This was a fun spot with a laid-back, lively atmosphere. There was a live band playing, which added a lot of energy and made it feel like a good place to hang out, have a drink, and enjoy the vibe. Our waitress was also super nice and friendly, which definitely helped the overall experience. Food-wise, it was a little hit or miss. The fish and chips were the better choice -- the fish had a nice golden batter, good portion size, and the fries were seasoned well and enjoyable. The coleslaw and tartar sauce rounded it out nicely. The burger, unfortunately, was dry and a bit overcooked. From the texture, it just didn't have much juiciness left, so that part was disappointing. Overall, I'd say the atmosphere and service were the highlights, while the food was mixed. I'd give it 3/5 stars -- fun place to visit, especially for live music, but I'd probably stick with the fish and chips next time. read more

I'm a huge fan of Riverside Cafe. Food is usually very good and fresh, and bartender Chris is one of the best in the business! However last week I ordered a 'Lobster Roll' only to find out it was Krab-a cheap replacement for fish, mixed with purple onion. I found no lobster! Come on, don't try and fool us-be honest and say 'imitation Krab' salad! and charge accordingly! read more

Enjoyed this meal with friends in Vero Beach! The decor is beach themed & walls display hilarious fish art painted by locals. Gotta give high praise to our terrific server Marianna. She made great recommendations, & checked on our table often even though her station was crazy busy. Wife & I split the calamari. It was lightly breaded & not oily or greasy as you find in some places. Both entrees had a side of their home made potato salad which was super fresh. Wife had the grilled fish wrap & loved it. I had the Crabby Pig, a fried soft shell crab on pork belly sandwich. I have to say this was the only thing I really didn't enjoy. The breading was way too heavy and hid the taste of the crab. Awesome place right on the river, perfect for sunsets. It was busy in there but service was spot on. We ordered appetizers for dinner: onion rings, nachos, crab dip, and peel and eat shrimp. The food was good- slightly above average. The atmosphere was fair. The wait for a table outside was over an hour so we ate inside. It was very loud and really nothing special in decor. Basically just tables and chairs in a large room. The server was friendly but not really that attentive. Food did come out fast. Started my meal at Riverside Cafe with the bang bang shrimp, they were perfectly crispy! Then I had the fish and chips, and wow, the breading was well seasoned, crispy and light, and the fish was tender and flaky. I also tried the crab pig sandwich, which was tasty, and satisfied my crab cravings. The whole experience had a great customer service and beachy vibe that made the meal even better. Great local cafe. A bit tricky to find as it is behind rental shop and looks like there's just another building. There's main room, bar area with music and outdoor sitting by the water. We've got there around 4pm and the place was pretty busy and got even busier later on. Our server was very nice and quick. We've got clam chowders, onion rings and fish and chips. Everything was very tasty. We also tried key lime pie and crème brûlée which I don't recommend as they were not the proper ones. I do take my desserts very seriously. While staying at Disney's Vero Beach resort we went to Riverside Cafe and were so happy we did. From the minute we walked in the hostess was super nice and showed us to an outside covered table on the river. The food and service was fantastic. If we lived closer this could be our regular place. Great live music inside and lots of TVs for sporting events. It started to rain as we left the wonderful hostess lent us her umbrella to get to our car! read more

We ordered the fish and chips; it was good but the fries weren't cooked with fresh oil and they were luke warm, not hot; like they had been sitting awhile. I hate that. The steamed shrimp was very good! The server was excellent with a wonderful personality (my favorite part of the night). Their drinks seemed to be very weak (draw your own conclusions). ABIG fat NO .. hubby salad came out .. litterly tossed it in the table and gone again .. which were to share but i guess we were to eat with our hands as we had no silverware .. and about a teaspoon of dressing .. again back to hosset stand to ask for silverware and a manager .. she passes a few times but so fast that there was no catching her .. finally she stopped by to say our dinners would be out shortly .. told her that we needed more dressing as the container was nearly empty when it was served .. now after that it's another 30 min still no dinners .. again to hostess stand to again get a manager as we wanted to just leave .. been there at the table for over 2 hrs and no main course while other tables who sat after us were already done .. manager came just after our dinner was served but without the extras we requested .. we explained to him the issues Steven was very understanding and said he would adjust the bill .. that wasn't what i was looking for i merely wanted him to know how bad it was .. i at this point lost my appetite .. hubby ate his steak and my burger .. she finally showed up again we asked for bill .. and container for his fries and veggies .. she proceeded to try to take our plates why .. she brought boxes to other tables .. i pulled them back and said i would do it .. dropped a small box and gone again .. another 30 min and we got up to go to hostess stand to pay our bill .. at this point we had spoked to three hosts snd a manager .. took another 10 min for our bill at this point i couldn't even look at her .. Steven did take off our shrimp app and another 7.50 totally 28.50 credits i paid cash and left nothing for a tip for her . Stopped in for lunch and we had an amazing time! The food was amazing and fresh with live music on the gigantic covered patio with lots of fans for hot days paired with a water view it's safe to say this is a hidden gem. You can pull your boat up or park your car and if you choose not to sit outside they have inside seating also. The chicken Parmesan sandwhich was incredible with a great sauce and cheese ratio on a fresh garlic brioche style bun! Beers and drinks are also very reasonably price with drafts starting at 4$. If you are in the area looking for a great unique dining experience on the water with live music and great pricing you must stop by this hidden gem. read more

Went here for Sunday brunch. Brunch was 10-2 and we arrived with plenty of time left for brunch. The wait was supposed to be 20 minutes but ended up being 55 minutes. I don't mind usually if the food etc is good. The food was fair. It was dry, overcooked and looked like it had been there for longer than the two hours into brunch that it had been there. There was little to no refreshing of food being performed and items that were depleted stayed depleted. Most annoying was the carving station and omelette station. They were both unstaffed most of the 45 or so minutes we were there and the people in our party that wanted them went without. Unacceptable for $35 per person. I've seen Golden Corral buffets better than this. Do better please. read more

If you are in the Vero Beach area I recommend checking out this place. With beautiful views of the Indian River it's such a great place to sit with friends. We sat outside. While it was a little warm it was well worth it. The views were beautiful. We had one of the best waitresses I have ever encountered. I wish I could remember her name for a shout out because she was amazing in every way. The food was great. Hush puppies were awesome. If you like hush puppies you will like these. Between our group we had grilled flounder, chicken parmesan sandwich, and the kickin chicken sandwich. It wasn't kickin in the manner of heat - just that it's very good! They had the best children's menu I have ever seen. For example, they had the I DONT KNOW Chicken tenders and fries I DONT CARE Kids burger and fries I DON'T WANT THAT Grilled cheese and fries I'M SO HUNGRY Kraft Mac and cheese and I'M NOT HUNGRY Pasta with marinara or butter and parmesan cheese.
