Best gun range I've shot at in a long time. Small selection of rental arms (mostly 9mm handguns and ARs) but all the guns are super well maintained and cleaned, which is rare for rental ranges. Best thing is the service. I took two friends, one of whom had never shot before, and the staff were uber patient walking them through safety, helping with their aim, etc. A great place and a great value! read more

My wife and I picked up her new Bul Armory (Israeli-made) "Cherokee" 9mm subcompact pistol at The Armory on Saturday night and - as always - got great service from the staff there...and specifically Dalton who efficiently processed our FFL transfer fee from www.gunprime.com to us. The Armory is...and will be...our go-to location for weapon suggestions, as well as parts & accessories, but more importantly for great customer service and solid guidance and professional suggestions on best-fit components for our particular self-defense needs. Dalton helped explain to my wife all the features of the new pistol, especially the unique DA/SA trigger-pull arrangement associated with the Cherokee, and how trigger pull works with the loaded weapon. That, and how she should get a proper two-handed grip on the pistol using first her right hand to secure a solid purchase on the upper part of the grip followed by the proper wrap of the left hand around the grip/right hand to provide a solid and stable grip to the pistol. That, and after asking Dalton about training courses, he recommended one of his The Armory colleagues for training classes for my wife (and likely me as well...). He provided a card for Sit Aware Tactical training (S. Scolari) and that contacting him would be in our best interests in setting up a course for both of us. 30-minutes later - and after paying the FFL Transfer Fee - my wife was the proud owner of her first weapon. She looks forward to the arrival of her 9mm bulk range ammo, upcoming training courses with Sit Aware, and heading to the desert for some target practice (nest Spring anyway...) Plenty of parking spaces and store was big and had a lot of inventory. Never been there before so the staff was friendly and teaching us how to do everything being new. They made sure we were handing things safely. The shooting area was kind of small but we got lucky and went during non peak hours. The gun rental price was reasonable and the bullet boxes. They had shooting targets for less than 1$ all in all the adventure was nice. I would recommend anyone going there it was a thrill. read more

I ordered a rifle from Palmetto State Armory. This business is listed on their website as an FFL. On the day of delivery, 1hr prior to UPS delivering the weapon, I called to The Armory as a courtesy to let them know it was being delivered, only to be informed that the new owner will not accept deliveries. Rather than making an exception they simply said no. The person I spoke with was polite, but this is NOT how you run a business and I will never again use The Armory for any goods or services. I asked to speak to the owner and was refused and I therefore recommend everyone take your business elsewhere. read more

I bought a firearm at The Armory some years ago. I walked in with the idea of purchasing a specific model, but the two young salesmen in the shop suggested I consider a similar American-made gun, and told me of some of its features. I decided it was a better idea for me than the one I had planned to buy, bought it, shot with it at the shooting range (the range prices are reasonable, and less than or the same as some other shops in the area), and was happy with the purchase and with my interactions and the help I received, new as I was. This week I called and asked if the shop had the serial number of the firearm I had bought. Anthony said he would look into it and called me back shortly thereafter with the date of the purchase and the serial number, which I needed. Even though they're a little further out, The Armory is my "go-to" indoor range & shop. Their AR-15 part selection is good (even for smaller parts) & they carry quality manufacturer's. Their handgun display has the latest & greatest that are out in the market. Their firearm focus is more on the modern semi-auto's & precision rifles (Group-Zero is sold here) than Milsurp, wheel-guns, etc. They have a little optics, used firearms , suppressor display and "Silencer Shop" kiosk as well. Ammo selection/variety is more limited compared to other shops. They do tend to have boxes (Both single & bulk) of common calibers. You may have to wait around a bit for customer service when they get busy but I am usually greeted & offered help every time I walk in. This is a great place to shoot too. 25 yard range with good ventilation and "Action Target" target system. Check-in & out is a breeze & range fee is very reasonable. While their rules are safe, they are not over-bearing & they won't breathe down your back as long as you're safe. Really nice selection of rental's (handgun & long-gun) including full-auto & suppressed guns. Great place to try a modern handgun before you buy too. My experience with the armorer, Anthony, has been fantastic. He re-built my upper receiver and was thorough in trouble shooting problems that arose from parts I provided. Go here! read more

As a first timer when it comes to touching, firing and hearing gunshots; this place is filled with cool people and very respectful. You know, I have no knowledge of guns and it's just a fact of life that if you don't know anything a person will mock you for it. NOT THIS PLACE! They are very helpful and respectful, they will help you with everything. Answer every question you have. The first time we came in was on a weekday and was scheduled for a class for the next Friday. That day came and the instructor was very informative, he made sure that he points every important thing that we need to know. He's a cool guy because he made the lesson very fun. The store clearly have guns for sale and guns for rent. They have cool targets like zombies LOL I had to buy my own pair of ear protection, I did some math and surprisingly they are cheaper than stores like Scheels and REI. He took us to the private lane because gunshots was still freaking me out at the time. I on the other hand made sure that I listened to everything that he had said. He helped getting rid of my anxiety when it comes to gun. Overall I highly suggest this place. It is very clean from bathrooms to the store floor. Helpful and very knowledgeable staff. Went to the armory today and wow ,what a bad experience that was!! As we walked up to the range check in counter the employee checking in shooters was screaming in a very loud violent tone at a shooter for not opening and closing the doors properly. If you need to remind a customer of the proper procedures this is not the way to do it! Next it was our turn to check in and I proceeded to the check in computer and got signed into the system and it said that I had a free range pass because I shot there 8 times and then computer asked if I would like to "Redeem Now" and I did and it was accepted. We then asked the 300 lb screamer range counter dude if we could rent the private range and he said yes and booked us on that range so we very carefully proceed into the range as not to disturb the the 300lb screamer with the door policy and after we packed all of our gear to the private range we saw that it was already booked. Once again the 300 lb range screamer has failed us. After shooting on the public range and being muzzled by at least 3 people during that time we called it quits and went out to the counter to pay. I informed the 300lb screamer that I had a free range session and he said that no I did not and I asked him why and he said that it is only free if I tell him before I shoot?? I challenged the 300lb screamer to his logic behind this spectacularly stupid policy and he became very upset and told once again it was only free if I told him before I shoot. I then asked him how anyone could possibly know that you need to tell the counter dude first before shooting that you have a free pass and he had no answer and became even more upset and then proceeded to puff out his chest and give me his 300lb death stare for like 20 seconds before telling me my session was now free in the most unpolite manor I have seen in quite some time. My favorite Salt Lake City gun range. I've been coming here for 2 years and have always had a great experience. Brian's, Casey and the rest of the team here are awesome. Not your typical jerk gun shop guys. The crowd here is professional and safe. I've never shot next to anyone who made me feel unsafe. I like coming in for the Tuesday bowling shoot especially. I also bought my suppressor through Armory. They helped me with all the paper work and since it lives here while all the paper work clears I can legally come in and shoot it anytime I want.
