SPORTING AND OUTDOOR HEAVEN! This place has it all for everything you want, anything and everything you can think of. The place is amazing and has the things for kids also. This the ultimate MAN STORE!!!! The big gun library they have and all the guns that are available for purchase. Totally love this place.

I saw that they were doing free 4x6 photos with the Easter Bunny but you have to make an appointment online. I was able to make my appointment on Friday for the following Thursday at 4 pm. I love that Cabela's does the online appointments, I feel like it really cuts down on the rush of people. Once I got there I was a little disappointed with the lack of advertising for the event. There were literally no signs telling you where to go for the event. I started to the back of the store since previous years they have had Santa both behind the mountain on the bottom floor and the top floor. However, the Easter Bunny event was on the main floor in the North West showroom with the North America animals. The line quickly grew but the photographer was quick. Wish they would have given out a little Easter treat or activity like they do for the Santa pictures but still well worth it.

I am surprised by all the ok reviews. Maybe I am biased but I just love every Bass Pro Shop I have been to. This is my first Cabelas. Pretty much the same thing as BPS except it doesn't have all the fish tanks. I remember when I was a kid we used to get all the Cabela catalogs. Always had Cabela products at home. Never had any issues with their branded products. The store layout is easy to navigate. They offered some good deals as well. I will be back and visit any other Cabela's and Bass Pro Shops wherever I go.

Some people go to Cabela's to stock up on fishing supplies or buy a new firearm...not us. We go to Cabela's with our kids for their gigantic taxidermy displays, their fish tank with monstrous fish, and the pond where we can feed the trout for a quarter. (Okay, we also sometimes stock up on fishing/camping supplies too.) This place is like a weird Disneyland - with a food court upstairs, popcorn and fudge that they make, and so many amazing hunting displays of stuffed deer, bears, cougars, birds, etc. And you're thankful for the food because the adults are so happy that you end up staying here for hours (so your kids get all hangry). It's open at 9am until late, 9pm (except on Sundays, when it closes at 7pm), so you can keep your kids up while you walk slowly around with your jaw dropped, admiring the amount of clothing patterned in camouflage, and trying not to give in and buy their spiced nuts. If you bring your firearm with you, you'll have to check in at the little kiosk inside the door. Also check out the bargain cave at the back for lots of markdowns on everything. Little did they know (or maybe they do know and it's a part of their marketing plan!) that we would sometimes just come to Cabela's to buy nothing at all except a dollar's-worth of fish food for the kids to feed the trout. But then we always come here now whenever we need fishing supplies (they have a much better selection than the other outdoor suppliers) or outdoor items too. We love this place.

Fun place to take your toddler. So many animals displays and fish. During the week of Easter, the Easter bunny is there doing pictures. You get one free picture with the Easter bunny.

Lots and lots of dead animals. My toddler loves this place as a museum, though. He could stay in the aquarium section for hours. And he really loved the little pond where you can buy a handful of fish food for a quarter. I don't hunt or fish so I prefer Scheels because of the large clothing selection, but we were in the area and it was worth a looksy.

Gather around, it's storytime! Okay, so the first time I heard of Cabela's I had no idea what it was. I assumed it was a fancy European restaurant of some magnificient stature. So, one day--while driving in the car with a couple of really outdoorsy people--we drove past a sign promoting Cabela's on the freeway so I asked if any of them if they had been and they were all like: "Oh, yeah! It's way awesome! I loved it." And I respond: "Oh, really? Is it Italian food?" Needless to say, they all looked back at me and I had no idea why. "You don't know what Cabela is?" "Isn't it a restaurant?" "........................" Yeah, but now I know what it is. Not only does it sell epic proportions of outdoor equipment that will make you the modern day Paul Bunyan or Paulina Bunyan. It is a natural life museum, aquarium, restaurant, confectionary shop, and arcade all within this trump of all outdoor retailers. If you need anything that deals with the outdoors this place has it. No questions about it. I am not much of a hardcore, gun-ho, nature breathing person but this place has everything for you to get there. Everything and anything. The restaurant that was inside was closed at the time so I stumbled upon a confectionary shop that sold fresh fudge and other goodies. It is slightly expensive but very hyperly sweet and decadent. I had no idea going in that I would be walking out with fudge. I thought it was ironic being my first purchase at Cabela's. Anyways, this place is plainly amazing and I was beyond impressed. I had no idea that such a place could exist! If you have never been you are in for a unique experience!. If you are a devout animal lover then close your eyes at the beginning and run upstairs to the restaurant and other friendly goodies. Oh, Cabela's. You are definitely not the restaurant I expected.

Outdoorsy people paradise. Went there while in Utah to get some stuff for our trip back to San Jose like jerky snacks and other items. I was very impressed with the aquarium and the vast array of gadgets (mostly for guys who like cooking in campings and outdoors, i would say). Cool store with 2 levels and also kind of 'museum' of animals found in the area (that gives me a mixed feeling, as I thought the animals were fake and they are actually taxidermia). Clothes section seems to be over priced for the non-sexy and non-flattering styles I saw.

Cabela's is an outdoors persons HEAVEN!!! We went to take our kids to see Santa the other night. Our plan was to walk in, find the Jolly Guy in the Red Suit and get out. We found Santa and he was amazing. He was so nice to my kids. They even took pictures and gave us a copy for free, while also allowing us to take our own pictures. After Santa, we wandered the store. My oldest found a toy pump shotgun and "had to have it". Since his birthday was the next day, I allowed him to buy it. Then we wandered into a large animal exhibit and talked about the animals they had there. There is a large aquarium too! My kids absolutely loved the fish. After we left, my 6 yr old asked if we could go back every day!

They have an aquarium as well as a fish feeding area. Gives the kids something to do while the adults shop. A bit pricey.

There is a great selection and variety. I mostly go for the toys. There is a specific toy that I seek and this is the place to find them. While their toy department is not huge and is just a relatively smaller department within the store, what they do have is quality stuff, things that people actually seek out. Lego sets, RCs, educational children's toys, games, etc. I was pleasantly surprised to see a decent selection of disc golf discs. They even had some of one of my favorite brands, Kastaplast! Either Kastaplast is finally getting some mainstream recognition or Scheels has a good sporting goods manager. Speaking of which, Ashton is a great guy and truly thinks of the customer first and the customer's experience. There were even Zuca disc golf carts there. And they were all on sale. Another aspect to love about Scheels are the things you can do there like mini bowling, shooting arcade, and the Ferris wheel. You can have a date there for cheap! And then go to the cafe for a meal or treats. BTW, the jerky they sell there is excellent! All the employees there are very helpful. In some small ways, Scheels is better than Bass Pro, Cabela's, Sportsman's Warehouse. In this competitive market, small ways is what stands you apart. I really like those other stores, too, but Scheels just feels different. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Stay away at all costs!

It got to be very entertaining to see what they would do instead of not helping me. To get our shoes we had to fill out what we needed on an iPad that was by the shoes. That was the only way we could get someone's attention. Once we found out what shoes we wanted we had to wait again at the desk because we needed to get the right replacements for the bottom of the shoes. The only way we got someone to help us was to fill out the iPad again that we needed another pair of shoes, but we said no we just need your help once the guy showed up. When we went to check out, we were found out we were given the wrong shoes and so we went and got the sample one so they could get us the right pair. The girl was totally bugged, but they got a pair that was $100 more. I'm going to notice that??? The cashier was very unfriendly, and was also bugged! We stepped back so she could help other customers while we waited. We could've just stood there, made the customers wait while we waited for my correct shoes-- but thought we'd be nice... she didn't smile, say thank you, etc... My boys have played baseball, football, lacrosse, and now golf, and we've always liked Dicks to get their gear. We will not be returning. I'm still amazed as I think about all the employees that walked past us that never once asked how they could help us. One guy had an earpiece in so it looked like he was maybe more in charge than the others and he actually walked past three times with no words said or eye contact! Pretty sad!!! I understand they work in different parts of the store, but they could've called someone to come and help us very easily! We are going to get shoes elsewhere and return the shoes in the morning. Angel asked right away if he could help me. I told him what I was looking for,. He was very patient with me. Since the store is set up that the sales associate has to go in the back to pull the shoes/boots from inventory. I put a lot of miles on Angel today. I think I tried on every possible hiking boot that they had available. The answer was always nope this one isn't going to work for some reason or another, mostly due to comfort. I was about to walk out again defeated when he said "Why don't you try these Bearpaws they look similar to the boots you have on." I said "Sure, let's give it a whirl." He came back empty handed saying they didn't have my size in stock. He quickly added that he could see if another store, in the valley, had my size, and he could have the boots transferred to that store. He called around, the store in West Valley had my size. He said I could drive all the way across town, or I could come back when they transferred. I opted to come back. I didn't want to drive across town, in traffic, to try on a pair of boots that I wasn't sure would fit me or not. He said it would take around 10 days. Just to come across town...ummm ok. I wasn't in a rush so it was ok I would have to have to wait. Angel was so helpful in this seamless process. I was also able to find a new hiking pack similar to the one I've used for years. It was a disappointment that they didn't carry the same style, but that isn't Angels fault, and the pack was similar enough that I'm sure I will enjoy it just as much. Fast forward a few days later my boots were in to pick up. That's faster than the 10 days I was told. I told them I would be by on the weekend to pick them up, well actually to try them on to see if I liked them. The next day someone else called to tell me my boots were in, I told them I had already spoken to someone, and I would be by this weekend. So the weekend came, and again I went hiking in my old boots. I stopped by to check out these Bearpaw boots. What a difference a week makes when it comes to customer service. I had to ask for help. I asked if Angel was there, and they said he had the day off. I told them what I was there for, and the two sales associates at the counter looked at each other like "what is she talking about". Someone found the boots, and handed them to me...and I was left on my own. After trying them on, I decided to buy them, and try them out. They were similar to the ones I already own, and hoped for the best. The cashier surely wasn't friendly when she rang up my purchase, which is the case with most Big 5's. Big 5's are a lower end discounted sporting goods store with a self serve vibe. When you shop here you know what you're getting or you should.
