My family has been eating at this location for the last 45 years beginning when it was Fat Boy's Bar-B-Q. It was always one of the main places to grab lunch or dinner on our Sunday drive to visit relatives after church. I was very sad when Fat Boy's closed, but the current proprietors of Café 66 have really done an amazing job of keeping the Fat Boy's charm while ramping the food up to a new level. I keep an eye on their Facebook page because a lot of my favorites are not on the main menu, but posted on their social media, such as Facebook. Their Fried Ribs are out of this world delicious. They smoke them, then deep fried (no breading of course), then tossed in an amazing Thai Chili sauce that is tangy and sweet, but not hot. Heavenly! They come in as an appetizer or basket with fries. In short, great food and excellent service. I ordered ribs with mac and cheese, baked beans and collard greens. The ribs were tender and well seasoned. The bbq sauce was a perfect blend with a little sweetness. All sides were delicious, especially the collard greens. They reminded me of my grandmother's and that says a lot. We come in after a soccer game they tell us we can't serve lunch for another half hour. They told us we have to sit and wait and can only order drinks and give us attitude. Don't streamline you tickets to crush the line! close down in the middle of a transition instead of treating the actual locals like crap . Expected to sit down and be able to still order breakfast. They treated us like a bug on the wall like an infected disease because they were in the middle of a transition and refused to serve us. We were regulars, and will not be back ... If you don't want to serve people then close. I understand yankee season makes it hard but the real Locals shouldn't feel punished because they can't get their crap together. Their Friday catfish special is awesome. It is served with crispy fries, hush puppies, slaw and plenty of fish. The catfish didn't have that musty flavor that some places serve...like Cracker Barrel. The breading was nice and crispy crunchy. The coleslaw was just a touch sweet and had scallions in it adding a nice flavor contrast. Check in on Yelp and you get a ten percent discount which is also extended to veterans, military, and police. Service was excellent. I would definitely visit again for the catfish. read more

Stopped in here with my Dad; read the Yelp review, and had it on my TDL. My dad got some scrambled eggs, I got their fanciest sandwich, and a pair of coffees. $18.17 (of which my sandwich was $11). The sandwich (a grilled meat, slaw and cheese monster) was good (kind of like food-porn) but dripping grease. So much so that it soaked through the paper wrap and bag and on to my freshly washed pants as I started to eat it. The homebrew cable-spool tables and chairs used for seating are innovative (no doubt leftovers from hurricane repairs) but uncomfortably high. It is hard to find; the signage along the road (none on building visible) Should just say 'CAFE 66'... simple and easy. I'll probably return, but just for take-away sandwiches, and only if I have a tarp to carry them on. read more

Great first visit to Cafe 66! Our waitress was great and made our visit more enjoyable. They have a great menu with inviting appetizers, sandwiches, platters, bbq and burgers. It was hard to choose. The side salad was very good - super fresh with all the toppings including shredded cheese and a hard boiled egg. Served with tasty homemade dressing. The pulled pork burrito was packed with Mac & cheese and served with fries. The pulled pork platter was plentiful and served with super cheesy, extra creamy Mac & cheese and cool & crisp Cole slaw. We decided to try Cafe 66's new location for my mom's birthday breakfast. I'm so glad we did! All four of our meals were absolutely delicious. We each got something different, tried the others' dishes and were pleased with all of them. We had the always lovely Holly as a server and was just great.
