One of the differences as opposed to California is that they carry Stiletto Knives, Also Known As CIA Gravity Knives. They are approximately 4.5 inches long and the blade deploys and retracts from the grip using a dual throw (Forward and Back) button or switch. Very cool! Don't worry California, I did not buy one, as cool as they are. Yup, all of the fun stuff is illegal in California, like butterfly knives, Stilettos and firearms with the "Fun Button" (Safe-Semi-Auto) on them. Sigh! One light at the end of the tunnel was "Jerry". Be nice to Jerry, he is a cool guy but if you get on his nerves, that's on you. All I can say is that he has seen some stuff and he may be the definition of "F" around and find out. Jerry is very knowledgeable and he pointed my nephew in the direction of the perfect tactical backpack, among other accessories and toys that will compliment his new career in federal law enforcement. I did not buy much, except for a memorable patch. I get one from each 5.11 I visit, just to say "Been there, my dude!" Overall, it is a large store with a lot of selection. If you are looking for some discounted or marked down winter ware, now is the time to check it out. I found a neat jacket, however I live in the Sweltering Summer portion of California and triple digit temperatures are less than a month away. So, I passed on the jacket. However, if you are Military, Law Enforcement, EMS, Fire Department, Practical Pistol Shooter, Multi-Platform (Pistol & Long Gun) competitor, or a First Responder of any kind and you need boots, pants, "Shorts", a tactical carrier (No Ballistic Plates are sold here, to my knowledge), morale patches, a quick snap tourniquet or some gym attire,... I started buying Athleta clothing within the past year, and will be a customer forever because of places like this and their customer service, as well as the quality of their pieces. Everything I've purchased at Athleta has been such good quality, including their leggings that I literally wear almost ever single day and wash often. None of the leggings I've purchased have lost their quality with multiple washes and wears. I've been here several times this year and the staff is so friendly and helpful, and great at helping you find things that will look good on you. If you're ever trying anything on in at this location, they'll be your personal hype squad. I bought a pair of cargo pants here earlier this year - in a color I would've never picked out on my own, and a style that I never thought would look good on me. The employee who picked them out for me basically encouraged me to trust the process, and they ended up looking amazing on me. It's a well lit, clean store with an amazing team of people. Parking during peak hours can sometimes be tricky because they share the parking lot with several other businesses, but I've always been able to find a spot.

I was greeted by Corbin on the phone and he was so pleasant and helpful, he let me know they did have what I was looking for so I rushed over to pick them up. Once there, Corbin helped me find the correct size, showed me other options as well, and asked if I needed boot cleaner to help maintain my new pair. He was so kind the entire interaction and I was so impressed with his customer service. Not to mention, this store does not just have boots. They have a TON of cute women's (and men's) clothing and I will definitely be going back to pick up my next concert outfit. The boots I got have been amazing. City Creek is no different, and on my most recent visit one girl in particular (whose name I unfortunately neglected to ask) was especially great, fetching various sizes and articles of clothing for me, and offering tips to ensure the best fit on some jeans. And that's what Madewell is really all about. All their clothing is fab: classic, mostly simple, comfortable, and flattering, but their denim is about as close as you can get to the Holy Grail of jeans. They fit so perfectly and are made so well (ha!). Seriously, though. It's dreamy as can be. They also offer a few bath and body products, candles, cards, accessories, and simple, modern jewelry. It's worth joining their (free) rewards program for various special sales and gifts. I especially like this location for it's size and generous selection. If you've never been to Madewell this is an excellent introduction to the brand, and if you are already a fan this will likely be your favorite store.
