The restaurant at the Doubletree hotel is a nice place to have breakfast. Nothing special but you don't have to leave the hotel. Clearly the $16 buffet is the deal to get. you have to go to the outside tiki bar to order dinner. The ambience of the tiki bar is gloomy, and secluded/dark which was surprising. Mashed potatoes were good. My soda was flat, don't get the soda out of the gun at the bar. If you can help it, the salmon was completely flavorless and dry. For the price they charge you would expect much much better quality of food. I called for a dessert and the person in the restaurant was urging me to check out the packaged, frozen desserts by check in. And told me there are a lot of ice cream parlors around. When I expressed I wanted a warm desert. He said well we just throw our lava cake in the microwave for 40 seconds. Prices need to reflect this type of quality food. Once again I should warn you in advance that service here is horrendous. I did not have the breakfast buffet. I ordered off the menu. In this particular instance I ordered the spicy eggs Benedict. It comes with salsa and hash browns. I liked the originality of the paprika to kick things up a notch. The hash browns were grilled well, the eggs were cooked properly. The salsa was standard out of a jar. My server was a lovely lady named Laura. She was deeply in over her head. The dish tasted fine. There were no execution errors. This is just average. If you are staying at the hotel and see my review, The Big Boy will tell you there are better places close to this if you don't want a short drive then eat here. It's average. read more

We were coming to town to have a traditional Thanksgiving dinner with family, so we chose the Sea Grape at the Doubletree hotel on Melbourne Beach, Fl. The entire experience was very disappointing. The price of $25/plate was reasonable for a nice seated meal, our seating was only where we saw all the people checked in and out of the front door, no were near a view of the ocean or even the pool! I can say it was not too noisy so we could easily have a nice conversation at our meal. But that's where any kudos end. The meal was what I'd consider mediocre at best. Every element looked and tasted as if it had come from a school cafeteria. Basic thin sliced white meat turkey ( could have come from deli counter) mashed potatoes that tasted like instant made with water, turkey gravy that could have come out of a jar, stuffing that tasted like Stove Top with no additions. Then a piece of baked frozen pumpkin pie. NO bread, no cranberry sauce, no salad of any sort, nor drink. If you wanted even a glass of tea or coffee, that was an additional $4. Then to top off the mediocrity, they automatically added a 22% gratuity to any sized party. Our first experience ever with having our Thanksgiving meal out makes us realize why we won't do it again or we'll wait in the line outside The Cracker Barrel! read more

The food was mediocre I did enjoy the Caprese salad however I had to send the Cesar back because of the taste, and the key lime pie tasted like it was from a box going sour. When referring to the ambiance of the "restaurant" it's a hotel lobby with chairs and booths and a fountain in the center supposedly elevated so you were able to see the beach but could only see bushes instead. read more

The crabcakes were amazingly fresh with big chunks of crab,, and coconut shrimp also was excellent and came with an amazing dipping sauce. This was a to-go order. Atlantic Jacks is located in the Hilton Melbourne Oceanfront Hotel. It's the only food serving venue on this property and it can just be considered the "Hilton restaurant." I've only had the breakfast buffet here. I won't go out of my way and say that the food wasn't edible, but it was pretty bland and unimpressive. You have your standard eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, and continental on top of that. You can place orders for omelettes which is included in the buffet price. To add insult to injury, the breakfast buffet rings in around $28 per person. So why eat here?==- The service was friendly and HHonors Gold Members and above are given complimentary breakfast coupons to use (don't forget to tip the undiscounted price). Otherwise, there really is no reason to eat here unless you like an overpriced breakfast. read more

If I could give it zero stars I would. For a Doubletree the breakfast was sub par. We are at the beach on the weekend so I would expect a good breakfast with made to order something. Not even an option at all. Everything is a buffet at unreasonable prices. There was typical buffet fare - scrambled eggs, grits, oatmeal, bacon, sausage links, fried potatoes, hard waffles, French toast, box cereal, melon fruits, cheap yogurt, and breads. Luckily I am a Hilton Diamond member so I get 2 free breakfast coupons per day. However, this Doubletree does not include the kids with these coupons as many others do. Pretty disappointed that the buffet is $12.95 for adults and $6.95 for kids. So even with my coupons for my wife and I, we had to pay for the two kids breakfast which ended up being $20 with tip. read more

Well where to start. First it's the only thing going on for breakfast at the DoubleTree so you would think they would get it right, no they didn't. They push the breakfast buffet, standard fare, grits, oatmeal, hash browns, bacon, sausage, French toast, made to order owlets and Belgian waffles. Buffet was horrid. Undercooked eggs, runny grit, greasy soggy hash-browns, flavorless over cooked bacon, greasy sausage. Only real edible items were the owlets and waffle but for $13.00/person you expect better. Service was average but nothing to write about. Save your money and go elsewhere for breakfast. Will let the management know and hopefully they will get it right. My wife had the Mahi Mahi with yellow rice and I had the seafood trio which consisted of Mahi Mahi, Lump Crab Cake, and Grilled Shrimp. We ate dinner inside and had a great experience! Food is of course pricey (since its a restaurant) but was good! I ate the vegetable quesadillas (which are on the bar menu but I still got them) and they were great- lots of vegetables and cheese (a bit to much cheese for me but still good). My mom got the grilled shrimp Caesar salad and my dad got the Sea Grapes burger with sweet potato fries- he said the burger was awesome but the fries were too fried and didn't really taste like sweet potato at all (they were still pretty good though). I have quite a few individuals I work with that have stayed in this hotel before. Most everyone who works here at the doubletree knows my co-workers. From day one on my first trip with my unit I was treated like family from everyone. Jen who works at the bar always makes sure everyone is taken care of. The Hubs planned a family weekend here...the drive up was horrid! Rain, wind, hail, apocalypse....we arrived in one piece, more or less. We had already decided that we would eat at the restaurant in the hotel, so we traipsed on down with the boys. The Food....good, fresh, and tasty. I had the Caeser salad with shrimp, and it was excellent. The Hubs had the snapper and he said it was fresh and tasty. The oldest had the shrimp and bacon salad. The server forgot to add the dressing, but once we got that, he ate the whole thing. The youngest had the chicken wings and really enjoyed them. Overall, the food was pretty good: not fancy, but presented well, and very satisfying. The Service...the staff was friendly, accommodating, and professional. Only problem...not enough if them. Service was slow. Our server Jordan was pulling double duty: server and chef. The restaurant was not busy, but the staff was stretched way too thin. What redeemed the experience in the end was their positive attitude and their willingness to do the best they could. Management needs to hire more staff and polish up the rough edges. read more

Ate lunch here twice as we took a break from the beach, knowing that we were at a hotel restaurant, folks--and we have no complaints. Food was fresh, we had large portions, and it tasted just fine-- we had wraps, burgers and salads--not gourmet, but nothing was wrong with it at all! Comparing his place to other resorts...I would say it's a 4.5/5. If we had wanted better pricing or fast food, we would have driven down the street a bit! My boyfriend are I were staying at this hotel for a wedding. We decided to try their breakfast because it was convenient and we noticed it was a buffet. You have to wait to be seated. We had to wait ten minutes at the front while the hostess ran around on the floor doing other things. Once she finally came up, she sat is at a table but didn't explain if there were servers or if we just go up to the buffet. We sat there until someone finally came and explained the process to us, which the hostess should have done. We order drinks and go up to the buffet to get the food. When we came back, the hostess had seated another family at our table. My boyfriend and I stood there with our plates for a couple of minutes while the manager had to come sort everything out. That family already put their things down and touched all the silverware. We asked for new silverware and it never came - we had to go get it ourselves. We finally started to eat the mediocre food - the eggs tasted fake, the bacon was cold and floppy, the hash browns were so hard it was a chore to eat, and the yogurt was cheap. Also asked for ketchup that never came. Honestly, for $16.00 per person for this buffet, I was extremely disappointed. Don't waste your money on this place. read more
