I love Scheels. I like how they are organized that somehow makes shopping comfortable. The layout of the store is great, from clothing to camping to the cafe to hunting to toys. There is a great selection and variety. I mostly go for the toys. There is a specific toy that I seek and this is the place to find them. While their toy department is not huge and is just a relatively smaller department within the store, what they do have is quality stuff, things that people actually seek out. Lego sets, RCs, educational children's toys, games, etc. I was pleasantly surprised to see a decent selection of disc golf discs. They even had some of one of my favorite brands, Kastaplast! Either Kastaplast is finally getting some mainstream recognition or Scheels has a good sporting goods manager. Speaking of which, Ashton is a great guy and truly thinks of the customer first and the customer's experience. There were even Zuca disc golf carts there. And they were all on sale. Another aspect to love about Scheels are the things you can do there like mini bowling, shooting arcade, and the Ferris wheel. You can have a date there for cheap! And then go to the cafe for a meal or treats. BTW, the jerky they sell there is excellent! All the employees there are very helpful. In some small ways, Scheels is better than Bass Pro, Cabela's, Sportsman's Warehouse. In this competitive market, small ways is what stands you apart. I really like those other stores, too, but Scheels just feels different. 5* = A top favorite. Mind-blowing good. I will definitely return and I will go out of my way to go here. Worth every dime of my money. 4* = Outstanding. Top-tier. Some elements not quite as good as it gets, but it still is worthy of my regular business. 3* = Good experience. I might do repeat business if it is convenient, the only option, the only one in its category, or on a whim, but would not be among the first thing to come to mind. Would definitely recommend you trying it to get your own take on it. 2* = Not so good. Would not recommend at all. Waste of money. 1* = How are they still in business? Sorry to do this but things are very different at Scheels than in the past. I spent 30 minutes in the Kuhl department and no one even offered help or bothered to say hello. (I had several questions) 10 minutes in golf department. Same story. 20 minutes in BBQ and the two guys there seemed more worried about the display looking great than offering help. I've always loved Scheels but I am very disappointed with the current lake of service or lack of. I hope things improve! (I only spent $250) read more

This place is massive and offers all kinds of cool merchandise... for every sport and outdoor activity. Pricing is typical. Selection is pretty great. This place is like a mall in itself with a Ferris wheel, games for kids to play, cafe and a beautiful fish tank built into the entrance walk way over head. read more

GETTING HERE: I was a passenger and am a bit directionally-challenged, but Yelp has the address correct and you can navigate there correctly. I have a vague recollection it's near the freeway and it has a very large footprint! REVIEW: My friend says, "Let's go to Scheels before I take you to the airport!" This location in particular had some unique photo opportunities specific to Utah including arches, and rock climbing photo booths. Every department seemed to be well kept and clean, and our interactions with staff were pleasant. Scheels carries a huge selection of outdoor and sporting goods. This not an area I spend much time, so to speak. That said, when I was looking for a new Victorinox pocket knife or a Yeti insulated water container, This is where I ended up. Most recently, I was looking for the local store I would get the recumbent exercise bike I wanted to purchase. Scheels had it. They are a lot of flashy things for kids and family, but at the end of the day, it's nice to have a superstore that just carries almost everything. The bike was large, but the guys at the loading dock worked to help me out on getting it in the vehicle. read more

Scheels is an interesting experience. I personally very much love and relate to the inventory. It's my style and covers most of my very favorite activities. So I love going in there. Your experience can be very dependent upon your needs when you walk in. If you know exactly what you want and where to go you can get in and out fairly easily. The wait lines at checkout aren't typically too long and there are usually fairly fast. If you need any other help in the store, we'll that where it can get tricky. It seems like the staff is general nice enough but they often aren't looking for those that need help. You have to seek them out and that's no small feet a lot of times. They don't staff the place adequately for peak times at all. And if you're in the shoe department or fishing supplies area etc and there's thirty people all waiting to ask questions or try things on you won't ever be seen if you try And wait politely. You have to interject to get any attention. I feel badly for the poor staff just trying to keep up with the constant in stream of requests and frustrated customers just trying to get some service. They are also good and returns but that also in an area that you often will find yourself waiting for an hour because it's not adequately staffed. Mixed reviews for me. Love the stuff. Hate the hassle associated with buying or returning it though. It's also what I consider on the pricey end for the goods. read more

Scheels is essentially a tourist attraction you have to stop by at least once. Huge Ferris wheel in the middle of the store. Delicious snacks, arcade and fish tanks make this a fun stop for the kiddos as well. It's their prices on some items that will keep you coming back. While the sports apparel is a bit overpriced, I've been able to find golf clubs, guns and other sporting accessories for a great price here. This is a really fun outdoor-gear type store with a huge Ferris wheel, games, tons of taxidermy displays and an aquarium inside! So even when we were done shopping, we still wandered around looking at all the "attractions". Unfortunately, the Ferris wheel and shooting games appeared to be closed due to Covid or we would've stayed longer I'm sure lol, so be aware. They had tons of equipment and tons of brands - everything you could need for any outdoor needs. I'd say they are right on par with a smaller Bass Pro Shops or Cabelas. They also have tons of clothes and shoes just in general as well. Tons of camping gear and fishing supplies and guns!! Even a fancy "premium gun room" full of designer (aka expensive) guns lol! I even found cans of flavored oxygen haha! They had clean, large bathrooms and good escalators in case you don't wanna take the stairs. I gave it 4 stars bc of the attraction closures and also the staff - while most were pleasant enough, we had trouble finding help when needed - many times the staff run off if they see you coming so that's a little frustrating. read more

When I think of Scheels, my mind automatically goes to sporting equipment and outdoor recreational gear. But after browsing the store (again) last night, I'm enlightened to the many, many other products they carry. I saw lingerie, Christmas ornaments and jewelry. None of those items would be on my "Scheel's" list, but I could get them here if I wanted! More than just a store, Scheels is a destination, a place to go spend an hour or two. Your kids will love the playground, the many photo ops, the interactive games and-of course-the giant Ferris Wheel in the center of the store. So don't just plan to check off your errand list and grab something quickly. Bring the family and make an activity out of it! I knocked off one star for the customer service. The people downstairs at the check out are friendly-they greet everyone and make small talk. But I was disappointed upstairs in the fishing equipment area. I was unsure of what I needed, and would have loved some help. Two employees were casually talking to each other and I caught the eye of one of them and started walking toward him. Quickly, he became very busy with something making it apparent that he wasn't up for being much help. I gave it a good guess and bought what I *think* was the right item. We'll see. read more

WOW! I don't even know if I can describe this place. Two sprawling stories of every single type of sports equipment, clothing, accessories, and accouterments punctuated by large tropical fish tanks, taxidermied animals, and a ferris wheel. In a nutshell. This place is huge, I'm pretty sure you can see the building from space. I haven't taken the hours required to actually comb through this entire store, but I've walked through some parts of it, and spent the majority of my time upstairs in the firearms section. Currently their firearm stock, like everywhere else in the country, is pretty low except for very high quality, pricey secondhand guns (mostly shotguns). Branching out they've got aisles and aisles of safes, magazines, (currently empty) ammo shelves, camouflage, hunting and hiking boots, bows, targets, and everything else you could possibly ever want or need. Based upon a recommendation of a YouTuber that I follow "The Fat Electrician", I decided to visit SCHEELS Sporting Goods while I was in Jordan Utah. Imagine an Adult Disneyland with every manner of equipment for the hunter, fisherman, hiker, camper and most everything in between. I kid you not, this place is two stories tall and it has a Ferris Wheel in the middle of the store,... Did I say Disneyland? So, I went there on a mission, I was looking for batteries to power my Second Amendment, semi-automatic hole puncher amusements. Sure enough, they had what I sought after, in several different brands and calibers. The staff was very helpful and I was afraid I was going to leave there broke but happy. I remained focused and did not invest in re-loading equipment or a compound bow, yet it was very tempting to max out the credit card. If you're bored and just want to window shop or if you are on a mission, this is the place that will make things happen. I must have spent two hours there, and I vowed I will be back soon. Oh, and go there around 1PM while the diver is in the fish tank hand feeding the fish, it's a lot of fun to watch. read more

Shout out to Hunting manager George Johnson, he helped me with multiple items and answered all my questions. Lots of inventory with competitive prices. This place gets praised for their excellent customer service, but I experienced quite the opposite on my first visit. I was in Salt Lake City for the holidays and went to scheels to browse for some gifts for friends and family. I was with a few friends and we were minding our own business while trying out some of the putters in the golf section when an employee approached us and told us we needed to leave immediately. When we asked them what the issue was they didn't have an answer but only continued to press us to leave. The employee began cussing us out and threatened to call the police when we stood our ground since we hadn't done anything to warrant such rude behavior. I understand that many people have good experiences with this place, but this interaction I had makes me not want to shop here again. read more
