We were even treated to a free wine sample while a representative was visiting, which was a nice touch. They've only been open a little over a year, and you can really feel the passion they put into the place. The owner also plays guitar, which creates such a relaxing vibe while enjoying your wine. We've already been twice during our short stay here, and when we come back to Cocoa Beach, this will definitely be one of our first stops. We're visiting from Jersey, and they made us feel truly welcome. Highly recommend!

Richard took my research of local @restaurants to go to Le French tonight for dinner. It turns out…read morethe restaurant was walking distance from his condo. He didn't know it was there. It is a small cafe run by a man and his wife. The husband is the chef and the wife handles the front. Richard was not familiar with French food by now he is. We started with sharing tender ramekin of escargots that were cooked perfectly with butter, garlic and fresh parsley. He never had it before but he did try one then grab another then I taught him to take the crusty French bread and soak up the garlic butter. We both ordered the beef bourguignon which is my favorite French dish. We both enjoyed it but it was not as rich and flavorful as I have had in the past. For dessert I had the chocolate mousse which was yummy and could not finish it all. Richard had the perfectly cooked and well presented lava cake which I will get next time when I come. The icing on the cake was that a family was eating dinner with grandparents, sons, Daughers and grandchildren. As the grandmother went to the restroom she stopped by to say what a joy it was to watch the two of us talk and enjoy each other. The grands who were 7 and 5 also chatted with us and asked me lots of questions about the places that I have visited. The son and DIL were from the country of Jordan. They were all delightful. He gave me some advise about Poland. When we left the restaurant, there was a full moon over the ocean which added a special accent to the day. At 10:20 tonight there is a SPACE X rocket ship blasting off from Cape Canaveral. We will watch it from the beach!!!!

THE FAT SNOOK - How fabulous! Our grandson took us to…read moredinner and it did not disappoint! Our server Casey was wonderful. Very attentive, knowledgeable about all the dishes. The starters we chose were delicious! Shared Mexican Street Corn Deviled Egg, Cornbread was amazing along with the the Crab appetizer which was delicious!! For dinner my husband had the Duck. He LOVED it! Had fresh blackberries with a Pomegranate glaze and duck confit hash. I had the Corvina fish. It featured a pineapple salsa along with Mofongo. Amazing. Such a delicious dish. My grandson got the Dirty rice with shrimp and scallops. So good! Absolutely delicious! We finished with delectable desserts which we shared - Key lime pie, Chocolate Pave - so luxurious, and Lemon Blueberry Crumb Cake. What a special night we had. Big Thank you to everyone at THE FAT SNOOK.

Unfortunately a lot of the execution fell a bit flat, especially after both the menu and it's prices had set our expectations otherwise. The amuse bouche was definitely a palate awakener.. a mix of olive tapenade and vinegary mustard. It wasn't for us, but if the goal was to wake up our mouths, it worked. Then hubs had the scallop appetizer with bacon maple marmalade. He thought it was too sweet, I didn't mind it. Scallops were cooked well. I had the mussels from Brussels, a bit clumsy to eat as the mussels were in their shells and the thin Brussel leaves were scattered within/around, all on a bed of pureed potatoes. But a nice flavor and a good portion size. Then i moved on to the beet salad, which was my least favorite. A dish I enjoy at a lot of restaurants, all with different plating/approaches, this one was clunky, the beets were cut thicker than usual, plated with large proportion dwarfing the citrus and the cheese was presented in medium size encrusted balls. It lacked elegance or delicateness, the flavors didn't really meld as they should. Hubs and I then moved to the main course. I had the crispy gnocci app as my main, which was fine, nothing special and hubs had the catch #2 a tile fish that was just ok. We finished our drinks, opted for dessert elsewhere. They've been around a long time, so I'm sure we will try again in another couple years.
