Recently, I discovered the second floor of this cafe and it's a hidden gem! It's typically less crowded and doesn't contain the smells of the first level, and has a big tables. The service is friendly and coffee drinks are served pretty quick. We ordered quiches one fall morning and though they could have been hotter in temperature, the flavors were good. We tried the seasonal caramel corn lattes and they were pretty sweet but good if you like things sweet! I've ordered sandwiches (good) and their signature cookies many times and you can't go wrong. I was in the area and decided to grab a quick snack with friends. The place is on the smaller side with a few picnic style tables inside. The service is friendly and they have answers to any questions you may have about the menu. The amount of pastries are overwhelming. They all look so great. The sandwiches construction was a bit problematic. Everything was falling out with every bite but the saving grace was the taste. I enjoyed my fresh squeezed grapefruit juice and my friends enjoyed their coffees. Next time I will opt for a nice pastry or even the overnight oats looked great. I felt bad opening my laptop in such a beautiful place, but I was welcomed by the staff to stay a while. On my way to the doctor, I came across this cute bakery. What called me in was the cute bunny designs and reminded me a secret garden. It was almost 6pm so there wasn't much pastries left but they were beautifully displayed and I ended up getting the last Nutella Brownie and a Chocolate Mocha Tea Cup. The Tea Cup was so moist and had the most tasty icing that I couldn't help myself from eating all of it first. The Nutella Brownie was a bit dry but still satisfied my chocolate craving. Every time I am visiting my dear friend in Brooklyn, we order in from Maman. And there is a reason why...their turkey, cheddar & dijon breakfast roll. People, it is on a brioche pastry - are you kidding me? And I am a huge sucker for a lemon poppy seed loaf - it took me two days to eat mine, and I savored every single bite. We have also had their granola parfait, their turkey sandwich, and of course their Maman's nutty chocolate chip cookie (which is also known as one of Oprah's faves). The Matcha Latte was ok, a bit chalky for my taste, and was not sweetened as requested... but nothing simple syrup or sugar couldn't fix. The highlight was definitely the Pistachio Croissant, the croissant itself was buttery and flakey, and the pistachio cream filling had a nice texture and was not overly sweet. Review for seasonal drinks only: Drinks were approximately $7/one - Cherry limeade matcha soda: drink seemed like watered down matcha with a hint of real cherry puree flavor with bubbles. I thought this drink was soso. - Pink Guava Mint lemonade: this drink was way too Tart and not worth $7. It was like 80% lemon juice (didn't taste like lemonade at this point more like straight up lemon juice) and 20% guava. The mint was just an accent piece on the top. Way too acidic. Steer clear of this drink. I typically love anything guava but this drink is definitely a no no. I also didn't like that they gave us paper straws or only had paper straws as the straw got soggy and bent really quick. On a sidenote, the pastries behind the counter looked amazing. Their options of pastry were in a great variety and our favorites were their Almond Croissant and Quiche Daisy, especially the texture of Quiche, which was creamy and soft inside with crispy crust. The staff was friendly but just a little slow and unfamiliar with all the process when there was a long line. We were there at about 9am with no line and the service looked smooth. Cute cafe on Kent! The "Katie sandwich" was absolutely perfect, from the crunchy bread and spiced grilled chicken to the simple side salad with a berry vinaigrette. I'll definitely be returning to try the beautiful quiches and pastries displayed through the glass counter. For drinks, I just got a black Americano, and it was decent. Maman has a good amount of seating inside (and, it looks like, outside, though that section wasn't set up today, as it's especially chilly out). Service was friendly and super quick. The food: White Chocolate Raspberry Rose Cookie- I think this was a special for the day but I thought this cookie was awesome, it was my fav of all the cookies. I thought it was nice and fluffy with a nice raspberry flavor. Nutty Chocolate Chip Cookie- This was the main reason I came to visit, overall it was a Ok cookie, I was shocked they used whole pieces of Macadamia nuts and the flavor worked nicely but I felt the cookie came off rather sweet even though there was a good amount of salt. White Chocolate Pretzel Cookie- This was my least favorite mainly because it was so sweet. The texture of the cookie was nice but I couldn't get over the sweetness. read more

Maman Greenpoint is a delightful and rustic cafe in a great area of Brooklyn. The inside is definitely very insta-worthy and charming. When you walk in, you go to the counter to order your food. From there, your cashier/barista, will give you a number and when your food and beverage are ready, it will be brought to you. I had the lavender hot chocolate, and a portobello mushroom panini. I adored the lavender hot chocolate. The lavender was not overwhelming, and really helped bring out some of those chocolately flavors. If I had to say what was the one thing you had to order when at Maman, it would have to be this hot beverage. The mushroom panini was very good, I really liked the chili spread as a condiment, but I can't say it's a must when ordering lunch here. If I were to come again, I would like to try a different sandwich. Overall the service is great, as are the food and beverage. The actual pancakes were not fluffy- instead they were very dense and dry. Sad pancakes. The pecan pretzel crumble was delicious tho. The drip iced coffee was really tasty & the presentation of the actual dish was really pretty. The counter service was friendly. But I won't be returning in a hurry after spending $20 and not finishing my breakfast.
