Had not been since last fall, so popped in for a Reggae Sunday. Still banging! I love that they update their menu periodically, instead of letting it get stale. For instance they used to only do the whole fried snapper as a special sometimes, but now it's on the menu permanently! Whoever is running the FnB here is smart. We had the coconut crusted grouper sandwich and the ahi tuna tacos. Omg... I devoured the tacos!! I am legit excited about eating them again. Husband loves the sando too. I tasted a bit of the fish and it was tops. Band was pretty good, played a good variety of reggae and reggae-styled covers. Loved it! As always drinks and beer were spot on. What a great place! Ocean front dining, live music, and great food. What a combo. Great way to speaks a Saturday afternoon! The teriyaki bowl was packed with flavor! A hint of heat rounded it out really nice. My husband said the buffalo chicken sandwich was the "best he's ever had!" And he is someone that try's that everywhere we go. Had a great time enjoying dinner at the Crown Plaza hotel restaurant. They had a live band playing and the vibes were amazing right by the beach. The poke bowl was refreshing with lots of veggies and tuna, while the blackened tuna was also great, although the pineapple rice could have been a bit less greasy. Things run on beach time here, so service does take a while but as long as you're not in a hurry, it gives you a good excuse to enjoy the outdoors and sea breeze. Although I'm not a key lime pie fan, the pie was tart and sweet, with lots of whipped cream on the side. Our waiter was friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. read more

Surprisingly good food for a hotel beachside bar. The fish tacos were delicious. Blackened, but not incredibly hot. They make a solid burger too. Everything came out hot and fresh. Our bartender was exceptional. Naturally, there's a great view of the water with lots of fans to keep you cool in the Florida heat. Love that the parking is free. Connected to the Crowne Plaza hotel, This restaurant/beach bar is a good vibe. It's Literally right on the beach. I had a piña colada and I did the Wagyu sliders with fries. Longboards was located in the hotel we stayed at and made it really convenient to grab drinks and dinner without leaving the property. After a day at the beach, we enjoyed dinner sitting outside. The drinks were strong and really good. We ordered coconut shrimp and calamari appetizers, Cuban sliders, crabcake sandwich, and a slice of key lime pie. Everything tasted really good, however, the appetizers were $17 each and were very small plates. Only 5 average size shrimp for $17 seems a bit high. The key lime pie was a treat! Recommended ordering a slice. We also dined in for breakfast the following morning and had the breakfast buffet. A big variety of breakfast options, lots of fresh fruit, and omelets to order were included. The pastries were cold but our server brought some in the back and heated them up for us. The view of the beach from the patio is absolutely stunning! Our waiter was friendly but clearly busy. Unfortunately, our food took a long time to arrive, and by the time it did, we were starving. I ordered the market fish, which was snapper, served with mashed potatoes and green beans. The snapper was delicious, especially with the beurre blanc sauce. However, I didn't enjoy the mashed potatoes--the strong bacon flavor was overwhelming for me. That said, someone who loves bacon might really appreciate them. read more

Service was the absolute worst. Believe Ashley was the server. Party of 11 to celebrate Mothers Day on Saturday before they were too busy. Food came out after 1 hour for 4 people. After another 20 minutes more food came out for 6 people and when we were all done eating the last order came out. Over easy eggs for everyone had totally runny whites and were inedible. Overhead fans on the deck in 90+ degree weather were not turned on. We had to ask several times for coffee and water and asked twice when the food would be sent. Worst food I've ever had! Coconut grouper sandwich 24 dollars. They brought it out with nothing! Nosauce no stop. It was tiny and burnt. When we asked where are the toppings the bartender went back grabbed them and delivered them with his bare hands. I can't believe they sent this out of the kitchen. It was absolutely the worst dish I've ever seen. The other dish we had was diver sole with stuffed crab and shrimp.the fish was so over cooked we couldn't cut it. The dish was very small for 34 dollars. Again I couldn't believe someone would send this out. Worst restaurant I've ever been to! Will never go back. Disappointed - No Military Discount It's honestly ridiculous that this restaurant is located so close to the Air Force base and doesn't offer any kind of military discount. You'd think a business in this area would show some appreciation for the service members and families that make up a huge part of the local community. The food was fine, nothing special, but the lack of support for military personnel really left a bad taste. A small gesture like a discount goes a long way, and it's disappointing they don't seem to think that matters. read more

Food took a long time to come out, some people's order was wrong and brought back to kitchen and it took 30 more min and then we asked and they brought a salad and said they were out of chicken, 1 person didn't get right food at all. The views of the ocean are impeccable and the best in south Brevard County. The deck is completely covered with tiki roofs, tvs and has a great view of the ocean. They have an inside bar, outside bar and a restaurant. The bands that play here are usually worth the trip and the food is always amazing. No doubt it's better than ever now under new management and he has turned things around. Go give them a try if you haven't visited lately then you are missing out. We went there for a drink and some food. When we arrived, a table of eight people had three dogs. Dogs at the table. Then they started feeding the dogs AT THE TABLE. I contacted the hotel thru a live chat. They said they contacted the front desk. Long story short.......the people were allowed to stay for over an hour. The live chat person said it was against policy. Nothing was done. Also, the dining area was posted as non-smoking.....people were vaping. We are club members, stay at the chain all the time. A great location that is easy to access, located in the Crowne Plaza hotel. The ambiance is amazing right on the beach and the staff is very friendly. They have some great signature cocktails. This would have easily been a 5 star experience if not for the long wait for the food. Having said that however, I dare say the food was worth the wait. It is the best place in the world if you show up not hungry. It takes about two hours to get any food so by the time your food comes out you should be hungry. The service is really slow so it gives you a couple hours to just sit around. Not even super busy either read more

Don't even bother coming here if you're not staying at the hotel. The parking at the hotel is valet only. We were told we had free parking "right next door" - where? There is a lot right across the hotel accessible by bridge but it's all for hotel patrons. There is no indication of where to park at all, it is beyond confusing. I'm never the person to leave a one star review of anything but this was a truly perplexing lunch visit! The beachside view was fantastic but unfortunately everything else was the strangest dining experience ever. Our initial server was friendly and took our drink order then food order. Drinks came...and then we could literally never get her attention to return to our table!! I'm not exaggerating, not even to pay the bill to leave!! Another nice server brought our food. Which was exactly room temp with some bits of cold meat on plate. Our plates had obviously been sitting getting cold while our server was too busy to bring them. I needed one refill during meal (to choke down cold Cuban sliders!) but could never get anyone to come until the nice server who brought our food saw we needed drinks and brought them. We were finished eating by then because she was also very busy but she still did the right thing by taking care of us for refills. This is going on almost 2 hours at this point and while we loved the view it was time to motor on. We simply could not get anyone to take my credit card to pay for the cold lunch! It was exacerbating to say the least. We tried the bartender, she couldn't help. She did give us to go cups and leftover box. To pay she said try around the corner inside...nobody was there. Finally I walked up to a server (second one to help us who was not our server with our bill!) and finally got the bill paid for us! No apology ever from our original server who blatantly ditched us. This was my daughter and I, 2 people, simple lunch and lemonade order. Simply no valid reason for this experience. Major management problem at this otherwise gorgeous establishment! We won't return!! Total time spent ended up being 2.5 hours. Communication is everything...if you're a server with too many tables tell the customer you're sorry and doing your best but never ditch a table. My wife wanted to go to Longboards for the scheduled entertainment. I looked at the menu, and knew that this wasn't a serious restaurant. That's fine, I set my expectations accordingly. I ordered the blackened mahi tacos and the rye old fashioned. On the plus side, I believe the fish really was mahi, and it was cooked to the perfect doneness. But blackened? I don't think it was seasoned in any way, and definitely not blackened. For $19, the amount of mahi was pretty light. As for the old fashioned, it was at least 80% crushed ice. All pretty much as expected, so why bother with a review? I was up most of the night with abdominal discomfort and diarrhea. The only other thing I ate all day was a Premier Protein drink for lunch, which I often do, so you can draw your own conclusions. Despite the no cover charge for entertainment, if I'm going to have a mediocre meal and watered down drinks, I at least want to not get sick from it. read more

A+ on location! Nestled behind the Crown Plaza Hotel on Melbourne Beach with indoor and outdoor dining options. Outdoor is preferred because you look out onto the beautiful dunes and beach while you enjoy dinner or drinks. We were staying at the Crown and didn't feel like going anywhere so we went downstairs to the Longboards Oceanfront Grill for dinner our first night at the hotel. When we arrived nobody was serving as host, so we didn't really know what to do. We finally asked and were told to seat ourselves and that someone would take care of us. So we found an empty table and were told to move because it was reserved, but there was no sign or anything on the table. Luckily the table next to it was available so we took it. Our server was friendly, but was taking on a lot of tables, so that lead to a little wait while our server struggled to get out of the weeds. No problem, we were enjoying the view from the deck. We ordered drinks and dinner. We started with the hummus and it was horrible; it was kind of hard and old. I should have sent it back, but we anticipated dinner to be better. My daughter had the wings which were pretty blah and I really have forgotten what I ordered for my entree, but it wasn't great. Would I come back? Sure, but just for drinks. read more

Beef sliders were SUPER. Moist and cooked to perfection. Not a fan of the slaw or kettle chips in general. Mahi mahi tacos were decent but needed more aioli sauce. The common theme here seems to be around the service, and I can understand why. First, if you are not staying at the hotel, you can either pay around $20 for very confusing valet parking or pay $8 to park across the street and walk up and down what seemed like 40 steps each way to cross the street on a bridge. It was very disorganized and confusing when we walked in and there were signs saying to seat ourselves. A server greeted us promptly and took drink orders. She came back 5-10 min later and took our order for appetizers. The appetizers arrived before our first round of drinks. The food was surprisingly good (appetizers and meal) despite other reviews. However, our server was very slow and forgetful (and appeared to be high as well). One of our party members asked for a Coke twice. I eventually went to the bar and got her one before the server got back after the 3rd request and brought one. One of the burgers also came without the requested toppings, and we had to ask twice for those and for condiments. I will say that I don't think the servers had designated stations, as she seemed to be working various areas of the room (poor management issue). The view was awesome, and we did enjoy the music, but overall I would not return. read more
