However, what was given to us was some branded plastic package of some cheese and cold cuts you can get from the refrigerated section in any grocery store and some gas station convenience stores. The introduction vibe on your first time is amazing. They always do a nice show for people that I've never been before, and even if you have been many times, you still get to participate, which is fun. Every day of the week they have a different separate drink menu for the specialties of that day. I love the Wednesday bourbon. The vibe inside is so amazing and Homie and it is pretty intimate though. So keep in mind if you have large parties like I went once with around six people it is hard for everyone to sit together. So I would definitely recommend coming on more weekday evenings when it's not as busy otherwise you will be having to wait in a line outside unfortunately. The capacity seems to be roughly around 30 people after talking with the bartenders. The bartenders are extremely knowledgeable. The off menu drinks that they could come up with ended up being some of my absolute favorites. I had the bartender at one point make me three surprise me drinks for whatever they felt like they could make. And every single one was so amazing I ended up passing it around to the rest of the group for everyone to try. Keep in mind, the drinks are probably a little bit more on the expensive side, but you are paying for more of the experience. It is also important to note that there is a five dollar cover fee that will last for a full week to enter the place, or you can buy an annual membership for $40. If you buy the annual membership, they do type out a membership library card for you and laminate so it feels very official and it's very cool to be able to have in your wallet. But first you must solve the riddle your greeter lays out and find the right book on the shelf. It's something different and interesting. Once you enter, you'll find a cute intimate bar. The ambiance boasts a lot of dark wood and dim lighting. It makes it a nice place for a date or even a group of friends or colleagues. The bartenders were amazing. I absolutely loved the lavender mule that I ordered. The second drink I got was a custom drink and I gave the bartender key words and she crafted a drink that represented the words that I gave her. My friends and I decided to check out Lourdes Library after I had seen it on social media. Upon entering the "library," you are greeted by a librarian who asks if you're interested in checking out a book (book of the week posted on their Facebook page but my other friend say it was also posted inside the library as well). You are then tasked with finding that book along the walls and being to the librarian. After all of that, you can purchase a membership ($5 for a week long pass and $45 for a yearly pass) to get into the speakeasy behind the library. Before letting us in, our librarian, Meredith, offered to take our group's picture as we were celebrating a birthday that day and all of our birthdays within January, which was very nice touch! Once inside the bar, the ambiance is swanky and a "vibe" as I'd like to call it. We arrived right after they opened so we were the only patrons inside. Our bartenders were super friendly and eager to recommend their top cocktails tailored by our spirit preference. They have a ton of drinks to choose from. As a group, we had the Amaretto Sour, Be a Peach, red and white wines, as well as a smores cocktail. Everything was delicious but the smores cocktail specifically was very strong for my friend's personal tastes. Overall, the bartenders continuously checked on us and kept the drinks flowing. I have to say that the bartenders are true mixologists and craft every cocktail with the utmost craftsmanship! Only downside is they only have trail mix variations for "bites," so would recommend eating prior to visiting. I also should mention that parking is limited at the front of the library, even when we got there at opening, so we had to rely on street parking and would recommend carpooling to make it easier on a group. Overall, I would highly recommend checking this place out. The bar is decently sized, which filled up over time as we were enjoying our drinks but I believe the librarians keep track of occupancy as you enter so that the place won't get too crowded. From the location, ambiance, and hospitality...you cannot find it in many places in the area. The whole crew at Lourde's is amazing and makes the experience that much better. Each person here carefully curates every cocktail and is consistent each time. I recommend coming during the week since it's not as busy and taking a seat at the bar. It's always fun to observe how the drinks are crafted and getting to know the bartenders a bit more. Treat yourself to a fantastic evening! From entrance to exit, Lourdes Library was absolutely splendid. We walked in and met with librarian Meredith who was so kind and personable. We had looked up the password book title ahead of time (check out their Facebook weekly!) so it was as easy as finding the book on the shelf to enter the speakeasy. The bartenders Jimena and Ethan worked fast and made some of the best cocktails I've ever had. For our first round I ordered the Amalfi Coast Sour. Freaking incredible. So smooth, not too sweet, and immediately added to my favorites. We had a group of about 13 people for a birthday and thankfully got in before it was too crowded. A few others ordered the Amalfi Coast Sour at my encouragement and they all said it was one of the best drinks they've ever had. For our second round I ordered the Lourdes of the Mule. There are some places that simply transcend the norm, the everyday, the also-ran, the...well, you get the picture. *This* place is that kinda place... A modern day speakeasy, that is entertaining and enthralling, as it is a joy to experience, even the GPS takes you through back alleys to get to the place. My oldest son and I dropped in to celebrate his birthday - it was a place we both heard of and wanted to experience for ourselves. The outside is nondescript, but once you enter you are transported to a Victorian-era library, with librarian and all waiting on you. With a little homework, or a quick peek of a small blackboard on the wall, you find the "book-of-the-week" and bring it to the librarian. After paying the weekly fee for access or if you decide to do the year-long membership, the secret entrance to the speakeasy is opened and you are transported back to the early 20th century. The speakeasy, or let's just call it a bar now, is simple. There's seating for about 10-15 folks, with additional seating around the area. A couple of super friendly bartenders handle your orders from their imaginative menu - replete with old favorites and new choices. One of the unique things about their menu is their choice of drink that allows the bartender to ask a few questions of your favorite things - and then viola - a drink representing the answers to that series of questions is presented to you. What a great idea - it was super fun and the drink was super good as well. If you're looking for a fun way to get a drink, something unique and way out of the ordinary - this is the place to go. This speak easy place was disappointing. Little to no ingenuity and too small inside. It does have a curious theme books but not fully developed idea. Needs more seating or high tables to stand. Drinks were okay but not superb. Service was good and bar tenders tried to keep up. They have limited space to make drinks. I messaged a week ahead to request four specific drinks (I only mention three as that was all I got to before reaching the full mark). They nailed each and every one I sampled. I get ahead of myself. When I walked in, I was greeted by Ethan, The Bar Director, and as I turned my gaze, I was FLOORED to see Jimena, the bartender and famed Aztec Goddess, whom I had not seen in five years since a review in Vero Beach. Now I knew things were going to be great. When you enter Lourdes Library, it looks just like that. A bookstore (remember those?) with bookshelves crammed with books lining the walls and a Librarian. She sizes you up and, based on her vast experience of dealing with people, suggests a book just for you. After scanning the shelves, you locate it. Once you pull it out the bookcase opens. At this point, I wished I was dressed like James Cagney as the bookcase closed behind me, and I found myself in the midst of a hidden speakeasy. Top of the world, Ma! Top of the world! I was approached by Jimena and said, "I am looking to consume four specific drinks." She led me to my spot and was off to gather my libations. I had asked for a Jack Rose, a Whiskey Sour, a Sidecar, and a fourth I did not consume, all with top-shelf liquor. The mixologist was on top of their game, as each cocktail was a monument to its namesake. They were all perfectly blended. This was absolutely, without a doubt the greatest drinking establishment I have ever entered. By far. There is a dress code so look into that before your excursion back in time. Love this speakeasy! I came here on Friday night and waited about 30 minutes outside. I don't think the wait is usually that long but it was worth it. Once we got inside we pulled the book of the week off the shelf and we're allowed to enter the bar. The decor is fabulous but the drinks are even better. As soon as you sit down you can smell the aroma of all the fresh garnishes behind the bar. They serve true craft cocktails and each drink I had was better than the last. What a lucky find this place was! We were visiting the Melbourne area and got turned onto this by a friend. I'm very happy we decided to go! We had to find a book from the library and then after a $5 "membership"we were allowed to enter through a hidden door in the shelf! It's a formal and beautiful establishment with a dress code, which can be found on their social media pages. The have Tiki Tuesdays, which add an additional menu full of Tiki style drinks. My friend had and I "took a gamble" where we chose a topic from the literature list and the crafter makes your drink based off your answers. Custom drink by Ethan inspired by my favorite movie and book. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind inspired the two drastic flavors and the coconut to marry the two. The Hunger Games inspired the rose. It was delicious! Definitely look forward to more evenings in the area to show my friends! Personally I have gone to other "upscale" type places that I have felt over dressed because of all the casual beachwear. So typically I appreciate a place with a dress code. That being said, tonight we went & I was wearing a dress with boots & my husband wore a shirt from Express that had a black abstract flower embroidered onto the front. The librarian in front of a very busy line stated to us "wow you've waited all this time and didn't follow the dress code as you are wearing a graphic t shirt" it was so uncomfortable for everyone. All the people waiting in line stopped talking- it was completely unnecessary. He looked very nice with this shirt & salmon colored dress pants. Is a graphic t shirt not screen printed... I am ALL FOR A DRESS CODE. Calling out your guests like that when we were dressed very appropriately is completely uncalled for. I am very sad because I enjoy the cocktails & ambience but we will not be going back to a place that treats guest that way. read more

The first time I went to Lorde's Library it was magic, the music was relaxing, Joules the bartender was a true mixologist and great at guest interaction. The second time I went I took my mother and the service was slightly worst. I was told Joules was not there anymore. The drinks were still beautiful and good. Last night I took a friend who was in town for the week... I was so excited to show her the experience. The front desk lady was great as usual. Once we got into the bar it was over crowded. There were two bartenders but we didn't get any greeting until about 10 minutes of sitting at the bar. The bartender didn't show me the smoking process which is part of the fun and the experience of seeing the smoke in the drink is part of why I buy that drink. He "promised" there was smoke but I wanted to see the whole thing happen because that's part of the drink enjoyment. He did bring the smoke lid and smoked the drink but it was such a small amount of smoke that it just felt cheap and rushed. There was no magic. The music was awful House music which made it hard to talk to my friend. She didn't like her drink. They didn't have enough ingredients to make my favorite drink which was weird. I asked them to make something similar and they didn't even explain what they were serving me. It just tasted like a regular old fashioned but not even as good as I could make at home with simple ingredients...
