Why is there so many little hidden gems that no one really knows about. Or my case, me. We've seen this place before a couple months back but they were already closed. This time, gave it a little wandering around. First impressions, wow. It just keeps going and going. A mecca of vintage and antique finds. There's different rooms which holds more and more treasures. Walking along and through each room it's a while different vibes. From antique items to clothing that's both vintage and more up to date. The selection ate endless. A couple rooms in the back seemed to catered to more of the old school Long Beach vibes in the 90. Loads of amazing pieces that will be perfect for anyone's collection. I was about to make a purchase when I noticed the woman working there was mumbling and grumbling something toward me. After I caught on I explained that she was confusing me with someone else as I put the item down. I may have used some other choice words too. Apologizing she over-explained the beef with some (other presumably Black) lady was parking in front of their store during renovations. Make of this what you will. read more

This place is full of treasures! I love coming to Casa De Luxe and buying all kind of amazing vintage items for a very affordable price. Whenever I have a friend visiting, we stop there and we always find a nice vase, a frame, a dress or palos santos. This shop is so adorable! There are so many little rooms, each with their own decor style. Everything is beautifully displayed, inviting, and curated to perfection. I found several treasures here today! There is a mix of antique, vintage, and handmade items, mostly antique and vintage. So Ive been coming to this store for a while and had great experiences. Ive bought a lot of wonderful pieces and had great customer service up until last weekend. My boyfriend and I went into the store and asked the person behind the counter if we could sell back a nightstand we bought a few months ago (because we moved and bought new furniture). Additionally, we also asked if she'd be interested in buying some other furniture pieces. Immediately without hesitation, (and a bit of agitation) the owner (heavy-set lady with glasses) said "Just because we sold it, doesn't mean we'll take it back." My boyfriend told her he understood, but would she still consider looking at it, because its in the same condition as it was when we bought it. Grudgingly she briefly looked at his picture and said "No" with so much disdain. He then showed her a picture of the headboard and she again with disdain in her tone said "no" very abruptly. Obviously disappointed my boyfriend exited the shop as I stood in line to make a purchase. I tried to make small talk with her while I made my purchase, but she still seemed irritated an unamused. After reading the other reviews, it seems as though the owner has horrible customer service. Your customers and word of mouth (platforms like yelp and google reviews) drive your business. Im sure other people will have similar experiences in the months to come and will use this platform to speak their truth. Hopefully, she looks these reviews over and self reflects...but she probably wont. I really enjoyed going to that store, but I might have to look elsewhere for my consignment needs.... read more

I have been here quite a few times, I love the set up and the endless stream of unique things to treasure hunt thru. It's a house converted in a shop, has been there for a long time, it seems. Prices are ok, not too cheap and not too pricey, and the times I've been in, the ladies were very friendly and personable. I am big on customer service, that's what gets me, I never had a bad experience here. You can spend a whole afternoon camping there, they have a great section for gardening props. I as in there for a couple hrs, shopping, last time I was in. It is conveniently on 4th St in LBC, which is a great lil shopping street, interspersed with fun restaurants, cool boutiques, even a few thrift stores, plenty antique stores too. read more

This store was my favorite place to shop on 4th street until today. I've purchased here many times and glad I walked out empty handed this afternoon. I saw a denim jacket in one of the rooms off of the outdoor area and there was a mirror in front of me. I held the jacket up to my chest and decided to quickly tried it on. I looked over to my right and the owner kept looking at me with a sour nasty face. She approached me after I put the jacket back on the hanger and said in a rude tone "I'd prefer you try that on in the fitting room, there are notes all around the store stating this" Now I get it, there are rules to follow but I thought since I was just in the store recently and spent a good amount of money she would have had a recognized me especially since we had a friendly conversation the last time. Also was that quick try on such a big deal? I have been in this store many times and have not noticed these signs. I told her I didn't see the signs and apologized. She continued with her rotten face and didn't say anything to me after I apologized. She just began to watch me around the store. So uncomfortable I just left! I feel that she overreacted. I get it you have rules, but there could have been a nicer way to explain this to me especially since I apologized. She could have said "would you like a fitting room" duh! Custom service is so important and I have other options on 4th street and beyond. Environment and vibes are everything! Also if you notice every negative review calls out how rude and nasty the owner is. So owner if you are reading this, word gets around. I am a HUGE supporter of local businesses and fairly new to LB. When I come across local stores I like to pop in, meet the owner, purchase something and or grab a business card depending on parking and my time. On my way to the grocery store today I found myself at a traffic light on 4th street and noticed this vintage indoor/outdoor home goods store. If you know LB you are well aware of how horrible parking is here so I attempted to park behind a truck leaving my car about 2-3 feet in front of the stores driveway leaving plenty of room for anyone to get in or out of said driveway. Mid-park, I heard someone almost yelling "you cant park there it's a drive way". I look out of my passenger window and there is a woman standing at my window with items in her hands who was saying this to me. I said, "okay thank you" just thinking she was maybe someone who was shopping there. I continued to park as I just wanted to pop inside, grab a business card and hours for today. This same woman (white, blonde, heavy set, wearing glasses) came back up to my car this time literally screaming at me "DON'T BLOCK MY DRIVE WAY"!! I said to her, I just wanted to come in quickly for store hours and she yelled "11-7 NOW MOVE YOUR CAR"! I was appalled and said to her actually I came here to support your business and now would never shop here. This woman (the owner) then yells at me "I DON'T WANT PEOPLE LIKE YOU SHOPPING HERE ANYWAY"! And yes, she said this to a young black woman. I was so stunned all I could do was stare at her with my mouth opened. She continued yelling into my passenger car window about how people like me don't follow the rules and when I told her to get away from my car she said she could block me in and call the police. I have never in my life been treated this way and do not understand why a business owner would want to harass potential customers outside of her business in front of other customers. I was literally trembling from this experience and will inform everyone I know, including "people like me" as she yelled into my car about this awful experience. On my way home from the grocery store, I drove by and of course saw 2 (white) men parked in front of the same driveway! She was standing outside of their car smiling and chatting with them. If you ARE NOT supporter of racism, please DO NOT SHOP HERE! read more

I've been coming to Casa De Luxe at least once a month just because you never know what gems you will find. I haven't experienced any rudeness that some reviewers have had and I had even ask them if we could block their driveway as long as we are patrons and I was told that it was okay. At the register there is a sign that states there is no returns or no refunds so inspect your items carefully. For me, this is a great shop. read more

We approached the VW bus on the sidewalk and turned into what seemed at first like an outdoor furniture/antique business. A voice spoke to us, (not, hi, welcome) and sternly told us to bring our shopping bags inside. Still not seeing the person, we asked where the entrance door was. Again, the stern matronly voice told us it was around the corner. Hmmm it becomes obvious that the woman (round, blonde with glasses and hat) assumes we are going to take something?! Wow. At this point in our shopping day, we had each spent upward of $300 and had bought something from every lil store we went into. Sometimes we bought something, not because we needed it, but because the shop keeper was just so nice and helpful. After a couple more simple exchanges such as, "any idea what size this is?" With responses such as "no, I don't know (again with the rude tone!), we left and will NEVER hit up this business again, nor will we EVER recommend shopping here. AND, every store we went into afterward, we bought more gifts and fun things and shared our experience at this store. Super cute store with a really great selection of unique finds. Unfortunately, they are little strict on their return policy - no returns are allowed and there are no signs posted letting you know this is the case. I live on 3rd St near the 4th Street Corridor of vintage shops and boutiques. I noticed this new store which opened up called Casa De Luxe. Buyer beware! Check out everything carefully before you buy it! The store lighting was not so great and I bought two framed art pieces. When I got home I noticed one of them was speckled in white paint, like a person painting too close with a roller. I called and spoke to the owner and she was rude and said no exchanges or returns. All I wanted was to have a store credit and bring them back.she refused and hung up on me. I tried to tell her she is s new business and should be flexible. She refused to even listen to me. Bought the most amazing chairs and a bar tray for a very reasonable price. The owners are very helpful and nice people to talk to, they even offered us a water bottle while walking around. Beautiful selection of antiques, the rooms are set up in such a classy way. I could get lost in there for hours. I love the way the shop is, it's huge!
