Yesterday I stopped by to have my trigger spring and locking block pin replaced in my Glock. The young gentleman who assisted me was very friendly, he got it done in no time. They also had the Taran Tactical mag base for my M&P Shield magazine. He didn't changed for the service and I bought couple of items so we are even. They'll sale you a hanguard and the barrel nut but they won't sale you the barrel shims needed to time the handguard. As the little man said "We don't sale the shims, we use them only for our work. We'd be happy to time your handguard." I said " So you won't sale me the parts?" to which he replied, with a smug/mocking look on his face "Nope!" I walked out and will never go back again. Been here with my two boys twice now. Both visits have been more than up to standards and there will be more trips here. The staff is extremely knowledgeable, courteous and helpful in all areas. Safety is a large concern here I have found. Being from out of town, I want to share the firearms experience with my kids so I get set up with unlimited rentals for all of us. The selection of weapons to rent is very good. We have fired the .50 caliber Barrett, the .308 rifle, SCAR, AR-15, MP-5 full automatic and a variety of handguns. The guys working here are just as excited to fix us up with the guns as we are to shoot them. They have many lanes available and the ventilation is excellent. The range is modern and kept very clean. Most patrons bring their own firearms and just rent the lanes. The store is arranged well with a large selection of guns and accessories for sale. This is an outstanding facility. The retail layout is ideal for finding the firearms and accessories that you are looking for. The staff were all extremely obliging, professional and knowledgeable and the range that we used was very well thought out. The interior ventilation is extraordinary and the shooting lanes provide enough room to comfortably load shoot and review your progress. I have been to several indoor ranges throughout the country and this one is by far my favorite. Five stars! First time my wife and I went to The Armory and we were very impressed! Checking in was fine through an electronic system, which made it fast and easy. The guys behind the counter are very friendly, personable, and professional. We had a few questions (since it was our first time there) and they were happy to help. I went to the shooting range desk and spoke to Chaz to ask for an allen wrench because I wanted to put my red dot sight in my S&W .22 to sight out in (I forgot my tool bag). He was more than happy to go get their box of wrenches to let me borrow one. While shooting my .22, I was having a lot of misfires (7 or of 10 rounds misfired). I went out to the desk and spoke to Chaz again, even though I know the majority of misfires is due to ammunition issue. He followed me back to the firing range and I shot 10 rounds and half were misfires. He analyzed the firing pin impact depth on the cartridges (he noticed the misfired cartridges did not have as deep of impact Mark as the spent cartridges). He then asked me to break the gun down to look at the firing pin mechanism. He left and came back with a small box (50 rounds) of Remington .22 long rifle and said "try this brand" and handed me four rounds. All four rounds fired perfectly. When we left, he didn't charge me for the rounds he gave me, although I expected to pay for them. He said he just wanted to make sure the gun was firing correctly. A small gesture of this magnitude guess a long way for valued customer service. Chaz, your great service, positive attitude, and willingness to go above and beyond will not be forgotten. read more

The staff was once again very helpful and eager to answer my every question. In this case they served as an FFL for me to have a gun purchased elsewhere sent to them. But the transfer fee of $25 was minimal compared to my past experiences at other stores and they were able to tell me things about the weapon and the manufacturer that I had not know. I highly recommend doing business with them. You don't want a fly-by-night place that will take advantage of you, Then this is the place for you. Keith is brilliant as a gunsmith for me recently, and today it was Omar who was excellent with the help. I'll be back soon to use their clean and well-run range for sure. read more

this place is a complete regret. I called tonight to see if they had some parts for an AR-15. I was on hold for 18 minutes and repeated attempts were met with them hanging up. all I needed were some gas rings for my AR bolt I wasn't asking for brain surgery. read more

I want to thank the staff for making my visit to the Armory exceptional in every detail. I rented a H&K .40. What a nice gun. The associate made a recommendation as my trusty Glock is at home. Got some targets and my friend had a few of his guns. It was great fun. I am putting a H&K on my Christmas list. The range is state of the art. Clean and well maintained. You can tell they used the highest quality materials in its construction. I will return. There is a huge selection of new guns at reasonable prices. They are displayed in cases. I have been in there a few times but today was my worst experience by far. I waited to get on the rifle range and I was given lane 5. So far ok. I get in there and discover that the heater is not working and I am directly in front of the blower. I am not wearing a jacket just a long sleeve shirt. I could only take being there a few minutes and left. The short guy was on the register and I complained about the cold air and all he could say was it has been out a few days. He offered no apology just wanted my 10 bucks. I paid and left. I guess employees are a problem everywhere but silly me, I expected to be treated right and fairly. There are other ranges around that will certainly treat me better. I don't know if I will ever go back. Be careful when going there! read more

Super Service We went to the Armory Friday Dec 22 to shoot pistols, rifles and a shot gun. We were greeted at the door and offered help. I had a problem getting my AR 15 to load and one of the guys came by and fixed it promptly. I was so impressed. I had a problem with a shot gun shell loading and ejecting. One of the other guys got the shell out and showed me the shells I had bought were too long. These guys were right on top of their game. We enjoyed our 1 1/2 long shoot. Visiting Salt Lake from Las Vegas and decided to get some time behind the trigger. The closest range was The Armory so we checked it out. The staff was phenomenal and the range was top notch. Fully automated system sent the target out to your desired distance (no guess work required!) and brought it back with ease. Bought a rifle there. I realized 3 months later that it wouldn't shoot straight. They said they'd send it back to manufacturer for me. They made me wait for over a month with no updates. When I asked them if I could check on it myself with my serial number they got all weird and asked "you have your serial number?" I called the manufacturer and they had no record of my firearm. The Armory called the next day and said my rifle was ready. They lied about sending it to the manufacturer and kept it for over a month for no good reason. The Armory couldn't produce a Service Request number or any proof they had sent it for service. They said the manufacturer refused to fix it and charged me for a new front sight. The Armory trash talked the manufacturer and tried to shift blame. I sent the rifle to the manufacturer myself. The barrel was warped. They're sending me a new rifle free of charge. The front sight wasn't a proper fix for the problem. It's over a year after my purchase and I'm still waiting for a working rifle. Keep The Armory on a short leash if you use their service dept. They were polite and seemingly helpful to my face, but they lied to me and weren't willing to do more than refund me for the sight replacement I didn't need. read more

Went here a couple times, seemed like a decent enough range. Unfortunately, their attitude toward their customers online leaves something to be desired. A couple days ago, The Armory's Facebook page posted a couple of hi-larious videos they made in the shop entitled "Liberals and Guns." Now, I'm pretty liberal on most things that aren't guns, but I can laugh at myself as long as the joke is funny. Thing is though, just like something can be both funny and politically incorrect, it can also be both politically incorrect and unfunny; you still have to actually make a good joke. The joke in the videos seemed to be "liberals are gay sissies." The "liberal" in the video walks into the shop, squeals in terror at the sight of several firearms, and speaks with a "gay lisp" that would be right at home in an Adam Sandler movie from the early 90s. Finally, after squealing in terror at nearly every firearm, the staff member shows the liberal a Tiffany blue pocket pistol, which he starts licking, and then purchases before leaving, at which point the staff members laugh at not selling him ammo. HI-LARIOUS I SAY. I'm not stupid; I expect that in Utah especially the majority of gun shop owners and staff will lean (perhaps sharply) to the right, and that's fine. But the Second Amendment doesn't belong to white straight conservative men, and treating it like it does just drives liberals away from being open to shooting sports and increases support for gun control, so you know, thanks for that. I left a comment to the effect of "good to see what you think of your non-right wing customers" and it was promptly deleted. Clearly, if you're not a Trump-supporting REAL MERICAN, you're a sissy [homophobic slur here] and not welcome. If you are liberal, gay, or just don't think that driving people away from gun rights for a cheap laugh is a good idea, and you actually want customer service that doesn't change based on your political views, I suggest Gallenson's and Impact Guns in Salt Lake--the staff at those places might well have personal politics in line with the guys at the Armory, but they don't try to restrict their customer base to people who think like them. I also haven't had issues with Get Some (despite the silly name and the TACTICAL EVERYTHING approach of the store), and while I've only been to TNT and the Gun Vault once each, both seemed good. If The Armory doesn't want your dirty liberal money, might as well find somewhere else to spend it. read more

Came here while on vacation and staying nearby. Let me first start off by saying that we live in California, which has a serious set of rules and regs on purchasing a hand gun. We want to learn more about guns, so we came here to browse, learn and to shoot. We were lucky enough to have Riley help us out. We told him right off the bat that we were from California and Irregardless he helped us anyways when most stores won't even transfer to CA residents. He was patient, incredibly knowledgable and really took his time to teach us about our options. We ending up liking an HK and Glock so we decided to book some lane time and rent those two to fire off and try. He knew were were novices and so he came into the lane with us to show us the gun and help us handle it...the entire time. I thought that was incredibly helpful and patient of him to Do so when he absolutely did not have to help us at all. Thanks Armory and Riley!! read more
