My wife introduced me to this spot, and I have been here three times now. Each time has been excellent between a friendly and inviting atmosphere, to a menu with lots of choices, and drinks that are very tasty. I have been making a point to try something new each time I go. The most recent was the tortilla soup, and Pollo à la Crema. Both were very flavorful and good portion sizes. Used to be good, now we almost stopped going here, but noticed each time we go here the past 3-4 times we were sick with a flu and teeth aches, as if someone is making us sick who works here with Ciguatera fish poisoning or something. The waiter David used to be great, we loved eating here, he knew how to give great service, always checking back and attentive, but now sick every time after we eat here with these two ladies who work here. Bring David back please! The two short chunky ladies that work here now during the day in the week each time we go here are so bad, bad attitudes, bad service, and they seem to be filled with hate or something, just very bad service. And then we get sick after eating here the past 3-4 times now. It will hurt this place. Anyway, we will not eat here anymore. We cannot afford to be sick after each time we go here to eat. Too, the last time they charged us for more salsa, which they never did before, we had to wait so long for our food, all the salsa was gone with the chips, and then they charged for more. My wife and I really enjoy Ay Jalisco. We went for lunch a few weeks back. The service is always friendly and efficient and the food is very good and priced well. We ordered the Chicken Fajitas for 2. A ton of delicious tasty chicken with peppers and onions, flour tortillas and all the fixings. Really good guacamole. The only problem is that they give you so much food - I never have room for dessert and I really want to try their tres leche. I highly recommend and we plan to return soon. Oh, before I forget, we saw 2 women seated near us order what looked like fajitas served over half a pineapple. It looked amazing. Getting that next time. The server had an oven mitt on and couldn't reach the other side so someone had to grab it. If you cannot hold it without an oven mitt, do not give it to a customer without one. Nearly dropped the plate. Also, our server closed our tab without asking if we wanted dessert which we did, so we finally got to order dessert and they sent a new check. We ended up asking another waiter to get our waiter. We also asked 4 times for a to go box, which another server was able to get for us. I can't recommend this place enough. We were looking for a Mexican place that didn't break the bank, which during this time of inflation is not easy to find. I wasn't too sure, with some of the reviews I saw, but man, this place did not disappoint. My husband and daughter and I split the 3 item combo, and a Supreme Burrito, we had 2 of the $2.50 drafts (Pacifico, and Modelo Negra). We were in and out in 45 minutes with a refill of chips. There was a 20 something young man that was running around serving multiple tables and cleaning up everywhere. We were all sick for 2-3 days, my husband ended up in the hospital severely dehydrated. I found this restaurant by mistake while at my Vet next door. We are fairly new to the area. We love the food so much, we are going once a week. I had the shrimp and chicken fajitas. My husband loves the beef tacos. The food is fresh with generous portions. The chips and salsa are excellent. Chips are served warm.. yum. I could fill up on just the chips and salsa. Absolutely delish. I highly recommend this place. The wait staff is professional and very attentive. The prices are very reasonable too! I would eat here every night of the week. It's definitely not a 5 star place and there are a few things (not mission critical) to improve, but overall a decent Mexican option for the area. We actually wanted to go to Tapatio originally, but they don't have a bar nor liquor license. Tough to find good Mexican in Vero. We had two orders of fajitas - steak and shrimp. I got the Steak Ranchero (steak with tomatoes and onions) which also came with rice and beans. It Was pretty good overall. If I could do it again, I wouldn't have ordered the dip sampler. The queso is good, but meals come with beans and guacamole for the most part so it's overkill. The service was friendly and hard working. The ladies all band together to make it happen. They don't have a full bar so only beer or cocktails like margaritas made with wine. Dine in if you're in the area. * Also you can't fault these folks for messed up online orders from third party technology companies. Blame the app not the restaurant. Straight forward and simple Mexican food done well. I had a skirt steak that was slightly over-grilled at medium-well but still very flavorful and tender. I enjoyed it immensely. If I could give negative starts I would. During COVID times I've tried my best to support local restaurants and order deliver whenever I have the opportunity. It is extremely in bad taste for a restaurant to take advantage of the fact that you are ordering delivery to get rid of low quality items. I ordered a guacamole and chips order. The guacamole WAS BLACK.... BLACK!!!! It is completely disrespectful to send a customer BLACK GUACAMOLE. You would NEVER serve a sitting customer BLACK GUACAMOLE. Then why send it to a customer who ordered delivery... Let's just say I will NEVER order from this place again... Yes.. it might have been only like 6 bucks worth of guacamole, but the incredible disappointment and nausea brought upon the opening of the container with guacamole is more than enough to have thrown away all of the food I ordered.. because if that is what they do with the ingredients I CAN SEE, I don't even want to imagine what they do with the things I CAN'T.
