Extraordinary! This place is beautifully decorated with a mouthwatering menu. We went as a group of four and went all in! We ordered a little bit of everything and shared all of our dishes leaving nothing behind, full to the gills and dopamine filled brains. Flavour has some of the best food in Cocoa Beach! Atmosphere is laid back with it not being a huge space, tables are limited. Jason, the chef has really curated a menu that is versatile for many palettes. My friends are regulars and suggested Flavour Kitchen for my birthday and I was not let down. Went here for a nice dinner one night and the food did not disappoint. The prices were a little high given the ambiance of the restaurant (loud music, very small/crowded) but the flavors were great. We ordered mac and cheese, hush puppies and the octopus for appetizers - the hush puppies were phenomenal. I got the french onion soup (off menu) and it was just okay. A little too salty and the bone marrow was like jelly, not like butter. I'd skip the flatbread too and get a meat or something, the steak and whole snapper were delicious. Our server was really great too, but at the end of our meal another server came around to check out books to make sure we tipped or something and that just rubbed us the wrong way. Amazing experience overall! The name of the restaurant says it all. We went for early dinner. Finding the place was a little tricky. We missed it twice and had to go back around the block. As you are coming on N. Orlando ave., the restaurant is on the left. There's parking available along the avenue. As we entered we really enjoyed the nice ambience, and romantic atmosphere with dimmed lighting and real candles on the tables. Service was excellent. Our waitress, Rachel explained everything clearly. We shared the seared artichoke salad, which was delicious, with a not overpowering nice dressing. My wife had the salmon special, accompanied by a rock shrimp, salmon and sea bass cake. I had the paella. Both dishes were delicious and both presentations were beautiful. Thank you Chef Jason. Timing between beverage, appetizer, and entrees was perfect. As the evening progressed, the restaurant became quickly filled, and of course, the noise level highly increased as expected. Small restaurant with very poor ventilation. Chef is arrogant and rude, but even he will proudly admit this, so this isn't a swipe at him. But what got us was one of our guests who is elderly and requires hearing aid, politely asked if they can turn the music down due to his hearing issue. Chef responded, "I will not turn the music down, this is my [expletive] place and I can do anything I want." I respect the fact that we are guests at someone's restaurant and they can indeed do what they want, we just did not feel welcomed and not likely to return. read more

After hearing great things from friends, we gave it a try (party of 3). First, very accommodating and beautiful relaxing ambiance. Friendly professional staff, and Chef Jeff introduced himself and offered intel on his creations. Outstanding menu and wine/beer selection but no liquor unfortunately. The food was all uniquely prepared and delicious, no issues there. Only shocker was the cost: all items are individually al la carte so it added up quickly. Throw in sautéed spinach for $10 and a few glasses of wine at $18 each and final bill was over $325 with coffee and no desserts. Parking in Cocoa Beach is always a hassle, so add in another $12. We were invited here by a friend for their birthday! Overall over experience was good, I do have some negatives that bumped my review down. I've seen some reviews on here mention the ambiance, I didn't see a problem with it. The music is a bit loud but not over whelming where we couldn't raise our voices a little to talk or lean closer to hear. We arrived a few minutes late due to parking. It was a Saturday so probably a little more busy, so we just ended up parking in the garage across the street. Some friends were already sitting at the table so that was great, that it was already ready for us ahead of time. We started by ordering drinks. I ordered a semi sweet white wine, my husband ordered a wine as well. Drinks were brought out shortly. Right after that our order was taken. I do understand that this is a smaller restaurant and we did have quite a large party, however, it took a little over an hour for everyone to get their food. My husband and I chose to split some plates so we could try different things. We chose the mushroom pizza, blue cheese truffle fries, and the meatballs. I did want to try the asparagus but it was listed as $14??? That's a tad steep for a side vegetable. Our food was really good. I loved the truffle fries but I also really like blue cheese, if you don't, idk if I would order because there is quite a bit. The prices weren't terrible but keep in mind how hungry you are because small plates are visibly a small amount of food and can get pretty expensive. Someone at our table ordered the scallops, which came with 3 and it was $22... the meatballs also came with 3 but were a tad cheaper. The pizza was a good size as well as the fries but not enough to have left overs. The one main thing that kind of threw me off was that at the end of the meal someone had mentioned it was our friend's birthday so you'd think they'd bring out a dessert, something small. A cookie or a brownie... it was a cup of whipped cream with a candle in it. I guess we just figured for the amount and prices for dinner they could spare a small birthday dessert??? It's a small place and the kitchen is open. Not great ventilation so the first thing you will notice is that you smell whatever they're cooking in the kitchen. In our case, it was fish. So afterwards, my clothes smelled like fish.... Ordered a bunch of appetizers- bacon (spicy and not in a good way), French fries with blue cheese (okay), lamb chops (okay, but over sauced) and French onion soup with bone marrow (that was delicious!). The food was excellent and presentation was great. We were amazed on how fast we were served. We had wine and desert. No regrets. The only downside it it's sooooo noisy. Loud music, not my favorite. We had a wonderfully enjoyable dinner here. So much above some other recent local experiences in Cocoa Beach. We wound up parking in the garage and walking back north to the restaurant. It is located on the east side of the street just north of the Heidelberg and may not be the easiest to spot as you are driving south on Orlando. We were warmly greeted and seated. We'd made reservations, but they weren't that busy when we first arrived early on a mid week evening. I predict that they will be, however, as more people discover them. Not that they are a new place. They have been open for several years. I found their online posts to be intriguing and began following them in anticipation of our visit. Inside, most of the seats are at high tops -- against one wall or at a chefs table where you can view the kitchen. There are a few regular low tables -- so if these are necessary then do indicate that when making your reservation. Another reviewer mentioned the loud music. We weren't bothered by it -- but then again, we were concentrating on the cuisine and not the conversation. The chef (formerly from New York) is quite creative so even though the regular menu is already appealing, there are always some (changing) innovative specials you may want to explore. Our server Marianne was more than happy to answer any questions and to explain a dish's ingredients. We started out by sharing an organic wedge salad (not on the regular menu) -- with blue cheese, bacon, and tomatoes. It was a good size -- big enough for two. Marianne gave us serrated knives to aid in cutting the wedge of iceberg lettuce. After the salad, we had two other small plates -- their lamb chops and their shrimp fritters. The grilled lamb "lollipops" were four to the order. As my husband likes meat rare and I like more well done, they were very accommodating to cook my two chops a bit more for me. Each plate had a nice amount of balsamic glaze on it. The lamb was tender and flavorful. The shrimp "fritters" were 4 large shrimp that were lightly battered -- similar to a tempura style. They were served over a red pepper sauce (not spicy) and some greens. The shrimp were delicious -- as were the lamb chops. For dessert, he had a strawberry and rhubarb hand pie (our description) served with some whipped cream and a strawberry on the side. He said the pastry was just perfect. And he loved the sweet tart combination of strawberry and rhubarb filling inside. I had their chocolate mousse. This was divine -- with chunks of chocolate and cherries. A dense, rich, not too sweet chocolate indulgence. Not that airy frou frou stuff nor anything remotely like boxed pudding. If you like chocolate, then you absolutely must try this. We can't wait to come back and try some of their other offerings (the short ribs? The whole snapper?). So glad the chef decided to move to Florida! And you will be, too. read more

Let me start off saying, we were sat at a table that was wobbly and if you put any weight on it such as an arm or elbow, your drink would slide off the table. We had reservations and there were other tables available. At first they told us this was our only option. After putting up with it for 25 min we refused to sit there and told them we are going to sit at a different table or leave. The music is way too loud. I was no more than 1-2 feet from my girlfriend and had to shout the whole time. It made me feel like I needed a hearing aide being in there constantly turning my head to get my ear closer to hear. The food was good, but it took around 75 minutes to get our food after ordering. Like I said the food was good, but not $50 a person good if I'm going to be honest. I doubt I will be back unfortunately due to the whole experience. I don't belive it was worth it and rather try other places for the price. We got a bottle of wine to split and drank the complimentary water. The water cups have about 3-4 sips in them. We only had our glasses refilled twice in over an hour and a half of being there. Our glasses were empty a majority of the time trying to get the waiters attention. read more

My husband and I went to Flavour after sunset hoping to enjoy a few glasses of wine and some small plates, and potentially a full dinner (and see where the night took us). This is a fairly standard way of enjoying a wine bar and we expected it to be a fun evening. Unfortunately we were told that because "there is only one chef in the kitchen," we were required to place our entire order up front "so that chef can course it out." This defeats the purpose of a wine bar (where one might pair one small dish with one glass, another with another, and so forth) and in any event is poor customer service, as it in effect makes the restaurant's staffing problems the customers' problems and enforces a rigid discipline on paying customers. We reluctantly ordered the maple bacon (which is sticky-sweet) with our first glass of wine and asked for a good wine pairing, which our server appeared not to understand how to recommend. When our server later came by to ask if we wanted "anything else," we were told it was impossible to order more food because "those are the rules - the owner makes them and we enforce them." Enforcing "rules" on customers is something to be avoided where possible, and in any event our server was quite rude about it. And this was not an issue of the kitchen being about to close - other groups were coming in and placing new orders. When we pointed out that they were losing quite lot of business with this model of "rules," she told us "we're doing great" and they didn't want or need our business. (They don't seem to be doing "great" - they asked us to come an hour earlier than our reservation because something had opened up, and there were empty tables.) We suspect there was some sort of "face control" in place, as this rule was not being rigidly enforced - the other server (who was quite informal in demeanor) was asking another table in the middle of their dinner if they wanted to order other dishes. Moreover, our server spoke to us in a tone dripping with contempt and disdain. For whatever reason, our server appeared to have decided that we were the "wrong sort." The wine list is actually an insult to the clientele in its own right, as it is a lot of mass market producers (Segura Viudas, Michel Chapoutier, d'Arenberg etc) - the equivalent of passing off Mondavi as a boutique producer, Miller Lite as a craft brew, or Strongbow as an artisanal British cider. (Well, at least they didn't try any of those...) At $15 per glass, this effectively relies either on the customer not knowing or not caring what they are buying. There are other restaurants in the area that have much better and more interesting wine lists. The menu, for what it is worth, is similar to other restaurants in the area that do not have either these staffing issues or this customer service problem. (One might note that a restaurant that cannot keep its staff happy enough to stick around might have similar interpersonal problems with customers.) In general, we've found the quality of restaurants in Cocoa Beach to be very good, and all of the other upscale restaurants we have visited in the area have been very friendly and welcoming. I would strongly recommend giving business to one of them instead. read more
