I visited Stonewood Center with someone, and instead of feeling lively or fun, the whole place made me feel tense and unsafe. I tried to enjoy it the way I usually do with new places, but the atmosphere felt unpredictable in a way that teenagers or young adults definitely wouldn't enjoy. As I walked around, I kept seeing groups of people arguing loudly or acting in ways that made the environment feel unstable, and it surprised me how often it happened. It wasn't just one moment -- it felt like something concerning was happening every time I turned a corner. What bothered me even more was how poorly monitored the mall seemed. There were areas with almost no staff or security around, which made the whole place feel even more unpredictable. Even the parking lot felt uncomfortable because of the lighting and the people wandering around who didn't seem to be there for shopping. Instead of feeling relaxed, I felt like I had to constantly watch my surroundings, which is the opposite of what a mall should make you feel. I really tried to give Stonewood Center a fair chance, but the longer I stayed, the more I realized I wasn't having any fun at all. I didn't feel safe, I didn't feel comfortable, and I definitely wouldn't recommend this place to teenagers or anyone who wants to enjoy their time without worrying about what might happen around them. I've lived for 24 years, and I've been to plenty of malls, but this was one of the few times where the environment itself felt like the problem. I only visited Stonewood Center once before writing this review, and honestly, that was enough. Because of how unsafe it felt, I'm giving it a 1‑star rating and hoping it improves so people can feel comfortable going there again. read more

This was my hometown mall, and I used to love coming here but things sure do change. Over the years there have been many changes and it not only affecting this mall but it's affecting many others. There was a period of time where you just saw tons of stores closing and nothing really replacing them. There were rumours going around that this mall might even close. Recently seems like they are starting to add more stores so maybe there is a revival. Even with the new stores added to me this is just a boring mall. With other better malls not that far away I rarely come here any more. I hope they can do some renovations and make this mall exciting again but for now this is always my last resort mall to go to. read more

From the major malls around the area, this is the least popular. Came during summer time and it's an a-okay mall. A lot of smaller vendors with the large, well-known ones as well. If you want a less crowded mall, this would be best. I just don't like where they have glass ceilings. It makes it really feel like you're in a sauna and it gets really warm. But the other areas are air-conditioned. I can only imagine how crowded it probably gets after school when Downey High School gets out and the kids just cross the street and hang out there. read more

Stonewood Mall could improve the curbside experience by enforcing curbside-only parking through better signage, painted markings, and security monitoring so customers using pickup services can access designated stalls. read more

Been here a few times, nothing bad about it tbh. I would recommend they have a few seats or benches throughout the mall. Especially for the older ones or kids to sit down. It feels like your force to stand up when you're waiting. read more

This is a fairly large one-level mall with most of the typical shops and eateries as well as a few restaurants on the outside. They have a decent sized food court which has places like Sbarro, Leo's Tacos, and Red Iron Mongolian BBQ. It does have a fairly large dinning area in the center of the food court. The main department stores are JC Penny's and Macy's and like mentioned earlier they have all the places like Victoria's Secret, H&M, Hot Topic, Spencers, etc. The parking area is all around the mall and very easy to park. This mall seems a bit old, but I found it had everything you could want. I give it 4/5 stars. Most of the stores were open, and a few new ones as well which are not yet listed on Yelp or Google. The Macerich Company is doing a sh*tty job at running this dump. It's clear as day how they feel about the Latino community as Downey is 75% Hispanic. This mall lacks any renovation and is nothing but a sp*m dumb for hole in the wall renters to fill in the space so that national retailers don't renegotiate their contracts due to open vacancies. In the last decade I've never seen this lot filled to its max, Cerritos mall it can be hard to find parking as the lots seemed to be filled. I came here to pick something up and as I was driving I realize I've never seen this lots ever filled and what a waste. TMC can really utilize their parking space if they really put in the effort in renovating this mall. This mall seems to be the step child for TMC as it's been neglected over the past 2 decades. read more

The Stonewood Center is in Downey on Lakewood Blvd. It is not crowded and we liked it very much. Parking is easy and free. The place is super clean, inside and out and I feel very safe there. They don't have a lot of great stores, some are going out of business, but for the most part the ones that are left are nice. We love Journey's, a sneaker store that carries a lot of Vans and other shoes my grandson loves and the service is great. There is a store there called Candyland which sucks and they are rude so avoid that place, but the other stores are very nice and you will like it. Have fun. Oh, and I love that they have gender neutral bathrooms that are ever so clean. I can take my grandson in, no issues. Love that. read more

Hadn't been to this mall in years. But was in the neighborhood Christmas Day. It wasn't as busy as I'd expect. It has definitely changed and has tons of new stores. I remember it being very limit in retail and the food Court but not anymore. I think I'll be coming here more often. read more

Of course, Macy's stood out as the largest store, catering to a predominantly middle-class clientele. While the mall itself was spacious and offered a convenient spot for locals to hang out, it lacked significant attractions to draw visitors from afar. Got a nice stripped polo shirt from PacSun and I like to park far with this huge parking lot. Parking was a bit difficult to find. Last night, I got a couple hundred steps in. Very crowded mall during the holidays. There is a fundraiser for gift wrapping if you need your presents to be wrapped for the holiday. The bathrooms could be stocked more with paper towels and cleaned up more frequently. Great place to walk around and get moving. read more

My wife and I have coming to the Stonewood Center to shop for many years we use to gobto Sear's,See's Candies,Bath & Body Work,Macy's and other stores in the mall. We also go to BJ Brewhouse,Olive Garden,Wild Buffalo Wings to eat. Throught the years it survived but stores go's out of business Stonewood still keeping opening. read more

This is a cautionary tale to anyone going to this mall but any mall in general. DO NOT PUT YOUR NAME IN THE CAR/VACATION RAFFLE. IT'S A TIMESHARE SCAM. Like an idiot, I put my name in one of those raffles to win a Tesla at the of $100k at the Stonewood Mall. 6 months later I get a call from a company saying that I won a free trip or something, and again, like an idiot I took the bait. They invited me to watch this lame ass presentation on a timeshare (they say it's not a timeshare but it is) and then they harass you into getting it. The package is $10,000 AND they specifically pray on uneducated women. They even said it in the presentation essentially. I know I'm being petty for leaving this 1-star rating but F this place for wasting my time and money. read more

They should call this the dead mall because it is pretty dead or slowly crawling to the grave. Three aren't many stores open and the ones that are don't have much at least for me. I came to do some shopping to this mall for mothers and it's by far one of the worst malls I've been to. The parking lot has a lot of pot holes causing a lot trip hazards the restrooms were super dirty and were filled of graffiti I used to come to this mall a lot last year and nothing has changed restroom was out of order like always and security is a joke I told them what I saw in the restroom and how it was extremely hot because the AC didn't work and they responded with an attitude and said it wasn't their job that it was management and when I asked for their manager they said they were the manager I'm not sure what her name was but she a heavier set female with brown or black hair avoid her at all times super rude. The selection was all the same shoe stores, anime stores, and jewelry stores and had a lot of empty spaces. Stonewood management please do better you're better off going to Cerritos or Montebello mall the value of those malls are worth it. Also please have realistic food choices no one wants to eat from a food court that has only 5 places. Oh and lastly please have some ventilation in the restroom it smells horrible when someone uses it after bowel movement. read more

Went to Stonewood mall for some shoes for my son and some eyebrow nose and lip jewelry for my daughter. We walked in by the Food court and stop at Sbarro for pizza it was good but the AC was horrible was sweating while eating that was gross. Then walked down to Spencers for piecing jewelry and then to shoe palace all along the way the lil stand people where hitting us up along the way . it's not crowded and they do need to invest in a new air conditioner. This place is really starting to come together. Before Covid this place was almost dead. Glad people started to open up shops inside again. They have a great food court with lots of variety and the stores they opened are making people come back to this Old Childhood spot again. read more

2.5 stars. I've never been to this mall before and just recently found out about it. It's all one level in a big "T" shape. From the outside, the mall doesn't look like anything...old, shabby, small, and below average, but inside, it's surprisingly a little better than I thought! I never have a reason to return since I don't live in the area and was just passing through, but it was interesting to see. There are two clothing stores here that aren't in most malls, The Fly Store has really unique, extremely colorful urban streetwear and Palatini has nice clothing at pretty good prices because I've seen similar styles for twice as much. The store owners are trying to make it, but due to the area, I don't know what kind of sales they get. The food court had some good, but average eatery choices, but I didn't eat anything. I went on a Friday late morning/very early afternoon and it was pretty busy. The main bathroom in the food court though needed cleaning. The floor was all wet, especially at a certain stall. Hopefully, no one slipped and fell in that nasty water. To compare some other malls of the same level, in my opinion, this mall is at the same level as the Inland Center Mall in San Bernardino and the Lakewood Mall...all three are older and need updating with the same kind of stores. The Puente Hills Mall is old too, but larger, but doesn't have quite as good a variety of stores as Stonewood since they have more of those swap meet/mom and pop type stores. PH, however, has this slightly depressing feel to it because no one is hardly there. Stonewood is actually much better than The Village in Orange in terms of the number of stores. The Shops at Montebello is better than Stonewood. read more

macy's in a Stonewood is ridiculous and horrible customer service today I went to Macy's down Stonewood and I met the one of the manager. His name is Rafael. because I have a problem with Online Order and they took my item and they didn't refund me and when I am, I went to solve this problem Rafael. He didn't do anything to solve the problem and he keep looking at me with dirty looking and it's not acceptable at all even they took my item and I have their receipt and they didn't refunding me my money and he keeps sending me my bill was extra fees charge without knowing where I my item goes and I return it in the store I don't know where my item goes unless I have the receipt and I don't know if they took my item and I don't know. Maybe they make business they took the item and they didn't refund it because they didn't know maybe they not attention but they took the item and they didn't get their refund. They did refunding you. You have to be careful. this location, especially Downey Stonewood mall they are Steve and they are horrible and terrible customer service and they didn't solve the problem and just he calling the customer service and I called the customer service more than five times and by the end they keep hang me the phone and they keep transferring me for the specialist and no one can solve this problem and my money it goes and they charge me extra fees and I advise everyone don't return any item in this location. This location Downey Stonewood, horrible customer service and they are thieves they took the money from the people and they took the item and they didn't refund it. They are stealing the people. two months I return my item and my money. It doesn't refund it. They steal my money. I got photos done from a kiosk there. I felt ripped off and also I feel they were being rude to my sister and I. I paid $400+ for photos and they kept trying to increase the price. When I went to read their reviews they were all horrible. Everyone had been charged different prices, and I for sure was scammed. The pictures are nice but the price is ridiculous. I wish that I went to J.C. Penney photos instead they only charge 140-180 for a bundle of photos and digital copies. This place I wish I could give negative 10. I'm actually irate that they can get away with it, they said once price at the beginning and then kept switching up, I paid 45 bucks for the appointment, and that didn't go towards the final total at all. The whole time they rushed me and my kids and didn't listen to me saying where and how I wanted them to look. I am paying for the photos I would like to have input in how they will end up. I didn't want a certain hat and she kept a putting it on her head regardless. I was annoyed and trying to remain polite but it was rude also talking smack about me in Spanish not knowing I also speak Spanish, VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. Never again. Don't do it. If I could find their website I would leave this review their as well, this is probably why they were kicked out of Ontario mills and ended up in the Stonewood mall, super scammers. $65 for a 8x10????? I've been to much worse malls, but I've also been to much better. Downey is a nice town with lots of hardworking people. Too bad this mall doesn't do it justice, in my opinion. However, there are many places within that I appreciate having so close... Orange Julius is the bomb. I'm surprised the employees don't already know mine and my husband's first names yet. Zales! Because I like keeping our rings looking nice and shiny. Wetzel's Pretzels! The parmesan pretzels are a good snack. :) Bath & Body Works... well, I just love their soap. LIDS! Because every now & then they have a nice fitted hat for my hubby. Sears! Because my husband is a Craftsman guy. I also like their shoe selections every once in a while. If I were still teaching, I would definitely partake in the Dollar Book Fair more often. JCPenney's is okay for clothes ever so often... Came to mall for the Lids store since this location had a fitted hat in my size where all the others didn't have it. Located in the city of Downey off Firestone and Lakewood. This is a pretty good size mall and some good stores as well. I also stopped at GNC to restock on my Quest bars. Overall a pretty nice mall. read more

For a while I completely stopped coming to Stonewoods play area because it was filthy. The dirtiest of all mall indoor play areas I had seen. Today I stopped by to kill some time and I saw that they had changed the carpet, took out some old play sets and added new ones. That is a HUGE improvement and I'm glad they did that. I definitely see my self coming more from now on. There is still room for improvement. They need to keep the carpet clean. There is food, paper and wrappers in the floor still. Maybe someone should pass by and sweap it 3 times a day so it's always clean. In the morning, mid day and evening. There are a lot of parents who will come to the mall just so the kids can play. If the place is nice and clean, they will probably come more often and may also shop at the mall. It's a win win to have a nice play area. There is a good selection of food and store options but if they invest just a little more on the play area, they can def increase their traffic. Oh and a little renovation to the entire building and restrooms wouldn't hurt. The food court is a little outdated and there are only a few restrooms. Those definitely need a face lift. read more

This Mall is nasty, property management has allowed this place to be one the worst malls in the surrounding areas. They have done very little work to fill the empty spaces throughout the mall. Many of the stores are unbranded making the mall feel like a swap-meet. The exterior is old, parking lot needs to be improved around the entire facility. Landscaping is embarrassing on the north side of the parking lot. We are better than this Downey! read more

I went to the bouncy land inside the mall and now I was amazed that they had ball pits and a bunch of jumpers for the kids... the prize is actually not bad however I believe 1hr or less should be enough I got the all day pass and well the kids get bored... they should change the jumpers to obstacle course jumpers, and maybe 1 or 2 games for them besides basketball. I'm sure theres a few low cost ideas they could implement. Overall great idea and helps tire they kids would recommend as a last thing to do since its tiring for the little ones. read more
