Not sure if it's because Bass Pro shops bought them or poor management. Worse customer service EVER! Not sure why they have employed Caitlin. Returned boots with receipt for different size and they didn't have them in stock. So, they sent them in and said exchange would need to be made at the store or cost to ship to home. No problem, but then I get an email that a gift card is being sent to the store for pick up (guess they had it wrong in inventory). Drive back down to Utah county and they say they cannot find the gift card even with the QR code and order number provided in email . Customer service then says it's not our fault you need to take it up with corporate because our gift cards are ours not theirs, what? We bought the boots here. By the way, husband is a black card member which means we spend way too much here already. This store has gone down hill the past two years. We will be cancelling that card. By the way, I've never left a poor review somewhere, but that's how bad of an experience this has been. read more

You could spend hours here having a good time and not even spend anything! My fiancé and I came here to make a wishlist for wedding and we ended up having a spontaneous date. While we still spent money you could easily have a good time looking at the fish and animals. Or just checking out the guns and trying on camo. As for the actual shopping, I can't think of anywhere else with a selection as big as theirs. It's literally the one stop shop for camping gear. This is where my Dad and I shopped at before every scout camp and hiking trip. We love it! read more

My review is focused on the gun counter, and not the store at large. I really don't even know where to start. I may have just had terrible luck with these guys, but they are the last people I'd go to if I was looking to purchase a firearm. Their gun counter employees are the typical "gun guys" who don't really have much interest in helping people. If I worked at a gun counter, I would want to help other people develop a passion for self defense, hunting, or sport shooting depending on what they're in the market for. These guys just want to look cool for one another and show you how much they know about guns while making you feel stupid for asking questions. I've looked at their selection when I was in the market for everything from a Mosin Nagant to a Ruger 9mm and they are ALWAYS substantially more expensive than anyone else, and they claim to price match but they have ludicrous requirements in order to follow through with that. They will make snarky comments to your face if you don't already have their procedures memorized, and they will look at each other and laugh when you ask them questions. I guess it makes them feel really big and popular like they're back in high school. Bottom line, go somewhere else where the people actually have a passion for firearms and enjoy introducing customers to the world of guns and gun ownership. Their customer service for a generator is horrible. I bought a generator from them, and 5 days later it quit working. Took it back, and was told that it has gas and oil in it, they won't do anything for me. Call the dealer directly. Now I have a $600 generator that won't work, trying to go camping again, and no generator cause I have to go through the manufacture. I'm just going to put it out there. The 4 star rating is because I love my husband. For those of us who didn't grow up here (or in an area where people still hunt), Cabela's is a big question mark. Want to either entertain your children or scare them for life? Bring them here. Dead, stuffed animals abound. My husband thinks they're beautiful and intriguing. I find it creepy. But what can I say, I'm from San Francisco. I literally didn't realize people still hunted. (Ignorant and stupid, I know. It just literally never crossed my mind) The employees are always friendly. They love to grunt and talk about how many points their animals are worth. No wonder Cabela's has been ranked #1 multiple times for the top tourist destination in Utah. It is a mysterious, foreign land. But for those to who it is familiar - it is the mecca of hunting gear - and Disneyland for my husband. read more

Yes, they have it all. If your looking for an item for just about anything outdoors you'll probably find it here. As important you can find a knowledgeable salesperson to educate you on features of most products. Maybe not the least expensive outdoors store but easy returns and huge selection make this my first stop for outdoors gear. Maybe you're more of a indoors type person? There are hundreds of wildlife mounts and several fish tanks to check out some pretty cool wildlife. You can even feed the live trout near the center of the store. There is a cafe on the upper level that I tried years ago and it was not 5 star maybe 2.5. I remember many fried items, sandwiches and a few wild game burgers. Kids love the shooting arcade on the upper level as well. Fun place to hang out as long as you're not afraid or dislike taxidermy. read more

If I were giving Cabelas an overall review, it would easily be five stars...but I am not. I am writing this review for the Gun Library. I ordered a Remington rifle in .300 Win. Mag. through Cabelas, and spoke with Ed in the Gun Library. Ed is a great guy and was very helpful. I ordered the rifle back in August. I was going to trade in a different Remington to go towards my new one. I brought it in to be appraised and the guy that does the appraising offered me $125. Now, I know that they need to make something on used guns, but that was a ridiculous amount. I turned around and sold it on utahgunexchange.com for $375 within two weeks. I was starting to get impatient at the end of November and saw a similar rifle at Sportsman's Warehouse, but it was .300 RUM. I decided to pick it up since it may be my only chance. I got a call three weeks later from Cabelas, stating that my rifle had finally come in. I thought I'd stop in and see if they could trade rifles with me, if I paid the transfer and some other nominal fees. I brought my unused rifle that sat in my safe for three weeks into the Gun Library and the guy that does appraisals offered me $400 for a rifle that I (just) paid $725 for. Well, to get to the point, I would highly suggest to sell your firearms elsewhere... If you want to get a decent price for it. read more

Oh My God! This is a redneck store! No offenses, that was my first thought when I got to the store haha.... However, it is a great store for guns and ammo. We came here first time to buy our first gun. It was a Saturday morning and there were a lot a lot of people checking out the pistols section. They do have 2 section of handguns: used and new. All of their salesman were very experienced and knowledgeable. The background check on the busy Saturday morning nearly took 3 hours. Painful. Lol the price of guns in cabela are in the fair marketing price range. For example, a Sig Sauer p238 at Cabela is about $600. An online store called, Woodbury's same Sig would be around $500 but there will be $25 fee for your FFL dealer. Overall, Cabela do have more variety of handguns and great service. One rare pistols I saw at Cabela, Walther PPK. Ammunition do run out fast because the gun control fear craziness. One of my friend told me it has been like this ever since Obama has been in the office. Ahaha...whatever she believes. Yes, 9mm is always the 1st to disappeared. One great way to keep up with their ammo restock is follow the utah gun exchange forum. The price of the ammos is fair but not greatest deal in town. I live in a basement and the color of my skin can be compared to hyper what paper envelopes. But here I am, walking around Cabela's, and if I never knew the definition of vertical integration before, this place absolutely spelled it out for me. Anything that has anything to do with the outdoors, or CAN have anything to do with the outdoors, or makes you think of the outdoors, or existed at some point in the outdoors, can be found here. Camping supplies, hunting, guns, targets, clothes, camo, boots, cabin furniture with elk all over it, books on camping and survival, taxidermy, dehydrators, trail mix, ammunition, sleeping bags, tents, outdoor chairs, bug spray, I mean.. they have a freaking restaurant inside this place that sells exoctic meats of animals that people hunted with the ammunition on guns that they purchased at Cabela's. This place blows me mind...as well as the minds of many animals each year...if you know what I mean... read more

Admittedly, it's been a couple years since I was last in this store. But oh what a wonderful place it is! Every imaginable outdoorsman supply is here. For fishermen, there are rods, reels, baits, terminal tackle, and zillions of lures of all type. They stock gear for your boat from rod holders to seats to radios to fishfinders and everything in between. And as if having gear alone wasn't enough, a good sized aquarium with dozens or more of fish of all sizes provides some live action distraction. For hunters there's an entire gun cave (for the high-end shooter) and rows upon rows of shotguns & rifles. No matter what caliber you shoot, they'll have a wide selection of ammo for you. Cleaning kits/supplies, scopes, knives, sharpeners, binoculars, clothing, scents, lures, rangefinders, cameras and everything else you'll need handle whatever game you're chasing. The walls are adorned with various trophies & an entire room (or 2?) are decorated like a museum with full sized elk, deer, antelope, birds & other critters. For the camping crowd you'll find tents, sleeping bags, lanterns, stoves, propane, clothing, boots, cooking utensils, pots/pans, various suvival gear, ropes and food suitable for camping adventures. I've been to the Cabela's location a few times, but my most recent experience was enough to make me give out the rare 5 stars. One of the employees approached my brother-in-law and I to ask if we needed direction to find anything or help with a product. They had been running a Black Friday deal on some Remington ammo, that was completely cleared off the shelves. The employee told us he would check behind the counter to see if there was any left...and low and behold there was! This man went out of his way to find us this product and we were thrilled! read more

I typically shop this store only when one of the men in my family "needs" something. Tonight it was a a quick trip to get in on a really good deal" on bullets. Also found a die set on sale; 20% off! I personally find the clothing items are over priced and feel the same about the bargain/discount department which is why I'm giving a 4 star rating instead of a 5 star rating. Some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I am a loyal Bass Pro Shops/Cabelas supporter - more than just a shopper. Neva in (ironically) Customer Service was 100% rude and cut me off mid sentence on more than one occasion. She was very short with me as she was confused about my transaction. She was complaining about a coworker to another coworker.l speaking loudly about a cashier "who is screwing up". She informed me she was havin a bad day. I own my on company and there are times I am stressed out but I never let my customers see that. Neva is and was not nice. Sadly I will not shop at Cabelas Lehi Utah again. As already mentioned Cabela's is a behemoth of an outdoor store. I went in to pick up an item purchased online, which was shipped free to the store. I was the sixth person in the line and it took me a little over twelve mintues to get to the front. Fortunately, the service department pulled in an extra worker to make it three, instead of two representatives. From this experience and another time or two at the counter there are three main reasons to be there: 1) In-store pickup. 2) Return an Item 3) Price match & money back. None of these processes is too quick, so the line moves very slowly. The good news is when you are in front, you get the undivided attention of the service rep. I found this true elsewhere in the store. If a representative is helping someone, you have little idea how long before you get assistance. If you are being helped you are really being helped and there is no pressure to buy. Cabela's has a bit of everything you can think of regarding the outdoors, but many of the prices are just to high to make it my regular pit stop for outdoor gear. Not outrageous, just not competitively low. If you want to spend the extra time you can price match items from other stores and be satisfied, but the difference may not be worth the time to go back. When I do want something peculiar or niche I will be headed back there, especially for any .22 ammo. read more

I bought a shotgun online from Cabelas on a sale last week. They took my payment, processed the order, etc. then I didn't receive any more information via email after they sent the invoice. Went online to check order shipment status and it says "cancelled". No notice, no alert, nothing. I emailed them 2 days ago and no response on the issue. Today I called them and they said they ran out of stock before I ordered which is a lie. Their site showed stock for 2 days after I placed the order as I was considering buying another one. They won't honor the price and won't discount any of the other similar products they do have in stock. Because of this, I missed out on the many sales going at their competitors and now all of them are full price everywhere. Cabelas has lost a life long customer, I've spent a fortune at their stores but never again. Go to Sportsmans Warehouse, Scheels, Cal Ranch instead. read more

Wife and I have stopped by multiple times during the last year. Usually we just want to get out of the house and do something during the colder months. Cabelas is definitely the place to go. We usually wander the aisles, looking at camping gear and clothing. I'll find time to wander through the fishing section, and she'll usually hit the cooking sections. I've found myself preferring them over online stores like Amazon when purchasing clothing or shoes. So far, im on my second set.. First was a pair of sandals for summer last year, and just the other day, we walked out with a new pair of hiking boots for me, and a new Camelback water bottle for both of us. Sure, its a bit more expensive than the locals, but where else can you walk in and see literally anything you would need. I'll usually wait till stuff goes on sale before I buy. Those hiking boots I scored $20 off, and would rather try them on before ordering off Amazon. If their prices were a bit more competitive I would definitely give them a 5 star. Otherwise, the only thing that bugs the heck out of me is pop guns up on the stairs to the second floor. I think I've developed a nervous tic every time I hear one go off, but I do know that kids love them. Small price to pay. We love the restaurant upstairs. If your in the area and hungry, try the Legend. Bison burger with brisket on top. I've had a wild boar brat as well. Elk burger was a bit on the gamey side, but good. We only wish they would keep the restaurant open a bit longer during the weekdays. I think they close at 4, but weekends will stay open till 7. read more

I've always love going into Cabela's since it opened here in Lehi. I could spend hours here looking at all the great outdoor items to purchase and it's great that I can get some good while I'm there. If I had to pick one store to spend the rest of my money in for the rest of my life, it would probably be Cabela's. I have only had one bad customer service experience at the store, which is the only thing that keeps me from giving them 5 stars. It was an isolated and grumpy associate in the flyfishing department, who I'll give the benefit of the doubt to and say that he was probably just in a bad mood, because he was missing a great day on the river. read more

There is no reason to give this Cabela's less than five stars. It has every attribute of this great franchise... a restaurant, dead animal mountain, gun library, aquarium, and enough gear to put you in a coma. This Cabela's is worth a trip if you're in Utah, a neighboring state, or if you're west of damn Mississippi. The staff is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable and the mounts and fun to look at. God, I love it here. If Lehi PD wouldn't haul me off in handcuffs I'd live in one of the tents upstairs and subsist out of their trout pond. What can I say, if you like guns, hunting, fishing, or camping you'll love this place. There is an animal museum inside the store as well as a mountain full of animals. From mink to polar bears they have a ton of animals to look at. They even have a huge aquarium that you can walk through. And if you love guns there is a huge selection at the gun counter. There are also racks of used guns. But wait, there's more. They have a room with old, rare and expensive guns that you can look at, and if you have the money, you can buy them. And as if that wasn't enough they have food and a shooting gallery for the kids. It is a fun place to go. The only complaint is that it could be a little cheaper. But they have sales every week so even the prices aren't too bad. read more

A man brought a huge Rottweiler dog into the store. The dog was very worked up and it wouldn't follow the man's commands. It kept barking over and over again throughout the store. I talked to a woman at the register and said that the dog was out of control and so it could be removed even though it was wearing a "Service Animal in Training" vest. This vest was probably fake anyway. The lady at the cash register said dogs are allowed in Cabela's. So I told her that I would leave, which I did. Cabela's should not allow non-service animals in the store. They pose a health and safety risk to the public and to trained service animals. In addition, customers may experience anxieties around animals. They may have fur allergies, and they don't want to medicate themselves just because animal owners are inconsiderate. They definitely don't want to come across animal waste in public places. Cabela's should support those with disabilities and help keep the store clean and safe for everyone by prohibiting non-service animals. read more

Wow this place has undergone some changes and it's not for the better. This used to be my go to store for ALL of my outdoor needs (hunting, fishing, camping and everything in between) since they were purchased by Bass Pro they seem to have a completely different interest in mind. I just went into the store (middle of Sept) hoping to check out all the new hunting gear for the duck hunt and deer and elk hunt coming up. When I've walked into the store in previous years around this time the store would be overflowing with camo and all the hunting and fishing gear you could imagine. Today was a totally different story. I walked in and couldn't see anything camo anywhere. Instead there were racks of north face clothes and Colombia jackets that lined the front of the store. I had to go to the back of the store into a hidden cove to find any camo gear. You would think that with the hunts opening this weekend they would have all the gear at the front of the store. I was appalled. I asked some of the workers and they seemed to all just shrug and say "It was Bass Pro's decision" Well if you're in the mood to see hunting gear and camo this is not the place to go anymore. They still have a great selection of fishing gear as well as guns for now but we'll see how long that lasts. If they're not careful eventually Cabelas will look like a Nordstrom's showroom floor. Good bye Cabelas. It's been a fun ride. Spending hours wandering your store looking at all the fun gear is a thing of the past. Hello Scheels and Sportsman's Warehouse. Cabelllas has a large selection of guns ammo, and anything hunting outdoors merchandise. The lehi location has a nice library of antique rifles and pistols for sale. Also they have a cool display of real life deer and other animals, taxidermy, of course. Fun place to walk around and occasionally buy that special weapon you have been saving up for. read more

The great thing about Cabela's is that is you are looking for that hard to find item they have it. If you want say, a thermometer for a turkey fryer they are going to have it all year round. add to that a friendly and knowledgeable sales staff and top shelf customer service and you have a winning combination. read more

If I could give them no stars I would this is my second attempt to go to Cabelas and have a positive experience. 1st experiences standing at the gun counter for 30 min with every employee walking pass me or helping other shopper. 2nd experience this happen last week, I was looking at fishing reels with my wife for about 10 min while a employee stood there staring at me not asking if I needed help but he did ask other none Hispanic shoppers if they needed anything, the weird thing is when my wife was alone she had an employee ask if she needed help my wife is "white". Now the only reason I sent to cabelas was because I was given a gift card otherwise I only shop at scheels which is 100 times better. Cabela's is a rather unique sporting store. It's got tons of really cool decorations and as another review said it feels sort of like a museum. I don't come here often because it's really out of my way but I do have a good time when I do come out this way. My dad is very into Hunting and Fishing making this an ideal place to shop for him. On the Other hand the Fudge here is awesome and that's one of the primary reasons we come here. So between the Hunting, Fishing, Fudge and decor I really love this place. It just is unfortunately out of my way so I don't come here often. read more

Just visited this store. Found a scarf that was on a large display for $14.99. When they rang it up, it was $29.99 so I mentioned to them that the display says it's $14.99. "Manager" "Shirley Garner" (TXELI) walked with me to see the display. She already didn't seem like the nicest human... She immediately said without hesitation oh wow, no we would never put these here...and accused me of taking about 12 scarfs and organizing the entire display of 5 different scarfs on the individual hooks corresponding to each scarf!!!! I said, wait, you're accusing me of creating your entire scarf wall? She said yes, we'd never place this brand here. That brand only goes on the other side of this display. I was in absolute shock. So not only do they falsely advertise, but then they accuse their customers of rearranging their store displays? That is insane! She ripped the whole display off the wall and all the other scarf displays and stormed off to the back of the store. When I asked for her name, she shouted "Shirley Garner" at me and walked off... Wow. It's too bad my husband and our family buy all of their guns and ammo here because we will NEVER, EVER return. All over a $30 scarf...unbelievable. The funny part is, I was fine with paying $30, but I'm not fine with being accused of arranging their entire store display. They will be receiving a long letter from me. read more

This is one of the few places I give 3 stars to... which means I could take it or leave it. It is great place to get a few items, such as guns, ammo, fishing gear, knives, and optics. But not a place I would go to for camping gear or high-end electronics for hiking/camping. It really is not a bad store, I just get upset at a commercial institution using their animal displays to qualify as a non-profit "museum" to get tax breaks. I went in to get purchase a scope on black friday. Madhouse, but i expected that. They said it was too busy to mount it on my gun since they offer that service. So i came in a week later. However there were a few things that made this easy 20 minute process take nearly 2 hours. (Rant begins) First i started in the store, an associate checked in my gun, but it took 15 minutes for someone to become available to bring it to the back. Also the guy in the front said that they would take care of putting the scope on. ( i thought that's great at this point! However It is downhill from here.) let me start with it wasn't even busy, it was a slow monday afternoon, plenty of workers to do the job. 1. Then guy brought my rifle/scope to the back didn't put it in the right place, so i waited in the store for 50 minutes(35 in line to ask someone to look for it, 15 for someone to find it.) 2 of the workers just were chatting and telling stories to customers ahead of me not doing an ounce of their job. The line time could have been cut in half had they been trying to actually assist people and not gab gab gab. 2. Then another 20 to have the guy set the dang thing up thank goodness (he was the only attentive worker of all the people i worked with that night) but ended up the 2 workers who helped me pick out the right rings for my rifle picked the wrong rings! 15 more minutes and a trip to the customer service desk so i can get the right dang rings. 3. And because the rings were wrong he had to restart the sighting! Another 15 minutes! After nearly 2 hours i got my gun back with the scope mounted and bore sighted. And at the end of it all none of the employees even said sorry, they just were like "it is what it is" and accepted no blame. This location has a lot of work to do to make their service better. I love this place! The employees know what they are talking about and if they don't, they will look it up for you. The gun counter service was the highlight of my experience.They have bricks of 500 and loads of 50 round boxes of 22 ammo at least 3 times a week!!! They specialize in outdoor gear better than Scheels because they seem to try to tackle a bigger audience and ultimately they just become the Jack of all trades. I love Cabelas, great selection of guns and gear. Top tier always on their prices but they usually have what your looking for. I now have been waiting for almost 2 hours to actually purchase my new gun, the 2 employees that are facilitating gun purchases are taking their sweet ass time with no regard to anyone else that might actually have something else on earth to do. The are chatting with the customers instead of doing the ten minutes of paperwork that they are dragging out for hours. Make sure you give yourself half the day to actually buy something, the employees are more like tour guides instead of trying to sell things and make money. There is very few resons for me to shop here its bulk fishing gear and lures "it's cheeper that way!" Or items that are not every where elts like personal pontoons, fish finders, etc. I don't come here for much more I get my clay and shells elts where. But it is a great way to kill an afternoon! And thay are awesome with price checking got my pontoon for 500 and it was origanal over 700 so happy about that read more

Anytime my husband has a reason to shop at Cabela's, he takes it. This store is full of camping, fishing, and sporting supplies as well as a large assortment of clothing. We were in need of buying some 'out of state' fishing licenses, so we stopped in. Of course we needed worms, and they also had a nice barbeque that we could use at the cabin. Throw in a few propane bottles and a new hat and our basket was full. This store has lots of animal displays that the kids always enjoy. They also have a couple of huge aquariums with large fish, native to the area. A 10 minute stop turned into an hour because there is so much to see. They had plenty of check out lines open, so there was no wait, which was nice. We had a great experience! read more

This is not just a place to shop, it's a destination attraction. The whole family can enjoy all the amenities. They have an aquarium and all kinds of wild animals mounted on a natural looking hillside. You'll find all your hunting and sporting equipment you'd ever want and then some. If your into guns, you can stroll through the gun museum. Some of the oldies are even for sale. You could spend a good part of your day there and enjoy a great meal in the restaurant upstairs.
