I see this target location has a lot of negative reviews. I honestly didn't read them all but I'm not quite sure why. It's just a normal target. Seems clean enough and organized. Plenty of free dedicated parking, huge footprint and can purchase almost anything here at a reasonable price. The staff were actively looking to assist us, were uniformly professional and kind. Appreciated the shelves were full with stock and manpower was actively visible to ensure it stayed that way. My friend was (non contagious) ill and I deeply appreciated the patience of employees (and locals) as we navigated store and checkout. Happily, we had a huge selection to choose from and found everything to comfortably deposit my friend at home. Grateful! read more

This place has honestly gone downhill. When the drive-up service first started, it was quick, efficient, and actually convenient. Now it feels like the system is being abused. Employees come out, ask for your drive-up code right away, and tell you your items will be brought out shortly. Then you're left sitting there for 15-30 minutes waiting. If you try to get their attention or call out politely, you're often just ignored. Another issue is how they handle people's purchases. I've had items tossed into my car without any care. Glass items, cans, cleaning supplies everything gets thrown in together. I've had Clorox wipes crushed and even had cans dropped on the ground. When you're spending your hard-earned money, the least you expect is for your items to be handled with a little care. Some people will probably say, "If you don't like it, just go inside." But that defeats the whole purpose of drive-up. Inside, there's usually only one register open with a long line of people waiting. Drive-up is supposed to be the efficient option. Overall, the service and attitude here have really declined. Customers shouldn't feel ignored or like their purchases are being handled carelessly. I hope management takes notice and improves the experience because it used to be much better. read more

This is usually my go-to location since it's close to home, but lately the customer service has really gone downhill. They often have the self-checkout stations closed, leaving just one cashier to handle a long line of customers -- yesterday there were 13 people waiting around 9AM. When a second register finally opened, instead of helping the next person in line, they started checking out people from the back of the line, which was really frustrating and unfair. In addition, the women's clothing selection here is very limited and tends to have the same options every visit. Compared to other locations, there isn't much variety or new inventory. read more

Exceptionally long wait at the drive up. This feature used to be a perk at Target, but over the last year has dramatically declined in quality. Specifically today, I waited over half an hour at Drive Up. A team member came with a cart, unloaded to several customers & my item was not in the cart. I asked about my order and was told it's was inside the store and that no other team member could assist and bring it out. I called the store and of course it rang and was not answered. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS! Manager needs to be trained properly!! Went to pick up my order and was told it wasn't ready. Was told we needed to wait an additional 2 hours when our order had been placed for 1-item over 1/hr timeframe already. Spoke to the Manager Mike and he was not helpful at all. He stated our only option was to wait the 2-hrs or cancel our 1-item. When I asked for his full name he stated he was not comfortable sharing it. I wonder why he felt uncomfortable giving out his full name to avoid a complaint because he as a manager refused to resolve an issue or simple do his JOB! read more

I always try to give this company, specifically this location the benefit of the doubt. Hoping and thinking maybe next time I come to shop it'll be different. SO WRONG!!! I only come here because after a long day from work or from running errands, I don't want to drive to another one that is a bit farther from me. But at this rate, I think I am going to have to. 1) They never have cashiers.1-2 MAX. For a whole line wrapped around the store. 2) After waiting in line for 30 mins, when it gets close to being your turn, someone will hop on another register BUT won't take you according to how we are lined up, and instead will take the next person. Again waiting more in line... 3) Cashiers don't know basic customer service skills nor how to give back simple change. My total came out to $35.09 and I handed the cashier a $50, telling her I have the 10 cents. I don't know if she straight up decided to ignore me or didn't hear me. And input it, into the system. I gave her the 10 cents and she told me to wait a second she needed to ask someone something. Turns out, it was her second day training. Which hey, doesn't bother. We all start somewhere. What bothered me was the lady who was training her who came to her and asked the cashier what was the problem and mentioned to her that I gave her 10 cents after she inputted it. She told the cashier no, took the 10 cents from her and slammed it on the arm rest where the card payment system is at and said give her the change that it says on there screen. So I told the lady who was training her, if I can get my dollar. To me, it's simple math, $15.01 I needed to get back. She said "no, once we input it in the system we can't change it." Then followed up with it's her "second day here, I don't want to confuse her." Huh??? So which is it?!?! Did you just lie to a paying customer to avoid giving me change and did not want to give me the dollar or does she not know how to give change? This is suppose to be her mentor? Do better. In that moment, it didn't frustrate me that she was new, again I understand we all start somewhere, it frustrates me when you lie. I've worked for many years as a cashier and have worked as a bookkeeper for the store I was a cashier at, handling 2x as much as money as she did. I KNOW that so long as you give out the correct change your till should be balanced, no matter what you put into the system. Thats how numbers work. If you don't give the correct change, then you'll be short on money. So, pleaseeeee Target, up your customer service skills and retrain your trainers who are training these cashiers. I said no problem I'll take the correct items just cancel the wrong ones and they canceled the whole order and asked me to leave because I told them they don't know what they're doing. I went to pickup my order around 8 pm there was a light skin taller lgbt kid and his counterpart (female). First they took forever to bring out my order. Then when it comes the guy brought out the order and the girl approached my window. She doesn't even say hi or hello just says "name" I tell her my name and she proceeds to grab the items. I noticed 3 of them were not what I ordered so I let her know. She doesn't even apologize or acknowledge they're wrong instead she just looks at her partner the tall light skin lgbt kid and tells him 3 are wrong. I then say it's ok I'll take the rest just cancel the 3 it's no big deal. Again no eye contact from these guys no acknowledgment nothing. They just start having a conversation amongst themselves and the guy tells her ok just cancel the 3. Neither of them apologize or anything. Now mind you I think this girl is new or maybe she's just a ding dong but instead of canceling the 3 items she cancels the whole order. I get an email notification saying my order was canceled and I let them know hey I think you canceled the whole order. They again keep ignoring me and start talking amongst each other the dude telling her she was just supposed to cancel the 3 and at this point I'm getting frustrated because these people can't even acknowledge they're completely messing up everything they're doing or at least apologize for it. So the guy just says well we have to ring you up inside now because the order got canceled. So I'm very upset and tell him so because she doesn't know what she's doing I need to now go inside? He says yes it's canceled so we need to ring you up inside. I then tell him well no that defeats the whole purpose can't I just replace the order on the app and you can give me the items since we are already out here? He says no if you do that you have to wait two hours! How does that make any sense??? So then I say you know what bro just keep them never mind they're just vitamin waters anyways and you guys have no idea what you're doing. So then this lgbt dude gets upset and starts arguing with me saying I know what I'm doing I work here! And I say no you clearly don't. Then he argues back saying "if I don't know what Im doing then how do I work here." So I keep telling him you both don't know what you're doing and when he realizes he's wrong he says "ok you can leave now" so then I tell him no you can leave I'm not leaving you're the one who doesn't know what he's doing. Then he says you need to leave again and I say no you leave you don't know how to do your job. They then proceed to walk away talking smack. The idiocy of these employees. Seriously! Who messed the order up to begin with? Wasn't me. Who canceled the entire order? Again wasn't me. So who doesn't know what they're doing? Clearly it isn't me. I placed the order and drove to the store to pick it up and somehow these ding dongs managed to mess that up. Dude your job is literally so simple a monkey can do it. All you do is grab stuff from the store and bring it to the car and you can't even get that right and on top of that you give customers attitude and treat them like crap and act like you don't wanna be there. I'm a local resident and frequent this location many times with my twin boys. I don't know what has happened at this location but in the last month or so it has become quite chaotic: long lines, one or two cashiers tops, broken self serve machines, non-existent customer service, and the poor workers are either openly complaining or gossiping about something. I went on a weekday morning right at opening to buy my kids a pair of sites for school and the store looked like it was hit by a Black Friday crowd, shoes and boxes and trash everywhere in the floor. No employee in sight. On Saturday the line was taking so long (only one cashier) I saw people leave the line, with their items, and just walk out. Even an elderly couple! Honestly it's feeling like Armageddon at this Target. Gotta do more shopping through Amazon. read more

Typically don't write reviews but this one absolutely needed one. I was in line for self check out and another lady asked if there was additional cashiers available. Granted the holidays are coming up and you are short staffed but the way to talk to a customer and how you approach someone is just rude. It's not towards me it's something I observed and it's just plain rude. Customer: "do you have anyone else that can help at the cash register?" Team member managing self checkout said: "unfortunately we are short staffed at the moment and there's nothing that I can do about that." To the regional manager of the target on Bellflower Boulevard in Long Beach, California. First of all, I would like to complement Target Company for promoting African-American products during Black History Month. However, when I had to exchange the Harperiman Doll that I bought from the Bixby Knolls Target (where the dolls was in plan sight for customers to see) I was extremely appalled to find the dolls hidden at the Bellflower Target in the toy aisle on the bottom shelf were customers would over see and not notice that they were there. If it was not for my daughter happening to look down. I would have not been able to exchange it there. Instead of the dolls being displayed in the front of the store were the African-American items for Black History are located. I spent a good $30 for grocery items here the other day and the lines are never long and they always have extra cash registers open for you to check out at otherwise the store remains clean and is never over crowded on a normal day even tho the parking lot was packed there was additional parking! The prices are decent and quality has improved! I buy my spots bras with the zipper going down the middle of bra from Target for a good $20-$29 and they last! They support me through my workouts and even when I'm at home and even a regular day. read more

I've only been to this Target location twice. Once pre-quarantine and once today mid-quarantine (right before phase-2). Today I used Target's curbside pickup service for the first time and I'm definitely a fan! Ordered my items through the Target app on my phone and waited for my notification email to let me know when my items were ready for pickup. I placed my order before the store opened at 8am and received my pickup notification around 10:30am. Though the email said that I had a few days to pick it up, I headed out to pick up my items that same afternoon. Through the app, I notified the store that I was on my way and what type of car I would be arriving in. Once at the store, I pulled into one of the designated parking spots for curbside pickup and used the app to confirm that I was in the parking lot. It took less than 1-minute for a friendly (and masked) woman to walk to my car with a bag full of my items. She scanned a barcode from my app to confirm that I was the correct customer, asked me to make sure all the items I ordered were in my bag, and I was on my way. Easy peasy! I can see myself using curbside pickup more frequently even after the quarantine. COVID matters aside, the one time that I actually walked into the store was a good experience as well. Mostly because they had kickass markdowns on legit good seasonal items post-holidays. Better than other Target locations nearby. Here's a tip: Don't turn into the parking lot from Cherry Ave to avoid pedestrian traffic from Food 4 Less. I recommend entering the parking lot from 68th street. There's an entrance/exit much closer to Target. read more

I frequent Target. I have the Target app. I shopped for Shipt for a while. Never have i ever seen a store look like it was for sale. There was not a morsel of food in any of the fresh food sections. Like more than one row of empty refrigerators. While I understand that we may not the socioeconomic status of other Targets in the area. It is sickening to see, that we aren't given the same availability to purchase much needed items. Like because we live in a lower income area, we don't deserve the same treatment. To top it off, at 9pm they lock their front entrance. So I walk in through the gate cut, because the sign on the door clearly says that it's open until 10pm. I walk up to Customer Service to make them aware. The young man looks at me and says, "yeah, we do that so that we can concentrate on closing". Meanwhile, there is no sign outside advising shoppers to enter through the exit. So people were turning around walking back to their cars, as I almost did. I'm pretty sure, that corporate doesn't want you to turn away money. Like I said, I love Target. Which is why I sent this message. I go to Target because I like the ambiance of the store. I like to get lost in there and end up spending way more than needed. However, if things don't change at this location. I will take my money elsewhere or stop shopping at Target all together. If I can't find what I'm looking for here, imma just go to Walmart. read more

The store itself was clean. My bad experience was from the checkout. I was in line for about 25 minutes which is just insane! How are there not enough employees to accommodate the amount of customers trying to checkout? The line I was in there was a problem with each customer. For example the employee had a hard time with a gift card, then next with counting the cash, next a customer with an ebt card that they tried inserting as a chip card. She had to cancel the transaction and start over. Can we please train the employees to handle basic problems? I came home from work and thought I could go to target to pick up a couple of items in a quick matter. I've been in traffic for an hour and now in line for a half hour? I need a drink!!! read more

I wouldn't usually rate a Target on Yelp, but this review is long overdue. I feel like the workers here truly deserve some recognition for their hard work, especially during this pandemic. I have only used drive-up for all my orders since March 2020. I've been to literally every Target with the drive-up option in Long Beach, Signal Hill, and Cerritos... and this is the ONLY location where I've never had any issues... or if there were issues, they were taken care of quickly and appropriately. One time, an item I ordered wasn't in stock, but the app didn't give me the option to decide what to do (pick-up from another store, have it shipped, or just cancel). The app just canceled it for me, but I didn't know until I arrived at the store. The worker let me know what happened and gave me a gift card to compensate, and I still got a refund for the item. Another time, the app wouldn't let me notify the store that I was on my way. I called and chose the option for guest services, not really expecting anyone would pick up. But someone actually answered and explained that the store's system was down, which is why the app wasn't working, and they were asking customers to leave because they couldn't ring them up at the registers. They were still able to process pick-up orders, but not drive-up, so the employee asked if I could just come into the store. I told her I had my child with me and didn't feel comfortable going inside. She said she totally understood my concerns and that I could just call back when I arrived and she would personally bring out my order. When I called back, she remembered my name and said she would be right out. The parking lot was a mess with customers arriving for drive-up orders, workers trying to help them, and customers trying to leave the store. But the person who had helped me on the phone came right out with my order and was so friendly, despite the chaos happening around her. I've stopped trying to order from other locations, even if this location doesn't have what I want in stock. I just refuse to go through all the hassle I've experienced at other Targets' drive-ups. I hope management and corporate compensate their employees accordingly for all they've had to deal with throughout the pandemic. I am truly grateful for the service they provide. read more

I do not normally write reviews, but this is my local Target, so I frequented this location often.. until it became disgustingly clear that their upper management does NOT care about their employees. On numerous occasions when I place orders for pickup, it is very clear that the woman I believe is the upper management, Abby, who apparently hides in the back of Guest Services and i have only seen a handful of times when i shopped here weekly.. does not help their team when swamped with customers. I have nothing but good things to say about the team that actually tends to customers.. but this woman has made me genuinely uncomfortable shopping at this location. The store is always hella messy along with so many unruly children running around. Crying, yelling, just being straight up annoying. Ugh. Lots of opened food packages and beverages too. This target is usually well stocked when other targets are lacking. More specifically the next closet target to me is the target at the Lakewood mall which always seems to be out of everything. When I go to Target I do not interact with the staff much since I mostly know what I am going for and because I usually opt for the shorter self checkout lines so I cannot comment on their staff. As far as location, parking and how well stocked this Target is I can say that it always has what I need. I got into the self checkout line at 7:43 and man there told me it was closed he had one person get there right before us and let her go , he then proceeded to close registers so I said okay now I see... BUT THEN a man came up with a loaf of bread and this dude opened up the whole register again just for him proceeded to say "he was here already" even when he arrived way after we walked away from self checkout. Most of the workers here have excellent customer service... from the gentlemen who get carts from us (the older Hispanic gentleman and the taller gentleman always greet you) and they're constantly sanitzing the carts. Usually I leave here pleased since we always get what we need. My mom likes the 3 older white ladies and David... they're always quick but they're friendly to work with. Place is frequently stocked and if we can't find something, employees usually help us out in finding where we can get what we need. Place is always tidy as well. Love coming here! read more
