I'm always a fan of Burlington. This particular store is fairly big. It's organized enough but not as organized as some of the other stores. They have a fitting room but sometimes it's closed, not sure why or if it just happened to be closed few times when I was there. Overall their prices are excellent and they have a good variety so I will keep coming back! read more

I see that this location has gotten a lot of bad reviews but I have not had any issues at this location. The only bad part about this location is that there is no layaway option here. Customer service is ok. Selection can improve. Lines are not always long. The shopping center has plenty of parking. If Cerritos, Compton or Pico Rivera are too far I would consider this location as a recommendation. FYI Burlington is one of my favorite places to shop!! read more

This is for whoever applies to *this* Burlington, don't. I worked as a Seasonal Sales Associate and then transitioned to a flex position. You aren't given a steady schedule and even if you *can* see your schedule, it's not accurate. You're basically on call. I was barely given any hours (4 hour shifts) and my paychecks were typically $60-230 a week. How does Burlington expect their employees to live based off this salary? The manager asked if I could stay as a flex after my 3 months. They said I wouldn't be scheduled as many hours as before, which I figured wouldn't be too bad, but I was only scheduled to work 4 days in January and a day in February. Meanwhile, other seasonal employees who were hired after me were being scheduled weekly. Talk about favorites! The store is poorly managed. Everything is everywhere! They don't hire people to 'zone', so it's up to the Sales Associates to tidy up the place. No matter how disorganized the store appeared, management encouraged us to keep stocking. Socks, boxers, baby clothes, perfume/cologne is very disorganized because of this. I liked *some* co-workers but a majority of the people who work here made me feel like I didn't belong. If you look alternative, don't even bother applying because they'll make you feel like an outcast and try and create unnecessary drama so that you can feel even more disconnected with everyone. Burlington has been open in Downey for a while - since spring of this year (2018), but it wasn't until recently that I checked it out. The store seems large, but it will fool you. Everything is somewhat... limited. Be prepared for a long wait at the register even if there is not a line. No difficulties finding free parking here. read more

At 11:35pm we were rushed out because they were closing early even though closing time isn't till midnight. Rude, lazy, unprofessional. Asked Alicia the cashier what time they closed. She took a while to respond before saying right now. I asked if she knew why they are closing early. She didn't know. Told her "have a goodnight" after paying and she ignored me. the girls here are rude and have horrible attitudes. i was in line but i was still looking at things to buy. i was not facing the registers at all. my boyfriend and i were looking and talking about what else we should get. one of the employees yelled "NEXT!" i didn't turn around because there was a lady who get ahead of us because we obviously were not ready yet. she then yells again "MA'AM?!? NEXT!! This has been my to go place since they opened last year. Today I went with my mother and everything was ok until The "manager" a bald guy treated us with so much disrespect. My mother ask him where were the belts at and without even looking at her he pointed his finger and said "right there" as he kept walking! On our way out he walked toward us and said "the cars don't go outside" I looked back at him and respectfully replied "ok" I was about to take the cart back to the place where they go. He then grabbed it and I said "thank you" .... with this nasty attitude he replied"mmmm hmmmm"!!! I then looked at him and saw his face looked like he was so upset at someone. I said "you should say you're welcome" he then yelled at me saying" it be nice if you put in it's place!" I was going to put it in the place where it belong but he came to grab it from us. Why? Why is it ok for people like him to treat others like that. When I ask for the manager, with a grin on his face said he was the manager in this place. My mom then told him how rude he was earlier and he told my mom "You are lying!! Be realistic !!" My mother is an elder woman and she is always very respectful. For someone to treat her like that and think it's ok because he is the manager it's so sad. This was the last time for me there. I just hope someone puts a stop to people like that because it's not ok to lose customers because of one person nasty attitude. read more

I've had 2 very bad experiences at this location. 1st I bought an earbuds, went to the gym which is 3 min away. I opened it so I can use it only to find out it was empty and someone had placed a rock inside the packaging so that no one would think the item had been stolen. I came back immediately to notify the staff only to have them tell me to wait back in line which took 30 min after I waited 45 min to buy the item in the first place. Then when it was my turn, they said they can't give me a refund because I probably stole it & I should've checked beforehand but the cashier charging me didn't check either. So after enough pleading they tell me to just call back tomorrow. I offered to leave my name & contact info only for the cashier to give me a bad attitude when I'm just trying to do my part in making sure that theres some sort of line of communication. I call the next day to be on hold for 20 min then I'm told I can only get a refund during 12 in the afternoon to 6:00pm mon-fri but I work sun-fri from 10am-7:00pm so I have to get someone to cover my shift so I can finally get the refund. They did nothing to make me feel better for all the time I wasted & being made out to be a liar & thief trying to cheat the system. The last time I came back I had 2 security guards & 2 associates follow me throughout the store the whole time I was there. I refuse to buy anything after I was treated as some sort of criminal. I purchased a gift card at burlington cerritos of a certain quantity and then the lady told me i have 30 days to return, i changed my mind and i wanted to add more money to the card, i went to Burlington in downey, and the supervisor letsia told me i couldn't not even get my money back with my recipt and that i had to go back to cerritos if i want to do some changes on the card, then i called the manager of cerritos and she told me they should be able to let you, i went back to the store and i had to tell the manager myself how to do it and eventually the manager letsia added money to the card but gave me attitude read more

This is the third time I come to this Burlington and the staff is sooooo RUDE! Not only do they close 30 minutes before closing hours! They literally kick everyone out at 9:30 when CLEARLY the hours on yelp state 10:00pm! I asked the cashier, "why are you closing at 9:30?" He responded with "i don't know". Another customer asked why they were closing and another employee responded with "we are running into some problems". I asked to speak to the manager by the name of Vanessa, and when I asked why she was closing her store at 9:30, she replied with "by the time YOU GUYS get out of the store it'll be 10pm". I asked for her name and she responded with "I don't have to give it to you!" WHO THE HECK HIRES THESE PEOPLE?!?!! They have absolutely ZERO customer service!!!!! I have never been treated like crap at a retail store! I arrived at this location at 9:30pm and the doors were locked. Website and automated phone message says it closes at 10pm. I knocked on the door and the associate said they locked the doors at 9. I asked why because they don't close until 10. She said there's nothing she can do 'they're closed' and walked away. So I called the store and asked the manager why the doors were locked. She said they're at capacity. I informed her that I was still standing at the door and can clearly see it's empty, sans employees (I can see their name tags) and the parking lot was so empty you'd swear they all Uber'd to work. It's clear that this store is grossly taking advantage of the storewide policy that they can close early if they reach capacity. I've never been IN this store but based on the store manager's decision to lock up an hour early so they can go home at 10, I'm sure it's not any better inside. Gotta say, Burlington is a place that you can find almost anything. Except that you don't have a lot of time to shop because the air in the store will choke you! How about turning on an air conditioner geez the fact that I have to walk around the store in a hurry for fear of running out of fresh air. If you want your customers to stay longer flip a switch on the air conditioner. Probably would've bought a lot more items if the air was fresher. It felt like a sauna. read more

Worst customer service ever. If I could give no stars I would. I came out of my way to this location in search of a specific item. I found 2 of them, but both were incomplete. I asked an associate if by any chance the missing parts where in the back. She said no without hesitation. That its must be lost somewhere in the store. Ok I thought.. I really wanted this item for my husband, so I decided to take it knowing they usually give you a discount for being incomplete or damaged. I took it to check out and when I asked if they could adjust the price due to it being incomplete, the guy at the register called Yahira and According to Yahira they couldn't override the price UNTIL "the MARKDOWN TEAM" came in....
