It was tender and the side of potatoes weren't the top of my list for the evening but there was more than enough of them to share with others. Insistons bien sur le "nature" : ce sont trois pauvres oeufs au plat servis sans la moindre garniture. Compter 4€50 pour une assiette de frites surgelées servies tièdes, et encore 4€50 pour quelques feuilles de salade fanées. Une garniture à 9€ donc, je n'avais encore jamais vu ça ! La carte est par ailleurs volontairement trompeuse : le "supplément frites" est annoncé à 1€50, je n'ai toujours pas compris pourquoi on me l'avait facturé 4€50... Le service est déplorable. Le serveur est mal aimable, méprisant (et méprisable), et expéditif. De plus, il n'hésite pas à insulter les clients : en recevant l'addition, lorsque j'ai demandé des explications concernant la facturation de mes frites, il m'a répondu "C'est ce que je vous avais expliqué, c'est pas mon problème si vous n'avez pas compris, c'est pas moi qui m'occupe des prix, si vous êtes pas contente fallait pas venir". The food is bad. I the "quiche du jour" which was all dry (obviously not "du jour") and oily. My friend had the plain fried eggs. They cost €10, and plain they were indeed: three poor eggs with no garniture whatsoever. Count an extra €4.50 for frozen fries served lukewarm, and another €4.50 for wilted salad. The menu is voluntarily misleading too: a side of fries is priced at €1.50, we still don't understand why they charged us €4.50... The service is terrible, there is simply no other word. Our waiter was rude and contemptuous (and contemptible). He did not hesitate to insult us when we asked why we were charged €4.50 for the fries, yelling "That's what I told you, not my problem if you did not understand, if you're not happy don't come back again". To sum up, terrible experience at Le Ponthieu today. You get ripped off AND insulted on top of it. Stay away from this awful establishment. There are many much much nicer restaurants in the area!! read more

I forgot about the names of the dishes but one was a meat mixture with outer breading and the other was a stew with mushrooms and eggs. The mushrooms and eggs tasted okay, nothing remarkable and we ate it with the bread which made it good. As for our main dishes, I got a white pasta while my husband got the salmon dish. The pasta was okay, a little on the drier side and per usual, a bit flavorless. My husband's salmon was also quite flavorless so he was picking off my pasta for a good amount of the dinner. We definitely have different tastebuds as Americans so I just attributed it to that. Overall, my husband and I's favorite were the desserts which were crème brûlée and chocolate pudding. Both were excellent and as I write this, I wish I can have some of the crème brûlée right now! Service was alright, a little on the slower side, but at least water was complementary!
