Great take out, Pho lasted me two days! Great tasting and consistent every time I've been at Coba.

Visit date: 3/25 at 3pm. What an excellent spot! The interior is like Seattle diner contemporary. I was immediately greeted and seated. I had the crispy rolls and lemongrass pork chop. Such delights! I was expecting the rolls to be longer in size, but they're bite size which honestly made them easier to eat and dip in the fish sauce. The texture was also a bit unexpected. It was like a soft crisp but definitely crispy. Flavor was delicious! The pork chop came with pho broth, the most pleasant surprise as that's not the norm at other Vietnamese spots. Not to mention, the broth was on point with flavor! I'll be going back to try their pho now :-) Two chops FULL of flavor which made it hard to stop eating them. Great with rice or wrapped in lettuce with cucumber and tomato. The veggies were so fresh tasting, loved that. Grilled pork bahn mi was good, and I enjoyed the pho soup it came with. The vermicelli sautéed lemongrass chicken with green papaya noodles (low carb) was surprisingly good! The bun bo hue was disappointing though; I've definitely had better elsewhere. The noodles were over cooked and soft. The broth for the noodles was good though, though not as spicy as I've had at other places. It honestly tasted more like regular pho. I think the best I've had at COBA was the crispy rolls though. We arrived during a rush before an Eagles concert and had to wait more than 40 minutes for a seat, but it was worth the wait. The Dungeness crab rangoons were the best thing we had, but the beef rib pho and lemongrass chicken also hit the spot. It's hard to compare pho, but this place comes out near the top. Fried banana and mango ice cream was a nice final ending to the meal! They've got a bit of a staffing problem as our wait times were significantly added upon by the lack of staff to bus tables, but it was a concert rush during a COVID staffing shortage, so we get it. We were looking for some quick hearty food to tide us over midday after exploring downtown/tourist attractions. COBA has great reviews, and oh man...it was delicious! COBA is super easy to find from the main street, we walked here so I'm not sure about the parking sitch. They only have indoors seating, and there's so many types of seats from large picnic table style to tables for two or one. We came right in the middle of the day, so there weren't many people around, it felt very safe and distanced. The restroom is super clean too! Let's talk FOOD. I wish the calamari was less tempura batter texture and more crunchy fried style deep fried. HOWEVER, the calamari was tasty with their sweet n sour sauce. I love the Vietnamese twist to it! Their banh mi bread is SO fresh and the perfect amount of fluffy crisp when you bite into it. They give huge portions, so we felt very satisfied splitting these items for two. They have a good capacity for fairly large groups and the atmosphere is both cozy and trendy at the same time. It also has a great menu, but unfortunately few things went wrong in our order. Someone in our party said they were a vegan but were served an entree with dairy. To be fair, they didn't ask about each ingredient but they had made clear that they were looking for a vegan entree so it was surprising the waiter let them order the tofu lemongrass banh mi without telling them the special sauce had dairy. Another person in our party asked for the shrimp banh mi without pate, but it came looking exactly like another person's shrimp banh mi *with* pate. So something was wrong there too-- again with consequences for dietary restrictions. The shrimp banh mi also didn't have very much shrimp on it (I think four pieces per sandwich) so I can't really recommend it too highly. The fries and broth that came with were great! But I would order something else, if I were to come back. read more

A bit of a spontaneous decision to go here but still had a pretty solid experience. This Vietnamese restaurant is a bit of a bougie tech-salary priced place with fancy, somewhat romantic ambience. I got the oxtail pho which has quite tender meat although it was slightly overcooked. Noodles were quite standard and similarly the broth, but I did enjoy the meal as I had a loooot of bad Vietnamese food lately during my travels (you'd know what I mean if you have priority pass at Sea-Tac airport). This reignites my enjoyment of Vietnamese food overall, especially the pork broken rice dish my friend got which I sampled. That meat is very flavorful and the slight addition of the fish sauce really enhances the true flavor of the dish. I'd definitely get that dish if I do come back. Overall, the food is on par to other Vietnamese places in the city, but docking off a star as there really isn't something that sets apart this place that I can go to a local authentic pho place for half the price. We got the prawn fresh rolls as our appetizer. The roll met our expectations. The peanut sauce was delicious, however we added sriracha to give the sauce an extra kick. My segsy date got the chicken pho and replaced the typical rice noodles with zucchini noodles, suggested by our lovely server. "Replacing the rice noodles with the zucchini noodles gave me the delicious taste from a typical rice noodle pho without feeling bloated after finishing my meal." The serving size of her pho was plentiful enough to fill her up without having room to finish the rest. Not to mention, she did have one salad roll prior to having the pho. I had the COM sautéed lemongrass chicken. I ordered oxtail and steak pho along with crispy rolls as my appetizer. The oxtail was super tender and fell right off the bone. They gave a good portion of meat. I like the noodles are slightly smaller or thinner. The soup had good flavor but it got salty halfway through, even adding the lime juice didn't help. I like the crisp of the rolls and flavorful fillings. I was dining by myself so I sat by the windows. The bar top/table where I was sitting was super sticky. The server came to get my order then never checked on me until they gave me the check. I would've appreciated more water and extra napkins. read more

The restaurant interior is quite spacious with seating that gives enough walkway to walk from the door to the bathroom. Options to sit along the wall, or to sit on high chairs or at the bar. Today we ordered the Pho Coba and the Charred Lemongrass pork over vermicelli noodles. In my opinion, they do a great job at cooking and seasoning the meat and this applies to both the pho and the bun(noodles). For the pho, portion size was great and the quantity of meat given was good as the pho coba comes with a beef rib with meat that comes off the bone instantly. Soup doesn't taste like much without the lime. For the bun, the green beans were undercooked but overall it was satisfactory. For the Seattle area so far, this is good pho. Originally from Vietnam, I was excited for the Vietnamese food scene in Seattle. Bonus point is that this place opens late and the hot bowl of soup hit super different after a long hike. Unfortunately, everything here was seasoned very sweet for my taste. - Bun Bo Hue: 3/5. Not as flavorful as a Bun Bo Hue should be. It is kind of spicy but the noodles were slightly too soft. - Banh Khot: 3/5. The Banh Khot was crispy with strong coconut flavor. Fish sauce is way too sweet. - Co Ba Pho: 3.5/5. The beef rib was very tender and tasty. Huge portion too. The flavor isn't as deep but overall a good pho. - Com Tam: 2.5/5. Again, too sweet! The broken rice is pretty authentic but everything else on the plate was relatively mediocre. The pork chop is tender but I do think the fish sauce requires more acidity. The yam fries are insanely delicious! I've never had anything like it before and the sauce was the perfect pairing. The coba pho had lots of meat, and the broth was very flavorful. Personally, I think the broth could have used slightly more acidity, so I'm going to give it a 7.5/10. Landed at Coba by accident. We intended to go to another restaurant before a concert we attended at Climate Pledge. When we walked in the place was not full but we could easily tell they were short staffed or couldn't handle the rush. Lots of restaurants in the area were full due to the concert. We were in a group of 6. We used their kiosk they have by the main door. We were seated within 10 minutes. Customer service was ok. Like I said before they were overwhelmed. I noticed they had a ton of to go orders piling up on their shelves. We only noticed 2 servers with 1 bartender. Food options are wonderful. Everything you would crave. We ordered our food and drinks and didn't have to wait long for our food. Food was absolutely delicious. Flavors were just perfection!!! I could rave about their food alll day. We never got our drinks though. We had finished our food and never got our drinks. The bartender was chatting it up with the people sitting at the bar. He was very slow in making drinks which would explain why we never got our drinks. It's okay. Lucky for us our food was delicious. The broth that came with our sandwiches was addicting. My advice to the restaurant would be to get a calendar with all the date that the arena has events and add more staff on those days to avoid these issues. I know we were not the only ones looking around. We have a few more events in the next months at the arena and we will be going back for the food. My husband even works close by and mentioned he will get lunch here soon. Would have given the 5 stars easily if we would have gotten our drinks. We recommend you give this place a try. We stopped here for some food before the game. I am not sure what other Vietnamese spots are around the area, but I think the food is just ok. If you are craving Vietnamese and there is nothing around, this would be a good spot. We ordered beef rib pho, lemon pork vermicelli, and the Fried Pancakes. Portions are definitely generous, but I definitely had better. I also ordered the cucumber basil lemonade, and it was so sweet that it was like drinking sugar water. The service was terrible. They give you water but would never check on you afterward to see if you are ready to order, ask how things are going, if you need other items, or to drop the check off. When you try to flag someone down, it's impossible since no one makes eye contact. We tried to sit at the bar, but they mentioned that they didn't serve food there. I think some signage would be helpful since there isn't a host to greet anyone in the front. After looking around, I noticed the reason since there isn't a dedicated person working the bar. The front of the house is everywhere, and if this can be better, the dining experience would be better. Very minor note is that the long bench is highly uncomfortable to sit and eat. The bench is sloped backwards and if you are lounging back to chat that's fine but you will need to constantly move to the edge in order to eat. read more

The fried rolls were somewhat forgettable but the lettuce wraps were tangy and crunchy and worth splitting an order with someone. So it looks like a sports bar or just a typical bar if you were walking by. But I was actually looking for Vietnamese restaurant around lower Queen Anne for pre show quick dinner. If you look closely, there is a restaurant section. So the service is slow and had a small minor challenges with the communication with wait staffs. Also the crowd is varied. The family who were sitting next to me was very obnoxious. The parents allowed the son to watch something on laptop and the pho got cold. The father asked the waiter to microwave his cold soup because he was watching a show. The daughter was in and out of table all over. The son was yelling and the mother told him to be quiet. The rest of the conversation was in Chinese so I did not understand but all was very annoying. The spicy pho was delicious. The lychee martini less sweet was full on sweet. Very confusing experience. I think I would like to come back here for quick lunch or quick dinner. Very loud and noisy place overall. The price is decent. Loved the pho broth but hated the soft noodle. read more

Vibe: This is definitely a modern pho place. Doesn't give an authentic feel, but its cool and has lights to add to the ambiance. Location: I didn't see a parking garage or space, we did street parking. It's near a lot of other cafes, restaurants, and bars so it's definitely a great area to check out! I really wanted Vietnamese food and it was late so I only really had a few choices so I went with coba. But I will not make the mistake of assuming the food might be better this time around, again. I ordered the lemongrass bun with steak and the steak texture was indistinguishable from a piece of squid. I'm not exaggerating it tasted like chewing on a piece of rubber it was an inedible. In addition to that the noodles were over cooked and the lemongrass flavor was hard to find anywhere. I cannot recommend unless it's for the crispy rolls. Those are consistently good. read more

The highlights-the food! It was bright, colorful, and super tasty. I grabbed the lemongrass steak Bun. Crispy Chicken rolls and the torte with shrimp off the appetizer menu. Once ordered the food came out super fast, will have to add this to my rotation pre Kraken meals. The only thing to gripe about was we were sat first and two other tables sat after us over a 10 min span. They both had their order taken first and their food delivered first,, but that was the only quip I had. A quick note for the team when giving change, break down larger bills so we can give you a better tip. Food tip: the table next to me had the pterodactyl Pho or maybe it was beef rib. Ordered takeout on DoorDash, got my food within 20 minutes! I got the delicious beef short rib pho with meatballs add-on and extra veggies. Total cost was $23 before tax ($15 pho, $3 meatballs, $3 veggies). The add-ons were reasonably overpriced. Food arrived warm, and tasted great after assembling & reheat. The noodles were dry and tangled but got better after being heated in the broth. Given the takeout situation that's understandable. And their Mango salad with Shrimp is so refreshing - juicy mangoes with fresh shrimps, cilantro, basil, red bell peppers and a garnish of sesame. Such a well thought recipe !! Chicken ban mi sandwich was just ok. I like my Ban Mi spicy so I should have asked for extra jalapeños in there, perhaps will do it next time. Not to mention that the bread was soft, freshly baked !! I wish I could give Côba more than five stars! It's one of the best Vietnamese places I've ever been! I had lunch here with my mum. We had the calamari, mango and tofu salad, wrapped prawns, and veggie print rolls. It was all absolutely delicious and all GLUTEN FREE! If you are gluten free and you miss fried food (I miss calamari soooo much!) then I highly recommend going here! They indicate on the menu which items are gluten free and there are so many choices! Trendy little Viet Bistro with Full Bar in lower Queen Anne, 300 ft from our hotel. Quality produce, love the Vietnamese white mural on brick wall, there's a bar TV showcasing Vietnamese street scenes and food close ups, and good energy for ambience with folks waiting for tables at 8PM when we left, while a 1/3 full when we arrived just after 6PM. Drinks: Nicely affordable cocktails, a little inventive and not all sweet centric as so many Asian bars tend to veer to, $10 for a great Manhattan, colored Maraschino served up. Tops out $12 incl the special that night featuring Jameson with cab wine, so $5 for kinda warm traditional Viet coffee steeped over glass mug, barely half full, was stiff. Pineapple juice was only $3 for iced pint and $5 for can of local WA Kombucha, Guyusa Mint filled a pint and sprig of fresh mint was a nice touch. One of the best brews I've tried too. Mains: Steak Bahn Mi $12 was on the sweeter side but Hubby still liked it, about 3 thicker pcs each half, seared rarer which he really prefers in a very crisp baguette, and a small portion of peppery salt fries that were super crave worthy. Side of broth was bland and tepidly barely warm. My chicken pho $12 should of been a lot hotter on a chilling 44 deg PM, there was no stream of visible steam as it was delivered, so had to quickly get basil and sprouts in to heat through, and also lacked depth of flavor. Asked for white pepper, only black available, soy and fish sauce which the server happily brought enquiring about taste and I addressed lack of heat too which she'd check into with the kitchen. There was a ton of lovely tender chicken breast and a perfectly gooey egg however and with the extra sauces I added, definitely made the bowl yum worthy. We missed what looked like a great Happy Hour with lots of plates $5+ and $7 house cocktails. I'd return to check it out along with their Small Plates menu. 3.5 stars read more

This place is sooo good! I came here for dinner around 530 on Saturday. Our server was helpful in helping us decide and recommend dishes. The menu is quite expansive and can be overwhelming. My group ordered the veggie spring rolls and tofu salad for appetizers. I got the beef rib pho which was good but would probably get the beef pho next time to avoid the hassle with the gigantic ribs. Everything was so delicious but especially the appetizers. If I had more stomach space I would've wanted to try more of the appetizers. Tried this spot out after it being on my list for years before a sporting event nearby. Most surprising was the little pho dip that came with the steak banh mi. Oh my. So flavorful and it was the highlight of the meal. Also love the crinkle fries with pretty aggressively seasoned fries. The eggplant dish was also pretty rad - I'll be thinking about that one for a while. The calamari was standard - nothing that stood out positively or negatively. The only thing that was disappointing of this experience was the passion fruit cocktail - did not taste much of passion fruit but rather mostly of orange juice. Service was relatively slow but we were seated in the back area and it was right before an event. All in all, I'll definitely be back for the eggplant and will be trying the pho! read more

The roast chicken pho is by far one of the best pho I've had in the area. This place has become my local favourite. I keep going here for my comfort food- their roast chicken pho. The price and quantity is perfect. Their portion sizes are slightly large. The fries they gave with the banh mi sandwich was amazing and I'm not even a big fan of fries. The banh mi was really yummy too. I also love the ambiance. It's super neat and cozy and fun to hangout. They also have some fun looking drinks.
