Little frustrated with Cabela's this is the fourth time this is happened to me and I will no longer order from them again. I ordered a pair of boots to have shipped to my place seeing how I live over 2 1/2 hours away a week goes by dawns on me that I haven't received my boots. Get online check says ready for pick up when I selected shipping so I called the store. Spoke with customer service. Tell him what happened. They don't know why it was shipped to their store but tells me I can come pick them up. I tell her I live quite a ways away. can't you just ship them ive already paid for shipping she then tells me, No we can't but we can refund you and reorder I said absolutely NOT I shouldn't have to back track because of your error and have to wait longer for the product I've already ordered and paid for. Needless to say Sportsman's will be getting my business from here on out. read more

Do not ever buy a lifetime warranty on anything at cabellas/bass pro shops, they have any excuse in the book to deny it. Ours was a $400 fishing rod. Has cabellas right on it. They said they don't make it anymore so they can only give us $20 towards a different rod. read more

Today I went to the Station Park store in Farmington, Utah. GREAT EMPLOYEES!!! I shopped for hiking boots, and the employee I interacted with in the boot section was friendly and helpful, everything I enjoy about retail interactions. In the clothing section, I was perusing a shirt table and an employee, unprompted, told me about a special they were having and advised me of various styles and sizes. The two people I interacted with at checkout were also stellar -- engaging and personable, smiling and in a good mood. I'm awful about getting names -- I will strive to do a better job, but the four employees I interacted with today were all employees you can be proud of, people customers are happy to engage with. I saw that they were doing free 4x6 photos with the Easter Bunny but you have to make an appointment online. I was able to make my appointment on Friday for the following Thursday at 4 pm. I love that Cabela's does the online appointments, I feel like it really cuts down on the rush of people. Once I got there I was a little disappointed with the lack of advertising for the event. There were literally no signs telling you where to go for the event. I started to the back of the store since previous years they have had Santa both behind the mountain on the bottom floor and the top floor. However, the Easter Bunny event was on the main floor in the North West showroom with the North America animals. The line quickly grew but the photographer was quick. Wish they would have given out a little Easter treat or activity like they do for the Santa pictures but still well worth it. read more

Pretty much the same thing as BPS except it doesn't have all the fish tanks. I remember when I was a kid we used to get all the Cabela catalogs. Always had Cabela products at home. Never had any issues with their branded products. The store layout is easy to navigate. They offered some good deals as well. Some people go to Cabela's to stock up on fishing supplies or buy a new firearm...not us. We go to Cabela's with our kids for their gigantic taxidermy displays, their fish tank with monstrous fish, and the pond where we can feed the trout for a quarter. (Okay, we also sometimes stock up on fishing/camping supplies too.) This place is like a weird Disneyland - with a food court upstairs, popcorn and fudge that they make, and so many amazing hunting displays of stuffed deer, bears, cougars, birds, etc. And you're thankful for the food because the adults are so happy that you end up staying here for hours (so your kids get all hangry). It's open at 9am until late, 9pm (except on Sundays, when it closes at 7pm), so you can keep your kids up while you walk slowly around with your jaw dropped, admiring the amount of clothing patterned in camouflage, and trying not to give in and buy their spiced nuts. If you bring your firearm with you, you'll have to check in at the little kiosk inside the door. Also check out the bargain cave at the back for lots of markdowns on everything. Little did they know (or maybe they do know and it's a part of their marketing plan!) that we would sometimes just come to Cabela's to buy nothing at all except a dollar's-worth of fish food for the kids to feed the trout. But then we always come here now whenever we need fishing supplies (they have a much better selection than the other outdoor suppliers) or outdoor items too. We love this place. read more

I was preparing for a camping trip and I was in a mood to shop around for a bit and burn some time--Cabela's is a wonderful place for that. Now, I am more of a Scheel's girl if I am being honest. However, I did name my puppy "Cabella" as a child so I guess I am switzerland about the two. It is nice having an outdoor store close to my home like this! Lehi really doesn't have many other places like this so it is a great store to have so close to my house. Cabela's has such an assortment of items; I love it. They have Kayaks, all kinds of nice clothes, outdoor gear, camping stuff, shoes, home decor, and all kinds of cool knick knacks. I also believe I saw some kind of restaurant within the building as well. Admittedly, I didn't realize they had an upstairs until I was in there for probably an hour. I loved the upstairs and all the awesome camping stuff they had up there! I got a pretty nice lantern for only a few bucks. I brought it on my camping trip and it worked out so well. Another thing that stood out about my visit to Cabela's was the incredible assortment of clearance. I am not sure if it was just the timing of my visit but they had SO MUCH awesome things clearanced down so much! I got a nice little Christmas shirt in the middle of June but it was originally $30 and I got it for $5 sooooooo... The women's clothing and the shoes were probably my favorite parts of the store. They had a LOT of cute, good quality shoes. Unfortunately, they couldn't find the shoes I was looking for in the back but I will definitely keep them in mind when I am in the market for new shoes again! The women's clothing had all kinds of my favorite brands--Columbia, Patagonia, and more. They also had lots of cute colors and styles. And he really loved the little pond where you can buy a handful of fish food for a quarter. I've been a loyal Cabelas customer since they opened the Lehi location back in '05; but this interaction was handled so poorly it's really soured my overall view of the brand. Focus on customer service, support, and satisfaction seems to have taken a nosedive since the acquisition by Bass Pro Shops. So, one day--while driving in the car with a couple of really outdoorsy people--we drove past a sign promoting Cabela's on the freeway so I asked if any of them if they had been and they were all like: "Oh, yeah! It's way awesome! I loved it." And I respond: "Oh, really? Is it Italian food?" Needless to say, they all looked back at me and I had no idea why. "You don't know what Cabela is?" "Isn't it a restaurant?" "........................" Yeah, but now I know what it is. Not only does it sell epic proportions of outdoor equipment that will make you the modern day Paul Bunyan or Paulina Bunyan. It is a natural life museum, aquarium, restaurant, confectionary shop, and arcade all within this trump of all outdoor retailers. If you need anything that deals with the outdoors this place has it. No questions about it. I am not much of a hardcore, gun-ho, nature breathing person but this place has everything for you to get there. Everything and anything. The restaurant that was inside was closed at the time so I stumbled upon a confectionary shop that sold fresh fudge and other goodies. It is slightly expensive but very hyperly sweet and decadent. I had no idea going in that I would be walking out with fudge. I thought it was ironic being my first purchase at Cabela's. Anyways, this place is plainly amazing and I was beyond impressed. I had no idea that such a place could exist! If you have never been you are in for a unique experience!. If you are a devout animal lover then close your eyes at the beginning and run upstairs to the restaurant and other friendly goodies. Oh, Cabela's. I have recently purchased a firearms from this store since all the other stores are out of stock. The price they have advertised on the internet web site is very reasonable for it being a used gun. I don't have any issue with the purchase per say, but when you inquired about the firearms, they seem to be very helpful. But the after sales support is none. I have ask the sales clerk specially for the total invoice and shipping information when the gun is packed and ready to ship. It was by verbal and by email twice I had requested the info. but again there was no reply, till I called the store two days later and find out that the gun had already shipped. Without any racking info. there is no way for me to find out if the gun has actually arrived at my FFL. But after a brief conversation with the compliance manager of the store? I guess she finally gave me the tracking info. for me to communicate that to my FFL. But she was a bit reluctance to give any more info. but said that there is a lots of file to dig to find my invoice and the email that was supposedly send to me with the invoice and tracking number. Don't get me wrong the item arrive safely and it was a good purchase. But still the after sales and communication of the store needs a big time boost and a big time adjustment. Hope the Store manager will read this and get that fix, I do like to shop at Cabela's but with after sales support as such? I don't think so. read more

Great store, big, full of everything for camping, hunting, outdoor living. They have food items, snacks, clothing, even furniture! My sister and her husband love that cabin/western style, and their whole house is furnished with outdoor or "western" stuff. So we can always find them some little thing to add to their collection! We also love looking at all the hunting riffles, hunting gear, and hand guns. What a collection. This is a bit far for us to go to but the selection makes the trip worth it. read more

Oh Cabelas... takers of paychecks and playground for all. This store is awesome . It could use some updating. Their selection is great, customer service is spot on ( even the grumpy employees were helpful). The fish tank is really fun for Littles and their animal displays are fantastic. The only thing this store is lacking (compared to bass pros) is an updated restaurant which people would go out of their way for, the kids shooting range had a majority of the shooting stations out of order and the elevator looks much like a service elevator. Seeing as this Cabela's is so popular it even has its own street named after it, the company could really give this particular store some tlc. Follow up for the gun counter : This review is for the employee Steve at the gun counter. He's awesome and extremely helpful. He took his time helping me pick my first rifle and sighting it in. This store does not enforce masks at our peak of the pandemic. Only about 1/4 of the shoppers there were wearing a mask and the store clerks and management did not care whatsoever. I am completely astounded that this is okay with Cabela's. Horrible experience and we quickly moved out of the store to go to Scheels (where they DO have a mask mandate!) will not return to Cabela's. read more

I was very impressed with the aquarium and the vast array of gadgets (mostly for guys who like cooking in campings and outdoors, i would say). Cool store with 2 levels and also kind of 'museum' of animals found in the area (that gives me a mixed feeling, as I thought the animals were fake and they are actually taxidermia). Cabela's is an outdoors persons HEAVEN!!! We went to take our kids to see Santa the other night. Our plan was to walk in, find the Jolly Guy in the Red Suit and get out. We found Santa and he was amazing. He was so nice to my kids. They even took pictures and gave us a copy for free, while also allowing us to take our own pictures. After Santa, we wandered the store. My oldest found a toy pump shotgun and "had to have it". Since his birthday was the next day, I allowed him to buy it. Then we wandered into a large animal exhibit and talked about the animals they had there. There is a large aquarium too! My kids absolutely loved the fish. After we left, my 6 yr old asked if we could go back every day! read more

This is a really cool store. My kids like to go just to look at the animals on display ha ha. And there is a lot of outdoor gear. And pretty much everything you can think of if you need to go on an outdoor adventure. I would say it is a little bit pricey. The store is really fun though and even has a small stream with fish going through it. We went there to get a free picture with Santa which was really fun. The line was really short and he is there pretty much all day every day throughout December for a free photo op. They also had a station where we could write a letter to Santa and color. They also have a lot of fun vintage candy that you can buy near the checkout stands. read more

When you go into a HUGE speciality store like Cabela's, you usually don't expect amazing service, right? Boy, was I wrong. Every employee we spoke with was so personable and helpful. Specifically, Jordan at the gun counter - SO helpful and understanding of my inconvenient need to compare a million different scopes. If he was annoyed, he didn't show it. Was extremely polite and kind and interested in what I was interested in. As I was chatting with him about different products, other employees would come up and casually offer their opinions and experience as well. Overall, my single best experience in a Cabela's. For the sheer size, wonder, and awe, I probably have leaned heavy on the rating here. Because as a functional place to transact business, I have to be honest: I really don't buy much (anything?) here, and I don't actually stop in more than once a year or so. If you're not familiar, Cabela's is a destination retailer. That is, their model is to open MASSIVE locations with lots of attractions and features and count on people to drive there from miles and miles away. What kind of attractions? Giant fish tanks, massive displays of stuffed dead things, food, and a huge variety of outdoors gear. As a pretty experienced outdoorsman, I may have a few thoughts on this that seem a little detailed, but here's how it breaks down for me. Cabela's will probably have something like what you're looking for, but it may not be the best/cheapest/closest fit to what you want. It may, but there's a good chance it may not. For example, in the fishing section, they do have a good variety of items, but there's so much stuff there than no one around here uses (or should use, really) that it gets clogged up when you want to find something practical for Utah's waters. Ya, you may need to stock up for your trip to Canada for pike, but c'mon, we just don't need that much stuff in Utah. And the stuff that does work for our waters is, on average, more expensive than where you find it elsewhere in the state. When Cabela's first opened I went with a list of my favorite lures, gear, etc. and comparison shopped. And they lost every price battle on that list of about 10 or so items, if they had it. Game processing? Same thing. They sell inhouse brands over very well-respected national brands. You'll get by fine, but you'll pay more. But yes, they do have a large inventory. Clothing? You can score a deal every so often, but it's only a deal off of the original price, which does seem spendy. But yes... they have a ton of it. Hats, pants, camo, winter, summer, shorts, longs sleeves, hiking, hunting, rain gear, and so on. The other thing that's probably more unique to me, is that I really like specialized gear. Lightweight, hardcore, for gear geeks like myself. And Cabela's takes a more middle of the road approach. Nothing too terribly chintzy, but nothing very cutting edge. I don't fault them for that--it's their model--but I do prefer a more tech-specific approach. So... yes for the show. For the fun. For the kiddos. But when it comes to opening my wallet I probably will stick to the local guys that sell more of what I need for less. read more

Today was my first trip to Cabela's and I was impressed. Cabela's runs a first class store with all the hunting, camping, fishing, and outdoor gear anyone could want or need. Each department is packed with equipment, clothing, and all manner of accessories. Make sure to stop by the aquarium to see the fish and check out the taxidermy exhibits throughout the store to see some impressive mounts and animals. The staff at Cabela's is friendly and very helpful, sometimes a rare thing these days at most retail stores. I picked up a few items for archery and trap shooting that I really liked and the prices were good. Although Cabela's can be pricey I think like anywhere else deals can be found if you're looking for them. Their large clearance area for instance was packed with discounted and marked-down merchandise. When I'm in the area I'd definitely stop again at Cabela's. read more

I just returned from the Cabela's in Lehi, Utah where they honored the old Cabela's policy in which they "used to offer a lifetime guarantee on all Cabela's brand products. Meaning, if you purchased a Cabela's brand fishing rod and it broke or malfunctioned under normal wear and tear, you could return it for a new one at no charge." I would like to thank the 2 women who spent an hour trying to find a rod to replace my Fish Eagle II that was purchased in 1997. I realize that once Cabela's had been purchased in 2017 that you could utilize this policy for one time only and I really do appreciate all the help that we were given today. This store is more interested in shoving a credit card down your throat (literally), than selling merchandise. On top of it all... their service is pretty awful. Don't attempt to price match. They have about 1000 policies they have to review (and waste your time) before they tell you no. Also... beware. They will not price match their online store. Don't even ask... otherwise you will be standing for 10-15 Minutes for them to identify a reason NOT to provide you superior service. read more

I was always a huge fan of Cabela's when it first opened, and as well as just being a great place to just wander, and indeed a good place to get some food, it also has certainly combined that with the practical side of having what I need also combined with helpful and friendly service. I hadn't been here since Scheels opened up in Sandy, and while the comparison is an obvious thing they really are not the same beast. When it comes to the more hard core outdoorsman Cabela's is your go to place, there's everything here and that's what it unashamedly caters to without having the identity crisis that I have oft said that Scheels suffers from by trying to cater for a wider audience. For the most part this store is well organized, and different types of outdoor pursuits placed in their own sections around this two floor behemoth of a store. As well as the sales areas, it also contains an aquarium with native fresh water fish, several areas of taxidermy displays showing various wildlife, and (speaking of getting stuffed) even a restaurant. If you do eat at Cabela's just remember the phrase "Prime Rib Steak sandwich with onion rings for the win" and you will go away happy while also being glad it's such a large store so you can burn of some of the calories. Overall, I've never had a bad experience here, and when making a couple higher end purchases especially have found the staff to be friendly and knowledgeable, and having such a wide selection in one place and someone to actually explain the differences is certainly enough to make this somewhere I'll come back to, and regardless it's a fun place to visit from time to time, especially now they have the outlet stores up near here too! read more

We are giving this 5 stars for their large RV parking area and amenities. So much better than Wal-mart for an overnight stay. They have a dump station and potable water, dog kennels and even a horse corral. Now that is being friendly to travelers! Just wish their restaurant would have been open last 5pm so we could have given them some businees. read more

Cabela's to me is very overpriced on firearms which is usually what I'm interested in. However, the store is just so much fun! They've got great food (don't even get me started on their fudge), and the stuffed animal and live fish exhibits are fun for me and for my nieces and nephews. I probably come once a month or every other month to buy some ammo, sample some free fudge, or just walk around. It's a fun place, but overpriced. 7/10 would try again. read more

For me, this has more been a place to come with friends to check out things that they wanted to see or to just hang out. I don't actually know how their prices compare to other stores that sell similar items (firearms, outdoor gear, etc.), but I do know they have tons of stuff! I would venture to guess their stuff isn't cheap here, though, unless you're able to find a deal. I think the main selling point is you will find EVERYTHING here instead of searching around at a bunch of other stores finding what you need here and there. Not sure if it's because Bass Pro shops bought them or poor management. Worse customer service EVER! Not sure why they have employed Caitlin. Returned boots with receipt for different size and they didn't have them in stock. So, they sent them in and said exchange would need to be made at the store or cost to ship to home. No problem, but then I get an email that a gift card is being sent to the store for pick up (guess they had it wrong in inventory). Drive back down to Utah county and they say they cannot find the gift card even with the QR code and order number provided in email . Customer service then says it's not our fault you need to take it up with corporate because our gift cards are ours not theirs, what? We bought the boots here. By the way, husband is a black card member which means we spend way too much here already. This store has gone down hill the past two years. We will be cancelling that card. By the way, I've never left a poor review somewhere, but that's how bad of an experience this has been. read more
