With such a prime location right on the beach, it feels like it could be an incredible restaurant and a serious revenue generator, but unfortunately, it doesn't seem like much has been invested into the property. I was surprised to hear that it supposedly has the same owners as Dijon's Restaurant up the street, which has a much more polished and upscale feel. The difference between the two is pretty dramatic. During our visit, a lot of the staff seemed to be standing around waiting for customers, and the whole place just felt like it was missing some energy. The outdoor dining area is dated and not particularly inviting. The windows and exterior show plenty of wear from the beach weather--which is understandable in this location--but the overall space still needs some attention. If you do eat here, I'd recommend staying downstairs. Upstairs had more of a pool hall/dude-hangout vibe and definitely wasn't where I'd choose for a romantic weekend dinner with my wife. This feels more like a beach-day, grab-some-grub kind of place that happens to occupy the building of a much larger restaurant. There's a ton of potential here, but right now, they're really missing the ball on what this location could be. Probably would not return unless the place gets a significant refresh. read more

So disappointed. We have been coming here for years as a family tradition when we visit Florida. Already knew what was going to order based on the menu online. Got to the restaurant and the elevator was not working so we had to sit downstairs where it is stuffier and less of a view. The menu for breakfast had changed and was meager!!! I had the avocado toast. Nothing special. My husband had the pancakes. They were fluffy. The server was gracious, the hostess could really careless as she continued to lean on the podium. Asked about the menu online and was told "yeah, it changed awhile a go, but the owners haven't updated the website." We will now be looking for a new family tradition. read more

Gorgeous view of the beach. It waa definitely a vibe. The service was great and staff was super friendly . Food was good. The lobster bisque was tasty. The reunen sandwich had a bit too much sauerkraut. My Mahi mahi was a bit overcooked and the sauce was broken.the broccoli also seemed like i waa close to going bad which made it disappointing that It waa served to me. We went here after seeing a lobster Reuben on the menu. And it's right on the beach. There are multiple levels to the restaurant, and I think we dined on 2. The area was open and we were seated at a 4 top. I had a beer which was pretty good, and we both enjoyed the lobster reubens. The sandwich was big and had lots of the lobster meat mix. There was one other table and 2 kids were running around the dining area next to us, tho the table kept telling them to stop. It was a relief when they finally left. There's a path right to the beach at the back, which is great for sunset viewing. We drove about 20 miles from our hotel to dine here, and overall it was a good experience. read more

The shrimp and grits were amazing. Hummus appetizer rocked as well. Ahi tuna was bland, and lobster Reuben is way over rated. There is no AC here either. Me and a group of friends came here after mimosas at a different location we had Margaritas we did not eat any food so I can't fully review the place with the margaritas were good & the service was good. I do like the view of the beach from the location and would give it another chance if I went there first and not after somewhere else. read more

Sand on the Beach has been better each time we go. Three of us went on a Friday evening to go for some seafood. When we arrived, the bartender greeted us and let us know that we would be seated shortly. A lovely woman walked over asked if we preferred upstairs or downstairs. We said downstairs, and she sat us. We ordered the calamari with jalapeño and it was very tasty and perfectly cooked. We then ordered shrimp quesadilla's which were the best I've had. They had great flavor and came with pico de gallo and sour cream. Great dish and overall, excellent experience while having a beautiful beach view. read more

I come here often for brunch, lunch and dinner. Great location with amazing views of the beach. A place where locals and visitors come. When you enter you will find a bar and plenty of seating overlooking the beach. If its too warm out you can head upstairs where you can dine inside in the air-conditioned dining room. We were seated and our order was taken, but only half of our party's order was recorded before the server walked away without asking the others. We had to call her back to take the rest of the orders. Another server then spilled sauce on the floor and table, which splattered into someone's eyes and all over our clothes. Our main server didn't even ask if we were okay and seemed unconcerned about the situation. Service was very slow overall, and we repeatedly had to wave down the server for assistance. Been there several times the past 2 months for breakfast. Don't recommend for breakfast. Small menu and you have to ask to have butter so you can butter YOUR own cold toast. Waitresses don't bring condiments to table or napkins. No fan's outside where you eat with the flies. You have to basically ask for everything (water, napkins, ketchup) they don't compare to Grille's. This place has been around along time and it's starting to show on the inside and out. read more

We had lunch downstairs, and the food is very average. The tuna wrap seemed to be missing the mango aioli, and the side of arugula was not dressed; I'm not sure who eats raw arugula with no dressing. The onion rings were pretty good. Service was fine--not overly friendly, but fine. Overall, come for drinks and views, and skip the food. read more

My friend ordered a hamburger with bacon and cheese. I got the seared ahi tuna tacos And a cucumber crush cocktail. Nothing but a laid back relaxing experience here. The menu has a pretty big variety of seafood, salads and rice bowls. They also serve breakfast til 11. Today (10/2023) we went here just for drinks. It is a nice upstairs bar and good service again. There are not many options for beach bars on that side of Melbourne Beach, and we love location and the views (also we love that we can bring our dogs on the first level). We come here every year when we are on vacation and years ago, I thought the food and drinks were amazing. However, for the past couple years, it's more of a tradition to go there rather than me truly enjoying the place. The food was ok, but nothing spectacular. The cocktails tasted ok, but felt very weak and didn't really give a buzz. I usually do one cocktail and have a few options I choose from, and Margarita is one of those cocktails that usually hits me harder, but after having one here, I didn't feel like I even had a drink. Other people at dinner felt the same way. Also, I know the prices are going up everywhere, but I found cocktails to be quite expensive compared to other places. Loved it ! Great service very attentive servers, the ambience is beautiful. You're right on the beach and very comfortable seating. The food came out fairly fast around 20-30 minutes. The food overall was good. I got the breakfast basics and it was quite yummy, if you like gravy I would recommend adding it on the side. My friends got the burger, she mentioned it could use some more flavor but overall it was good. My other friend got the lobster soup it came out cold but the flavor was amazing once it was reheated! The taste and quality we experienced were quite good. Of course the menu prices seem to tax guests for the view... the quality of the mahi wrap and beach burger was 4/5 or better. They charged enough to include fries, but all sides are above and beyond menu pricing. Considering 5 ounces of fries costs the restaurant less than $.20. It reflects poorly.
