I stopped in yesterday at 1:30 to grab some lunch and was terribly disappointed. I ate there about three weeks ago and everything was fine. I got my usual beef burrito with rice and beans with chips and salsa. I was handed a dinner menu that was not a lunch menu and it was a whole different one. Nowhere was my favorite burrito meal. So I ordered a burrito with beans and rice and a strawberry daiquiri. They brought out a burrito covered with this watery white cheese on top and after a few bites I decided I couldn't eat anymore. The bartender asked if I wanted a box and I told him.i didn't want any of it and he took it away I asked for my check and they charged me 12.00 for the drink. Mexican food can be hit or miss in Florida. This is a cautious hit. It isn't the best I've ever had but not even near the worst. It does the job though. My Mexican food taste is a southwest mexican think Southern California and Arizona. This place feels the need. Love the decor and the service and prices were excellent. read more

We were seated in the first booth when you walk in the door so we didn't feel like we were part of the restaurant. We could barely hear the music and with people coming and going, it was an annoying. Our server was very friendly and quickly took our drink order. The menu is large, so something for everyone. I started with a beer, as did my husband. His beer was served in a glass beer mug, whereas mine came in a smaller plastic one. Same price, but not the same glass. They served chips with salsa to start. The salsa was definitely hot, but the chips were stale. I settled on a cup of chicken tortilla soup and a chicken and a beef enchilada with rice. The soup came out piping hot, which I love. It was some of the best chicken enchilada soup I have had in a while. I had barely started my soup and my entree arrived. That makes me so mad as then I have to rush with my soup so my entree doesn't get cold. I didn't need to rush as my meal was barely lukewarm to begin with, which is frustrating. The enchiladas felt as if they had been sitting for quite awhile, so they were not my favorite. The rice was good. It's unfortunate as the enchiladas were filled with protein. When we asked for sour cream, they ended up charging us $1.79 for a scoop. Unbelievable! read more

I've been here many times. While the food can be good, it's very inconsistent. Ordering the same dish on different visits often results in noticeable changes--sometimes the salad is missing, other times guacamole is substituted even though the menu clearly shows sliced avocado. In one instance, the avocado was brought out after I asked about it, which showed they had it available. Unfortunately, the service is consistently disappointing. The attitude from the staff--starting with the hostess--often feels unfriendly, and the employees generally appear unhappy. With more consistency in both food presentation and customer service, this place could be much better. read more

Just stopped in for a quick bite. Wasn't really very hungry but hadn't even eaten breakfast. Decided to have a snack. Ordered a plate of refried beans with cheese and a side of avocado. Although it's not hard to mess those up, it was fresh, delicious, and the service was excellent. I didn't do any research on this place ahead of time, but it seems that it's family operated? I love the cozy setting with all of the colors, artsy decorative accents and low level cheery Mexican pop music. The other patrons seemed genuinely pleased too. read more

Definitely overrated on g--- that's why i should have looked on yelp! Stopped for dinner and definitely not the best and probably the worst as far as Mexican food I have had. Let's start with the salsa and chips the salsa tastes like spaghetti sauce. That should have been the sign! Then we ordered fajitas and chicken wings barbecue with a side of buffalo hot. The wings were just okay but the buffalo hot sauce was horrid. Then the rice came out cold for the fajitas - then they bring the meat on a separate trip this was the first time I had unseasoned Mexican food and guess what still no fajitas. Then we got the corn fajitas we chose last with our choice of corn. Service was decent but not over the top until I realized she charges extra for the side of buffalo sauce that I didn't like and asked for hot sauce instead. Instead of her just removing the $1 she wanted to argue I didn't say anything. Which I did when I asked for the hot sauce. We moved to Palm Bay a few months ago but we have already driven to Sebastian half a dozen times just to eat Mexican food at Ay Jalisco. We love everything about this little restaurant, the atmosphere, colorful decor, great service and absolutely delicious food! And the prices are very reasonable. We've tried several other Mexican restaurants in the PB area but this is hands down the best. read more

It has been here for years. We went about 4.30 and the staff was wrapping silverware when we walked in. They did not get up to greet us. We were told to just pick one of the booths and someone would be with us. It took a few minutes but the waiter to come and then he had to get menus. It took a bit for him to come back. When we were ordering he could not answer simple questions like is there sour cream on this dish or can we get corn tortilla instead.. we finally got our food and the plates were super hot but the food was not. The tamale was simple but good and the enchilada had a bunch of beef in it but was on the fatty side. I will try something else next time read more

Party of 3, Thursday, December 15th, 2022 6:30pm Private parking lot, short wait but nothing too crazy, hostess/server were delightful, efficient, friendly, the definition of service with a smile. We were seated and served our chips/salsa and drinks. We had two more basket of chips with a side of guacamole (we can't get enough/addicts). Our food order taken immediately. Order came in a timely fashion, hot, fresh and absolutely delicious (hats off to the chef). My mother always has her shrimp cocktail, they specially make her husbands dish with the skirt steak and pepper, I try something new every time I join them for dinner. This is my favorite restaurant in Sebastian. The food is always total deliciousness. The salsa is the best. I always order their queso. I was with two other people. Everyone enjoyed the food. The ambiance is wonderful. You feel like you are dining in Mexico. The servers are excellent. I have never had a server that was not attentive. The teamwork is the best. Food is always served hot. This is a standalone building. Plenty of parking. Clean restrooms. Make sure you order the flan!! I had to take mine to go because I was so full. There is a lunch menu Monday - Friday. First off - I am not usually the one to question someone's integrity on a picture they posted but COME ON! Seriously? A picture of a bug on a plate of food that's EMPTY and when you zoom in on the bug, there's no seasoning/sauce or doesn't even seem cooked. They probably brought the bug there, put it on their plate and because they didn't get the money back, posted this pic and then probably gave a bad review. That vent session is because when you pull up Mexican on Yelp locally, that's the first pic you see and it doesn't even seem accurate. Anyways, we showed up with a party of 4 on a Monday and it was dead. I thought the food was decent, not great but decent. The shredded pork was recommended so I ordered those in a taco... Tasted like roast pork. Chips and salsa was great and so was our server, not taste wise of course. I also ordered the Green Iguana which tasted like straight Tequila with a little bit of green food coloring and some sugar around the rim of the glass. I swear I told like 10 gulps out of that glass and the damn thing was still almost full. I did get a good buzz by finishing it but I wouldn't recommend. read more

I'm just going to keep this one simple. The food was really good and the portions were massive. However, the entire experience was distasteful. The hostess was not knowledgeable of the layout of the restaurant, the stand-in host never relayed information to the host, and our server was rude and paid us no attention. The food is very good at Ay Jalisco. I have been there many times despite the poor service because the food is good. After my last trip there, I made a promise to myself not to return. The staff is extremely unfriendly. They seem to be unaware that they are in the hospitality business. We have stood by the front foyer area for long periods of time waiting to be greeted or seated despite the restaurant being empty. We have been ignored multiple times when asking for another bowl of chips and if they do bring one it will be almost empty. Came here with the family for lunch. Fun atmosphere, colorful! Was seated immediately and served drinks. I was told by my sister in law that the sangria is amazing! She was right!
