chemistry. Her name is Ashley. She's from Indiana. Shout out girl! My food was EXACTLY what i had envisioned! The appearance. The portion sizes. And now the big test. Drum roll. First bite, I bit into one of those Blooming Shrimp. Imagine a Blooming Onion but ADD in a sweet shrimp surprise. Man oh Man! Mwahahah! Su-weet! My steak was perfect temp of mid rare. The seasoning rub truly enhanced the natural flavors of the meat without inducing chemical overload. A commercial enters your mind and you keep hearing the Aussie accent. G'Day, Mate! Now, imagine hearing that same voice, but it's coming from a dining table 12 feet away. A table of 4 guys. The guy farthest away but facing my way is the one I hear. In a baritone accented voice. Definitely Australian. Suddenly, I feel like I've dissolved into a virtual recurring Outback commercial! I'm eating in Outback. Hearing a guy talking. He sounds just like the spokesman in their commercials. This is a hoot! I post about it to my friends. I query them if I should ask that guy to say, "No Rules, Just Right!" Knowing me, I sorta did just that. I got up, walked over to them, excused my interruption. Told them about this phenomenon I was experiencing. They loved it! We talked for probably 20 minutes. Joel, a cool blonde server, took a selfie of the guys with me. I was at the end of their table. She got a great shot! These guys are pilots and are here for a quick training, then off they go. It was a once in a lifetime encounter, one which I will truly cherish. My partner and I arrived early on a Tuesday evening before the dinner rush. We waited a bit to be seated in an empty dining room and really were not thrilled to be sitting next to the kitchen. But hey, if you get your food faster why not? We got bread and drinks right away. They were very good and market priced. We waited a little bit for the blooming onion. It was tasty, but greasy. We couldn't finish it between the two of us. We decided we should have just got salad and the onion, no meal. It was too much food. The salads came and they were nice size and hearty. I love a good salad. I couldn't finish mine. It was delicious. I ordered the Tuesday special, lobster and steak with 2 sides. Yes, I took it home. It was delicious. I ordered my steak rare and it was perfect. My lobster was tender not rubbery. Beautiful job! My partner loved his steak as well. He had it done well done. The cheesecake gets a thumbs up as well. The side of mashed potatoes that I ordered had no flavor and needed to be salted. That was the only flaw. Service was excellent. Business picked up as time progressed and it became quite busy. We decided to give it one more try, on a positive note our waitress was phenomenal, very attentive and professional! We started with the [Mac n Cheese Bites], they are served with ranch instead of marinara. They were good, but are definitely unique to Outback as I would say the cheese has little hints of a Smokey flavor. They were good but I probably would not order again compared to other appetizers they have. The [Blooming Chicken] was perfectly cooked! Can't go wrong with anything "blooming". (They're limited time blooming shrimp appetizer is very good). Sadly there was not much positive to say about the [Kingsland Pasta]. The pasta was undercooked and the shrimp was very over cooked. In light - the steak (prepared medium) was very good! But I can't say I would order this again. My friend and I stopped in for dinner Monday night and got an exceptional welcome. All of the white staff were congenial and friendly and literally been over backwards to make sure that we enjoyed our meal. It was a relaxing atmosphere and the drinks that were purchased from the bar were top-notch, I got a cucumber and vodka concoction that was absolutely delicious. And my friends burger came, and it was not done as requested. They were extremely apologetic and erased to bring her freshman that was done to perfection all in all it was a lovely experience and I would certainly like to thank, the manager, Michael Muska for his attentiveness to not only us, but everyone that he greeted as they came in. My neice ordered a salmon caesar salad. The salmon was seasoned quite nicely and served on top of the salad. A nice size peice , you could add salmon, chicken or shrimp. I think she made an excellent choice. So did our server. The point system changed as of May 1, 2022 but l did have enough points to get 20 dollars off our meal. My dad and I love Outback Steakhouse. Before the pandemic, we would frequent this restaurant for dinner. The customer service was always top notch. The staff is friendly and the food was always delicious. However since the pandemic, my dad hasn't felt comfortable dining out. He also didn't think he could duplicate the experience of eating at Outback at home. When his birthday came, I decided to surprise him with his favorite food from Outback. I called ahead and ordered one of their new family bundles. The one I selected came with the Victoria filet, coconut shrimp, salad, mashed potatoes and bread for 4 people at $80. They also had a bundle for 6 people at $130. In addition, I ordered the blooming onion, the French onion soup, a baked potato soup, and a sweet potato as a side. Honestly, I was a little worried if this would be enough food for everyone and how it would taste once I brought it home. But everything was delicious and we had leftovers. My dad was super happy. For those who lived in Palm Bay and Melbourne, FL for some time now, we remember Outback Steakhouse being located at the northeast quadrant of the most dangerous intersection in Brevard County, Palm Bay Rd. and Babcock St. So when they closed down, we were sad. Fortunately, they reopened with a new location on US-192 on Melbourne Square Mall property. The question is if they were still just as good as they were when they first came on the scene. Sadly, that is a negative for me. As mentioned above, Outback Steakhouse (which I will shorthand to simply "Outback"for the rest of the review) is one of the five major restaurants just south of Melbourne Square Mall on their property. Compared to their more rustic decor from their previous location, this Outback was more modern. Despite this, it was still beautiful and thankfully clean which includes the restrooms. The service was very good too. Where Outback falls short is with their food. I remember a time when the food looked like the commercials on television. Now they seem to be quite pathetic. It is like cooks were uninspired or unmotivated in prepping. At least the food was good enough. To make the lackluster food worse is the fact the price is quite high. I do not expect to pay $15 to $20 for a mediocre steak. Ergo, that combo is why I am giving this Outback three out of five stars. That does make me sad because the serving staff were great, but ultimately I come for food. I might give them another chance to see if they improved. The last thing I want to do is give them a condemning like I did their fellow Melbourne Square Mall restaurant Red Robin. read more

On a day trip to Melbourne we stopped off for lunch. Our expectations were similar to our previous experiences from other Outbacks we have visited before; the food is consistent, which is pretty good. We were absolutely blown away by or server, Kassandra A. She was very attentive and polite, even talked and engaged with our girls, which they enjoyed. When we explained we were visiting from out of the area she was nice enough to converse with us a little while about the area from her personal experiences growing up there. The food was even better than the other Outbacks we had frequented. The girl's mac and cheese was creamy and "extra cheesy" and my steak was cooked to perfection. My wife had the creamy onion soup which was outstanding! All of the staff was nice, friendly, and very inviting. When I was unable to locate the restroom a staff member noticed, stopped what they were doing, and came over to direct me (or save my stupid self) and was very nice and had a pleasant smile that gleamed from under their mask. The whole experience was an unexpected surprise and we plan to make our way there again on our next house hunting adventure. read more

Didn't offer to check on any other options. 12 min. later, my husband went to the bar to get the beers we'd ordered. That were sitting on the bar. The manager, Steven, heard we'd been waiting. Apologized for the delay. Had different people bring our beers, our appetizer, our salad and our entrees. Not one cleared previous plates. Small booth for 2 and we are stacking our dishes. The times we saw our waitress, she said she couldn't wait to go home. We were her last table. She wanted to cash out. Told us about her commute time. In our 90 minutes there, we had 4 loud birthday celebrations nearby. Although we used to go to Outback at least once a week when we lived in Syracuse, we vowed never to return to the Palm Bay location. But the food was good and Steven was amazing and listened intently to our feedback, sent us home with a dessert. That made all the difference. Nice place to eat near the mall. This is located as a stand-alone building in front of the Melbourne Square Mall off US-192. There is plenty of parking around the structure and in the adjacent mall parking lot. The building has indoor and outdoor seating. You enter and are greeted and asked for the number in your party. We were seated quickly. Service was a little slow but the waitress was one of the very few in the restaurant and had about 7 tables. She was very efficient and pleasant. We ordered a steak sandwich and salad and a french onion soup. They were all excellent and good-sized portions. I took half my sandwich home and had it for dinner. The prices were reasonable, the space was clean and, the atmosphere was pleasant. It was a little cold inside the restaurant. This is a popular place for lots of reasons so I would suggest going early for dinner or calling to see how busy they are. We got there early and by the time we left, there was a waiting line. An alternative is to eat in the bar as it was first-come-first-served but ask if that is still their policy. Overall, it was a very nice visit, with good food and pleasant staff. read more
