Removing a star because of the customer service in the fitting rooms - there was a grouchy older woman who got me into a room but made you feel guilty for using it or if the item didn't fit. Also, the fitting rooms are not roomy, neither are the isles. So if there's two people in there, it can get crowded walking by. I was standing up against the wall asking my wife for her opinion, making sure I wasn't blocking anyone when all the sudden I hear a very rude "EXCUSE ME" like I was blocking everything. There was more than enough room to go around, but she was just upset I was asking my wife for her opinion. Then a "REMEMBER if it doesn't fit put it here don't put it there". I'm fine with a reminder, but tone and body body language really play a large part in how something is communicated. This should definitely be addressed. Additionally, all the dress shirts are skinny or slim fit and mostly all blue. Not much of a variety. read more

It's my day off and I want to scope out if there are any must have shoes...of course there are. I put them in my cart and then I spy a lined plaid flannel shirt in the 50% off rack, my size... into the cart it goes... etc etc...the bathroom for men is clean. Still strolling... it's been too long and I needed the stuff I got. There! Justified... I've been a Nordstrom shopper since 1984 and the quality is readily available...it's not priced as well as other discount stores but it's high end items that may not have sold in the big store so here we go with 40-50% off regular Nordstrom store prices. I came to do a return with the intention to get other ones in my size and was immediately met with rude looks. The cashier was unfriendly and the whole interaction was uncomfortable. Being a brown person you never want to thinking the worse but needless to say I took myself to DSW next door and bought other shoes there instead. Much friendlier staff and better prices!! read more

I'm a lover of Nordstrom Rack. It's a great way to get designer clothing and accessories for a great price! I always keep an eye out for when they offer their clearance items for an additional 25% off. It takes some digging, but I usually find at least a few items I can't live without. My very favorite Nordstrom Rack was back in Virginia, but this Sandy location is the best one in this area. I've been to the Sugarhouse and Farmington locations and feel like I never find anything good there. I almost always find something here, just never know what it will be! I feel like they have the best selection of women's dresses and accessories, and children's clothing. Shoes are usually pretty good, too. It is also less busy than the Sugarhouse location, which rarely fails to annoy me. The employees are generally friendly and helpful. I normally can't find anyone to help me on the floor, but they always seem very busy, so that's excusable. You can track down someone in the fitting room if need be. Nordstrom Rack itself is 5 stars, this location is 4 stars, but that's not bad at all. read more

I will not be shopping at this Rack any longer. I tried to return a purchase with tags and receipt but was 3 days outside of the 60 day rule. Only due to a recent terminal cancer diagnosis and severe illness, I explained this to the store manager who said that if they allowed me to return this bag they would be discriminating against all the other customers that would like to make a return outside of 60 days. So I guess I see their point if all other customers have also recieved a terminal dx with severe illness to follow the purchase. 5 days prior I had major vomited and diarrhea so I'm sure they would have much rather have seen me on any of those days. Good riddance to Nordstrom Rack in Sandy. So glad to hear you stand behind your policy. read more

Nordstrom rack is doing really well for making sure you were safe while you were shopping there during this pandemic. Staff is wearing masks. They have sanitizer available. They also have traffic direction signs on the floor to make sure that you can socially distance. read more

Being from Washington State, I'm well-acquainted with Nordstrom, whose home-base is Seattle. The original concept behind the "Rack" stores was to provide outlet/clearance-type pricing ... in other words, stuff that didn't sell at the big store. Well, this has changed. More people -- especially in the Salt Lake Valley -- go to Racks, as there are more of those than regular ole Nordstrom's stores around. So, it's not really an outlet store anymore, it's a place with a mish-mash of decent prices and outrageous ones. The store is also geared more towards women. "But, Drew," you say, "most stores are geared toward women." Well, there's a lot of stores in the South Towne geared just for women (Alta, DSW, a bridal boutique, etc.) ... you're going to have a lot of bored men holding shopping bags instead of buying merch. That might be your m.o., Nordstrom Rack, but you're missing a golden opportunity. Good dress stuff for guys on one side of the store, not much in the casual area. I'll occasionally find a tie ... or dress shirt that fits, the quality is high, and some of the prices are good. Still, the Rack doesn't impress me much. read more

I would give it a zero if I could. I went there during a mini vacation and purchased a shirt. I flew out the next day. I noticed when I got back home the security tag was left on the shirt. I have tried call the location I purchased from several with their phone hanging up before even ringing. The I decided to call customer service. They didn't pick up but at least it rang. So I ended up leaving voice mail thinking someone would get back to me. I was wrong. I also emailed customer service thinking I would hear back. I was wrong again. All I wanted was a way to return the shirt or get a refund since I can not wear it with the security tag on and will not take the risk to remove it since it says it is ink filled. I just want recollection for the misstep of leaving the tag on. read more

I bought shoes on Thursday. They broke today. Im talking very light causal use. I had the receipt and went to return the faulty merchandise. They flipped them over and saw they'd been worn "outside" and wouldn't accept the return. They said they don't accept shoes returned after they've been worn outside. I said they're shoes. Shoes are for wearing outside. They said they can't resell them if they've been worn. I said you can't resell the because they are broken. They said no. Supervisor came over and said they don't accept returns for "wear and tear." I was like I bought these 3 days ago. They said no. I said whatever just throw them away I guess. They're no use to me broken. They sold me defective shoes and wouldn't let me return them. They were pristine on top and slightly dusty on bottom from a few hours of walking. And I had a receipt showing I bought them Thursday evening. I'm going to cancel my Nordstrom card. Shady business practice. read more

I bought these sneakers that lasted less than two weeks. They were probably worn a total of five times. When I tried to return them they not only refused but we're downright rude about it and acted like my son had somehow caused this. The manager was extraordinarily rude just repeating himself over and over again. He told me I couldn't return them because they have been worn. If I could give 0 stars I would. Beware of this store. Save your money and time. Very shady. The store manager Kera, needs a coaching on a couple things- 1. Learn customer service, I am an office manager myself and would have handled the situation a lot different. 2. Learn and understand your policies. It's part of your job/ position especially as a superior. I was told by Farmington Store I could return a fragrance. The cashier and the S/M at the Sandy location advised me fragrance is final sale. No where does it say "fragrance is final sale" no where in the policy. I called the Farmington location and talked to their S/M and they advised me I was in the RIGHT. They do REFUND fragrance. I am shocked of the way she handled it. I would like a response and apology from the S/M Kera. Unacceptable and rude. Left me very uncomfortable, and I do not appreciate being told different things when they are the same company and have the same rules. read more

The Rack sure racks up all the quality products that one would find in a actual nordstrom store. The even better thing is that i felt that i found more products at wayyy better deals than in a actual nordstorm store. The thing to note is the prices in this nordstorm is $$ not $$$$ one would associate typically with nordstorm and that usually means a larger customer base. The USP of nordstorm rack is undoubtedly the quality and brands of products it offers from steven madden to nike but at a very reasonable price and thrown in some deals on top and suddenly this turns out to be a really good option for people to purchase their clothes and accessories. The thing to note though is unlike the real nordstorm store, the rack is more a clearance center and hence the products here are just that ie out for clearance and hence the great deals on them but if you are in a hurry to shop, then this probably is not the right place for you as while prices are good , it does take time to find the products you are looking for since being a clearance center the products are not exactly displayed and can seem busy and maybe occasionally overwhelming for the impatient buyer, but if you are prepared to search for your product, especially handbags etc, you may have a greater chance of finding it. The other thing to note is also the fact that being a clearance center , some of the products here can appear jaded just by being in clearance for a tad bit too long and hence might look like a used product and not exactly likely to be the first pick choice of majority of customers looking to buy something new. But if you can look past the busy product display, the occasional worn looking products taking into account it being a clearance center , then you have a really good clothes and accessory shop with great options as well as with the nordstorm brand behind it aided by solid pricing which has the makings of a good selling point combination for a business and hence the 4 stars. read more

The Rack, as it's affectionately (?) called by devotees. I'm not sure I'd ever fall into any sort of nickname habit with it (I reserve that for The Sev - Seven-Eleven) but that's probably because I'm not much of a Nordstrom fella. Those feelings aside, I can say without doubt or hesitation that this location is much more enjoyable to shop than it's older sister in Sugar House. Whereas the Sugar House location makes me a little tired.. well.. this one makes me tired, too, but that's a function of it being a clearance-y center where you have to work twice as hard to save half the price. But this one makes me less tired. As it's a clearance center, please note: You should look carefully at the item you're buying. Inspect with care. What they got is what they got. Just keep looking, and if it's not there, it's not there. They're not going to have everything you want. Your patience will eventually be rewarded. Eventually. Probably. Prices are lower, but this is still Nordstrom, not Savers. read more

Located in the same plaza as Petsmart (2 doors down from them specifically). I came by this location about an hour ago with my husband. Unfortunately I did not find anything on this visit. I was disappointed with their handbag section. There was definitely a lack of high end designer brands. Same with the clothing and shoe selection. I am not sure if this location is always like this or if I came on a day that they just didn't have anything good, but I probably wouldn't make a special trip to come back out here (especially if I come back to Utah in the future). But I do want to mention one good thing about this place is that it wasn't crowded and had a laid back, relaxed vibe. Definitely a different change from the other Nordstrom Rack in Salt Lake City. read more

I have never returned an item because it is defective but after purchases a pair of shoes from this store and only wearing the a few times the strap broke. After trying to return the defective shoe I was told because they had been purchased longer than 45 days ago they could not return them. I would bump it up a star if employees helped me or if the racks weren't so packed that I couldn't see the dresses or wrestle them out to try on. Ridiculous. I asked one female employee for help choosing a graduation dress for my high school daughter--she just said I should be able to find something on my own. Thanks for nothing. Was helped by a checker named, Solangel, she was so rude and snotty to me trying to return something. And then other associates up front were whispering about me and talking about how she didn't want to put her id pin in because I was returning something barely over their 60 day policy. I felt very uncomfortable and not welcomed there at all! The manager came and was so nice didn't even think twice or give me a hard time at all. Much cleaner and more organized than other Nordstrom Racks I've been to. They even had a rare sale on their designer jeans, 25% off. Yes, I think I will. I also got some killer deals on Smashbox Make-up kits which I love! This is a new location so I'm sure that's part of the reason for its perfectly lined shoes and spot free carpeting. However because of it's new arrival, it seems to be a bit under the radar. This place is empty compared to the location in Sugar House (which is a mad house 7 days a week). I wish I lived in SLC just so I could frequent this Nordstrom Rack regularly. read more

I can usually find what I'm looking for-- in style pieces at a fraction of the price you'd pay at Nordstrom. Man it sucks this Rack is clear in Sandy....the one nearest me is in Sugarhouse and it's a nightmare. This one is so nice, and quiet, clean and organized. Just alike it's other location, the staff is sparse, and unhelpful, but at least you can get into a dressing room. I only wish they had more of the "designer shoes" on the shelves that come and go there from time to time, cause I do adore my Coach shoes. Whenever I come here looking for something specific, I inevitably leave disappointed and empty-handed. But when I come here all willy-nilly like, with no particular need in mind I end up carting out armfuls of delightful treasures. I think that's the trick to discount grab-bag stores like Nordstrom Rack. You'll never find anything you absolutely need when you need it. Especially in the color and size you require. But when you run onto that special item (or twelve) that you just know you're going to need someday, and then you really do end up needing it someday, it's a magical moment. They have some nice clothes here for men and women alike. You'll find a small and intermittent selection of clothing brands like AX, Fendi, O'Neill, Vera Wang, Burberry, and Patagonia. My favorite aspect of this NR location is that it's so much better organized and maintained than the Sugarhouse store. (That place is dangerous - I've very nearly lost limbs when grappling for the same items as the east-side mercenaries that frequent that location. They should provide an InstaCare staff, and give out bonus crutches with purchase.) This does not, however, equate to abundant or above average customer service. Aside from cashiers, staff here is pretty null and void. The prices aren't always what I would call low. But they're significantly lower than you'll pay at full retail. I found a pair of Edelman wedge pumps for $90. The original tag stated $260. So, it's like that. They also carry a few brands I've never heard of at reasonable *every day* prices. But if you're like me, you don't necessarily trust brands you've never heard of because fit is crucial. And I know which brands tend to fit me well. It's all a crapshoot when you venture outside the brand comfort zone with clothes. I'm not a big fan of trying on clothes here. So I rely heavily on the familiar. One big wish is that they'd carry longer-length jeans and slacks in the better brands. Speaking as someone with a 36" inseam, it's a huge problem finding pants of any kind that are long enough. Nordstrom regular doesn't even carry them, so I guess it's unreasonable to expect their clearance stores to. But, it would be so much cooler if they did. From time to time, you can find great deals on makeup, fragrance, and personal care products, like Philosophy, Fekkai, Givenchy, and Kevyn Aucoin. Be sure to check the packaging for breaches, leaks and damage, which is one reason these products end up here in the first place. If you're in the market for these types of items, you'd better be here weekly, if not daily. This stuff goes as fast as a Ferrari Enzo. read more

Wow, Nordstrom Rack has gotten a bit pricey! I used to love The Rack for their bargain-basement prices and deals. Now the prices ain't what they used to be with really minor discounts on their merchandise. The store is neat and clean and is organized in a slightly confusing manner -- I still can't figure out some of the displays. Lots of dressing rooms and plenty of parking out front. I do like that there are usually lots of size 10 and up women's shoes (I guess ladies in Utah have petite feet), so if you are a fellow big-footed gal, check this place out. read more

From the 2 Nordstrom Racks in Salt Lake Valley, this one is by far better looking than the one in Sugar House. As far as Shoes and sunglasses goes, I think Sugar House has a better variety, but in everything else, this one is better. But even with that advantage, I'm just never fully convinced about this store. If you are looking to look great for cheap it will be hard, but if you are looking for normal items, like t-shirts, or gym clothes, then this is the place to be. It's a fun store, and you can always find gems, especially the designer jeans. A lot cheaper than in the actual Nordstrom. read more

I have been to this one and the one in Sugarhouse, I like this one better. Definitely better maintained, much easier to shop shoes for kids. I was shopping for an outfit for my 2 year old for an upcoming wedding. We had already found pants, but he needed an nice shirt and shoes. We found am adorable button down shirt with tie and some awesome Sperry top sider shoes. The shoes weren't the greatest deal, but he'll wear them other places. I have to say - when I called they giggled. I somehow managed to leave to store with 2 left shoes. Oh and flew back to NJ. When I called they were so polite. Even though I left with 2 shoes!!!
