This is one of my favorite restaurants in the Treasure Coast area. I always try to visit here when I'm in the area. I used to live in the area and this place has some unique flavors. On this visit I got the lemon pepper shrimp, finger linkin wings and a side of dirty rice. They moved this restaurant but the food is just as good. While waiting for a door dash order, I commented that the service was slow. I noticed not one patron inside the restaurant. The owner was sitting down in the back eating. After making my comment about slow service, the owner rudely told me "leave if you don't have time to wait." I explained that I have time but I don't understand why service is slow when no one is in the restaurant and she's not doing anything but sitting and eating. She got more angry, jumped out of her seat and came towards me, shouting and pointing at me to leave. As I stood up, she aggressively came toward me and told me to leave, which I was already doing. First of all, I have no idea how this place has a 3.5 review - it should have 5 stars across the board. It is clean, beautiful, cool atmosphere and the staff is absolutely incredible. Everyone is friendly and sweet, from the server to the owner, and we even met one of the chefs. We got the boss hog fries as a starter, which were FULLY LOADED. Not like those other places you go to when there's barely any ingredients on the fries or just sprinkled over the top. That alone was enough for my boyfriend and I, honestly. He got the crispy chicken sandwich and he said it was the best fried chicken he ever had. The tater tots had the most perfect crunch. I had 6 wings in their finger lickin' sauce (sweet with a little bite) and the wings were a nice size and again - the perfect crunch to meat ratio. 10/10 read more

So the whole fam desc descended upon this cute little place in the corner of a strip mall, and we were really, really pleased with what we found. The first thing I wanna comment on is that this business is owned by a very beautiful family and they were super warm and inviting us for our meal that evening. V and I have a ruckus bunch which includes five kids and their 20s in the mood was his lively as you would expect when they all get together. The menu is a lot larger than I initially expected however, they are very known for their chicken and specifically their chicken wings so that became the highlight of everything that we ate. The place is not very large, but does have a full bar and they made great creative cocktails for my daughters which was an unexpected surprise. My two boys drank beers, which was great for them and V and I went with our nonalcoholics. I have to say the chicken wings and all of the sides, including french fries and loaded fries and onion rings and all kinds of different sauces really made for a great meal. The wings were cooked perfectly and there was a ton of food. I really should've taken a picture because it was almost laughable to see how many wings and sandwiches could fit on the table. If you don't mind watching friends of the employees get served before you even tho they arrived 20 mins after you then this is the place for you too. I just don't understand why Owner's of a new restaurant feel that employees should be allowed to make this place their home for their friends. It makes it so unwelcoming to customers. On this trip it took us over 45 mins to get our food last night. It was our second time coming here and it made it our last. We watched a group of 6 come in after us and get served before us and we had ordered 1 appetizer for eat in and a large $90 order to go. The second large order this week. (And the last!) The got welcomed like they hadn't seen each other in years and got served before anyone else in the place... which wouldnt be an issue if we weren't waiting for an appetizer to eat there while waiting for the remaining to go order. There was several walk ins and they too waited. The kitchen staff came out to chat with the group of six and the friends at the bar still we just waited. Another group of 6 came in. No one said anything to them so they left. I don't blame them. I told my husband we should just leave. Then the nachos came and we waited again. I was so ready to walk but my husband is more respectful. I'm not. This place has the worst priorities. This is how businesses shut down. I give this place a year. Crappy service and decent food won't last long. They are paying attention to wrong people. The staff isn't working to keep customers happy .. they are working to keep their friends and themselves happy and that never makes a profit. EVER! Shut the doors now and save the stress. To all those thinking of coming here. Go somewhere else where you will hopefully be appreciated. This place doesn't care about you or your return business or referrals ... Phatz- Vero Beach- 5-Stars Hidden Gem BEST CHICKEN IN FLORIDA If you have ever visited or spent any amount of time in the City of Angeles with a local, then you must have heard of the strange phenomenon of Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles. At first thought, it seems like a strange combination that can't possibly go together. However, when done right, it is spectacular. I don't know if it's an L.A. thing or if Roscoe brought this from wherever he came from, regardless, I never expected to find something as good, if not better, in a run-down strip mall in Vero Beach. While the outside may have left much to be desired, the inside was clean, warm, cozy, albeit Spartanly decorated and permeated with smells of fried chicken and...maple syrup? Met by an exquisitely kind server by the name of Kaye, I was immediately sat and handed a menu. Casting my eyeballs hurriedly down to the end, I found what I thought I smelled...the vaulted Chicken and Waffle combo. Ripping my eyes away from that listing, I turned to the food listed above and placed an order for one Chicken and Shrimp combo, one unsweetened ice tea and the aforementioned Chicken and Waffle combo. Kaye placed our order with the cook, Antoine, and he jumped on it. While he was preparing our meals hand cutting and frying to order, Kaye returned with a ginormous unsweetened tea, this was certainly a value if I have ever drunk one. Before getting to the jewel on the table, I started with a side of Dirty Rice. This is made in house and is utterly unreal. The depth and complexity of flavor is something you just don't expect to find in a "Chicken Shack", but rather from a gourmet kitchen in New Awlins. The chicken wings came with their self proclaimed "World famous" sauce. While I don't know if a couple in say, New South Wales is aware of it, I know they would be talking about it if they ever had it. This sauce is the real deal. I don't know if it's Antoine's recipe or from Robert and Tessa Adams (the owners) or someone's Great Grandpappy, but it is savory, sweet and has this lingering kick I found to be extremely pleasant on the palate. The wings were indeed hand cut and breaded then fried to perfect doneness. They were juicy, tender and farm fresh. The Shrimp is of such high quality that if Antoine told me he had just taken it out of a tank, ripped the head off and peeled, deveined, dredged and fried, I wouldn't have doubted him in the least. They were big, succulent, tasty and top of the line. With that combo out of the way and with a slight lingering kick on my tongue (man, I love that sauce), I greedily began devouring the Chicken and Waffle combo in front of me. I would be remiss if I didn't mention the homemade dredge used by Antoine. It is more than salt, pepper and flour that is for sure. I am leaning towards a Col. Sanders type of secret recipe here as it is like something I have never tasted. The Chicken was absolutely delicious. The flavors from the coating literally partied on my tongue, dancing to and fro from savory to sweet, to spicy. If I concentrated long enough, I was sure it would make me dizzy trying to keep up with the complexity of flavors to be found in this breading. The Waffles. What else can I say about the food here?? Homemade batter, hand dropped, griddled to a supreme golden brown, fresh and springy on the inside with just the right amount of give on the outside these were some of the best waffles I have had and that includes several places that "specialize" in breakfast foods. One bite of glorious chicken mixed with one bite of wonderful waffles and I was in foodie Shangri-La. This is truly a hidden gem, but I don't think it will remain hidden much longer. After 8 years they have expanded to two locations and a food truck. With that in mind, you now have no excuse whatsoever not to try this place. When the wife and I walked in we were told we can sit anywhere. We sat in the back at the 6 seat table. The server stated we couldn't sit there because that was for "parties". We showed up on a Saturday afternoon when they were out of Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay. My wife had to get a Bud Light. My 6 wing combo was delivered to me and the server said she was going to get me a fork. 6 minutes later my wife's food arrived and I had to ask for a fork and my ranch. We asked for grilled chicken on the nachos. We feel they could have been cut or shredded into bite size pieces. The menu stated tomatoes and no tomatoes were on it. The menu also stated queso but it had shredded cheese and queso. Why are there plug-in air fresheners plugged in? We left 30 minutes ago and we still smell like the scent from the plug-in. read more

Ordered food from Phatz and it was delivered by door dash. The door dash delivery person was very quick and did a good job. The food was not warm through no fault of the delivery driver. The BBQ chicken had a yellow mustard sauce. It was overdone and then some. I called Phatz to tell them they put the wrong sauce on the chicken. She told me the yellow sauce was BBQ sauce. I got BBQ sauce on the side with my fries which was red. So....what's up with that? My wife's food was marginal. We will not order from there again. read more

We went there this past Saturday night to eat in. There was a young lady that attended us. She had zero personality, her fave looked like she didn't want to be there. Didn't greet us or smile. While she took our order she kept looking over to her right and asked us to repeat ourselves multiple times. When she took the plates off of our table she stood at the end of the table holding her hand out waiting for us to hand her the plates. I would have been okay with that if she asked us for them nit just stand there. Didn't refill our drinks or offer. She just looked like she didn't want to be there. I ordered honey hot chicken from door dash with french fries. The chicken was okay, but I expected it to taste a little different. The chicken was far too spicy for me. All I could taste was the hot sauce rather than the honey, at that point I thought I just had hot wings, so I did not finish the rest. The fries on the other hand were exceptional, I tasted the honey because I put that I wanted sauce on the fries. The sauce that was on the fries is what I thought the chicken would taste like. I won a Phatz gift card from a social media contest back in April. I picked up the $50 gift card in May. Phatz even liked the 4/28 post. We tried to use the card on 6/14 for dinner at the Vero location and the server said only the Fort Pierce location accepts the card, even though both locations are on the back of the gift card. We tried using the card on 7/7 at the Fort Pierce restaurant. Our server was new, so she asked for help processing the card at the register. One of her coworkers looked at the card and rudely said, "We don't take those" and walked away. Another coworker told us that "her boss hasn't bought the machine to process the card". And we had to pay the bill ourselves. How can they sell gift cards and then not honor them?! I went to the company who gave me the card to let them know. Phatz has been selling these cards and even liked the post on 4/28 and we didn't try to use it until June. There was enough time for them to buy the machine to accept the cards. Do not spend your own money at this restaurant if this is what they do to people. Except for the server that helped us, the others were rude and dismissive.
