Came to Blackfins at Capt Hiram's for lunch on a Saturday and had a fantastic experience! We were seated outside, which was perfect since we had our dogs with us. It's great that they allow dogs on the deck, and they even brought water for our pups! I ordered the swordfish sandwich special ($23) and got it blackened - absolutely delicious! My boyfriend had the prime rib dip sandwich ($16), and he loved it too. It was super filling and tasty. Our waiter was amazing - so friendly which made the experience even better. The vibe here is really laid-back and welcoming, and the view of the water and dock was beautiful. Definitely recommend this spot if you're in the area! The bar looks like a blast too, especially for a night out!

After a fun day on the boat, we docked at Capt Hiram's and went in for lunch. The view is breathtaking! We chose to dine at BlackFin (a bit more upscale restaurant vs their more casual one, being there are two at this resort) We sat next to the water by open windows and listened to the waves and birds all around while basking in the sun and feeling the airs breeze. We had cold beer to start and an order of their perfectly battered and fried Calamari. The kind with rings and tentacles (my favorite) and a side of cocktail sauce. Wonderful! Next came the fish and chips. Hot and fresh! The batter was on the light and airy side and not too dense. The fries could have been crispier, but seasoned beautifully with skin on. Very yummy! The Cuban was just ok. Nothing to rave about but enjoyable with PERFECT onion rings. The grouper sandwich was great! Lots of flavor on the blanked fish with all the right veg. The Cobb salad was outstanding! Loaded with bacon bits, blue cheese and perfectly blackened chicken (dressing was ordered on the side) Service was very kind and attentive. Capt Hirams is a unique and beloved spot for those who are out on the boat and need a good meal, those who are vacationing and want a beautiful atmosphere or the locals. Its view and decor feels like paradise

We have dined in several times and the food has been good. Yesterday, was the first time we ate out on Thanksgiving Day and it was a little disappointing. I guess we had higher expectations for this holiday meal. We had reservations for 4:30 and they were already out of brussel sprouts. Turkey was moist, ham was dry, cornbread stuffing was salty and replacement veggies were soggy. Everything was lukewarm. The best things we had were the rolls and cranberry relish. We'll be back for their regular menu but unfortunately not for Thanksgiving dinner. Hostesses and servers were friendly. The place was nicely decked out with Christmas decor.

The place is very pretty we loved the view of the water. The waitress was very sweet and fast with our drinks. Food took a little longer and I was extremely disappointed with my Eggs Benedict that were boiled not poached. The yoke was fully cooked on both pieces. My daughter also had the eggs Benedict and only 1 of her eggs were actually poached. However the flavor of the hollandaise sauce was good. Potatoes were good as well, crispy.

We had a 20% off coupon so we thought we would try dinner since our drinks the other night worked out well. I can't remember the name of my drink, but it was very orangey and refreshing. The menu is geared more toward seafood, which is what I would expect based on the area. I am not a seafood fan, but knew I could find something. I started off with the Maryland Crab Soup, which arrived hot. Yay! The flavor was good, but I don't think there was any crab in it. My entree was a grilled chicken sandwich with fries. The sandwich was fine, nothing special. Service was lacking and the place wasn't even crowded.

Atmosphere - Good. But then I like tiki type restaurants with water views. Everything is very rustic. The bar and seating is outside dining. Service - very good. This is where the restaurant shined for me. Our server (Pam) was very pleasant and attentive. Food - Sub Par. We were there for breakfast. I ordered an omelette with American cheese, peppers and onions. It came with potatoes too that they called home fries (which were cubed potatoes that were extremely salty) and an English muffin. The omelette spent far too long on the grill and it was incredibly thin and dry. It was the reverse for the English muffin, which had to have spent only seconds in the toaster. Overall Value - poor. To be honest, if the same omelette was offered at half the price, I would still find another place to eat.

Great seating by the water, food was overall good, however potatoes could have been homemade. They seemed to be readymade frozen breakfast potatoes. My family loved the Cajun shrimp and grits and was the main reason we had breakfast here. Breakfast sandwich was good as well. We had an attentive waitress, but we were also one of only 3 groups in the restaurant.

A lovely place. Good food. Right on the water. Be careful of the rain. Blackfins at Capt Hiram's in Sebastian, Florida, delivered a tasty lunch in a casual, tropical setting. I ordered the roast beef dip sandwich, and it was absolutely excellent--perfectly seasoned, tender meat on a toasted hoagie with a rich, flavorful au jus for dipping. It came with a generous portion of fries and hit the spot for a satisfying waterfront meal. The staff was friendly, the service was prompt, and the whole place has that laid-back, beachy vibe that makes you want to linger a bit longer. That said, there's a word to the wise--watch where you sit. We opted for an outside table to enjoy the view and breeze, but when a torrential downpour suddenly hit, chaos followed. Many tables were completely exposed, and guests got soaked scrambling for cover. While parts of the outdoor area have awnings or umbrellas, they don't offer full protection for their tables or occupants from a strong Florida rainstorm. If the skies look even slightly questionable, pick your spot with care--or be ready to move tables quickly. Despite the weather hiccup, I'd definitely go back for the food and the fun atmosphere. Just maybe I'll check the radar first next time.

We were seated quickly. We didn't have any issue parking. The staff was nice. Our server Sparkles was great. She refilled out drinks, she let us know when food was coming, and she checked in to see if we needed anything. She was on top of everything. The food.... Clam chowder was good, there was clam in there you could actually see $8 Calamari was good, the person who ordered it enjoyed it $14 Tacos $2 additional cost for mahi. The chunk of fish was a nice size for the taco instead of small pieces. It was dry but malt vinegar helped. I don't remember the price, $14-?16? The rice and beans were terrible. They were not eaten, the rice tasted like it had been heated up several times. The lime was dry and wouldn't squeeze any juice out. Kids tenders and fries were good, as expected. I'm giving 3 stars because I expected for it to be a seafood spot for this to be on point, for it to be a very popular resort in the area, for this to blow us away.

It was so nice to walk across the street from our hotel and get a nice dinner . My friends order the scallops with pasta and it looked very good . I ordered the island taco bowl that was super filling . I was glad it was not greasy but cooked to perfection . Atmosphere was super nice as well as the view . Service was very good too .

It's all about the vibe here. Waterside dining. Relaxed pub food with snappy service and reasonable prices make this a fun place to eat and a good choice for families and boaters coming in off the Lagoon (as we did). Blackfins is part of Capt Hiram's Resort, with adjacent bars, kiosks, live music and fun times. Food isn't bad, either. Go for the conch fritters.

    Fish & Chips

What an experience! Blackfins waiters were very respectful and timely. For an appetizer I had the crab stuffed mushrooms which were very delicious, with just the right amount of butter on top. For the main meal, the Fish & Chips was a perfect portion fried to perfection. Lastly the margarita was just what I was looking for to cool off from the hot temperatures. If you are in the Sebastian area this is a must go to try!!

Last week we had drinks and I ordered a Margarita less OJ like I always do. It was straight sour mix on ice. Verified by 2 people at the table. I told the server that I think they forgot the tequila. She came back with the same drink and said the bar said "its because I skipped the OJ" ?? Well that would make it taste like sour and OJ wouldnt it? It still wouldnt taste like Tequila because there was none in it. Tje poor server agreed with me and apologized. She also said management will not let them freepour anymore and they are mandated to use jiggers. She said there had been several complaints about drink quality. I left the full drink , minus 3 tastings , on the table. Not only didnt they remake it, they charged me for it. Fast forward a week and we had friends visiting so we took the to the tiki to eat lunch. Everyone had mahi , 2 fried, one blackened. The blackened dish was cut up like french fries and drier than dirt. No one ate it. The fried plates were terribly fishy. I eat fresh mahi routinely and this wasnt fresh by any means. Im afraid we are going to have to find somewhere else to visit. There just aint much good around there anymore but the views, the music and the conch fritters ( but even they werent that great last time)

We live just down the road in Vero Beach, so discovering a neighborhood tavern with this much charm practically in our backyard was a real win. We had already eaten lunch at Nini's Cuban across the parking lot, so we stopped in just for a beer. Within minutes we were pulled straight into the atmosphere. Nancy, the bartender and proprietor, is the kind of host every small tavern dreams of. Warm, funny, and completely at ease, she makes newcomers feel like long‑time regulars while keeping the whole place running smoothly. The beer selection is far better than you would expect from a cozy local spot. There is a rotating craft lineup that rivals bigger bars, along with the classics and a surprisingly solid wine list. We spent half our visit sipping and the other half laughing at the hilarious signs covering the walls and at the antics of a couple of regulars who clearly keep the place lively. We have not tried the food yet, but the vibe alone guarantees we will be back and we will be coming hungry. This is the kind of place where you settle in, meet the locals, and let the afternoon drift. For the record, our beer of choice that day was "Cougar Bait." It is as much fun to drink as it is to say!

From the moment I slid onto a barstool, I knew I was in for something special -- and not just because the beer list reads like a love letter to hop heads and casual sippers alike. Each pint poured is thoughtful, crisp, and refreshing, with local craft brews rubbing shoulders beside tried‑and‑true favorites. I lost count somewhere around the third flight, but honestly? Worth it. And then there's Nancy, the bartender -- sweet lord, if every tavern had her warmth and precision, we'd all be happier people. She recommended beers without braggy pretension, anticipated refills like a mind reader, and managed a perfect balance of friendly conversation and professional grace. Her service alone is worth the trip. Great food, killer beers, and a bartender who makes you feel like a VIP? Village Tavern doesn't just raise the bar -- it is the bar.

We had a bit of a wait so we went to the Green Cabin room for a couple of drinks. Beautiful lounge with beautiful views of the ocean. When our table was ready we asked if we could bring our drinks to the restaurant and the bartender said we would have to transfer drinks into to go cups and they would transfer them back into glassware as soon as we were seated. When we were seated a manager type person said our server was busy with a huge order and he was more than happy to help. He did accommodate us with getting the glassware for our drinks. He also took our order to help out with our server. My wife ordered the chicken salad with avocado and the French onion soup. I ordered the mahi mahi fish and chips. I have to say the fish and chips were some of the best. Four fish planks with tasted like a home made tartar sauce. They laid on a good portion of fries that were cooked well. The restaurant was a quaint nautical themed place with a nice atmosphere. We had the festive center piece due to the Christmas season. The server I think forgot our French Onion soup and brought it to us a bit late in the dinner. It was a hardy soup and we couldn't figure out what was causing a sweet taste to it. Maybe they used a sweet onion in the recipe. When we received the bill it had a 25 dollar corking fee place on the bill and we had to remind our server they we brought them from the bar and he was more than happy to take it off the bill. Overall the restaurant put out great food at a little bit higher price point, but well worth the experience. If we come back to the resort we will definitely plan on having dinner here again.
