I just asked 2 simple questions, which they had multiple snarky responses for. They made feel very incompetent.

The staff are super helpful and friendly which makes the shopping experience all the better. I was glad to see they were also taking precautions by wearing masks and gloves. This store is one of the best surplus stores that I have ever found. I didn't know what to expect but I always like to discover new places. It was so much bigger inside than it appeared outside. I needed to update my camping equipment and I found a modular sleep system in excellent condition at a really reasonable price. I had a dog tag made for my doggo and that was very interesting to watch them make it on a really old authentic machine. I looked around and tried to remember everything that they carry so that I know where to find it in the future. I met a soldier there that arrived home and was moved by his story. All in all a really good experience. I would recommend Uncle Sam's Army Navy as a great place to shop. This time I came in to find some cold weather gear because I'm heading out on a backpacking trip and didn't want to freeze out in the cold. They actually have an excellent selection of thermals and polypro head to toe. I got geared up and also got some waterproof gore-tex to keep dry. Basically was able to find everything I needed for my camping trip in one place which was great.

They have great service and a an awesome selection of sporting and surplus military gear.read more

Outdoors Unlimited is a BYU-owned outdoors goods retail and rental store. I've only gone there for…read morerentals so I can only speak to that. First, the interior is very nice and well-kept. There are two sides of the store--one for retail and one for rental. The two things I rent here are ski/snowboard equipment and tandem bicycles. For ski/snowboard equipment, I think this place is tough to beat. The equipment is not only always very new and well-maintained, but it also comes at a great price (about $20/day) I do night skiing and snowboarding every now and again and Sundance so I'm glad that I can get cheap rentals somewhere convenient and cheap in town rather than getting gouged at the resort. The tandem bike rentals are also awesome. It's a great date, and it's $25 for the day. The Provo River Trail is one block away which is beautiful and leads right up Provo Canyon past Bridal Veil Falls if you're looking for a longer, but more scenic ride. The one thing I don't love is that, because the store almost exclusively employs college students, it leads to high turnover. High turnover for me ends up meaning that oftentimes the employees aren't familiar with prices. I've had to almost with people there two or three times on prices I knew, but they insisted were more. I don't think it's bad customer service on their part, but it is a little annoying. Overall, I think this place is great!

If you ever come make sure to ask for them. They will help you out right. This is a great shop and would most def recommend anyone to come get their gear here! I rented full snowboarding gear (boots, bindings, board) and it was get cheap! Only 26.70! I was very satisfied! Again can't emphasize enough how much help Maryn and Kenzey were!!!! Thank you!!!!!

There was one package price listed. I ordered them as such. I then received a shipping notification for the bindings with a separate price. I called immediately to cancel the order as I knew that having bindings mounted was not cheap. This was not what I budgeted for. I was told that everything was shipped, so the order could not be cancelled, but to call back when I received everything for an adjustment or to return the equipment. Btw, when ordering I was offered a 15% coupon, but then at checkout was told it didn't apply to my order. When I received the order, I checked with local ski shops and $100 was the lowest price I could find for mounting. I spent a half hour on the phone with a polite, understanding customer service rep inquiring about some type of credit. $25 was the offer. I pointed out how the ad was misleading, an offered coupon was not honored, and it would cost them more if I returned everything. I simply wanted at least half of the mounting cost reimbursed. The most frustrating aspect of this customer service interaction was that a supervisor will not get on the phone. The poor rep had to keep going back and forth. When she told me she could escalate the issue to a supervisor, I readily agreed, but she pointed out they would respond by email! THEY WILL NEVER GET ON THE PHONE AND SPEAK WITH SOMEONE!!! Sorry, that's horrible policy and I would discourage anyone from patronizing this business.

I was hired as a part time gun counter sales associate and I was working every single weekend, and just about 39 hours per week. I begged and pleaded for the management to make me a full time staff member, because I wanted nothing more than medical benefits. They kept rejecting me. I even had positive reviews for my customer service while working at the gun counter. I complained to management and was labeled as a trouble maker because I saw some gun counter staff just sitting in the back vault area watching Seinfeld. The gun counter staff then avoided me and made up a rumor that I told everyone to quit. Which is completely false. I had retired about 18 months ago and just wanted to do something besides sit at home. If I had told everyone to quit, why would I still be working there at Cabela's? During one single episode where I thought I had broken a gun case, I said beneath my breath, "I hope I didn't break this fucking case, because this customer is buying 3 handguns to hand down to his grandchildren." They made me write out a statement admitting to this and I had sincerely apologized to the one manager that overheard me. They made contact with corporate which is to be expected, then terminated me and said that I had used terroristic threats towards other staff. Did they go to bat for me? I lead the gun counter with Bass Pro Cards, did they take that into consideration? NO, NOT AT ALL! If they only knew the absolute truth on how bad the mole and the use of foul language is displayed at the store, in the break room and in general, every single person would be terminated. Sorry but not sorry now.

The Pro Shop at Sundance not only got my friends up and fitted and out the door within 20 minutes, on a busy Friday morning, but they also only charged them $100 for two days of rental for two people. Now, we had a group discount because of an even that weekend, but it was 10%, so call it $120 for rental for two days for two people...sounds like a deal to me. But isn't that always how it works? :-)

I've lived in Orem, Utah since 1987 and have been to this store less than 10 times. When I worked…read moreretail management (8 years), I used to teach the sales staff that as important as it was to make a good impression during a sale, it was more important to make an even better impression when something was being returned. That's where the staff at Park's finally turned me off of this store completely. The last time I was here was just before Father's Day, 2010. I bought a 4 person tent that was on sale. The sales staff was very helpful in assisting me with the purchase. However, when I took it back because of a defect, the assistant store manager who was on duty and took care of the exchange acted like he was doing me a huge favor and that I was imposing on his time. That left a bad taste in my mouth. That wasn't even the end. I took the new tent (WFS 732) camping and should have checked it out first before (like I did with the original tent) heading out with my sons. One of the shockcords was broken so I had to do a quick fix while we were at our campsite. After returning home, I had to go buy new elastic cord to fix the shockcord. About a month later, my son took it camping and the plastic zipper broke and so did the plastic hook that holds the rain cover to the tent. By this time, I had lost my receipt and knowing how they acted with my exchange when I had my receipt, I figure why even bother. To anyone from Park's who may end up reading this, know that you lost a customer when you blew it on the exchange. Take a lesson from the folks at Nordstrom.
