Huge sporting goods store convenient walking distance from the courtyard Marriott Orem University. Walked in to browse but was looking for cotton mock turtleneck shirts or whatever they might have in the swim section since I'm a swimmer. Nice store similar to Dick's Sporting Goods in California but it truly is the wrong time of the year for looking for swim stuff and they did not have any cotton mocks so I left. read more

The store is super pretty and well set up. Tons of great merchandise. Just a little bummed out on product knowledge for their sales associates. I came in looking for some snowboard boots and told The shoe guy that I have really wide feet. He recommended that I got Solomon's.. the boots seem to fit pretty well at first. It wasn't until after I got on the lift there was a ton of pain. I googled it when I got home and Solomons are legit the most narrow boot on the market.. definitely my fault for not doing my research but really wish that the store hadn't not recommended these or that when I said I had wide feet. The ass could recommend me towards a better option. Have only worn the boots once and now they're sitting in my closet so that sucks. read more

Very popular place in the mall, the sell bikes, clothes, guns, sports equipment, work out materials and equipment, shoes and so forth. They have everything you need when it comes to exercise and out door activities. Lots of employees to help you find what you need. The down sides is it's not very affordable, the sales are never really good unless it's the ending summer sales and winter sales when the items won't be wanted so they drop the prices by a lot. You can find what they sale else where for cheaper. But overall they tend to have the latest equipment out and are always up to date with trending products. read more

Love Al's, I have been to the Orem and Logan locations and they have always had what I needed when I needed it. Also, they do some great Flash Deal sales and I HIGHLY recommend everyone joins their email list for those deals alone. I recently purchased a Pro Form treadmill for $500 when most other retailers (Costco, Sam's Club, and Best Buy) we're selling it between $600-$700 on sale. The flash deals are almost daily and you never know what it will be but sometimes they will have something you need and it will save you a lot of money. read more

They've got a great selection of brands and the store layout is solid. Plenty of staff members to help answer questions. I also love supporting local brands. I just returned something today and the staff were laughing at me and interrogating me over a $12.00 item that was still in its packaging. I bought it two days ago and didn't realize it was the wrong item.. and they acted like I was being sketchy. Extremely disrespectful staff and management. I think I've found the best sporting goods store in Utah. I've been in the big chains (Big 5, Dick's, REI, Play It Again Sports), the smaller chains (Scheels, Sportsman's Warehouse), and the Utah and mom-and-pop operations (MVP Sports, Park City Sports, Jackson's Base Camp, Banhof). None of them has the variety and quality of Al's. It is part REI with all the essentials for the outdoorsy stuff. Patagonia, North Face, Columbia, Terrama, and Black Diamond are only a few of the brands. There's an abundance of camping gear. I'm no expert, but they have some high-quality stuff. There also a lot of hiking gear, so if you're crazy enough to traverse a mountain, have I got a place for you! The alpine, back-country, downhill and cross-country skier--along with the snowboarders and the snowshoers--will also be in heaven. Boots, bidding, beanies, bags, and a whole bunch of things that don't start with a B. And hunting! I haven't shot a gun in my life, but if you're a hunter just look for the mounted deer heads to find your own shopping Xanadu. There's all the ammo, reloading kits, game calls, knives, and came gear. If you would rather hook 'em instead of shooting 'em, you'll find rods, reels, bait, and the rest. If you've got a ball-sport junkie in your family, you'll find an abundance of footballs, basketballs, baseballs, soccer balls, lacrosse balls, golf balls, and all the accoutrements needed to make the team. On top of that, there's a lot of team gear. Not shockingly, the majority of it is for fans of the team a few miles south: BYU. I've been going to Al's for a while now. I compare it to a smaller Scheels that has just as good of a selection. My main review is for Craig in the fishing department. I'm getting into fly fishing and called to see if there was a rod he could put on hold for me. He helped put that aside from me and then began to offer me some tips of where to begin. He was extremely friendly, personable, and willing to share his expertise. This has won me over. I'm going to check out Al's flirts before anywhere else from now on! Great store! Our family has been a #1 supporter of Als for years purchasing hundreds of dollars a year. I went in today to exchange a pair of jogger pants with tags on that I received as a Christmas present. I had a gift receipt but had lost it. He made me give him all the phone numbers it could have been purchased under. My daughter who gave them to me is on a flight today. He asked if I can text her even after I told him this. I then said I'll look out in my car again for receipt if there isn't a way to exchange. He said ok (he was ok w me going back out to rifle through my car) while he will see if a manager will approve it. When I came back in without finding a receipt, he didn't offer any info about what we can do about this until I asked if he had spoken to a manager. At this time he said they could exchange (with a suspicious, bothered and put our tone and look) but I would have to pay more. By this point, it was such a run around and he seemed so hesitant to help me, I just said "it seems too big of a hassle and I'll just keep this color." Definitely not the customer service for returns I'm accustomed to at Target, Nordstroms and Dicks. Disappointed read more

It is unfortunate, but I felt the need to create an account in order to address Al's recent pattern of disappointing customer service. Since moving from Utah to Carson City, NV, I have continued to support Al's through my online orders. They've always been my first-stop for any outdoor recreation needs. That being said, their service has gone downhill. Ever since their website received a facelift, every-other order of mine has been canceled without explanation. This behavior has, on occasion, proven to be a major inconvenience. As a result, Al's is no longer my first-stop for outdoor equipment. I would like to support the business, but their current pattern of behavior has fostered a sense of unreliability. There are too many convenient alternatives that are more respectful of my time and will actually ship orders after I've taken the time to locate and purchase the products. read more

The Cort & Guys at the gun counter are awesome! Awesome stock on a lot of guns that are out of stock everywhere else. Awesome prices on everything you need from optics, ammo, reloading, guns,fishing,archery. If they don't have it they can order it in for you and usually comes pretty quick. read more

This was my first visit to this store. I was completely impressed with the staff who greeted me and offered to help me BEYOND what I even needed. I wish I caught the young lady's name - she knew about every type of water bottle they had and gave me a quick rundown before sending me into the camping department to browse. Then, a sticker was missing for the price, and a young man helped me instantly by looking it up. I noticed how neat and tidy the store was and that was really pleasant. The displays were cool too - boy do I wish I could get one of those fancy water bottles that looked like wood! HA HA!! The displays made me want that more than what I needed (wish list item). The check out process was smooth. I took my purchases to my husband and within an hour had to return one of them. That, too, was completely easy. What a great store to know about and they look like they have everything. I'd say they are like REI (where I'm from) except nicer employees. read more

Do NOT honor warranty. I purchased ski gloves a day ago. Went skiing for 2 hours and the leather on the gloves started cracking. They refused to return or exchange it saying they have been worn. $150 gloves should not be breaking so quickly and ANY store from REI to Wallmart to Amazon would have honored this return, but Al's Sporting Goods Does Not Honor returns or exchanges of defective products. read more

My husband and I have been in once and didn't look around much.. I went back today and spent a good hour in there exploring all the different sections. Every time a employee saw me they greeted me and asked if I needed help. They were all so friendly and I thought it was so cool how they responded with various answers true to their character when I asked them how they were in return. Grew up going to Al's Sporting Goods in Logan so I was happy to see them expand into Utah county. The selection of sporting goods at Al's is unmatched and they carry all the big brand names. This is my go to store anytime I need anything from guns to snowboarding boots - they have it all! The staff here is also super friendly and very knowledgeable on all the products they carry. Al's is seriously the best! Jon in fishing is a lifesaver! I'm just getting into fly fishing and he was so helpful and kind. He even took his time to show us how to tie a surgeon knot and made us practice until we felt like we had it. Who does that?? Jon did! Honestly, I don't know why you would shop anywhere else for sporting goods. The store looks amazing and is in an awesome location. They always have exactly what I'm looking for and have extremely helpful employees when I have questions about a specific product. I recently bought a Kuat bike rack from them online and the process was extremely easy. They emailed me letting me know that they got my order and then let me know when it was ready to pick up.
