The only issue we had were they didn't sell half sandwiches and the full sandwich is more than enough for two people next time. Turned around in this parking lot and I'm so glad I saw this place.. ordered an absolutely perfect Italian sub and it was exactly what I wanted. It was not overloaded with 3 pounds of deli meat that go completely unused. It was actually made correctly and thoughtfully the way I would make a sandwich for myself. I really wanted a Reuben to go for the next day because I was traveling and I asked them if they could package it up deconstructed so I could build it when I got to my destination, and it did not disappoint. In other parts of the country known for their delicatessens I would be a one and done for every "deli" I've tried in Indian River County. I will say that this place was clean, had great people working there and was a step up from "Subway."Although I'm not a fan of the commercial, mass produced, sub rolls they use. Twisted Pickle is one of my favorite sandwich, sub and salad places in the whole area. They reopen today in the new location which is indicated on this site. 10/12/2020. I have had most of their subs some of their sandwiches and some salads that were all great. I had photos on the last site that disappeared after the fire took place. I will bring more photos back. Friendly folks that work here and great food. The only reason I don't give five stars is because I wish they had indoor and or outdoor seating to eat there. I'll be back soon read more

Inconsistent Saturday hours, open later than advertised and on top of that, Kim, the owner was extremely rude. In the turbulent climate of retail and particularly restaurants, if there isn't consistency or at least solid customer service than what's the point. Nice sandwich shop in the Vero Beach area. Fresh ingredients and creative sandwich options. They do have a nice veggie sandwich for all the vegetarians out there (I liked it). My husband is obsessed with the rueben (loves adding sauerkraut and brown mustard). They aren't quick so budget a little waiting time but I think it's because they put a lot of care into their creations. Oh - if you're a pickle lover, they do make their own pickles (my husband recommends them). Easy parking as well right out front (never been full). Enjoy! read more

I had a very disappointing experience at the Twisted Pickle with the lunch order I recently placed. I ordered the vegetable sandwich which showed as $8.95 on the website but I was charged $13.95 when I picked up the order. Apparently the owner hadn't updated the website yet. A $5 increase is bad enough but not having the correct prices on the website and paying $14 for a vegetable sandwich is ridiculous. If I had known the price, I would not have ordered it. The shrimp salad I ordered also had a price increase but at least the salad was plentiful and delicious however, $32 for 2 lunch items is excessive. read more

Twisted Pickle is the absolute best! I am so obsessed with this place that I make my boyfriend bring me sandwiches whenever he comes to visit me in Chicago. My absolute favorite is the Mamma Mia. It's a loaded sandwich with meats, cheeses, and a plethora of condiments. The owners and staff are so friendly and accommodating - They make me a "deconstructed sandwich" with all the ingredients in a to go box and the sauces all packaged in TSA friendly containers so that the sandwich doesn't get soggy on its flight over to me. If I could leave ZERO stars I would!!!! Placed an pickup order for a Roast Beef Sandwich on the phone at 12:50 pm. I was told the order would be ready in ten minutes. Arrived at the Twisted Pickle at 1 PM. Order wasn't ready as they had to slice the Roast Beef. No big deal. However at 1:15 pm a gentleman walked into the Twisted Pickle, placed an order for a Roast Beef Sandwich and walked out with it at 1:20 PM. No phone order, just a walk up customer. I heard him order. ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE FKNG CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!! You don't make someone else's order before another who has been waiting patiently for 30 minutes! 12:50 to 1:20 pm. I WALKED OUT IMMEDIATELY! Two plus years ago when we moved to Vero I was so happy when I found the twisted pickle. There are not many "real" deli's in the area. We went to the deli at least 2-3 times a month. The pickles are homemade and delish. Also their homemade pasta salad is good. Now for the sandwiches. When we first started coming here the sandwiches were a nice size, just enough meat or whatever you are having on the roll. The meats, RB, Turkey, salami etc were of good quality. Except for the RB. It was over cooked dry and not rare, which is a must for RB. Beware, they put mayo on an Italian sub?!?! Say it ain't so! As time went on the sandwiches got smaller and cost more. The clerks weren't as friendly as they were 2 years ago. I thought my total sounded high for two sandwiches. Upon checking out I asked for my receipt. To my surprise I was charged an administrative fee. Whatever that is. Sounds like that should be against law. We expect tax, but not the establishments "special fee". I am really disappointed. I don't like to be ripped off. $3.00 plus fee, that's ridiculous. I'm used to paying tax upon tax as I used to live in a state that was the tax me state. Their hours are strange. They close at 3:00 PM. I usually eat lunch at 3:00ish. Dinner at 7-8. Not convenient at all. I will move on. Even better, I'll make my own sandwiches. read more

Drove by this place so many times and never stopped . What a dummy I was . Finally went in on the advice of someone that lived close by and was kicking myself for not going sooner. The food is incredible to say the least . From what I was told the owner was a Chef and it shows in the cooking . The name comes from the homemade pickles that they make or the other way around. I am not sure which . First time I went in I asked what their most popular sub was . She told me the Italian sub. Since that is one of my husband's favorite I got that for him. He said it was the best he had ever had and believe me he had them all over the country . I believe I ordered a roast beef turkey and ham which is my favorite with thousand island dressing . Oh my goodness this stuff is good. I was hoping for a place to eat, not just take-out, but the food is really good. They have a comprehensive menu of subs and salads. Great quality ingredients and tons of stuff made in-house. I got the special which was a turkey sub with mayo, lettuce , tomato , cranberry spread, Swiss cheese, and candied walnuts. I also got a cup of "Chica's Cheesy Chili." Being from Texas, I don't agree with beans in chili, but the flavor more than makes up for it. I look forward to eating my way through their menu. Each time I've gone here I've been further disappointed. This time, I brought my "authentic" Italian Sub home for lunch, only to find it slathered with gobs of...get this...MAYONNAISE!!! What are you kidding??!! Disgusting! Mayo on any Italian sandwich is strictly proibito! Real Italians don't even use mayo. They use only olive oil and red wine vinegar. We are huge on supporting local businesses. We've passed this several times and decided to stop in today. Lots of sandwich choices and cute decor. I like how they offer Coke Sodas, but also offer canned Pepsi products. As far as the sandwiches I was sorely disappointed. My husband's sub was OK. He wasn't impressed with the bland bread so he ate only the meat in the 2nd half of the sandwich. I ordered a Sloppy something and it was supposed to have Coleslaw on it. She said she would put the coleslaw on the side so it wouldn't make the sandwich soggy. Great idea until we got home and didn't have coleslaw. I ate the sandwich but it was bland. The bread was wheat, but no flavor. There was supposed to be Thousand Island but there wasn't much. The meat and cheese didn't seem seasoned with S/P, so I added some and it was better. The best part of the sandwich is the bread and butter pickles. They were really good! I am not sure I'll go back, but maybe if I'm driving up that way, I would. Plenty of parking, however, if you are coming south on US 1 you have to make a U turn to get to the place then go north and make a U Turn to head back south again. Not a convenient location. The place was pretty busy when we went and they took around 10 minutes to get our subs out after we ordered. Not bad for fresh made subs. They do offer relish and onions to put on the subs if you want. There aren't any seats / tables to sit and eat, but there are several chairs to wait for your food. Again, I won't ever go out of my way to get a sub from here since they aren't a WOW for me, but I may try a toasted sub next time with extra seasoning and see how it is. read more
