We let them know ahead of time there was a birthday and they had a nice card and the menus each said birthday wishes printed on them. Very nice touch. Gabriella took care of us and we did not feel rushed at all. A nice dining experience to catch up with friends. Started with Kim Chee Calamari app and Firecracker Shrimp. Both very good. Worried about spice but heat was regulated well and added to the dish. We had the Miso Sake Black Cod. Bill says Sablefish???? It was a good portion but not really enough and there was a tad too much miso soup. And with no sides included it was a an OK value. Bronzed salmon and crab was a big hit and very delicious. Came with a salad and a dessert. Good value since it was so good. Caesar salad was good and the crème brûlée was also very good. Off the early dine menu the Chimichurri steak and shrimp was tender and the shrimp well seasoned. It also came with soup or slad and New England Clam chowder served was very good. Crème brûlée to finish and all good. Another in our party had Halibut and lobster risotto and while tasty fell short of the sixty dollar price tag with no sides on portion alone. The night was very enjoyable. Of the two experiences we have had happy hour is probably best value but is very busy. They did a good job making our night special. read more

We started at the bar, which has an excellent vibe, then moved to a beautiful table with a stunning water view -- complete with a pod of dolphin frolicking right in front of us. Service was spot‑on. The shrimp cocktail was good, and both the blackened grouper and my steak were fresh and well‑prepared. The kimchee fried calamari tasted more like a bang‑bang style dish, with no real kimchee flavor. The only real miss was the lobster tail -- oddly white, no browning, and a strange taste that made it inedible. The favorite item I ordered was the coconut shrimp appetizer. For my entree I had the Macadamia crusted grouper, which was good but a little dry. My husband had the prime rib which he felt had a good flavor but cooked more than the medium rare he ordered it. Overall it was a very good experience. Well, my friends have always gone here and we just never made it here just so many amazing restaurants to eat in Melbourne Florida so we finally decided to go eat there an early dinner. Walked in was greeted by the host very personable, and saw the view of the ocean or the bay, very beautiful, mesmerizing, and relaxing. The interior design is dark and moody and sexy. They gathered our menus and seated us right at a Window View. Waited a minute and the waitress. I think her name was. Ashley was so amazing so a so at tentative so knowledgeable. She took our drink order. She allowed me to take some wines and was able to pick a nice Sauvignon Blanc brought bread to the table with butter that was warm and fresh and soft and buttery. We looked over the menu. I saw that there was a vegetable medley. I asked her if I could have the vegetable medley with my swordfish she said yes she was very accommodating and with that Cajun dipping sauce was so good. The swordfish was tender a little firm because it is swordfish please with that buttery Cajun spicy sauce was chefs kiss. Nice size portions. I was so hungry. I finished it all. I genuinely did not have complaints for this place. At all. My food was great. We went there for nye dinner 2025. They had limited menu but it was plenty to choose from, also not too expensive which i did not expect. Good was great quality, my fish was incredible and flakey, risotto was cooked just right, not too firm but not overcooked either. Our waiter made one mistake but he corrected it quickly, and actually not too attentive which was great, i don't enjoy people interrupting my meal multiple times, he did a great job! Place looked clean and professional, and it was professional, not too relaxed. I am glad people didn't come there in shorts but in nicer clothes. Overall great place, good experience and great service. Since it's pricy i won't go there way too often but will definitely keep it in mind for date nights. P.S. Celebrated my birthday dinner last night with family. Wonderful experience. Started with cocktails at the bar, Grey Goose extra dry martini with bleu cheese stuffed olives - yummy. When seated at our window side table the menus were personalized wishing me a Happy Birthday - such a nice touch (and they were presented to me after dinner nicely rolled and tied with ribbon). Dinner was the best I've had there: toasted fig spring green salad with cranberries and candied walnuts finished with a vanilla fig balsamic dressing. We all dined on the Sea bass and lobster risotto, a generous portion (took half of mine home). This was accompanied by sautéed mushrooms and asparagus. **INITIAL REVIEW** Usually when it comes to reviewing local restaurants and businesses, I often give a five-star review on the initial review as I insist the fifth star is for consistency. However, my initial visit with family at The Chart House exceeded my expectations. It is truly the definition of Melbourne fine dining on the riverfront, as in the fine dining experience overlooking the polluted Indian River while women wear tropical flower dresses and men where Hawaiian collared shirts, khaki shorts, and upscale Krocs. In short, my family and I dressed in accordance to the locale, but overdressed in accordance to the locals. Go fig right? Still, The Chart House delivered an amazing night worth remembering, an excellent birthday gift to give my stepdad on his birthday. Though an address is provided, Chart House is located on the eastside of US-1 (Jimmy Buffet Highway) within Historic Downtown Melbourne/Melbourne Main Street. If it further helps, they are in the park with the boat drop and the town's oldest post office. On the outside, The Chart House looks like any fine dining establishment. Take note that valet parking is complimentary, but it is often rude not to tip the valet driver. So bring at least a $5 bill to hand to them. Only fair to do such. Inside, typical fine dining setup with a bar in the middle. We sat near the windows which gave us a beautiful view of the Indian River... if it weren't for the rain. No, I won't fault The Chart House for that, like they can control the weather. Our waitress, Allison, was very kind and provided insight on what we should get. One of the things I was on the fence on was the crab cake. I love crab cakes, but the prices are typical of riverside fine dining, and the last thing I wanted was a small crab cake for a $20 pricetag. Fortunately, it was a decently-sized crab cake and the fixins' brought out more to its flavor. Not only that, this is one of the few crab cakes I ate that had no shell cut into it. The Chart House was really articulate in making sure in such. The rest of the food my family and I received were of the highest caliber for sure. Altogether, we ordered the specialty lunch they had which consisted of: oysters on the half shell, kimche-fried calamari, firecracker shrimp, spinach dip and toast, baked salmon alaska with veggies, shrimp lingunie, filet mignot medallions, and the pork roast. Everything was succulent, easy-to-cut, cooked to preference and perfection. Overall, just delicious. We also got to try out the creme brulee which was delicious. This is the one I would say doesn't stand out from others, but they still made it to par with the highest standards. Ultimately, I would bring people back here again, but take into account it is fine dining so you get that fine dining price. The total bill for our meal, divided among four people was $280. That means everyone's meal was an average of $70. Fortunate my mom needed to use up all those restaurant gift cards before they expire. But to be fair, the price is what I expected and I was ready to pay. Just know they do have gift card options so if you have them, use them. As I said, The Chart House really did an amazing job and I will give them a five-out-of-five star review. They made that much of an impact on me that I am willing to give them this kind of rating in this review. My friend and I came in for dinner on a Saturday night. It was still fairly full after Happy Hour and sat at the bar. Cara took care of us. We had a few drinks, I started with an Espresso martini w/ a bit of Baileys added (bartender suggestion-and a good one might I add) my friend had a Pear martini. Both were delicious! I ordered the mussels appetizer as my main dish and my friend had the filet with mashed potatoes. Food was amazing. *chefs kiss*. We weren't feeling dessert after but the Butterfly Effect martini caught our eye and it's a whole show when presented. Nice high-end seafood and steakhouse with beautiful views. Happy hour here is definitely worth the visit, with a great selection of small bites and drinks at a good value. I ordered the kim chee calamari, firecracker shrimp, spinach and artichoke dip, truffle skinny fries, coconut crunchy shrimp, lettuce wraps, lobster tartare, and burger sliders. Everything was flavorful and perfect for sharing. The pomegranate mojito was refreshing. The atmosphere is really nice, especially around sunset, and the drinks were solid. 10 out of 10 does not even begin to describe this place. My husband and I were looking for a local place to celebrate our first wedding anniversary and someone recommended Chart House. I am so glad they did. The place is absolutely beautiful with a gorgeous view and if you're lucky a few dolphins might pop out of the water for you. The service is top notch. They made us feel so incredibly special for our night out, from the special menus printed for us to the desert with a candle, I could not have asked for more. Those are the kind of things a lot of other places just don't do. Monica was fantastic as our server. Now the food...oh my gosh the food...my husband said it was some of the best food he has ever had and he's lived down here his entire life. He loved his coconut shrimp appetizer and his Mahi. My steak was cooked absolutely perfectly. The crème brulee desert was to die for. Sure it comes with a price tag but to me with how wonderful the complete experience was I am okay with paying a higher price. I decided to check out this restaurant because it had good reviews but what really sold me was that it was right by the water and my best friend and myself were already staying by the coast in Melbourne so this was a perfect spot to grab some quick bites and drinks. The other thing that caught my eye was happy hour of course! They run it from 4-6pm and it ranged with good variety of drink options and food options that were all so delicious! Had to try out their truffle Parmesan fries, calamari, and lettuce cups, although I would have tried the whole happy hour menu of only I had the appetite to do so! There were no available spots at the bar so my bestie and I had the table section next to the bar which was nice to have but I couldn't see the water too much, still a gorgeous view! Just a heads up there is courtesy valet, which when it's busy they only offer that so there's usually not many spots if any for self parking. I love the 4-6pm daily happy hour - I came on a Saturday and enjoyed all of their inexpensive but delicious drinks on the patio. There isn't much of a view from the patio but the place is nice and service was upscale. Mojitos are like $6 and there are a ton of inexpensive appetizers to choose from. I felt like the only appetizer I really enjoyed were the coconut shrimp and the fish tacos. The prime rib sliders were alright and same for the tuna crisps. A reminder to those considering Chart House for Thanksgiving "Oh, Chart House, I wanted your Thanksgiving turkey dinner to be remarkable, but I cannot recommend ordering the turkey dinner meal. The turkey portion was generous but very salty. My serving had dried-out edges from reheating, and there was no dark meat available--clearly, the turkey was carved elsewhere. The stuffing was also salty and dry on edges from over/reheating. My portion of mashed potatoes was embarrassingly tiny. The cranberry sauce was yummy, but likely because it was not made in-house. The pumpkin pie was a miss, as it was flavorless and topped with Cool Whip. I would have hoped that the Chart House would make their own whipped cream. Cool Whip?! Ugh. I think we went wrong ordering a meal they only serve once a year and should have opted for a dinner that is consistently on the menu. There was loud, dance/club music playing in the background--so odd. We spent $250+ for three people ($65 per person, plus coffees and tip) for a very subpar meal. I got there early and parked my car about halfway back in their massive parking lot. Apparently all the spots except for like 5 in the very back are complimentary valet. Instead of asking me if I wanted to pull around and use valet he made me move my car to the back of the lot. I left. Very weird especially considering it's free valet. read more

Our cousin was coming in from out of state, and we hadn't seen her in over 5 years. We made reservations for a Tuesday at 6:30PM. To ensure we weren't late, half of the party arrived at 6:15, the other half were in the restaurant by 6:32. We were seated around 7:09. We asked for bread. About 17 minutes later we received it. At that time we put in our tables order- skirt steak, filet mignon, shrimp pasta (which also had the Caesar salad and lava cake) and two kids cheeseburgers. We also had one order of a glass of wine, 2 waters, 2 diet cokes and one sprite. We asked for another order of bread at around 7:45. The waiter at 7:50ish brought out steak sauce for one dish. At 8:20 our meals came out. No mention of the delay by the waiter, at any point. The burgers were more rare than medium as requested, as well as the filet mignon. The broccolini was tasteless. The butter sauce on the pasta tasted like pasta water, no flavor whatsoever, I had to add salt and pepper to make it palatable and the 4 shrimp included had the texture of overcooked chicken. The Cesar dressing was interesting and not in a good way. We paid $150 for our bill which included 2 of the drinks, 2 adult entrees and 2 kids meals. To say we left disappointed was saying it lightly. Was it nice inside? Sure- There's pride in aesthetics. Did we enjoy seeing the dolphin in the water- it was a treat for the kids. But this was one of the most disappointing dining experiences for price that we've had in a while. If the food had been good, then the service wouldn't be a focus. The lava cake was the best part and that wasn't even amazing. The manager came around. We could have voiced our complaints but at that point we had complained so much to each other we were just trying to enjoy each other's company and felt it would've taken away from the night. Someone from Landry (parent company) responded that they would love to hear more. When I went to the site to elaborate you were allowed only a limited number of characters so I called to try to speak to someone in customer service. I left THREE messages over a week and a half because you can't get a live person and no one ever called back. I realized I could use the directory to leave a message for Sawyer A. (Who responded to my review). No call back. I then called the manager at the chart house-he said I would be receiving a gift certificate from the company--it's been over 3 weeks and I haven't received anything. I called back and he didn't seem to care. I dine out a lot-from chains to higher end and have never experienced anything like this. Appalling from a restaurant of this caliber. To make matters worse, we were celebrating a 40th birthday and it was that person's dinner that was missing. The food runner offered apologies, and said it would be right out. 11 minutes later the manager arrived with the entree and a half hearted apology. When we began to protest he turned on his heal and put both hands up like it was beyond his control. Insult to injury, was the late meal was a disaster. Someone at the table ordered the exact same dish (and sadly began eating before realizing the birthday girl wasn't served) and the two dishes were nothing alike. When the server finally made the table touch, she knew the vibe had changed and when the meal was returned barely touched it was only "sorry you didn't like it" with no offer to fix it.
