The architecture is definitely reminiscent of this time period- and while there seem to have been some renovations, you still totally get that vibe. The array of shops and dining options is impressive and is very family-focused. A lot of sports and activewear, sneakers and all the things that make for a one-stop shop for the entire family. There's some great dining options too- from the eclectic food court, to suburban mainstays like The Cheesecake Factory and Lazy Dog Restaurant. Really the only things that can improve are increasing the number and quality of the restroom facilities and the sometimes eerie emptiness of some vacant areas. It's like liminal spaces but in the nooks of the mall, but overall, more positives than negatives and easy parking, but congested at times.

It was one of the nice malls growing up that was nearby. Now, it's somewhat similar from what I remembered. Give or take some of the major departments stores are gone and replaced by a major chain store. You still have all the little mom and pop shops. Then the classic retailers. Loads of stores that I loved growing up have vanished. Either out of business or relocated. Department stores like Macys and JC Pennys are still there but nothing major. I don't even know what the food court is like as we didn't even venture that far. I had to return something and they had a store here. A smaller store but still. Plenty of parking as the space is massive. Mall is decent size but nothing crazy big. It's the neighborhood mall that I feel like it'll be there for many more years to come.

It wasn't just one moment -- it felt like something concerning was happening every time I turned a corner. What bothered me even more was how poorly monitored the mall seemed. There were areas with almost no staff or security around, which made the whole place feel even more unpredictable. Even the parking lot felt uncomfortable because of the lighting and the people wandering around who didn't seem to be there for shopping. Instead of feeling relaxed, I felt like I had to constantly watch my surroundings, which is the opposite of what a mall should make you feel. I really tried to give Stonewood Center a fair chance, but the longer I stayed, the more I realized I wasn't having any fun at all. I didn't feel safe, I didn't feel comfortable, and I definitely wouldn't recommend this place to teenagers or anyone who wants to enjoy their time without worrying about what might happen around them.
