I was honest with her, told her I just had breakfast at home and just wanted to look at the menu. She still ushered me into the restaurant, sat me at the bar and got me a menu to study. A few minutes later she served me a cold glass of water and spent a few minutes with me that I really appreciated. If I was still in business I would have offered Desiree a job on the spot. She was very efficient in her work and a genuine smile never left her face. In life you sometimes meet people that are good for the soul and that sums up my experience with Desiree. Served with 2 slices of toast, the white wine sauce was more watery than other places but still decent. This was a refreshing light start to the meal and we both really enjoyed it. For the slow roasted beef striploin, it was served with asparagus and bell peppers, mash potatoes, Yorkshire pudding, and a red wine demi. The beef striploin was lean but not tough and was super trendy and juicy. Yorkshire pudding, which I'm usually not a fan of, was really warm and soft. Overall, a really solid dish that was generous in portion. Dessert was also solid for both the cinnamon cheesecake and black forest cake. We barely finished the dessert and both of us had leftovers of our entree to take home as we couldn't finish our food.
