I was excited to check out this cute and good neighborhood bakery, but I didn't find it outstanding enough for me to go out of my way to return. I tried a special open-faced egg sandwich on foccacia, which was very tasty. The egg was perfectly runny. The dark chocolate brownie was very rich; the concord grapes were an interesting touch, but I would've appreciated more black sesame (the flavor didn't really come through for me and was overpowered by the brownie itself). It was a bit hard and dry on the outside, but the inside was still moist. Other pastries and sweets looked good and very tempting, but I didn't get to try today. read more

Best cold brew in Williamsburg. Get the mini sausage roll, it's unreal. They also give my dog treats all the time.

Place is nice, food is good too, however staff is really cunning. As there's ipad tipping on the counter (you select the amount and then you have to sign), I was tricked into pay the highest amount of tip. The server punched in before turning the ipad to me, and I did notice that, but left it as is and decided to write a Yelp review later on. What they're doing is dishonesty at it's finest. You can be the best place on Earth, if you're tricking your customers like that, you will really soon have a bsd reputation. Super cute coffee shop! I always stop by here after workout at Session and get a flat white. Their flat white is always consistent !! It is kinda on the pricy side for coffee but it's worth it! This place is a hidden gem. Located down the block from the pedestrian sign for the entrance to The Williamsburg Bridge. Outdoor seating is really nice with wooden seats and tables; Great for taking awesome photos. The desserts and refreshments are very pleasing. All the staff however were pretty standoffish, unwelcoming, didn't smile and did not seem interested in our questions the day we went. Not sure if they were having a terrible day, but if you work in customer service it is important to make your guests feel welcome. Frankly, it made all of us uncomfortable. I discovered Butler after they graciously donated coffee to all runners running and raising money for Australia worth ReliefRun. I quickly returned two days later with my mom, aunt and grandma. It was the perfect group to be able to sample a bit of everything. It was WORTH it! EVERY THING tasted fresh, warm, home and lovingly made. Yes, you can taste love in food! The veggie breakfast empanadas were a heavenly taste of breakfast- scramble eggs, cheddar in a buttery flaky dough. I could eat 4 in one sitting. The braised beef short ribs wrap had a touch of spicy but were the perfect combination of short rib and butternut squash. The Asian pear salad was light, crisp and delicious. The roasted cauliflower pita was healthy and tasty. The mini sausage rolls make you want to lick your fingers. A perfect size and taste. To top it off we had the olive oil muffin. Wow! And best of all was the incredibly attentive service and gracious staff. They were so nice to my family and treated us to an extra roll. My ladies were so happy to have lunch where the 'youngsters' eat. We shall have to return to eat everything else on the memu. read more

Lovely little bakery near Domino Park. I came by after a long afternoon of reading in the sun, and after some deliberation, got the sticky date muffin. I wasn't that hungry and wanted something smaller, but I also appreciate that a lot of their pastries are pretty big (like, bigger than my hand). The really nice girl at the register heated up my muffin and I ate it at one of the outdoor tables - the muffin was amazing. Really rich and buttery, but not overwhelmingly sweet. I LOVE this coffee shop. To start off, they have such friendly and welcoming staff. It is so conveniently located next to several apartment complexes, including my own. I always find time to travel to Butler rather than another coffee shop. Even with so many new cafes opening these days, my go to is always Butler. I am very critical of coffee (I blame my parents ), but the coffee is incredible. Everything that I have ever ordered has been so delicious. Today I tried something new and had a oat milk cappuccino. I really liked the breakfast empanada (eggs, smoked bacon, arugula, cheddar cheese and topped with dukkah) and morning glory muffin (carrot, coconut, pineapple, passionfruit with cream cheese icing). I was also pleasantly surprised to find that the sticky bun was not overly sweet - possibly due to the mix of miso with the toffee. There are still some items on the menu that I want to try - the herb & chili scone, savory pumpkin muffin, Thai spiced pastie and sausage roll! Well, I love coffee and am super fussy about it. Barrista knew his stuff and the beans were great - no sugar needed as they are perfectly roasted with no bitterness. Our party of 4 enjoyed a breakfast pastry, scones, the couscous salad and the BLT. All were excellent. Pastries were crisp and buttery. Staff all friendly. They were relaxed about having our 7year old and 10year old there. Happy to give extra straws etc. I also love the design of the place - great colours and textures - checkout the wall paper in the loo! They are so cute I ordered a latte and avocado toast. The latte was amazing, coffee was fresh. Only regret was it was too cold. Saw this on a blogger's Instagram and being a bakery lover, I had to try. First impression: went on a weekday morning so only two people were making use of the space (which I was fine with), gorgeous interiors, specifically the tile and gold accents of the tables already makes this an Instagram-worthy scene. Pastries behind the glass all looked way too small, but I have to remember that the owner is a Michelin-star chef, so it's about the quality not necessarily the quantity After trying it: I got one of their morning scones, which was dense and buttery, a real treat compared to most that just crumble all over you. You can tell it's baked with fresh herbs and the dusted sea salt on top was a nice touch and balance of flavor. Coffee is from a local vendor so nothing to brag about that. My one qualm is that they didn't have any coffee sleeves, so I pretty much burned my hand carrying my coffee to the train. Despite them having take-out window, I would be more inclined to dine-in, considering the pastries are a work of art themselves and deserve to be parceled out, rather than scarfed down on your commute.
