Decided to try this place out because I saw alot of people there, so I figured it had to be good. I got me the grilled chicken sandwich with green peppers and it tasted very good. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because for $10, they could have included a bag a chips or even a drink. I haven't been here in like 8 months. I enjoyed it before & enjoyed it again. I ordered a blue cheese bacon burger. It was really good. It was big, juicy. Sautéd onions, hickory smoked bacon, mayo, blue cheese & tomato. The roll was really nice, so fresh. Very tasty ! Fries were plentiful . A little cold, but the place was super busy. So I'm thinking they had to make big batches.? You order at a window & wait to be called . Outside seating only. I'm thankful we grabbed a table before we had our food. Casey's Place is a an iconic Vero Beach burger restaurant a few blocks from the beach. Casey Steil opened this unassuming burger joint in 1981 on Cardinal Dr. Today the business has been passed down to Steil's son, also named Casey. While there is no dedicated parking lot you can easily find street parking. Casey's has a walk up counter where you place you order with one of the friendly employees. You can take your food to go or enjoy it in the outdoor courtyard where trees and umbrellas provide shade. This cute open air space exudes a relaxing, casual, beachy vibe and it was the perfect spot to enjoy a meal while a refreshing cold front was rolling in. Dogs are very welcome here. For my meal I ordered the Deluxe Cheeseburger special ($13.95) which included a 6 ounce patty, lettuce tomato, mayo, onion, Swiss and American cheese, and Casey's special sauce on a toasted kaiser bun. That is how I like my burger but feel free to customize to your taste. My meal came with the ideal burger side, fries. The burger was cooked perfectly and the fries were hot and crispy. I don't indulge in this kind of meal often anymore but this was worth every calorie. In addition to their burgers they also serve hot dogs, hot and cold deli sandwiches, chicken, salads, and breakfast sandwiches. They also offer soft drinks and beer. When you are craving a Cheeseburger in Paradise, Casey's is the real deal. I discovered Casey's Place by accident while on the last day of vacation one year ago. I had one of the best grilled chicken sandwiches. This year while in Vero Beach I made sure to go back to Casey's Place. Had the Grilled Chicken and Peppers sandwich and a side of French Fries -- same order as last year. It did not disappoint -- it was delicious! 10/25/2018 - Another trip to Vero Beach and another stop at Casey's Place. Had the Chicken and Peppers sandwich again and it was very good. 11/11/2019 - Lucky enough to make another trip to Vero Beach. Fish sandwich seemed like a frozen wedge of cod. Crispy Chicken sandwich wasn't that good. Rolls on both were nothing special. It was nice that they cut them in half so we could share them. Excellent little places for dogs and burgers and the like. My lady has the BLT and I had the deluxe burger (I think it was called). Very good for a quick dinner type of thing, and super impressed by the price! I think we got out of there for $23 and that was with a beer even. Have been coming here over the last several years since moving to Vero, but haven't been here for several months. What happened to the fresh burger patties and fresh French fries? Seems like the times have changed and another historic food venue has caved to staffing pressures, labor challenges and cost of food, but seriously, please go back to the old ways and charge more money for your food!! Service was poor and not a smiling face until the manager came to the window to remedy my botched order. Also, do we have to smell cigarettes while we are eating?? Has both the best and least expensive food on the island! Never had anything bad here. My most recent dining companions really liked their hot roast beef sandwich and reuben, but for me it's all about the Chil Slaw Dog. If you've never had it, get it. Casey's is always our 1 st stop when we travel to Vero Brach to visit my mother in law. It's been around for years and no matter what day of the week you go, there's always a line! The sandwich's are so good ! My favorite is the grilled cheese with bacon and tomato. It's grilled perfectly and so cheesy ! Add bacon to it. They cook it nice and crispy and it gives the sandwich a perfect crunch amongst all that gooeyness! Sometimes I like to add a tomato , too. It just breaks it up nicely, adding another layer of texture. I really like that the sandwich isn't too big. It allows me to indulge in this comfort food without feeling too guilty . Their French fries are good, too. I've also enjoyed their tuna melt and the rest of my family loves their B.L.T's ! I have my eye on their Reuben sammie next... No matter what sandwich you get , you can't go wrong at Casey's! It is outdoors near the beach. It's very casual. They have picnic tables and smaller tables and chairs, too. There is no table service, fyi. You stand in line and order your food and they'll call your name to come pick it up. FYI, if your time is limited, you can call your order in ahead of time ! We found this spot on a walk earlier this week. It not only looked like a popular spot, but it also smelled amazing. We did some online research and the reviews were great so we decided to visit for dinner last night. I ordered a salad with the grilled chicken and opted for Cajun at the recommendation of the cashier. My friend ordered a hot dog and Coke and our other friend ordered a grilled chicken salad, French fries, and a beer. The atmosphere was extremely chill and the patio and surrounding areas were very clean. The patio features multiple tables as well as a decent amount of Adirondack chairs. The procedure for ordering meals is to visit the walk-up window, place an order, and then grab a table while waiting for the food. Once the meals are prepared, the customers names are called and the customers claim their meals. There is a self-serve bar with beverages and condiments. They also have trash receptacles throughout the patio. Additionally, the staff collects the empty baskets and trash from customers. The staff were friendly and the cashier was knowledgeable regarding the menu. The salad dressing offered for salads are individual packets of Ken's dressings and these are requested at the time of placing an order. The dressing accompanies the salad when served. Our salads were filled with fresh vegetables to include baby carrots, cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, green and red peppers and a variety of lettuce. A generous portion of grilled chicken as well as cheddar and Swiss cheese triangular slices graced the top. Finally, there were a few croutons included as well. The French fries were served in a small paper bag and were both fresh and hot. The hot dog was a very decent size and all items ordered were thoroughly enjoyed by our party. We really enjoyed our meals as well as the atmosphere. This restaurant can be depended on for affordable and fresh meal options. I'd give 4.5 stars if Yelp allowed. Pros: Delicious, well-portioned and appropriately-priced food. Two hearty burgers, two large fries, two soft drinks with unlimited refills plus tax and tip put me at about $40, which I think is a great deal with current prices being what they are (a comparable meal at any chain would cost the same but be half the quality). The meat was seasoned perfectly, the toppings were fresh and plentiful, and the fries were hot and crunchy. Service was fast, efficient, and friendly, with the staff recognizing and greeting their many regulars. I also appreciated the self-service areas where patrons can not only get fountain drinks, napkins, and ketchup as is customary for a burger stand, but also freshly sliced lemons, diced onions, fresh relish, sliced jalapeños, and an array of different hot sauces. The patio area was clean and very well maintained for an outdoor joint in operation since the 80's. Cons: Parking and seating are limited. It's understandably a very popular place. If you're wanting to sit and take your time, you're going to have to be patient and maybe even be willing to share space with a stranger. There are also only three fans, plus a handful of umbrellas. Unless you're fresh out of the ocean or pool, I can imagine it being uncomfortable to dine here when the temperature is high. I was also bummed to see no milkshakes, floats, or anything thing of the sort on the menu; there's just something about an old-school burger place that makes me crave a milkshake, and it would have ended the meal perfectly (also, when I asked for cheese fries with the cheese on the side they told me they just put a slice of American cheese on top of the fries vs. it being an actual sauce, so I got regular fries instead... a few menu tweaks would probably benefit them, but that's just my opinion). All-in-all, this is a great local spot to grab a tasty and filling meal in a casual setting. I will absolutely be returning when the next burger craving hits. read more
