I would say just meh about everything. Location service and food. Ordered scrambled eggs bacon and pancakes and an omelette with corned beef. Just okay. Food was just okay ambience is okay and service was okay. I had to ask for refills for my coffee and I asked for mustard and never got it. The eggs also did not come scrambled as ordered. read more

We stopped in at Hen House Eatery for a mid-morning breakfast while camping nearby at Long Point Park. This is a cozy spot with friendly staff and plenty of quirky "farm fresh" themed artwork adorning the walls, giving it a welcoming and fun vibe. The menu is impressively extensive, and I even spotted a Bacon Bloody Mary that I made a mental note to come back and try. My wife chose the Tater Tot Breakfast Bowl, which was hearty and satisfying. It included crispy, delicious Tater Tots (of course), topped with bits of country ham, scrambled eggs, and a generous layer of melted cheese. I went with the Southern Benny, a creative twist on classic eggs Benedict. This version features two sausage patties atop biscuit halves, each topped with a perfectly poached egg and smothered in sausage gravy. I also opted for grits as my side, as I consider myself something of a grits connoisseur and often use them as a benchmark for overall breakfast quality. I'm happy to say the grits were cooked to the perfect consistency, though very plain. Use them as a blank canvas to add your own butter and seasonings to suit your taste. Another breakfast standard I use to gauge quality is the coffee. If it tastes rich and full-bodied straight up black, it's a winner. This coffee, unfortunately, while not bitter or unpleasant, lacked any specific character or robustness. So, it was Hello, Cream & Sugar--suit up, we need you in this coffee game! The portions here are generous, so come hungry, plan to share, or be ready to take some leftovers home. As for the food? It was hot and tasty but leaned a bit on the bland side. A touch more seasoning would have elevated the flavors. That said, it's still a nice spot for a hearty breakfast, and I look forward to trying more items from the menu on our next visit. I'm very picky about my breakfast, and I had the best waffle I've ever had in my entire life. I do not say that lightly. Crispy yet fluffy, and the batter was SO good. Sausage patties are also very well seasoned, and the bacon is perfectly crispy. My partner ordered the strawberry crepes and said they were so so so good. Chose this place in a rush as it was on the way to where we were going and I'm so glad we stopped here. Definitely coming back when we're back in the area!!! read more

This was a one and done for us. It's a cute looking place, small but quaint. My boyfriend and I sat ourselves and were immediately put off by the aroma of our table as it had recently been cleaned with a not-so-fresh rag/dirty water. It was very unpleasant and present the entire meal. We started with coffee and as I poured a single-serve creamer into my cup it curdled; I've never seen this before and I'm sure this was just a fluke but it seemed like an omen of things to come. I asked for a fresh cup of coffee and more creamer as we were then out, and we placed our food orders along with a glass of OJ. My boyfriend chose sliced tomatoes as the "breakfast side" accompanying his combo and was told they "no longer do that." You can get sliced tomatoes on any burger/sandwich/salad or their plethora of listed BLTs but not on the side? Strange for a diner/cafe, especially during tomato season in FL. Maybe take it off the menu as a listed breakfast side option. After waiting for about 10+ minutes for creamer (two waitresses, three small tables each), I finally went to grab a few from the empty table adjacent from me and was politely scolded by another waitress to "just ask if I needed cream." Well I did, but no one came and I'm not going to sit not being remembered while my now second cup turns cold (no one brought my orange juice either). The couple next to us, who had arrived and ordered after us, got their food first as did a gentleman on the patio, which felt odd/intentional. The couple also were offered sliced tomatoes as a breakfast side option by their waitress, so what's the deal with that? We felt judged. I'd like to mention that the man next to us brought in a dog in a vest reading "emotional support animal" that he initially had in his lap (these are NOT service animals) and later put on the floor. The staff said nothing despite there being a sign on their door stating they were no longer allowing animals inside; they have a full patio of outside seating. It would have been nice of the staff to follow their own rules and offer them a table outside. Unfortunately, I'm allergic to dogs. When we got our food (I had to ask again for the orange juice) I was very disappointed. I had ordered the California Benedict and the "avocado" was pre-packaged guacamole-like paste from a container. The mixture was also warm, as were the soggy tomatoes underneath, almost like they were cooked. It is not difficult to make a simple Benedict and just before serving add some fresh sliced tomato and avocado. Would you serve a burger with hot lettuce and cooked tomato? Same concept. In a word, this meal was unappetizing. I scraped off the topping and ate what I could around it. The eggs were nicely poached, the potatoes seasoned, the English muffin toasted. The OJ was delicious, the best part of the meal. The uneaten removed pile of my entree went seemingly unnoticed by our waitress who was by no means rude but just seemed a bit short with us. My boyfriend's combo, while tasting fine, was smaller than we're used to at most breakfast spots (especially for the menu calling it the "Belly Buster") and he found it difficult to eat his pancakes as they were on the same small plate as his yolky eggs. Overall the food and service both left a bad taste in our mouths and it was not a great experience. We will not return, nor recommend. read more

We drove 30 minutes to try this cute little place. The food was great and honestly better than I expected. Sandy who waited on us gave us great service and everyone that was working was very friendly and accommodating to us and our 3 small children. I brought my stroller inside and even though it was smaller space, there was plenty of room for us to fit. My husband and I ordered a turkey blt and a chicken caesar wrap...wow 10/10. Absolutely delicious. The wrap was warm the chicken was the right temperature and the romain was crispy. My sandwich had the perfect ratio of turkey, tomato, and bacon was cooked perfectly. The home fries were seasoned nicely and the quality and texture was very pleasing. We loved this place! We will definitely be back to try something new. We had breakfast here with our extended family of 7 while on vacation, on a weekday. Seating is very limited; there are a few seats outside. They have local Natalie's brand juices, and have your standard fare for breakfast like pancakes, French toast, biscuits and gravy. The scrambled eggs and bacon were excellent. The French toast was just okay - very bready, wheat tasting and not very soft or eggy or sweet. Pancakes were very good according to my kids. I thought the coffee was bad. Drinkable but the taste was like stale Folgers instant coffee. Our server was polite and helpful, and the inside is very clean and the noise level is low. It feels like a local's regular place for breakfast; with reliable and consistent service and food. read more

The restaurant isn't very big but has enough seating and cute decor, restrooms were very clean. The menu is huge, plenty of breakfast and lunch options! The food is good, service is great but this is not a bang for your buck kind of place. Would totally eat here again but the portions are on the smaller side in my opinion. The kids meals are very small, one small chocolate chip pancake. The donut holes are a must though! Absolutely delicious, come out hot and fresh! Went here for breakfast yesterday and found the service to be excellent. They are really friendly here, and one woman loves to make jokes; what a great attitude. The menu is quite extensive with lots of options for breakfast and lunch. We ordered the 2-2-2 breakfast plate which consisted of 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, and 2 slices of bacon. The latter was too over cooked, very brittle. But the eggs and pancakes were cooked well. We also ordered the steak omelette with mushrooms and cheddar cheese along with hash browns, it was just perfect. There's was tons of steak in it and very tasty. The coffee is really good, with a bottomless cup. They are always asking if you would like a refill. read more

We stopped here on a whim while we were out in the area. The food was decent. The restaurant is quaint and pretty clean. Took a while to get drink refills even after asking, but overall a good local spot. I had a pastrami Ruben that was yummy. Wanted to get away from the overpriced and mediocre Disney resort food and this places potatoes and reviews looked good. The service was prompt and very friendly and the prices were very reasonable. The coffee which is a must was weak and had that Florida swamp water taste which is unfortunate the omelet was good but slightly skimping on the filings. This restaurant serves the best Eggs Benedict I've ever had. Their crepes and omelets are delicious, too. Haven't been there for the lunch menu, but I anticipate the food is just as good. They are also very dog friendly in their outside eating area. Our Trinity enjoys coming here! read more

Hate to leave a bad review because I've been in the restaurant business since Nixon was president but everything we had basically sucked. I'll do a scale of 1 to 10. Waffles 1 sausage gravy 1 eggs Benedict the sauce was pathetic. Ordered 2 eggs and 2 strips bacon and 1 strip came out . If you can't count to 2 wtf. They hash browns were amazing in how bad they were . You grate onions you grate potatoes and you throw them on the flat top. It's like they took potatoes and threw them in the fryer. Like I said I never leave bad reviews but if you cant . cook 2 eggs properly you probably should find a different way to make a living. read more
