This is a fairly large one-level mall with most of the typical shops and eateries as well as a few restaurants on the outside. They have a decent sized food court which has places like Sbarro, Leo's Tacos, and Red Iron Mongolian BBQ. It does have a fairly large dinning area in the center of the food court. The main department stores are JC Penny's and Macy's and like mentioned earlier they have all the places like Victoria's Secret, H&M, Hot Topic, Spencers, etc. The parking area is all around the mall and very easy to park. This mall seems a bit old, but I found it had everything you could want. I give it 4/5 stars. Most of the stores were open, and a few new ones as well which are not yet listed on Yelp or Google. I am hoping to try to add some of them in.

The Stonewood Center is in Downey on Lakewood Blvd. It is not crowded and we liked it very much. Parking is easy and free. The place is super clean, inside and out and I feel very safe there. They don't have a lot of great stores, some are going out of business, but for the most part the ones that are left are nice. We love Journey's, a sneaker store that carries a lot of Vans and other shoes my grandson loves and the service is great. There is a store there called Candyland which sucks and they are rude so avoid that place, but the other stores are very nice and you will like it. Have fun. Oh, and I love that they have gender neutral bathrooms that are ever so clean. I can take my grandson in, no issues. Love that.

Ask the Community - Stonewood Center

Is Victoria Secret inside the Mall?

I don't think there is a VS here, however there are two PINK stores in the actual mall

Is a Sephora inside the mall?

Yes it is at JC Penney

    Is the mall open?

yes the mall is open, with restrictions. Wear a mask and depending on the size of store, a limit of people inside. All stores are obeying this, so there is a few stores with long lines.

What happened to the Stonewood Forest play area? Is it open again? Last time I was there it was shut down.

Lowe's is quite honestly the big seller of this shopping center for me. I am a DIYer. Even more so since my husband of 15 years and I separated! There is a Home Depot in Downey, however, most mom and pop home improvement stores in my area have all shut down. Thus, Lowe's usually has what I can't find at the big orange building. NOT SO FAVORITE PART... Pedestrians walking extra slow and down the middle of the streets to get back to their cars. When this happens and my kids are in the backseat, I just take a deep breath and start whistling "Move Bitch" by Ludacris as I drive by. Lol. The Habit in Pico Rivera has to be the slowest operating of this chain in all of America. The burgers haven't been all that great during the pandemic. Their PA system sucks. Check your order before you go! PARKING Ample free spaces... not so much near Walmart, though. Lol. TIP During COVID-19, many places are offering order online and pickups in person or takeouts. This is so worth it when you have kids especially. OVERALL I'm a fan thanks in large part to Lowe's, Wendy's, ULTA, Sally Beauty, Dollar Tree, and Bath and Body Works.

Having run an outlet store before, I have much respect for the employees who work and manage these stores. Outlet centers are a non-stop barrage of customers who are looking for bargains, and some of those folks have no regard for putting things back where they got them or expect luxury-level service for bargain bin items. Now, the thing about Citadel Outlets is the roster of brands is impressive. You will find a nice selection of stores, and because it's in the heart of SoCal, you will score some great finds, but the cost is navigating some of the clientele who once again, have NO concept of the social contract and treat their surroundings like trash. Case in point, while I was in the shopping center, a lady walking her dog as she was shopping let her dog deficate on the sidewalk in a sea of people and just left it. There are also plenty of people on their phones playing videos or whatever at full blast. So, if you don't mind people being absolutely anti-social and infringing on basic societal courtesy, you might be okay with shopping here. Of course the center cannot chose it's customers, but in order to score deals, you will most likely have to navigate through some bad behavior, but the center itself has a great assortment of brands- but didn't really see much in the way of dining. Also, the parking was good- but I did visit on a Tuesday afternoon, so it was off peak. Overall, Citadel outlets has an impressive array of outlet stores, but the usual downsides of outlet shopping apply, and a lack of decent food options detracts from the overall experience.

This helps out a lot when you have a whole bunch of people not from the area and you, perhaps, just come out of the movies. No one is ready to go home yet and everyone is hungry. The first thing you want is to know where to go. The last thing you want to do is Click 50 different places when you don't know the neighborhood. This could lead to frustration if everybody can't get what they want. Now enter the Downey Gateway Yelp entry. Once you read up on it and look at the pictures, you will realize that this place is pretty loaded with variety. From Burgers to Pizza. From Cajun food to sushi and even hummus. From fish to healthy grilled foods and there is even. Something dedicated to your sweet tooth for dessert (or anytime) - a frozen yogurt shop! Oh and we can't forget the other businesses that are not food related, such as Financial Partners, Adalies, Vanity, Allure & CrossFit. So I sincerely hope the Downey Gateway offers everyone something that they love. Sincerely, A guy from Florida that loves this place.
