Disappointed. I wanted my next furniture to come from a wood maker to exit the expensive and un-eco friendly cycle of cheap, big box furniture. When I first purchased the furniture I was living in a garden apartment and couldn't see the design flaws - damaged planks of wood used to make the furniture or planks with holes in them. Fast forward a few years and I am left with furniture that is basically wood for a bonfire. It has dry rotted so badly to the point where I can literally see through the furniture. If it were just one piece then I could say it was one bad tree that produced bad wood. But not when every piece has not help up at all. Boris creates beautiful custom rustic wood pieces. I have so far used him to create 3 pieces, the first of which was a 2 layer desk for use in music production, where the music keyboard fits on the 2nd under-layer. It came out perfect. I had him stain it with multi-colors and now it looks like a desk you may find for thousands of dollars but it cost a fraction of that. The 2nd piece was a side table to match my desk. It came out looking very cute and matched perfectly. The 3rd piece is a lovely cabinet. All of his pieces look beautiful and he's thus been a joy to work with and has always been able to deliver the custom specs I needed for the pieces. My husband and I have worked with Boris since 2014 and have ordered five pieces from him since that time. I could not be happier with his craftsmanship, his ability to customize, and the quality of the pieces we have received. -Initially we ordered the Bill table, and were able customize the finish, inlays, and other details of the table. It came out beautifully. -The next table we ordered was a coffee table. Boris was able to perfectly match my vision using only a few photos of what I did and didn't want, and now we have a customized table (chevron top, storage underneath, hairpin legs) that gets complimented anytime we have a new guest in our home. -We also ordered a pair of shelves where I found shelving brackets that I liked and Boris was able to put together the shelves using reclaimed wood in a finish that I had selected. He was incredibly patient as the shelving brackets took forever to arrive due to a strike at the Port of Long Beach. -Boris was also able to make us a headboard using reclaimed wood. I had very specific dimensions as we were living in a small apartment at the time, and as usual he didn't disappoint; it came out exactly as I was picturing. -The latest piece that Boris created for us was a single dresser that we plan on using as a changing table for our baby. This time I wanted something that was more mid-century modern in design, with soft closing drawers. Boris made a detachable changing tabletop that we could remove once that particular feature was no longer needed. Boris also was able to include a metal inlay design on the drawers that I had requested, showing his capabilities as a craftsman as well as an artist. The dresser is absolutely stunning and the highlight of our nursery. Overall, Boris is a pleasure to work with and has created outstanding pieces that have truly made our house a home.
