Meh. Prices reflect the great location, but the food doesn't merit the cost. Colleague ate half his grouper sandwich that came fried, not blackened, and he doubted it was even grouper. My salad was nothing special. Throw in $15 parking, and I've visited here for the last time. RS read more

Had a nice lunch today and Boardwalk bar. Our server was super attentive and kind. This is a great spot right on the pier so the views are fantastic. The menu is a decent size. Over half of the menu is seafood/fish so keep that in mind when coming here. For lunch I had a salmon roll and fries. The salmon was super fresh and tasted great. My friends had the poke bowl and the short rib Mac and cheese. Both of them really enjoyed meals. The only down side for me is the drink options, not much outside of rum and super sweet cocktails. Overall we had a good time! read more

Sat down at around 9pm and was greeted immediately with menus! I'm a diehard chicken fan so I had to try the honey dusted Nashville hot chicken sandwich and that was the best decision I ever made! Might have been the best I've ever had. First impression was how big it was LOL but the heat wasn't too much at all & the honey sprinkles paired perfectly for flavor. It came with several sliced pickle spears and a drizzle of ranch aïoli (I believe) which was good for me. I'm not a tomato and onion person so I had to leave those out. I love some fries that arent too crispy/dry and still have meaty/soft potato on the inside, so these fries hit the spot! The Beach n Boozy bucket was delicious! Quenched your thirst, tasted like paradise, and could definitely be dangerous because it was so good! All in all this is a great hang out for beachgoers. I had a great time, but I believe it was probably because of the folks I was sitting around. Quite a bit of the music didn't have lyrics, but just island type vibes of popular songs and it wasn't too loud, which can be good if you're trying to talk with somebody without yelling. I went when it wasn't too busy, but I'm sure seating could be an issue during the day when there's more foot traffic. The bar area is quite small (and comfortable), but they do have table seating to the left of the bar read more

We ended up eating here for the shear convenience as it was close to our hotel. Sitting on the deck for dinner was very nice with a gentle breeze. The waitress, Lisa, was super sweet and enthusiastic. Our food was delicious! Grouper sandwich and grouper tacos. I would definitely recommend eating here to anyone visiting cocoa beach! read more

Great decor and setting, also nice staff. Way, way overpriced, especially the wine and cocktails. Need to slash them at least 40-50%. Food looked great but also pricey. Too $$$ for a noisy and very casual beachside bar and grill. Nice view of the ocean. What happened to all the protected sea grapes on the dune?? read more

Pretty good food, very nice staff, and amazing views from the pier. Kind of rude that you are only allowed to go on the pier if you are going to eat at one of the restaurants, but kind of needed since the area on the boardwalk pier is tight. read more

I purchased a bucket drink to share that was advertised to have 4 types of rum. This beverage was basically Kool-Aid with lemon and lime. I went back up to the bar and figured I would just stick with beer this time. I stood there for 5 to 10 minutes and no one ever acknowledged my presence. The bar was not busy, I ended up walking away. Do not recommend. read more

Not sure why the rating is so low. We parked in the 2.50/hour city parking and walked right up the pier. We walked past the hot dogs and first restaurant to the Boardwalk Bar for a pleasant experience. We ordered the wahoo sandwich specials and the Gator platter. The sandwiches were delicious with a spicy pickle. The fries were spiraled and made crispy. The gator was deep fried and well battered. It has a nice seasoned flavor and the meat was not tough. The dipping sauce was sweat and Cajun spicy. The hero of the day was the super nice lady taking care of us. Alicia was attentive, described the plates perfectly and was crazy friendly. She and the entire wait staff was a pleasure as they worked together in a comfortable manner read more

Located on the pier of Cocoa Beach, you get some pretty fantastic views. We sat outside for dinner after a full day on the beach. Very casual, no need to get dressed up. Service was okay, they seemed a little understaffed. Food and drinks were great. You will have to pay for parking if you park nearby, which is unfortunate but I get it. Bathrooms were clean for a pier. Pricing is also a little high but I expected that for the location. I would come here after a long day at the beach to fill up on some good grub! read more

I'm not sure how some visitors can give this place less than four stars. You are on a pier over the Atlantic Ocean on Cocoa Beach. Order a beer, listen to the waves crash, and just breathe in the salty goodness. Have some gator bites. Yes, gator is chewy compared to chicken. It's gator . If the wait staff brings you the wrong beer, if it's cold, then drink it. It's Florida. You are on the beach. If you are expecting white table linens and Michelin Star food, then you are in the wrong place. Our server was very good. The food was good. The drinks were great. We had bar food, the signature fries, fish dip, gator bites. Fun stuff for vacation. I think these are the same people that act upset when they get wet sitting next to a hotel pool. Kids splash; it's called fun. You should try it sometime. Seems to me that a lot of people have forgotten how to unwind, and unplug. Facebook and Twitter and can live without you for a week. Who cares what politicians said whatever. Put your toes in the sand and a drink in your hand... read more

If you are eating here it's likely you have already paid $10 to park and are either a tourist or a local soaking up some sun & you don't want to walk very far to eat. This place definitely has a great view of the beach but the "great" stops there. The food was just ok as was the service. The Rum Runner I had was terrible. Also, note the area of the menu for specialty drinks lists no prices & "non-returnable" so if you don't like it... tough sh@t! I later found out my drink was $8 If you're starving, go ahead and grab some grub but avoid the specialty drinks and stick to the beer. read more

Jump off the pier. There's signs saying don't do it but after several of their amazing dishes you can't help but participate. Went to the Boardwalk Bar on the Cocoa Beach Pier. I ordered a Pina Colada with a New England Shrimp Roll with fries. The prices were $15.95 for the Shrimp Roll, which is somewhat expensive for the size of the roll but expected due to the location. Everything was delicious. Shrimp Roll was served cold though, and I do think it would be better warm. Best thing about this location was the service. The waitress Rachel was super nice and attentive to our needs. We have been to the Cocoa Beach Pier a dozen times and this bar and restaurant area always intrigued us. We came on a pretty chilly night so it was a little unpleasant to sit on a pier on the ocean, but the view makes up for everything. But still, I'd say our time there was mediocre. The drinks were very expensive for what they were and everyone could have sworn there was no alcohol in them. The service was bad, the waitress was so inattentive we had to wave her down for almost everything. The cole slaw had no flavor, luckily they have salt pepper and mayo on the table to doctor it up with. The food was pretty good actually, but my sandwich, bun and all, seemed very cold. I had to request mine to be warmed up almost twice. The cool thing was they just made me a whole new meal with no charge! It's a fun place to go with an unbeatable view, but the prices and service make it kind of not worth it. read more

It is exactly what you expect. Casual, busy, high turnover, easy food options on a boardwalk by a beach. The food and service however were better than you would expect from your normal boardwalk beach restaurant. Melissa was the name of our waitress and despite working with what seemed like a thousand tables with even more people, she was amazing and pleasant and so patient with everyone. Usual list of beers on tap. Full bar. As I mentioned, food was better than expected. Wings were really good! Mahi mahi sandwich was solid. Fish tacos were also a hit. Their friend fries were different but so good. Was more like mashed potatoes in French fry form. Worth trying. Overall, good place to stop if you're looking for something casual. Service and food will surprise you. read more

Wish I could give them 0 stars. Got seated inside by host then sat there for 10 minutes with no one acknowledging we were even there, but the tables on either side of us and one past them had servers and not a one even looked at our table. What could be better than sitting on a pier right over the shoreline, enjoying a cold Corona and listening to a cover band play classic rock? If this place was back at home, I would be a regular. The Boardwalk Bar really hit the spot after a long day, and this seemed to be the place to just chill and watch the sunset. I ate some coconut beer battered gulf shrimp with orange marmalade and their house salad. The salad was standard, but OH those shrimp! Big, plump and delicious, I had never had such good tasting shrimp in my life. I'm not a big shrimp fan, but these shrimp are making me reconsider. The coconut wasn't too overpowering. The marmalade was a bit too much sweetness to handle. I'm craving some shrimp right now as I type this... Free parking, btw. read more

I love the view and my favorite bartenders. I expect a premium given the view & history. So beer prices are okay & happy hour 4-7 M-F is great. The issues: 1) while burgers are really good with cheese and bacon costs me $14+. They've hyped the food with new owners so today I tried blackened chicken: fair at best. I know many chefs who really know how to blacken meat. This was similar to most chains. 2) For New Years Eve paid $30 cover ( yes, 4 oz of cheap bubbly at midnight, + party favors & 3 bands). 2014 was much more fun and cost less than 2015. Band at Boardwalk was ballad band, no covers, would be great sometime but not NYE. Slow so boring. Finally gave up seats and moved to packed Keith's after midnight for a good band. 3). I just heard people behind me say the $14 gator was not good. read more

We are westgate owners and we're staying at the Westgate Cocoa Beach Resort and decided to check out the pier for dinner. The Boardwalk Bar wasn't busy and we were seated right away! Our server Noah was amazing and very attentive! The food was okay. We started with the crab and shrimp dip and had to send it back because the chips were stale but the came back out fresh and hot. I thought the dip was great but everyone else was surprised it was served cold. We asked if they could heat it up but weren't able to. I had the lobster roll and thought it was good but could have been a little creamier. The fries were nice and crispy! My husband had the Dungeness crab and thought it was so-so. Horrible experience as the manager Jeffrey Begley and the bar waitress Lauren treated me so horrible , I walked up to the bar and tried to order some drinks , apparently in order to do so I had to have a seat which no one said anything to me about, shortly after a couple sat down and "Lauren the waitress " proceeded to take their order and ignored me , the manager "Jeffrey" then intervened and said , you must sit down to place an order , I said I was here before the couple next to me and I just want a drink it's a bar for crying out loud , he said well sit down or leave, I said I will leave, I asked for his name he said it's Jeffrey I don't care if you take my name, he didn't care much about Anything no customer service at all, apparently there was a sign in the back of the bar that says you must sit down to be served, why wouldn't they place that sign in the front? For everyone to see and why was I treated in such rude way? Nothing makes sense ! read more

Be very very careful when dining here. One false move, a fall into a table, resulting in a broken table, and they'll call the police citing a large disturbance from a party of 12, who just finished dinner- a very expensive dinner. Wasted precious law enforcement resources, stated they were going to review tapes after the LEO arrived, after which the GENERAL MANAGER stated, while laughing as he walked away out of earshot, there aren't any tapes. If there is a civil lawsuit it will be countered. Stay very far away from this entire place. Oh and the food was awful. read more

I agree the pier experience enhances the visit to this cafe/bar (the cafe and bar are combined and we went to the cafe on this visit). The cafe is on the pier and you are literally sitting over the ocean on an amazing old wooden pier that feels more like a sailing ship than anything else. This is not the sanitized, updated piers that are found on the Gulf side, it is a wooden colossus holdover from another era that is just hanging in there. Having said that, the food at the cafe was ok. We had the garden burgers with seasoned fries and they were average, but this is more like pub food in a really cool pub than anything else. If you are going to Cocoa Beach this is definitely worth a visit. read more

The name now says pelican bar and grill- odd shaped fries and lousy service- Not worth it. Paid $10 for all day parking b/c hourly parking is 1.50 and who would remember to keep feeding the meter? Went up the ramp toward the pier. First stop- pelicans bar/grill. WORST SERVICE from " bartender" Eddie. Seemed over worked with few patrons at bar. At least acknowledge a new guest or apologize rather than being a jerk. Asked what popular/ fave items were and he said- he didn't know, it was a new menu. Great answer champ. Asked for 2 piña coladas. Watery and icy, waste of $10 foolishly we ordered food- happy to not have food poisoning. Fish sandw- ok $15 and chix sandw- better. No small talk- no smile. We had a great dinner on the pier last night thanks to this place! The server was attentive but not overbearing, the music was great, the food was good, and the scenery was perfect! Great spot on the beach some good fried food! Make sure to try their fries, they were delicious. And if you like Mahi, get their Mahi Reuben - it was messy but so good!
