Carne Asada

I really enjoyed this lil place. The smiles and the number of seats filled was a good sign. The Margaritas and appetizers, good start. Atmosphere you'll forget you are on A1A for a lil while. I enjoyed my meal. Carnitas tender full of flavor. Beans fresh and homemade w peppers and onions , mole STFU. Bonus desert, I'll need a nap.

I'm from Texas and love Tex-Mex food and culture. This is our second visit, and as neither visit has been great we will not come back until a change. On both visits, the service was good (not amazing, but good). That's not the issue. The brunch menu has been scaled down, and they no longer have omelets. But you wouldn't know that because Yelp doesn't show anything more current and they don't have a website. The brunch used to be twice the size and was much more impressive. Maybe they scaled back because traffic didn't support the menu. In that case, I'd argue it's the ambiance. The side patio (the only covered area), is small and awkward. Probably great at night when you're drinking. But during the day for brunch or lunch there's just not much to see and the space is cramped. There's an amazing front area with sand and 3 picnic tables, but no one would want to sit there without shade. All that is needed is a corrugated patio ceiling or a canvas patio cover, and you'd have a great place that people would actually want to come to. As is, there's nothing fun about the outside. The food is okay for Tex-Mex. I'd give it a 4 for Florida standards, but a 3 by Texas standards. Salsa doesn't taste homemade. Chillaquiiles were actually on point. Went with the red sauce and it had some heat! Breakfast burrito was so stuffed with soft potatoes, it just tasted like a mashed potato burrito. Bummed about the sad side building vibes, smaller brunch menu, and bad salsa. I wish this could be our new weekend brunch or dinner spot, but no. Needs a major exterior overhaul for that. You can't have a successful restaurant in Florida with a cruddy patio.

New Mexican place. Note I did not say TexMex And it certainly is not sit down Taco Bell. They have remodeled the interior and are still working on the decor. A bit noisy so some sound panel or painting on the walls to break up the sound would help. Soft opening. Still working through the kinks as to be expected. But we need this place to survive. We need options beachside so please give this place a shot. Family owned and operated. The staff wants to please. That is nice 50 of the battle. We had fajita burrito which was pretty good my pallets was a little off so I had my wife taste the chicken. She said it was tasty. She order up a chimichanga and she said the shredded sneed was excellent. Having a shredded beef option in straw dog ground beef is a big plus. We had the guacamole app and it was good and home made. Not too oniony. A little less "green" then I would have expected and I am not sure why. Home made so it was definitely fresh. Pro tip1 only place you will find home made tortillas when you order up their tacos. The chips and salsa come with homemade chips too. Such a difference. Some may say we have enough Mexican places to eat beachside. Competition is good as all will up their game. Support them. I will.

Fried ice cream and churros

They were very accommodating to our group of 19! The staff was super friendly and attentive. The food was delicious. Our group love the tacos, enchiladas, and chimichangas. The queso was a hit too! For desert we had churros, fried ice cream and sopapillas. No one complained except some of the bigger kids wished they had ordered more tacos. The restaurant was quiet when we were there but decorated nicely with butterflies.

Traditional wet burrito with barbacoa.

There are quite a few Mexican restaurants on the beach and I've tried them all. I think this place is the best. Bright and cozy inside. A nice little bar with quite a few happy hour specials. I've had the tacos all varieties. All good. On fresh made tortillas. Today I had the traditional wet burrito with barbacoa. It was very delicious and because it was the special of the day it was only $10. I lot of food for a fair price. My wife commented that everything just tasted fresh. The tortilla chips were warm, the salsa was good and fresh, I asked for a spicier version and they brought me one that cleared my sinuses! Hot but flavorful too! I came once before for breakfast and that was good too. I had a dish that was like a Mexican version of eggs benny. Corn cakes with carnitas, poached eggs and a chipotle hollandaise sauce. Also just excellent.

A1A bowl - rice, corn, and black beans topped with salmon. Other savory protein options available.

Consistently fresh and delicious! I stopped by after work, taking advantage of the Happy Hour special and enjoying a delicious A1A bowl topped with perfectly grilled salmon. Word of caution the salsa is delicious, don't fill up on it-save room for your entree!

Shrimp fajitas

3.5 I'll be giving this a break & going back to my usual Tequila Azul by the mall. My experience tonight wasn't great. I had to ask the server for everything. I never got corn tortillas. I ordered the garlic shrimp but he brought me Diablo. I purposely went back to try something different. My son noticed this time & last time that the floor wasn't clean. On a good note, they got right no cheese on my beans.

The food is fresh and delicious. It was fast. The service is great. The staff friendly. And it's beautifully decorated

Chicken tamale
Dolly S.

Not my favorite Mexican place, but I would go back for the tamales, especially at Christmas time when they will have more than chicken. The tamale sauce was on point with one of the best flavors. The margaritas were so good and I really do not get a margarita that often. The enchiladas were OK. I found the red sauce to be a lot mild and watery. The green sauce on the spinach enchilada has more flavor. The pork quesidalla was good and they will put pineapple on it if you want. The nachos were fine but the chips could have been fresher

Huevos Rancheros
gloria f.

What a gem! The tortilla chips were warm & fresh. The huevos rancheros was delicious. I kept one star back for the weak coffee (the OJ was good, tho). Service was wonderful. The setting was bright & clean. I'll return.

House Margarita. Basically undrinkable. It was all mix - disgustingly sweet.

Pass on the TOO sweet house Margarita. It was undrinkable. There are other adult beverages that would be a safer bet. Definitely try the Shrimp Ceviche Appetizer! Yum!!

Breakfast veggie tacos and grits.
Beach L.

Not sure what happened, maybe new cooks, but from the time they opened to now, the food is different. Their guacamole used to be the best in town. Thick, creamy, fresh, the last two visits, it reminded me of what comes out of a container from the grocery store. The salsa - an entire bowl had maybe 1 Tbsp. of chopped onions, etc, the rest, tomato sauce. One of our dishes had no seasoning, no taste. A couple of other things, but I think that's enough to share. We noticed it last visit, then returned for one more chance, hoping that it was an off night. We wish them luck and hope they can get things back to what they were.

I came here for lunch with my brother and parents while on vacation and was pleasantly impressed from the start. Our waiter, Jesus, stopped by quickly with warm chips and salsa and was attentive throughout the meal, keeping chips refilled and waters topped off without us needing to ask. The food arrived incredibly fast. We ordered the Burrito Deluxe, Hawaiian Fajitas, Chicken Fajitas, Avocado Salad with chicken, and a beef quesadilla. Everything was excellent, with generous portions. Burritos and quesadillas were filled simply with plenty of meat and cheese, while rice, beans, sour cream, guacamole, lettuce, and tomato were served on the side. The fajitas followed a similar setup, with meat and veggies on a hot plate and tortillas and sides served separately. Even coming from a "clean plate club" family, we still needed three takeout containers to clear the table. Those who are spice-averse will be happy to know the house salsa is mild and was enjoyed by everyone in our group. One thing to note: the Hawaiian Fajitas include shrimp, which is not listed on the menu. This was disappointing for me due to my allergy, but a delight for my parents, who happily raced to pick the shrimp out of the dish. After striking out at several nearby restaurants, we were glad to find this spot and will definitely be back next time we're in the area.

But grease is fat and fat is flavor. Burrito deluxe was also out quickly and a large portion. All good with it. The lunch specials seem to be the same as dinner. Good portions and huge flavors. Down from five stars since the servers seemed a bit absent today. Protip: 2 prices cash or credit.

MASA Taqueria Y Cantina

MASA Taqueria Y Cantina

**INITIAL REVIEW**…read more Prior to my initial visit, there are two reasons why I wanted to check out MASA Taqueria Y Cantina (which I will shorthand to MASA for the remainder of this review after the first paragraph). The first reason is the name. Though plenty of Mexican restaurants in English-speaking countries, especially in the U.S., do this, the translation from Spanish-to-English for MASA made me crack a smile. MASA Taqueria Y Cantina roughly translates to DOUGH Taco Restaurant and Bar. Leave it to Mexican restaurants in English-speaking countries to use simplistic titles for their businesses knowing Spanish is romance language and will sound fantastic even if the translation is considered "mundane" or "plain." Second reason: MASA was given a recognition of gratitude from Coastline Community Church, the non-denominational Christian church located right next to them. While attending one of their services, I learned their congregation often "overflows" into MASA's parking lot, especially during events. Despite this, the owners and operators/workers at MASA are gracious about it. The pastor asked us a favor and if we could, show them some love and stop by their restaurant. And that is what I did, along with my friend Heather and kids who invited me to Coastline Community Church since that was her home church at the time. Though an address is provided, MASA is located on the Southside of Eau Gallie Blvd., just east of the bridge. They happen to be next-door neighbors with Red Crab: Juicy Seafood and Bar. For those who've lived in the area (or the Space Coast for that matter), it used to be the "weird" Mulligan's Beach House Bar & Grill (I say it was weird because all Mulligan's locations are on or a stone's throw away from the water and this one was "landlocked."). From the start, MASA utilizes a mix of classic Mexican American culture, Florida style, and splashes of simple class. Their building looks like a modernized Adobe building showcasing an outdoor patio dining area often popularized among the Florida natives during summer nights or Hurricane parties. Their namesake and logo - their take on a Dia de Los Muertos Skull - are emblazoned all in black against a light background on the side of their building, which has a full view from Eau Gallie Blvd. Inside, there is a modern approach to decor meaning simplistic wood and metal dining furniture, collage art, and neon lights spelling out simplistically catchy phrases that parody pop culture like "Say hello to my Taco friend!" We opted to sit outside since it was kinda cool despite the light moisture from the rain clouds all around us. Outside dining is not bad, but unless you are sitting at one of their outdoor dining tables and chairs, it is kind of awkward eating food from low-level outdoor couches and coffee tables. Skylar was our waitress and she was kind and attentive enough. She did take extra care of Heather since she had two young kids with her which I admire. As for food, it ranges from classic Mexican to true Mexican/Floridian fusion. I ordered their take on Chicken and Waffles which is Chicken and Churros, and the Meat Street Tacos. Heather got the Rice Bowl with House Meat (chicken). Her kids ate whatever they were served, but also got some french fries, too. Definitely need to go back with friends and attack those Mexican/Floridian fusion meals including the Taco Longboard and the Totchos (Tater Tot Nachos). A couple of side notes:, the restrooms were clean and stocked, which is good given the business of the Sunday church rush. And MASA does have official merchandise for sale. Their primary store items are t-shirts and cups, but I was able to get a free sticker for my sticker book. For my initial visit, I am giving MASA four out of five stars. Fantastic atmosphere that is a mix of traditional and modern, fantastic food in which their Florida fusion makes them stand out from the many other Mexican restaurants here in the Space Coast (or Florida for that matter as there can be way too many of them), and fantastic service overall. I also got to talk to the manager and he gave me some suggestions for my next visit. When I return, let's say a couple more times, and MASA on average is as good as this initial visit (or even better), I'll update their review to a perfect five-star score, granting them their fifth star for consistency.

If you are a bulb/lighting consesuir, you will appreciate some of the incandescent bulbs and pipe structure. The food portions are rather large. two can eat from one plate. We ordered chicken fajitas and an extra side of tortillas. Stuffed to our faces. I had also ordered a steak rice bowl, without knowing the portion, got it to go :) The "uno, dos, tres" appetizer was perfect as well. Almost to say it's like a sampler of the guac, queso (paprika is added. This was different for me but it heightens the queso flavor) and salsa. If you enjoy dessert, the brownie is a must have. Served with vanilla ice cream, whip cream and chocolate/caramel like syrup. *mouth watering* Our waitress was very kind and helpful. If back in the area, we will definitely swing by again.

Everything was pretty cost efficient looking at the menu prices. Most food trucks I've seen are overpriced and have smaller portions. I didn't try everything they were cooking, but the chicken tacos were on point. Some of the best chicken I've ever tasted really. It instantly stood out when I took a bite. Idk how they got so much flavor in it. Must be triple marinated or something. There were steak and shrimp options I seen also. Diff bowls, tacos, and burrito options on the menu. A couple side items to choose from as well. The food was ready quite quickly. Everything was nice and fresh. They also had this homemade mango salsa that was ridiculously good.
