After a day at the beach we googled restaurants around us and stopped here for dinner. It's located in a smaller plaza on the corner. The staff greeted us as soon as we walked in. It has a sports bar atmosphere with TVs all around the room. Lots of seating, it was moderately busy but not overly noisy. Has what appeared to be a full bar with seating around it. I ordered one of the daily catches in a sandwich, my sister got the mahalo poke bowl. Both were delicious. Our server checked on us numerous times and service was great. Prices were what I expected for a fresh seafood restaurant. Ranged from 12-20 for most items with some exceptions. I bookmarked this restaurant to return again next time I'm on vacation!
Went a second and third time on my work trip. Ron was my bartender last night and tonight. Last night he encouraged me To try the she crab and gave me a sample. Amazing. Told me to come back tomorrow for the trifecta(clam chowder). Walked in and the first thing he asked me is are you here for the clam chowder. It was so good. I suggested they do a three soup flight or sampler. Had the red fish for the second night and it was also fantastic. This is such a hidden gem. I cannot wait to come back here again.
Had a fabulous dinner at Bunky's. Started off with oysters that were fresh and meaty. The fired calamari was good but a bit too much breading. The seafood gumbo was delicious as was the she crab soup not shown. The blackened fish tacos were very good as was the grilled fish special of the day. There was also a crab cake sandwich not shown that I was told was good. . The Ahi Tuna BLT in my opinion was the best meal of the evening. So good with the crispy bacon, fresh perfectly cooked Ahi tuna and seasoned just right. I would order this again and again. The homemade key lime pie I was also told was good but the fresh chocolate chips were spot on. I just wished they would have come out a little warmer but that's my way of eating them not everyone's. Service was super friendly. Great looking happy hour with discounted menu including some drinks. If I lived here this place would be my regular stop. Needless to say I will be back on my next visit.
My husband and I had such a great experience at Bunky's Raw Bar and Grill! From the moment we walked in, the host greeted us warmly and even complimented my dress, which was such a nice touch. Our waitress, Angela, was incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home. She told us about the oysters and the catch of the day and was just so sweet and attentive throughout our meal. For food, I ordered the Catch #2 platter blackened along with six oysters, and my husband had the Ahi Tuna BLT. Everything was absolutely delicious and clearly fresh. The oysters were great, and the blackened platter was perfectly cooked. My husband loved his sandwich as well. What really stood out was the staff. Everyone was hustling, working hard, and still being genuinely kind and friendly. You can tell the team really cares about the experience they give their guests. My husband and I are only visiting for a week, but we will definitely be back before we leave. Thank you Angela and the entire Bunky's team for such an amazing meal and experience!
Just as good as I remembered! We came for lunch and were the first ones here. Our server, Elizabeth, was awesome and all of our food selections rocked! The raw oysters were great! I've had better Oysters Rockefeller, but the Bloody Maryland was definitely a hit and will be having again! The oyster shooters were splendid and the She crab soup perfect on this gloomy day.
If you're getting appetizers great but the main dishes lack flavor and appeal. The service, I had to get up and go find my waiter for melted butter and then ask the host where he is so we can pay and leave. I don't have a problem waiting but this was full blown disappearance. I found the ambiance kind of dark. I asked others at my table and a few agreed. My son and I got the special which was Red Snapper with ground or cut up shrimp with breadcrumbs on top. To tell you the truth the shrimp and breadcrumbs overrode the Red Snapper. I told our waiter this. My DIL and my daughter got the mussels that were supposed to be in white wine and garlic sauce but it was just water with minced garlic. No bueno. The appetizers, I had raw oysters very good, my son got the bang bang shrimp very good, and he also ordered the raw tuna no good, my daughter ordered the baked oysters very good. I took a census and we will not be going back. Too bad because I remember Bunkys from back in the day when they were at their first location and it's just gone down hill. By the way we watched a family of 4 come in wait over 10-15 minutes got up and left. The service was really bad.
While in town for my daughter's bridal shower, we were staying nearby and looking for a good place to eat. After checking Yelp, we decided to give Bunky's a try--and we're so glad we did! From the outside, it looks like a corner spot in a strip mall, but inside it has the feel of a sports bar with high-end seafood. The atmosphere, food, and service did not disappoint. The drinks were great and always flowing. We ordered three appetizers and our mains, and everything was excellent. We'll definitely be adding this to our list anytime we're back in the area.
Another 2nd post, that is well deserved, they just do it right, from the chow'da, oysters & entree's. I don't think anything they serve will make u mad, staff, atmosphere, great...
Our service was top notch. Our waitress explained the menu options well since it was our first time eating there. The food was amazing! I had the fried seafood sampler and that was the best shrimp I've ever had. Lightly breaded, perfectly cooked and seasoned. I'm so glad we stopped and we can't wait to go back.
We are out of towners and our cousins recommended we come here... Definitely a casual bar/restaurant-known for their seafood. Sports bar vibe. Parking was difficult (on a Tuesday night) they share a lot with Ichabods Bar & Grille maybe that's why? We were meeting another couple who arrived early and they ordered a couple appetizers, buffalo chicken dip and fried oysters. Took almost an hour for them to come out. Ridiculous! We also ordered a cup of clam chowder and a cup of gumbo soup and those took about a half hour to come out! Ridiculous! Our dinners were tasty, my husband loved the seafood pasta but absolutely positively not worth $40. I had the Mango Mahi bowl which was really good however the cook/chef overcooked the fish! Such a bummer- ruined a great piece of fish, the plantains were bomb!! Our server was really nice but seemed a little overwhelmed and the couple times we asked for something she seemed slightly annoyed. She also expressed her frustration with the kitchen because our appetizers took waaay too long. I don't know if I'd recommend eating here?
I'm not usually in Melbourne, but happened to be staying at the beach for a night with some family. We chose Bunky's Raw Bar& Grill as our dinner destination purely on the name as we all love oysters. We called ahead and they said it would be about a 15 minute wait, which was not an issue. We arrived checked in for our table and the wait time had grew to 35 minutes. ( in a small beach town you have to expect a decent wait time) it took about 45 minutes to get our table which was expected. We were sat near the entrance which I would have liked to not be in the path of everyone entering and leaving the restaurant but wasn't a deal breaker. Our server was very friendly. I don't recall her name. We started with cocktails and appetizers which were all perfect. (Refer to pictures) and I ordered the scallops for dinner. They could have been cooked a little less but still delicious. And then they brought me out a piece of key lime pie (as it was my birthday) it was fantabulous! I have no complaints about the experience company was great. He was nearly perfect. I will definitely return it and bring friends, and I will definitely go friends about this location if they were in the area.

I love this place and would highly recommend it. I gave it 4 stars because I was incredibly disappointed with the key lime pie--it had almost no flavor. I was also surprised by the quality of the silverware. The forks are so thin that they're actually uncomfortable to hold and can dig into your hand. Considering the price point , the quality of the silverware should reflect the overall dining experience. read more
We came across this place on our way to the beach. I'm glad we found it....mostly. The food was great....mostly. The fried fish taco so YUMMERs!!! Really delish and it has just the right amount of Cole slaw on it. The sauce on top was great too. We also had the snapper sandwich (fish #2). Delish. We had it blackened and it was perfect. A nice soft bun and a boom, great sandwich. Sorry, we forgot to take pictures. The not a winner was the oysters Rockefeller. Not great. Even the manager was like, we will take that off the bill. So don't order those. Bummer, they looked good. Our server, Summer, was awesome. She was on top of everything with a smile. Good job. The problem we had was the speed at which things came out. But we only rate (stats) the food and that was a solid 4-stars. The place is so clean too. And we loved the atmosphere. All in all we will be back. Need more of those fish tacos! Thanks. read more

We came here for the crab cake dinner --which my husband really enjoyed! I got the "Mango Mahi Bowl" which is under the "Greens and Grains" part of the menu. It was absolutely delicious! I got the grilled mahi blackened. The rice and black beans and avocado and the salsa were delicious with the fish. The fried plantains were perfectly freshly cooked and were nice and hot. Service was good and the food was great--for that I give 5 stars! The ambiance is that of a casual neighborhood bar with tons of TV screens, all tuned to various different channels. If this were on the water, or a more comfortable place to sit rather than a table and chairs in a bar--I'd give 5 stars. read more

[Overview]: Overall 10/10 experience! Everytime I come here it's always have a great experience. The restaurant has big windows letting in natural lighting which is always nice in my opinion. Our waitress today was Cheyenne, she was very pleasant and sweet. SUPER knowledgeable about menu items and drink selections. She made great recommendations, I would definitely request her next time! The food is great every time, I always highly recommend this restaurant! I ordered the [coconut mojito] and the [whiskey thistle] mixed drinks, both were very good and well balanced in alcohol to mixer ratio. [Baja Tacos] 10/10. Perfect tacos! Savory, buttery, crispy beer batter fried fish with sweet slaw served with a tangy/zesty sauce. Very simple but amazing in taste! [Shrimp Platter]: 10/10. Perfect meal to have after hitting the beach, you can leave feeling good and satisfied. The shrimp was fresh and cooked well, the slight char from the grill added great flavor. The grilled zucchini and asparagus are always awesome! [Addon Crab Cake]: 8/10. This was very fresh and I appreciated the large chunks of crab throughout! It was not dry the only thing I would nitpick is it could have used a tad more seasoning, whether it be butter, old bay, etc. I did squeeze lemon on it and that helped. But overall it was still very good! [Pretzels] 10/10. Accompanied with great dipping sauce options. Crispy with big chunks of salt on the outside and super soft and pillowy on the inside, these are a great starter! read more

I have been to Bunky's twice in 8 years. The first time, many years ago, and it was a very BAD experience. (Hence the lack of return... until now). Everyone deserves a second chance and I am SO GLAD I gave them another try. So much so, I will be going often. The ambiance is nothing special. It's crowded and loud. It feels cramped. However... The service was very good! Our waitress was knowledgeable and kind. She was quick and attentive. What else can one ask for? I was craving oysters and seafood soup and this place had a nice selection of both. The oysters were the perfect size and temp. Not too big, nor too small. But they were plump, fresh without tasting salty or with grit. The usual sides of cocktail and horseradish were accompanied. The clam chowder was not too thick nor too thin. Lots of flavor with tons of clams that were cut into smaller chunks so that it wasn't the only flavor or texture to overwhelm the rest of the soup. Our party had a wonderful time and I can speak for us all in saying we will all be doing another's girls night there soon. read more

I found this place on yelp and I'm so glad I did. I was passing through on a road trip and wanted something light. This was perfect. Had a local bar feel which I love. The service was great. Nice people around. I really enjoyed the fish dip. The oysters weren't sucked properly which was disappointing but the blue points were tasty regardless. I would come back if in town again ! read more

Came here for dinner on a Tuesday night around 6pm and it was pretty packed. We were seated right away though. Came here for the oysters and glad they had it. We ordered the sampler platter that came with 3 different oysters from Virgina, Connecticut, and Massachusetts. They were all pretty good. I think I prefer the Connecticut more. If you aren't a fan of raw oysters, the fire grilled oysters are pretty flavorful. Also, for the smoked fish dip that came with chips and veggies with sides of jalapeño, tomatoes, and onions for an extra fee. Adding the onions and jalapeños on top of the fish dip was pretty good. It gave it a kick. Get the fish dip, you won't regret it. I didn't enjoy the drink we had order, it was a bust. Staff was friendly and attentive on clearing the tables. Plenty of television around the restaurant. read more
