I visited Stonewood Center with someone, and instead of feeling lively or fun, the whole place made…read moreme feel tense and unsafe. I tried to enjoy it the way I usually do with new places, but the atmosphere felt unpredictable in a way that teenagers or young adults definitely wouldn't enjoy. As I walked around, I kept seeing groups of people arguing loudly or acting in ways that made the environment feel unstable, and it surprised me how often it happened. It wasn't just one moment -- it felt like something concerning was happening every time I turned a corner. What bothered me even more was how poorly monitored the mall seemed. There were areas with almost no staff or security around, which made the whole place feel even more unpredictable. Even the parking lot felt uncomfortable because of the lighting and the people wandering around who didn't seem to be there for shopping. Instead of feeling relaxed, I felt like I had to constantly watch my surroundings, which is the opposite of what a mall should make you feel. I really tried to give Stonewood Center a fair chance, but the longer I stayed, the more I realized I wasn't having any fun at all. I didn't feel safe, I didn't feel comfortable, and I definitely wouldn't recommend this place to teenagers or anyone who wants to enjoy their time without worrying about what might happen around them. I've lived for 24 years, and I've been to plenty of malls, but this was one of the few times where the environment itself felt like the problem. I only visited Stonewood Center once before writing this review, and honestly, that was enough. Because of how unsafe it felt, I'm giving it a 1‑star rating and hoping it improves so people can feel comfortable going there again.

Pico Rivera Towne Center - Ross

*** small town shopping experience in Pico Rivera, CA ***…read more ENVIRONMENT Not the most glorious of towne centers, but for the most part this center allows for safe shopping in a mostly clean environment. Here's a list of business at the Pico Rivera Towne Center as of 2/19/21: Aguas Tijuana's Juice Bar ALDI Baskin Robbins Bath & Body Works California Hot Wings Check N Go Chili's Grill & Bar Daniel's Jewelers Del Taco Dental Masters & Orthodontics Dollar Tree Fashion Q Five Below GameStop GNC Hong Kong Express Jerome's Pico Rivera Dream Shop Kut N Beauty L&L Hawaiian Barbecue Lowe's Marshalls Old Navy Panera Bread PetSmart Pico Rivera Shell Ross Dress for Less Sally Beauty Starbucks Subway Supercuts T-Mobile The Flame Broiler The Habit Burger Grill The Joint The Nail Spa ULTA Beauty Verizon Wireless Walgreens Walmart Wendy's Yogurtland MY FAVORITE PART... Lowe's is quite honestly the big seller of this shopping center for me. I am a DIYer. Even more so since my husband of 15 years and I separated! There is a Home Depot in Downey, however, most mom and pop home improvement stores in my area have all shut down. Thus, Lowe's usually has what I can't find at the big orange building. NOT SO FAVORITE PART... Pedestrians walking extra slow and down the middle of the streets to get back to their cars. When this happens and my kids are in the backseat, I just take a deep breath and start whistling "Move Bitch" by Ludacris as I drive by. Lol. The Habit in Pico Rivera has to be the slowest operating of this chain in all of America. The burgers haven't been all that great during the pandemic. Their PA system sucks. Check your order before you go! PARKING Ample free spaces... not so much near Walmart, though. Lol. TIP During COVID-19, many places are offering order online and pickups in person or takeouts. This is so worth it when you have kids especially. OVERALL I'm a fan thanks in large part to Lowe's, Wendy's, ULTA, Sally Beauty, Dollar Tree, and Bath and Body Works.

You could easily sink a couple days here and maybe not even see everything. I can't wait until I'm back in LA, as I'll definitely be setting aside more time to explore here

We visit here maybe once a year, as it's out of the way, and the Outlets of Orange are closer, but…read moreyou have to appreciate the fun architecture and atmosphere of this place. I remember first coming here in 2003. They felt like true outlet stores, with heavily discounted merchandise. Today, it feels like a regular-priced mall. And many items are not cheap. For example, I was interested in a pair of jeans, but checked online, and Macy's was cheaper with their current sale! Several places had buy one, get one 50% off, so 25% off total, which you can find at a regular mall. There also used to be a larger variety of stores, especially in housewares. I would say 80% of the stores are now clothing or shoes. There is a Disney Outlet for toys, Samsonite for luggage, and Vitamin World. There are, of course, sunglasses. The food court is OK, but it gets very busy on the weekends. The only real sit-down restaurant is Ruby's. One thing to know: the cell phone reception is REALLY bad! Several locations have free wi-fi for customers, but I found a few required a password. Another not-so-smart thing is that the bathrooms near the food court have only 3 single-use bathrooms! There are larger ones towards the middle of the mall. But near a food court? Come on guys.

The 2016 YELP 500, Review #135:…read more I created this entry/entity so that those who are traveling to the area, like myself, can easily figure out everything that is in this shopping center through one entry on Yelp. This helps out a lot when you have a whole bunch of people not from the area and you, perhaps, just come out of the movies. No one is ready to go home yet and everyone is hungry. The first thing you want is to know where to go. The last thing you want to do is Click 50 different places when you don't know the neighborhood. This could lead to frustration if everybody can't get what they want. Now enter the Downey Gateway Yelp entry. Once you read up on it and look at the pictures, you will realize that this place is pretty loaded with variety. From Burgers to Pizza. From Cajun food to sushi and even hummus. From fish to healthy grilled foods and there is even. Something dedicated to your sweet tooth for dessert (or anytime) - a frozen yogurt shop! Oh and we can't forget the other businesses that are not food related, such as Financial Partners, Adalies, Vanity, Allure & CrossFit. So I sincerely hope the Downey Gateway offers everyone something that they love. Sincerely, A guy from Florida that loves this place.

*** Pop-up shop review... Vendorama CA, baby! ***…read more This event occurs every second Saturday of each month from 11AM-4PM. ENVIRONMENT Several local and surrounding area vendors set up their own canopies and tables on the concreted area next to St. Marks Episcopal School. It's completely outdoors in a nice area of the 90241 zip code. When they aren't making announcements, they have fun music on the stereo. SERVICE Most of the vendors are very friendly. THE GOODS Each time I see such a wide variety of products and items for sale including clothes, jewelry, baked goods, fruit juices, jerky, candy, plants, candles, aguachile, street tacos, coffee & tea, mask chains, hair accessories, skin treatments, and much more. MY FAVORITE PART... Supporting the locals especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. These people are doing this as their hobbies, but also for the extra income... please support them if at all possible! NOT SO FAVORITE PART... I like to know how much items are clearly and quickly.
