This used to be a regular fave for us for the last 10 years. Key word USED to be...not sure what happened since we last visited several months back. At the least, the menu is completely different. Claims to be "California" Mexican. Couldn't be farther from the truth. Putting broccoli, cauliflower and mushrooms in many dishes is not that. Half the menu is single order tacos of various varieties, not a bad thing in and of itself. The problem is what is missing. One burrito option on the entire menu (another instance of a "California" name on it apparently because of the inclusion of the aforementioned veggies). Otherwise there is a vague, unexplained offering of "make it a burrito". Just sparse and strange combinations of ingredients in what is available. The food we did have was ok, nothing special. Refried beans, for example, which used to be spot on CA style, are now tasteless. Guac was pedestrian. You get the picture. Service was poor. Waited 5 minutes before anybody even came to the door to seat us. Not a huge deal but a good preview of what we had in store. One server for the entire place, bar included - on a Friday evening. Maybe an effort to save expenses? Not the way to do it. The only positive is that they painted the exterior and the place is looking good. But without the food or service, best of luck. Although I've been in this area 25 years and frequented dos amigos many times, its just been changed too many times. The food is not what it used to be. On most items the sides of rice and beans comes separate. The quality is not there and the service isn't either. Floors and outside need swept more often. Atmosphere changed also and sn't the same. Great Mexican restaurant with Mexican motif and good music. Sit outside or in. Fresh hot chips with salsa. I ordered one grilled shrimp taco. It was loaded with shrimp, lettuce, tomato and cheese. It was so good and filling. Plus it was $5! You can't beat that. Friendly staff and quick! read more

This was the 4th time I went to eat here and each time it's getting worse. The entire restaurant is dirty-tables, floors and walls. Our silverware is always dirty and the water glasses that are plastic are all chipped and rough where you drink out of them. We were advised to use a straw so we wouldn't cut our mouths. Service is always slow and orders come out wrong or missing something. I had to remind the waiter 3 times about my drink order. He was afraid to ask the bartender who was too busy talking to patrons than doing his job. Will need to start looking for some other Mexican restaurant in our are read more

I've seen many negative reviews since the original owner sold the place. We came today to watch the game. Pleasant bartender with great service. We had the Mufelata, not only was it cool to look at because it comes on fire but it was delicious and big enough for two people with leftovers to take home. We will definitely be back. read more

What happened??? We have been coming here for 40 years. Our last trip was a disaster. Food was horrible from the salsa to the cheese dip to the watered down drinks to the bland food. If I could give this place zero stars I would. We ordered queso, drunken burrito, chicken fajitas, and a kids Mac and cheese and fries. They didn't even give us silverware, we had to get them out of the bin ourself. The salsa was not fresh and tasted like it came out of a jar. The queso had an unmelted block in the middle and the sides were molten hot. The drunken burrito had shredded plastic like cheese melted on top. I took one bite and the chicken was so chewy and not edible. The fajitas were soggy and had no flavor. Chicken was also very chewy. The refried beans were also burnt. The food here was completely awful. I ordered the burrito ranchro and it was so wet, soggy, and gross. Within my party of 5 not one person had anything good to say about the food. So terrible we couldn't even finish it. Just when I thought things couldn't get any worse, the service was absolutely garbage. This is our return to Dos Amigos after a long absence. It is under new management, thankfully. From one of my previous reviews, old management had let the food slip into mediocrity or worse. The good news is that current ownership has improved the food and service greatly!! Our service was friendly and helpful. The food was very good, whichnis a welcome change. The ground beef tacos were very good, and the Philly steak tacos were excellent! Not traditional.me can, but they were delicious! The salsa was spicy and very tasty, warm chips rounded out a great meal, supported by a nice cold Modelo at Taco Tiesday special price. We will definitely come back and share that Dos Amigos is back! Cantina Dos Amigos offers mediocre Mexican food at a bit high of a price point. Service is not bad and the ambiance is OK, but nothing special. It seems that a lot of people come for the drink specials. I guess a lot of people come here for those drink specials or maybe just out of habit. Growing up in Melbourne, I've been to Dos Amigos, but only today visited and decided to review. Stopping in for lunch, we were sat inside, which the lighting was just a bit too dark for me. The waitress was super courteous and attentative, always offering refills, a plus. Granted this restaurant is beach side, so prices are more than your average Mexican joint, without the quality of food. Free salsa didn't taste very fresh, but nonetheless I don't complain with free. We ordered the white queso, which was actually good. I didn't see the lunch menu or specials unfortunately until the waitress removed the menu so I ordered the two taco dinner (with pulled pork) with Spanish rice and beans. It was just alright. Beautiful Mexican decor!! Server, cashier, busboy (all one guy) was the best ever! My shrimp taco dish was not that great and very hard to eat (falling apart ugh). Chips and salsa were good but the melted cheese was awesome. The mini taco appetizer was the best! Just for the happy ambience and that incredible server I will go back if I'm in Melbourne again. After waiting another ten minutes, they went to the back to check the status and had not yet started making our order (which was literally just 2 tacos). We finally got the order 20 minutes later with generic excuses and apologies. Upon inspecting our tacos, we noticed they put onions on them after we explicitly asked for NO onions when ordering. My mom also found a few pieces of PLASTIC in her rice - along with peas and carrots which is fine but a little odd for Mexican rice. Dos was always on their short list of "whaddya want for dinner?" places - right next to stopping to see Frankie for a slice at Bizarro's and Longdogger's for a mork. Perfect family-oriented dinner choices on our way home after school and practice and all the other after-school kid events on a 'school night'. Loved Dos for the tasty chips & salsa. The delish tacos. And enchiladas. And the chile rellenos. And before Moo's showed up, the fried ice cream. And we always felt like family with the friendly welcome from Nancy & Lou. Recently found ourselves all together and wanting to recreate the beachside family dinner magic. Back to Dos. What? Name change? Uh oh. We could never have predicted just how badly our fave Tex-Mex place has fallen apart. This place is really bad. Worse than bad. Long waits. Cold food. Wrong orders. High prices. Tasteless. Yuck. Being a native has always inoculated us from the tourist traps that inhabit beach towns all over FL. If you know you know. And we always knew to avoid CB and DB for exactly this reason. But now one of Indialantic's best has jumped the shark. What? Just like watching the death of Ramon's and the Surf and Alma's and the Mousetrap and Fisherman's Wharf, and the Dove and the A Frame, and Fat Boy's and Memaw's and the Purple Porpoise, and Ray's and Nick's and SBI - all long gone - Dos has now succumbed and faded away into obscurity. Tragic. RIP Dos. A1A in Brevard sure had some good eats back in the day. At least I still proudly carry my +20 lbs lovingly earned at what were a huge part of my family's formative dining years. We used to go here frequently but will re-think that now. Went recently and the entire menu had changed! Our server who was very nice told us it was under new management. There were new triangular plates that we were told was to try to make things more upscale. They took my fave off the menu... Hellfire and Damnation chicken enchiladas. Very good all round place to go if you like Tex-Mex. I have been coming here every time I come on vacation. I personally have been getting the tacos since I was little and have loved them ever since! The fried ice cream is amazing and I've had various items that I have never disliked! The service is swift and timely and the ambiance is similar to your average Tex-Mex place. Doesn't look like much when you walk past but the food will be sure to prove otherwise. My husband and I come here often, and their .99 margaritas on Wednesdays are a definite seller! The fresh chips and house made salsa are on the table shortly after your seated so you can enjoy them while you look over their full menu. My go to is the Pollo a la creme, you really can't go wrong with a creamy white sauce over top of peppers, onions and grilled chicken. It's also a huge portion, especially after I fill up in chips and salsa so I always have leftovers(yum)! Or the street tacos. Really can't go wrong with either! And as a nice sweet treat you get a churro with your check. Service is always spot on here too. This night we had Cam and he was so attentive! Despite being busy he made sure to check on us multiple times and made sure to inform us of their awesome specials. Definitely go on a Wednesday and ask to sit in his section if you want great service. We usually opt for the patio but the indoor is fun and festive with multiple televisions if you like something to watch while you eat. Overall this place always exceeds our expectations with quality of food and service. We've been to some much fancier restaurants will much worse service. You get your money's worth here. read more

I picked up the steak rice bowl plus an order of guacamole and chips. Pix of menus said the bowl with chicken was $9.95. $2 up charge for steak. They charged me $19. The guacamole was $9. When I questioned the charges, I was told that they were changing prices. Everything was almost double the price it should have been. The meal was a rip off and not worth $30. The service was terrible. Unfortunately, last weekend Saturday noon, I had opportunity to dine here I found that the service was greatly concerning and disrespectful. I had a boy serve me chips, his name was Alex. He was smoking on the job and kissing girls in the back. Normally this doesn't surprise me but he's most definetly of age and he disrespected me.
