The servers absolutely brighten the small, cutely decked out eatery. We found this place on google maps and saw they had good reviews and decided to give them a try. We had their paella, tamal, empanada, palomilla steak, ropa vieja sammich and a cortadito. We felt the paella tasted good but too wet to be called a paella (Unless this is how Cuban's intend it to be), the tamal and the empanada were what you'd expect them to be, fairly good. The bread in the ropa vieja sandwich gave it the edge to make it memorable. I had never had a "Cortado" (Sweet Cuban coffee); I had heard of it, but never had it nor did I know what it was until I read about it on Google (after I drank it...) I thought it was OK. My first thought was "Why did she just put sugar in my coffee w/o asking me if I wanted it?" lol! Not bad if you like sweet coffee! Why the low score; The plate that the empanada was delivered on was literally crawling with ants... not one, not two, not three lil' ants... it was swarming with ants! I don't understand how the waitress didn't notice that. She actually brought it to the table and left it there and walked away with a smile. I immediately lifted the empanada off the plate and ran the plate back to the waitress (she apologized and gave me a new plate. There was a sheet of wax paper shielding the food from the ants).

Went here late 8:15p) for dinner on a weeknight. Super friendly staff. Great service. Great Cuban "comfort" food. Modest prices and portions. Relaxed atmosphere and well-lit dining area. I was told they had opened about 4-5 months ago.

Chicken soup. Served lukewarm but very tasty and a good portion.

Nini's opened up a second location in Sebastian recently and I'm sure glad they did. It's much closer to my house and I can't wait to return. Pros: Quaint, well-decorated space with lots of natural lighting. Very clean. Extremely friendly and attentive waitstaff. Enormous portions. Delicious food! We enjoyed their tamal and a cup of chicken soup to start, then dove into our entrees of the ropa vieja and yoyito chicken sandwiches (one with fries, one with house salad). Flavor was 10/10 and we had plenty of leftovers for a second meal. Cons: No refills on sodas (cans only). I ordered a mojito (their house specialty, claiming to be "the best in town") and it was nearly un-drinkable. Strong and beautiful to look at, but it had a muddled, acrid flavor and was not refreshing or sweet like I'm used to. It was very off-putting. I would not recommend the mojito. The soup, while tasty, was barely warm. The side salad was served in a tiny cup and was very hard to pour dressing on, toss and eat. The bathroom is right there in the dining area and everyone can see and hear one's comings and goings (a huge pet peeve of mine. I do NOT want to be reminded of bathroom activities while I eat). And the music was constantly going in and out, likely due to a bad Bluetooth connection...maybe invest in a radio? It was irritating and clashed with the otherwise pleasant atmosphere. The flavor, quality, and portions of the food at Nini's, along with their friendly service, will definitely have me coming back. The desserts and coffee looked wonderful; next visit I'll split a sandwich so I can save room for dessert.

Love this little place!! So happy I found out about it and tried it out. The food is really good and the portions are big. Service was great. We had our normal main waitress but still were asked how we were doing by the others and if we needed anything. It's small but very cute how they decorated the inside. Will definitely be coming back. Already recommended to friends a family who have since gone and loved it as well.

Such a cute little place! Food, drink, and staff were all amazing. I wish I had found Nini's earlier in the week. Recommendations from our waitress were fantastic.

I highly recommend this restaurant for so many reasons. The food is some of the most delicious and expertly prepared Cuban food I have ever had. The portions are massive. I had a pork sandwich that was so juicy and flavorful packed with fresh ingredients. The restaurant is intimate and gives very comfortable vibe. The server was very friendly and took the time to explain and answer my questions. The place is immaculate and you can see that this place will do really well. I wish them luck and can't wait to go back and experience more different dishes.

Food was ok, not like in Miami. But it's the closest you can get in the INRC. Waitress was very friendly and efficient. Would go back.

I got toppings on toppings, they lady had to wrap some tukery meat around the top of the sub in an attempt to hold it together. They top so much good stuff on this sucker. Half way through my half sub I just opened her up and ate like the pig I am. This sub is a NO HOLDS back kind of sandwich. I am so full I might get sick and that usually only happens when I eat donuts because I have very little self control when it comes to food I enjoy. Didn't cheap out with the bacon! Most places give you like to bacon strips. I had bacon crunch in every bite. If you are ever traveling on US1 thought this area I highly suggest getting gas and a sub. If you get all the peppers you'll have some gas also.

I love Hooked Up Subs!!…read more I was lucky to find this place being it is in a Chevron Gas Station (Wabasso Chevron on US1) First time I had a BLT and Egg sandwich and it was loaded and delicious. I've since had an awesome pastrami and roast beef 1/2 sub which was loaded and great! I then had an Italian 1/2 sub, it too was fantastic! The half subs are $5.49 They are well worth it. There are a lot of toppings to choose from. Monica has had the Chicken Salad sandwich and the Philly Cheesesteak 1/2 sub and said hers were great. I found out last visit there is a counter about 10 feet from the sub counter where you can fill out a form with what you want and how you want it. (I'll use that in the future). The lady that makes the subs is fast and makes works of art with food. I am looking forward to try the Cuban sub (I heard it is awesome) and the Reuben sub. I saw the lady making a BLT sub for someone while waiting to get a sub and it was loaded with lots of crispy beautiful bacon and fixins. You can order extra meat - but I haven't had to do so here yet. I've added photos and will be adding more soon. I wish every place that made sandwiches - made them as great looking and tasting and as loaded as these.

We live just down the road in Vero Beach, so discovering a neighborhood tavern with this much charm practically in our backyard was a real win. We had already eaten lunch at Nini's Cuban across the parking lot, so we stopped in just for a beer. Within minutes we were pulled straight into the atmosphere. Nancy, the bartender and proprietor, is the kind of host every small tavern dreams of. Warm, funny, and completely at ease, she makes newcomers feel like long‑time regulars while keeping the whole place running smoothly. The beer selection is far better than you would expect from a cozy local spot. There is a rotating craft lineup that rivals bigger bars, along with the classics and a surprisingly solid wine list. We spent half our visit sipping and the other half laughing at the hilarious signs covering the walls and at the antics of a couple of regulars who clearly keep the place lively. We have not tried the food yet, but the vibe alone guarantees we will be back and we will be coming hungry. This is the kind of place where you settle in, meet the locals, and let the afternoon drift. For the record, our beer of choice that day was "Cougar Bait." It is as much fun to drink as it is to say!

If you're looking for a place that makes you feel like you actually belong in the neighborhood,…read moreVillage Tavern Restaurant is that rare gem that delivers comfort, quality, and character with every plate and pint. From the moment I slid onto a barstool, I knew I was in for something special -- and not just because the beer list reads like a love letter to hop heads and casual sippers alike. Each pint poured is thoughtful, crisp, and refreshing, with local craft brews rubbing shoulders beside tried‑and‑true favorites. I lost count somewhere around the third flight, but honestly? Worth it. And then there's Nancy, the bartender -- sweet lord, if every tavern had her warmth and precision, we'd all be happier people. She recommended beers without braggy pretension, anticipated refills like a mind reader, and managed a perfect balance of friendly conversation and professional grace. Her service alone is worth the trip. Great food, killer beers, and a bartender who makes you feel like a VIP? Village Tavern doesn't just raise the bar -- it is the bar.
