    Big Island Burrito

My wife and I shared a Big Island Burrito. It was very good. The service was very good. We were welcomed by our server. The restaurant is inviting with an island theme. Very inviting. I recommend this restaurant for dinner. I need to try the Big Island Breakfast Burrito.

Great food and staff! We come here a lot for lunch and the food never disappoints. Don't forget to try their Sunday brunch menu as well.

SCW and I stopped into Big Island Burrito as our usual burrito restaurant in Melbourne beach moved to a different location. The locals have recommended them in the past and it was near where we were taking a quick getaway. The service was great. From the moment we arrived we were warmly welcomed. We were more interested in takeout which they do and we got menus at the counter. As vegetarians I was a bit disappointed to find that they only had one burrito listed as vegetarian. The rest of the offerings all had some sort of meat as the protein source. I really wanted a bowl but got the vegetarian burrito instead as it seemed like that was the only option for my dietary needs. Maybe offer black beans? Any beans? Tofu? Just veggies as options in the bowls/nachos/tacos. Maybe they do but it wasn't very apparent. So again, minus the star for that. The interior was nicely decorated with lots of art, drawings and interesting posters. The veggie burrito was very good. Flavorful and filling. Certainly a generous sized portion. The staff are outstanding, several times we were offered water/drinks while we waited and they were incredibly kind. Our takeout took less than 10 minutes to get.

I truly enjoy BIB! I had the Cabo burrito with Sharon's sauce. The sauce is so good! The burrito is the perfect soft texture. I am a home made chip person or from tortillas and not a fan of the Tostito style chips, so the chips are the one thing that I would say could use an upgrade. If you are looking for a good local burrito, this is the place! Cute local spot with good service!

Food is AMAZING!!! The kitchen did make the wrong order for me. As they sent it out they recognized the mistake. They gave me the wrong order for free and sent out the correct order a few minutes later. They were both really good anyways!! You can tell that the food is fresh.

    Beach Bum Burrito

So we decided to try this place out. Have been driving by for years. Glad we did. We ordered two extreme burritos. A Beach Bum. The chicken was very well seasoned. The next one was a custom one with Barbacoa Beef, black beans and queso on top. Our servers were very attentive and friendly. No rushing us out the door nor abandonment of us. It is a no frills seating arrangement with booths and picnic tables. This was a great surprise. And we will be back. PRO TIP. No WiFi but the pizza joint next door does. Strong signal. Look for that review soon

Sunday Funday menu. Breakfastand brunch options

I was looking for a Mexican brunch on Sunday and found this place. Friendly greeting when I walked in and chill music playing in the background. The special Sunday menu was just what I was looking for. It has a nice beach bar feel to it that transports you away from the old strip mall location outside. I got the extreme breakfast burrito and chose bacon as the meat. It came with a side of sausage gravy, which throws a southern spin on a Mexican concept. It was just what I was looking for in its own way. A little later in the day, the $2 mimosas might have drawn me in.

On a repeat visit to the area, we knew we needed Mexican food. We walked inside two other restaurants (and straight back out!) before seeing the sign for BIB from the road, and decided to see if it would work for our family. Jackpot. Menu was a variety of Mexican foods, mostly tacos, burritos and bowls. Seating was casual. Prices were average. We will be recommending this venue to family and friends - what a gem!

A nice place with a relaxed atmosphere to enjoy delicious tacos and burritos. We came here after a beach day wanting a quick eat and this place hit the spot. We got blackened mahi tacos and a steak burrito and both were very good. The best part was all the sauces that we got to try with our meal. It definitely made the food taste better and made it a fun experience. The service was really fast and our waitress was nice. It was a relaxing atmosphere and we felt like we could sit there and socialize even after we were done with our food. We will definitely come back here again when we are in the area.

I came here for lunch with my brother and parents while on vacation and was pleasantly impressed from the start. Our waiter, Jesus, stopped by quickly with warm chips and salsa and was attentive throughout the meal, keeping chips refilled and waters topped off without us needing to ask. The food arrived incredibly fast. We ordered the Burrito Deluxe, Hawaiian Fajitas, Chicken Fajitas, Avocado Salad with chicken, and a beef quesadilla. Everything was excellent, with generous portions. Burritos and quesadillas were filled simply with plenty of meat and cheese, while rice, beans, sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, and tomato were served on the side. The fajitas followed a similar setup, with meat and veggies on a hot plate and tortillas and sides served separately. Even coming from a "clean plate club" family, we still needed three takeout containers to clear the table. Those who are spice-averse will be happy to know the house salsa is mild and was enjoyed by everyone in our group. One thing to note: the Hawaiian Fajitas include shrimp, which is not listed on the menu. This was disappointing for me due to my allergy, but a delight for my parents, who happily raced to pick the shrimp out of the dish. After striking out at several nearby restaurants, we were glad to find this spot and will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

Down from five stars since the servers seemed a bit absent today. Protip: 2 prices cash or credit.

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more Prior to my initial visit, there are two reasons why I wanted to check out MASA Taqueria Y Cantina (which I will shorthand to MASA for the remainder of this review after the first paragraph). The first reason is the name. Though plenty of Mexican restaurants in English-speaking countries, especially in the U.S., do this, the translation from Spanish-to-English for MASA made me crack a smile. MASA Taqueria Y Cantina roughly translates to DOUGH Taco Restaurant and Bar. Leave it to Mexican restaurants in English-speaking countries to use simplistic titles for their businesses knowing Spanish is romance language and will sound fantastic even if the translation is considered "mundane" or "plain." Second reason: MASA was given a recognition of gratitude from Coastline Community Church, the non-denominational Christian church located right next to them. While attending one of their services, I learned their congregation often "overflows" into MASA's parking lot, especially during events. Despite this, the owners and operators/workers at MASA are gracious about it. The pastor asked us a favor and if we could, show them some love and stop by their restaurant. And that is what I did, along with my friend Heather and kids who invited me to Coastline Community Church since that was her home church at the time. Though an address is provided, MASA is located on the Southside of Eau Gallie Blvd., just east of the bridge. They happen to be next-door neighbors with Red Crab: Juicy Seafood and Bar. For those who've lived in the area (or the Space Coast for that matter), it used to be the "weird" Mulligan's Beach House Bar & Grill (I say it was weird because all Mulligan's locations are on or a stone's throw away from the water and this one was "landlocked."). From the start, MASA utilizes a mix of classic Mexican American culture, Florida style, and splashes of simple class. Their building looks like a modernized Adobe building showcasing an outdoor patio dining area often popularized among the Florida natives during summer nights or Hurricane parties. Their namesake and logo - their take on a Dia de Los Muertos Skull - are emblazoned all in black against a light background on the side of their building, which has a full view from Eau Gallie Blvd. Inside, there is a modern approach to decor meaning simplistic wood and metal dining furniture, collage art, and neon lights spelling out simplistically catchy phrases that parody pop culture like "Say hello to my Taco friend!" We opted to sit outside since it was kinda cool despite the light moisture from the rain clouds all around us. Outside dining is not bad, but unless you are sitting at one of their outdoor dining tables and chairs, it is kind of awkward eating food from low-level outdoor couches and coffee tables. Skylar was our waitress and she was kind and attentive enough. She did take extra care of Heather since she had two young kids with her which I admire. As for food, it ranges from classic Mexican to true Mexican/Floridian fusion. I ordered their take on Chicken and Waffles which is Chicken and Churros, and the Meat Street Tacos. Heather got the Rice Bowl with House Meat (chicken). Her kids ate whatever they were served, but also got some french fries, too. Definitely need to go back with friends and attack those Mexican/Floridian fusion meals including the Taco Longboard and the Totchos (Tater Tot Nachos). A couple of side notes:, the restrooms were clean and stocked, which is good given the business of the Sunday church rush. And MASA does have official merchandise for sale. Their primary store items are t-shirts and cups, but I was able to get a free sticker for my sticker book. For my initial visit, I am giving MASA four out of five stars. Fantastic atmosphere that is a mix of traditional and modern, fantastic food in which their Florida fusion makes them stand out from the many other Mexican restaurants here in the Space Coast (or Florida for that matter as there can be way too many of them), and fantastic service overall. I also got to talk to the manager and he gave me some suggestions for my next visit. When I return, let's say a couple more times, and MASA on average is as good as this initial visit (or even better), I'll update their review to a perfect five-star score, granting them their fifth star for consistency.

If you are a bulb/lighting consesuir, you will appreciate some of the incandescent bulbs and pipe structure. The food portions are rather large. two can eat from one plate. We ordered chicken fajitas and an extra side of tortillas. Stuffed to our faces. I had also ordered a steak rice bowl, without knowing the portion, got it to go :) The "uno, dos, tres" appetizer was perfect as well. Almost to say it's like a sampler of the guac, queso (paprika is added. This was different for me but it heightens the queso flavor) and salsa. If you enjoy dessert, the brownie is a must have. Served with vanilla ice cream, whip cream and chocolate/caramel like syrup. *mouth watering* Our waitress was very kind and helpful. If back in the area, we will definitely swing by again.

At the least, the menu is completely different. Claims to be "California" Mexican. Couldn't be farther from the truth. Putting broccoli, cauliflower and mushrooms in many dishes is not that. Half the menu is single order tacos of various varieties, not a bad thing in and of itself. The problem is what is missing. One burrito option on the entire menu (another instance of a "California" name on it apparently because of the inclusion of the aforementioned veggies). Otherwise there is a vague, unexplained offering of "make it a burrito". Just sparse and strange combinations of ingredients in what is available. The food we did have was ok, nothing special. Refried beans, for example, which used to be spot on CA style, are now tasteless. Guac was pedestrian. You get the picture. Service was poor. Waited 5 minutes before anybody even came to the door to seat us. Not a huge deal but a good preview of what we had in store. One server for the entire place, bar included - on a Friday evening. Maybe an effort to save expenses? Not the way to do it. The only positive is that they painted the exterior and the place is looking good. But without the food or service, best of luck.
