    Great location.

Had drinks outside on the patio with friends here last week while in Paris. We wandered around the Louvre at night taking photos and enjoying the city and easily found this lively spot and sat outside. Our waiter was friendly, the people out on the patio were friendly, and the drinks (coffee and teas) were flowing. They also still had food available and dessert. Very nice location and patio right off the street. Prices are on par with other spots around this touristy part of town.

    Not a Nutella crepe...

Horrible place. We asked for Nutella crepes with strawberries, they gave us strawberry jam on a crepe. Highly recommend you go somewhere else. The waiter was rude, didn't provide service at all. Then got mad that I spoke up about the wrong order. I WOULD HIGHLY AVOID THIS PLACE.

After an exhausting day exploring the Musée du Louvre we walked a short distance over for some dinner at this nearby sidewalk cafe. The space is quite small with two stories. We were seated in the tiny upstairs area (take note that the narrow staircase can be a bit terrifying) and provided with English menus and a basket of traditional French baguette. The food was satisfying but nothing extraordinary. We ordered a roast beef sandwich that came with a side of potato wedges and a bit of salad and the Tagliatelle Carbonara to share among the three of us. The meat in the sandwich was extremely tough and difficult to chew. As a weary and hungry traveler, I did not want to expend any additional energy ingesting my food. Needless to say, I was displeased by how this order turned out. The pasta, however, was excellent - creamy and comforting on a cold night in Paris. Mixing in the egg yolk definitely added an incredible richness to the overall flavor. For dessert we had a chocolate banana crepe and the creme brulee. Both were very tasty. I especially enjoyed the creme brulee. Overall, my experience here was just okay. There is no such thing as bad French food but I have to say, this place is one of the more mediocre of what Paris has to offer.

Chocolate crepes with vanilla ice cream and croque monsieur - VN

Being that it was our second time in Paris, we decided to ditch the first timers at the Louvre and grab some French cuisine. ATMOSPHERE: Busy little cafe near the Louvre. Great for people watching along Rue St Honore. FOOD: Chocolate crepes with vanilla ice cream - Awesome. Crepes were cooked perfect. Vanilla ice cream was out of this world - never tasted vanilla like that. Super rich & flavorful. Croque Monsieur - I've never heard of this before. This isn't your everyday ham & cheese sandwich! It's not because we were in Paris. It's just unbelievably delish - from the cheese, to the toasted bread to the flavor of the ham. Ok, maybe the location has a little something to do with it. :) SERVICE: We walked in without a reservation and got seated immediately at a sidewalk table. Our server was friendly and professional. OVERALL: Nice ambience, great food & service. One of the joys of Paris!

The services sad totally awesome here. It's just a cute Cafe in a rather busy area. We didn't have a huge breakfast so stopping here for lunch was a great idea. I went with the dick confit and my partner went with the roast beef with hash browns (fries). We had room for dessert so of course we had crepes. Budget wise it doesn't break the bank at all.

The food was really good, I mean surprisingly good considering the other pitfalls of the restaurant. It was reasonable prices for being so close to the louvre, however it was so unbelievably tiny that I felt like I was eating with everyone else. The waiter could hardly move and had to keep reaching over everyone and he smelled horribly like b.o. This is not a smell I enjoy while eating. The bathroom was upstairs and tiny and dirty. I ordered the beef bourguignon. The meat was tender the potatoes could have been cooked longer. I didn't realize it was a popular French dish but they did a good job at it.

This is a cute place conveniently located near our hotel and the Louvre. However it's very small- the table sat so close to the neighboring table that our elbows could neatly touch. I ordered the comedie burger which comes with salad and fries - was ok at best. Also got the cheese pizza ( I know pizza in Paris ... lol) tasted like it was microwaved and arrived on board instead of a plate. Service was good and food moderately priced.

Cute little place, with great decor and atmosphere. More seating in the outdoor patio.

Cute cafe located just across from the Louvre. Though tiny, it was adorably decorated for Christmas. The service was superb, the food was delicious, and the price is affordable (ish). Nikolas was our server and he was funny and entertaining (hence the name, right?). I had the Croquet Madame which was like grilled cheese and ham sandwich with a fried egg topping. It came with a side of green salad - all very good. The Mister had the Roast Beef Sandwich with French fries and side of green salad which was also equally delicious. We had the banana crepe with coffee and chocolate drizzle with lots of whipped crime. The crepe was velvety and perfect. We finished with coffee (for him) and hot cocoa (for me). Great choice, they were both just lovely and great way to cap off our lunch (a mighty big lunch that filled us through the rest of the day). Overall a great place with great good - highly recommend. I deducted 1 star for a couple reasons. It was definitely tiny and packed - making dining a bit uncomfortable when everyone shows up in bulky coats. The restrooms are upstairs and can only be accessed through a narrow spiral staircase. Would not be comfortable for the larger Americans, but cute for the petite a. Lovely! Will definitely come back and highly recommend!!!

Stopped for a quick snack. Perfect choice--pleasant service, good food, great location near the Louvre. Don't know how dinner is, but for an afternoon bite, we were happy.

    Interior charm at the Cafe.

Two stars......almost a 3 because the people were nice, and the restaurant was charming Parisian atmosphere. Food? Don't bother!!! This place is fine for drinks on the patio, across from La Place Colette, but I highly recommend eating elsewhere. The food was TERRIBLE!- I had the Salade Nicoise - ugh. Canned tuna, chunks of lettuce drenched in dressing. My companions had repulsive pasta- with olive oil and balsamic vinegar pooled at the bottom- sort of a mix it yourself deal. I could have made this whole meal myself, 10 times better. No care at all to the food. Location is awesome, but 2nd worst meal in Paris- at least they were nice! Eat inside the Louvre, it's better!

The richness of the flavor and the texture which is not reminiscent of the traditional roasted duck or foie gras, but rather a much more like a luxurious and indulgent version. We enjoyed our dinner on the outside of the restaurant after about a 20-30 minute wait. The bone marrow had the best flavor I've experienced for the dish. However, it is definitely overshadowed by the rich flavor of the foie gras. This experience was unforgettable, with our view of Parisian streets on a brisk, April night. We even came back on our last night, but didn't realize the hours on Google maps was for the deli. The restaurant closes earlier, before 9:00 PM. This meal got us thinking about Paris in a positive light, and we hope to be able to come back to eat the amazing dishes again!

They had a number of goods to choose from and I ended up buying a few things for souvenirs. As for the actual restaurant, they had a number of delicious sounding items on their menu. Our server was very attentive to us and helped us decide on our dinner orders. Similar to the other restaurants though. After our food was delivered, it was far in between when we were checked on again. And after dessert it took even longer for our server to bring the bill. Overall, the food was a letdown. I do not exaggerate when I say that the frog legs just tasted like slightly flavored water. My friend's ravioli had a fairly decent flavored sauce but the pasta was a bit chewy. My friend's duck breast was pretty tough; I had noticed the table next to us also ordered it and they seemed to have trouble finishing/cutting theirs as well. As for my steak with foie gras, well the steak was once again tough and the foie gras was weirdly stringy. It was soft for the most part but there were parts that were tough and stringy. Maybe that's a section that's generally separated in the preparation process and it was missed? In any case it was disappointing. What wasn't disappointing was dessert though; perfectly sweet and balanced.

On the other hand, it made me realize that my mother was a terrible cook. Bistro des Augustins is a small, cozy venue offering both indoor seating and terrace seating near Pont Neuf. It serves a small number of curated dishes, including a wonderfully traditional Bistro Gratin in a homey ceramic dish served piping hot with a brown crispy cheesy top, herbs, spices and chicken. You can also get it with salmon. My brothers and I only saw my mother use our gas range to light her cigarettes, sanitize needles to remove our splinters, and make s'mores during the summer months when she couldn't muster the energy to take us 'outside camping.' I mean, all she had to do was borrow a cookbook, which I'm sure were readily available from maybe a neighbor or in any local bookstore or the public library. How hard is that? I was the only kid who brought a can of tuna and his own monogrammed can opener to school every day. Every day. And mom convinced me that the tuna holster she got me for my birthday was cool and hip. I was a naive mercury-filled fool, although I did become a very fast runner in junior high school because of the tuna holster. The interior décor of Bistro des Augustins is informal and vintage bistro style - wooden tables, traditional chalkboard menus, and soft lighting - creating a relaxed and comfy ambiance. My eyes have been opened to what's possible. Thank you Bistro des Augustins for expanding my culinary horizons. Five stars.

I ordered the Magret de Canard au Romarin. The duck was solid. A 3.5/5 kind of dish. Rich, savory, comforting after a long day walking through the city. But the risotto surprised me more. The scallops were delicate, the spelt added this earthy texture that made the dish feel substantial without ever becoming heavy. And then there's the mousse au chocolat. The famous one. Served from an oversized bowl with this almost excessive "all you can eat" energy that somehow still feels elegant instead of gimmicky. We only needed a few bites. Soft, luxurious, lightly bitter chocolate balanced perfectly against just enough sweetness. The kind of dessert that doesn't ask for attention. It quietly earns it.
