I have the most unpleasant in-store experience at DSW today. This morning i received an email from DSW and asked my annual DSW perk, and i had to log in to my account and made the selection ($10 dollar reward). I then went to the store in the afternoon and my wife selected a pair of ASICS shoes, which is 5 dollar more than Kohl's, Asics official site. But i think with the annual 10 dollar off, it is still a good deal. I then proceed to check out and i provided my number to the store employee Heather. She told us the final amount is xxx and we told her that we have this annual perk $10. She replied this coupon can only be used on the web or on the app. It doesn't sound like we could use that "perk" in store. So we decided not to buy the shoe. But then i double checked my email, it says i could use the "perk" in store. So i went back to that Heather and asked her if i can apply that perk to the purchase. She said "Yes" and then added "if you guys didn't walk away". WTF. We would not walk away if you asked about " do you have the email with you?". It is you, Heather, that keeps us from making that purchase. DSW should seriously think about customer service training. And with that attitude, even i could use that perk from the email, i have decided not to make the purchase this time and ever again. I will not buy anything from DSW again. Guys, one quick tip, just google the shoe you want to buy while you shoeshop at DSW, and you will find the price is usually not very competitive at DSW. Good luck! read more

I have shopped at DSW, usually with a coupon they have sent me and have left with a pretty good deal each time

I don't want to be a shoe lover-it goes against my minimalist values and lifestyle. But every time I wander into this store, I find myself mesmerized, drawn to the variety of shoes in so many styles! I love the layout of the store and how it's always neat and tidy. That goes a long way for me. If you're disciplined, you'll head past the shiny racks of new shoes and go to the clearance section. There are usually plenty of great pairs to choose from, and at a marked down price. Who can argue with that? Checkout is pleasant, I've never had to wait too long. Cashiers are friendly but not pushy and overbearing. I'll be back. But I have to follow my rule of only buying a new pair of shoes when I'm replacing another pair that I finally wore out. I had forgotten how much I love DSW's vast selection. This particular store has a great selection of children's shoes as well, which is always a challenge. The prices seem to be higher than I can find online, but they also had selections that seemed unique to DSW that I couldn't find online. I was on a MAD hunt for work shoes, since, for some odd reason, my current pair decided it didn't want to be a shoe, so the heel peeled off, and said 'f it, i'm gonna be a door stopper.' DSW was the last place I expected to come, since I never shop at warehouse stores (department stores are my thing, usually) - but not anymore! DSW had a fairly large selection of dress and casual shoes, giving my happy butt things to actually contemplate purchasing. In the end, I blew a few bills for 2 pairs of 'double takes,' in this case meaning I saw this one couple do a double take as I was strolling up and down the aisles to see how they would fair if I purchased them. Had the girl drag her man to the pairs I was struttin' and made him try it on. With that - I had to buy. Thanks for giving me a one stop shop, DSW! Wish I would've found you sooner, so I could've saved a ton of time. read more

I'm more of a clearance rack kind of guy when it comes to shoes (the uglier, the cheaper, the better) so DSW only holds magic for me every so often. But otherwise, they have a pretty wide selection of footwear that's often very trendy. They don't really go high-end, but you don't find much garbage. They're certainly not carrying knock-off brands, and they certainly don't sell and knock-off prices. So what's the deal with this location being all fancy? Not ritzy, but more like urban-meets-contemporary. There's the faux brick wall on the back, the lighting, the sign. This is the only DSW I've been to that has these features. It doesn't sell me any more shoes, but I did notice it. Would pick this place over others because of the decor? No. But it was still worth mentioning. read more

I went in tonight and found the exact shoe I had been looking, exact style, exact color, exact size, 50% off. This might seem like a lucky break, but this has happened to me several times before. And they have nice brands too. I've bought shoes online and found exactly what I wanted. My wife got really good advice from a sales person there once too. Just a great store. I don't like shopping for shoes. It's always a struggle to find shoes that fit my feet, shoes that are comfortable, and shoes in styles I like. Thankfully DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse seems to have solved many of those issues for me. First of all, DSW really is a show warehouse, the store is BIG, GRAND, HUGE! They have TONS of shoes for men, women, and children in all sizes, styles, and colors. I ended up walking out of DSW with three pairs of new shoes that I really liked. DSW FTW! read more

Everything is organized, and clean. You could spend hours there just because of the atmosphere. My favorite place to go is in the very back of the store where the discount shoes are. This DSW store is amazing. I always find this store full of fun new stuff and they have the best of the old stuff....the great selection never fails me. Sales and coupons are seemingly always available, too. That's only part of the story. The shopping experience is enhanced by the impeccable professionalism of the knowledgeable and courteous staff. I went into DSW around 1:30 today with my boyfriend. The lady who helped me try on shoes was not discouraged or annoyed that I wanted to try on more than 2 pairs. She was fast, efficient and friendly- even bubbly. I was very happy with the Reeboks cross trainers that I picked with her help. She wasn't pushy but rather interested in what I was interested in. That kind of service doesn't happen often. We spent over 200.00 and left happy. :) read more
