After moving to Florida's Treasure Coast from northeast Florida (Fernandina/Yulee), we've been missing our favorite Cuban spot from back home, Hola! Cuban Cafe on Amelia Island. It set a pretty high bar for us, so we weren't sure we'd find anything comparable in our new area. Then we came across Nini's Cuban Cuisine in their new Sebastian location, just a short and easy ride from our home in Vero Beach, and what a great surprise it turned out to be. We stopped in for an early lunch and started with a cafe con leche that was exactly what we'd been craving. Smooth, rich, and comforting. We added an order of maraquitas, and the onion and garlic dipping sauce instantly won us over. It's the kind of simple, perfect flavor that makes you pause for a second and savor the moment. For our entree, we shared the Pan con Bistec with black beans. Splitting it was the right call because the portions are generous. Everything tasted fresh and homemade, the kind of food that feels like it came out of someone's kitchen rather than a restaurant line. If you leave hungry, that's on you. The cafe itself is small, charming, and welcoming. The staff matches the atmosphere with warm, friendly service that makes you feel like you've been coming there for years. There's a lot more on the menu that we're looking forward to trying, and it's nice to finally have a Cuban spot nearby that scratches the itch we've had since moving south. ¡Nos gusta mucho! Very quaint interior with super friendly staff and good portion sizes. Especially the lunch salads. Central location so hope they make it. Went back for dinner and it got even better. Their braised chicken was flawless in cooking. Moist flavorful and tender. Didn't have room but many of the appetizers could be entrees the tostones looked amazing in the table next to us and the sangria was fruity but not sweet. Really well done. read more

A Cuban friend took us here the first time. It has a charming atmosphere, friendly attentive staff, refreshing mojitos, and great cuban food of generous proportions. Six of us all enjoyed our meals of steak, roast chicken, cuban sandwich, whole fried fish and desserts. I cannot wait to take more friends there and return for a great meal. read more

The servers absolutely brighten the small, cutely decked out eatery. We found this place on google maps and saw they had good reviews and decided to give them a try. We had their paella, tamal, empanada, palomilla steak, ropa vieja sammich and a cortadito. We felt the paella tasted good but too wet to be called a paella (Unless this is how Cuban's intend it to be), the tamal and the empanada were what you'd expect them to be, fairly good. The bread in the ropa vieja sandwich gave it the edge to make it memorable. I had never had a "Cortado" (Sweet Cuban coffee); I had heard of it, but never had it nor did I know what it was until I read about it on Google (after I drank it...) I thought it was OK. My first thought was "Why did she just put sugar in my coffee w/o asking me if I wanted it?" lol! Not bad if you like sweet coffee! Why the low score; The plate that the empanada was delivered on was literally crawling with ants... not one, not two, not three lil' ants... it was swarming with ants! I don't understand how the waitress didn't notice that. She actually brought it to the table and left it there and walked away with a smile. I immediately lifted the empanada off the plate and ran the plate back to the waitress (she apologized and gave me a new plate. Wow ! This is your sign to order here !! My mom heard this place recently opened up and we did takeout. We usually have ordered from Las Palmas but they were so rude a few months back I refuse to go back. Not only that, their food is always overcooked and dry ... Moving on .... Let me tell you something, when I say this place has THE BEST Cuban food I've had in a very long time, I am not joking. Ordered : shrimp in garlic sauce with white rice and plantains. Pork Lechon - comes with onions, rice (black but I didn't realize because I would switch for white rice next time), Yuka and I got an extra side of plantains. EVERYTHING was delicious. The pork was tender and juicy. The shrimp garlic sauce was !! With that sauce over the rice too, wowowow!! Plantains were just as juicy and delicious too. Nothing was dried or overcooked. I would order here every time I'm going to visit my parents ! It's a MUST try ! The place looked cute and neatly decorated. Had maybe between 12-16 tables just as a guess and by me looking. Nini's opened up a second location in Sebastian recently and I'm sure glad they did. It's much closer to my house and I can't wait to return. Pros: Quaint, well-decorated space with lots of natural lighting. Very clean. Extremely friendly and attentive waitstaff. Enormous portions. Delicious food! We enjoyed their tamal and a cup of chicken soup to start, then dove into our entrees of the ropa vieja and yoyito chicken sandwiches (one with fries, one with house salad). Flavor was 10/10 and we had plenty of leftovers for a second meal. Cons: No refills on sodas (cans only). I ordered a mojito (their house specialty, claiming to be "the best in town") and it was nearly un-drinkable. Strong and beautiful to look at, but it had a muddled, acrid flavor and was not refreshing or sweet like I'm used to. It was very off-putting. I would not recommend the mojito. The soup, while tasty, was barely warm. The side salad was served in a tiny cup and was very hard to pour dressing on, toss and eat. The bathroom is right there in the dining area and everyone can see and hear one's comings and goings (a huge pet peeve of mine. I do NOT want to be reminded of bathroom activities while I eat). And the music was constantly going in and out, likely due to a bad Bluetooth connection...maybe invest in a radio? It was irritating and clashed with the otherwise pleasant atmosphere. The flavor, quality, and portions of the food at Nini's, along with their friendly service, will definitely have me coming back. The desserts and coffee looked wonderful; next visit I'll split a sandwich so I can save room for dessert. read more

Nini's is like being in little Havana on 8th Street in Miami circa 1960 My only concern is that enough people in Sebastian try this remarkable restaurant so it will grow and prosper. The food is 5* perfect and their menu is created on homemade recipes. I consider myself a Cuban cuisine snob. I grew up a block off Little Havana in Miami eating at all the great Cuban Mom and Pop's and Nini's is every bit as delicious and authentic. DO NOT OVERLOOK THIS HIDDEN GEM!! I could eat there daily. The BEST churrasco in this area, by far. We loved how well prepared, seasoned and tender our skirt steak was and the black beans were also perfectly seasoned. The white rice is cooked to perfection as was the Yucca with mojo. Delicious and Cyntia as our weight staff was very servicing, amicable, and 'spot on' with her service. This will NOT be the last time we eat here and we'll be visiting again when we're in Sebastian. I do hope that the denizens of Sebastian realize the gem they have in their community. A+ read more

What a gem! When you walk in you are greeted with a smile as you step into a Cuban restaurant with Cuban music playing. The decor is very nostalgic but tasteful. Our server was prompt and took our orders. There is a nice selection of appetizers and entrees with a selection of desserts to finish the meal. The food was outstanding. Make sure to sample the chimichurri with your entree. We were not rushed and our server was attentive to our needs. This is our second trip and will definitely make sure to return! read more

I highly recommend this restaurant for so many reasons. The food is some of the most delicious and expertly prepared Cuban food I have ever had. The portions are massive. I had a pork sandwich that was so juicy and flavorful packed with fresh ingredients. The restaurant is intimate and gives very comfortable vibe. Wasn't asked what we wanted till over 30 minutes after being seated, (there were only four seated tables at the time ), then a long wait for food and a long wait for checks. - Ambiance was the worst. There is no acoustic treatment in this small restaurant. There are hard surfaces everywhere and we found the noise practically unbearable given they were playing loud Cuban music as well. Myself and some friends went to Nini's for dinner tonight. It's in a cute shopping center that has a beachy Key West vibe. On arrival, we were immediately seated and given menus. The ambiance and decor were nice and the vibe relaxed. The service was consistently good from beginning to end. We pretty much wanted everything on the menu so the waitress gave us some guidance. We ended up ordering mariquitas, empanadas, and tostones rellenos with pork for appetizers. For the main course, we ordered the special fried rice, bistec empanizada, churrasco steak on a skewer, enchilado de camarones, and a mojito. We all used to live in Miami and felt this place was legit...everything was flavorful and delicious. We loved our meals and vowed to return soon. Just an FYI, they add a 20% service fee for parties 5 and up. We didn't mind as the service was impeccable. Give Nini's a try if you're ever in the neighborhood. Nini's just opened in Sebastian and is already a standout. We didn't have a reservation, but the staff was welcoming and sat us outside right away. Everything we ordered -- beef empanadas, arroz con pollo, and grilled bacon-wrapped chicken & pineapple skewer -- was outstanding. The arroz con pollo was especially flavorful, and the plantains were perfect. We had leftovers and enjoyed them just as much the next day! A woman at a nearby table complained the food wasn't "authentic" because the breading wasn't made with Goya crackers -- which, fun fact, are made in New York and generally unavailable in Cuba. The staff handled her rudeness with grace, and the food spoke for itself: bold flavors, quality ingredients, and lots of love. The food was great. Decent portions, just enough. Shrimp enchilada (not enchilada but ending in an O but auto keeps correcting me )and Beef Frita were the dishes we ordered. The shrimp had an excellent sauce and the beef was shredded and cooked with pepper and onions. We both had a large piece of flan with whipped creme. One of the best flans ever! Cafe Cubano was great but too sweet. The Waiter was attentive and polite with suggestions. The smaller sized restaurant was clean and well updated. There is outdoor seating as well. This is the best Cuban restaurant in town. You have to come try this place out. I'm writing this review while I sit here with my husband having dinner, sorry I can't add any pictures because the food was so delicious that I forgot to take a picture of it., the service is excellent and different. The three servers attend to all the tables and not focus on their table only, multiple servers taking care of you. My absolute favorite Cuban dish is Vaca Frita. Their's was likely the best I've ever had. As a matter of fact my meal was so good I ordered Ropa Vieja to take home for dinner the next day.
