While staying at Costa d'Este boutique hotel, we had breakfast and dinner at The Wave Kitchen & Bar. It's an absolute must during your stay! Their seafood paella is hands down the best I've ever had... overflowing with fresh, flavorful seafood and perfectly seasoned rice. The portion for two could easily feed four, but trust me, you won't want to share! I had breakfast there all three mornings of our stay and every meal was delicious. From the make-your-own omelette and fluffy pancakes to the avocado toast topped with perfectly poached eggs. The fruit was always fresh, and the staff went above and beyond to accommodate my husband's request for strawberries and watermelon. For those who are gluten-free, The Wave Kitchen & Bar is fantastic. They offer gluten-free toast, breakfast potatoes, black bean hummus, guac and salsa, and for dessert, a divine flourless chocolate cake served with your choice of vanilla or espresso ice cream. It's absolutely superb! If in the area, it's a must try. You will not be disappointed!

I don't know how The Wave isn't rated higher! This place was wonderful! The outside tables are first come first serve and have a beautiful pool and ocean view. You can even get served at the pool chairs! There is a great menu with large portion sizes at a modest price for the view and location. Service was very friendly and attentive. We got the turkey wrap, chicken quesadilla, and a chicken bowl. All were excellent. I especially loved the amount of fresh, delicious guacamole served with the quesadilla. I look forward to dining here again!

After many trips to Vero Beach, we decided to try The Wave. First, the hotel is beautiful. There are lights on the trees when you walk in. They have a small parking lot and also valet parking which is complimentary for diners. Our waitress was great and very attentive. I felt like I had to try a mojito, it was really good and not too sweet. The best appetizer we had was the grilled octopus. It came with potatoes, peppers, olives, and chorizo. For dinner we got the paella for two and the scallop on it was amazing, the mussels and clams were just alright. I thought the rice was cooked perfectly. There was more than enough for two people. We will definitely be back there!

The food, service and ambiance are all fantastic! The drinks were good but average. Can't beat the views. Would return and recommend to others. Our dinners were fantastic. I had the fresh catch and my husband had the skirt steak. I posted pictures!

Decided to hop in here during a very hot day for drinks. After some confusion as to which menu we should be given, we ordered from the brunch menu. Brunch apparently runs until 3pm. We ordered a cucumber mule mocktail, The Pink Lily cocktail and some ceviche. They were all on point. The Ceviche is served with Plantains and yarrow root chips. Not bad. I think I would have preferred a different kind of chip but I would order it again. It was fresh and flavorful. Service was good. The hotel is nice and busy. The AC was great!!

The bean soup seems to be a very popular item. It was, in fact, delicious, but I wanted to tey the Paella. Lucky for me, it was, in fact, gluten-free. The Paella is huge, and it can fees up to 4 people. it was quite a lot of food for just two people, but we still ordered it. It was delicious and full of seafood and variety. I would highly recommend this particular dish. Dining at the restaurant is nice, this seems to be the nicest restaurant in this area of Vero Beach and it is located in the hotel Costa d'Este. I would highly recommend this restaurant for a chic date night. I was very happy with my experience.

First time at this restaurant when we were visiting the area. We weren't familiar with the history of the hotel and came her off of a friend recommendation. We tried to sit inside but they sat us at an extremely small table behind a pillar with little view. We then moved to an outdoor spot near the pool which served the same menu. We loved the view and the service. We ordered a bottle of Pinot Gris which was great- even out of plastic glasses. Beet & Burrata salad- mediocre. I was hoping for a variety of beets, but they were just the red ones and were a bit flavorless. The lettuce was extremely salty. The burrata was good. We then ordered the Snapper as the fresh fish of the day - blackened. It was served with green beans and a creme sauce. I thought it was good, a bit overdone and too much seasoning, not fishy. Key lime tart to go- good flavor, tiny. We will probably stay here next time so will try again.

    Cuban Roasted Pork (Lechon Asado)

The place is very nice, I like the view of the ocean not so much the view of the pool. It was a fairly slow night from what it seemed, device was fast. The food presentation is beautiful and looks delicious but unfortunately the taste was awful. The started with the Calamari (not pictured) with "cherry peppers" more like Jalapeño peppers and so much of them more peppers than calamari not to mention the breading wasn't holding it kept crumpling off so the plate was left with all the crunchy breading. I had the Roasted Pork (Lechon Asado) which was delicious. If you're trying to compare the beef taste to something else familiar I would say it's like Carnitas. The Paella A La Costa would have been perfect with all the different seafood and chicken plus chorizo the mix of flavors is great however it was way too salty it was inedible. The chef must of forgot they added salt and added another dose. And finally the classic Cuban dish Ropa Vieja (Shredded Beef). Such a disgrace to the traditional Cuban dish, it tasted like pure tomato paste...terrible. Would not recommend this place next time, and if we did maybe we'd try their brunch.

The Wave Kitchen is Gloria Estefan's restaurant, inside the Costa d Este Beach & Spa Resort. Little pricey but beautiful restaurant, great service and solid food. We loved the grilled octopus and sea scallops, both cooked to perfection!

I ordered Mahi with potatoes and creamy spinach. Everything was delicious except my partner's rice tasted terrible. It appeared that it was cooked with water that had a funky taste to it. They should taste the food that's coming out to the customers. The menu is very pricy. Expect to pay $250 for two people. They also have a cute gift shop... very pricy as well. A T-shirt costs $28. A chime that we saw there was $65 - we found the same chime on Amazon for $25. I did end up buying a small gift for my daughter.

It's such a beautiful spot, especially during the holidays when they really go all out with the decorations. The ambiance is hard to beat, and the view alone makes it worth the visit. The food is consistently delicious and well-prepared, although it is definitely on the pricier side. It feels more like a place for a special night out than an everyday dinner. On our most recent visit, the only downside (besides the prices) was that there was a very long wait time to get our food. Still, the setting and overall experience was positive so I wouldn't be against another visit.

*INITIAL REVIEW*…read more Today, my family and I celebrated Mother's Day given the fact one of my sisters and I would be too busy to celebrate it on the actual day. Ergo, we made a trip down to Vero Beach and had fun at both McKee Botanical Gardens and the Vero Beach Museum of Art (VBMA), both which got stellar reviews by me in the past. In between both locales, we were hungry and needed to eat someplace local. I had some suggestions, but my mom was in the mood for seafood. As a suggestion from reviews, The Crab Stop of Vero Beach was ultimately decided upon. I have to say, I am happy this restaurant was suggested because it is very good. Even though an address is provided, The Crab Spot of Vero Beach (which I will shorthand simply to Crab Spot for the remainder of this review) is located on the southside of the entryway into Royal Palm Place, one of the many extensions leading out into the water near US-1, but this one is known for the Royal Palm Park at the end. Initial display, decor, and ambiance has the stereotypical local dive bar look with elements showcasing they specialize in seafood, and the little bits of rustic flaws adds a bit of character for what they are. I would not expect such a look for a high-end restaurant, but this works for a local place on the river. The chairs squeeked, the table wobbled a bit in which the waitress fixed with some coasters, and the plates were chipped. No problem at all. There was even outdoor seating in the back bar-style which gives you a nice view of the canal that leads to the river. It was high sun, so we opted for the air conditioning. Now we move on to the food. I have to say that the majority of our food was really good, and when you adjusted to what you are eating, it was top-notch. Key word, however, is the "majority." The good: the hush puppies basket as you get 10 hush puppies that are lightly-seasoned with 1000 island sauce. If you eat one, it is probable you might think it is light on seasoning. However, they are small and finishing all 10 won't be a problem. The flavor builds with each hush puppy, which was smartly done compared to what most seafood places do: give you like two to five hush puppies of large size and high flavoring. The wings, however, used a hot sauce that was mostly vinegar. This ruined the wings for me, and if my stepdad ordered 20, he'd be eating the majority of them. Everything else was top-notch and delicious. Altogether, my family ordered the Fish and Chips, Mahi Sandwich, Fried Catfish Sandwich, Sea Scallop Snack Pack, and the Crab Cake Dinner. Details for each dish in the pictures. On a sidenote, the restroom was okay as in clean and stocked, but not the best-looking restroom I seen. Maybe the "character" could have not be extended to the restroom. Ultimately, I am giving Crab Stop four out of five stars. I do enjoy a good "mom n' pop" place as I prefer to support local and small, but since this is the only time I went, I can't justify a five-star rating until they prove to be consistent. I will be back as there is another park just south of this business that has geocaches that need to be found AND I may also try to hide a traditional letterbox here. But take note for a local seafood stop, this place is good to go.

It was difficult to get drinks refilled, and it felt like our table was forgotten for most of the meal. The food was just as disappointing. Several meals arrived lukewarm, the quality was poor, and nothing really stood out as worth the price. It's frustrating because this restaurant used to be one of our favorite places to eat in Vero Beach, but each visit seems to get worse instead of better. One thing that stood out was that we were never told about any specials, yet we overheard our server explaining them to another table nearby. That made us feel overlooked. The décor also felt very outdated, with a 1970s atmosphere that just wasn't appealing to me. I understand some people enjoy a nostalgic vibe, but it wasn't what I was looking for. I'm glad we gave it a try because the prime rib was very good, but overall the experience wasn't enough to bring us back.
