We had high hopes. We visit Burgerville every time we go over the pass in Gresham and have always loved it. Went today to the new location in Bend. What a waste of money. Stale bun and cold burger, cold enough that the cheese was just a slice of cheese as if it had just come out of the fridge. Hope you can get the staff trained properly and up your game before the health dept. shuts (food temp hold issues, supposed to be 140°F at a minimum) you down and Killer Burger kills any chance you have of recovery. Their November nurger was nasty. Had full blown garlic cloves tossed onto the burger instead of garlic aioli like the menu said. Inedible and disgusting. Will not be eating the burgers ever again. A friend and I recently checked out the newly opened Burgerville in Bend. It's still a bit chaotic, but I'm confident they'll smooth things out with time. The burger was better than expected. My friend agreed. They were tasty and satisfying, though not quite a "destination" burger. I had the Cowboy sliders. The standout was definitely the onion rings. They were huge, crunchy, and full of flavor. Easily the best part of my meal. The strawberries at the bottom made it a challenge to drink. The strawberry shake had thick blobs floating around like a poorly executed boba tea. I ended up binning most of these. The restaurant, both inside and out, was very clean. While the staff seemed overwhelmed and a few mistakes were made, everyone was friendly and clearly trying their best. Even with the frenetic busy environment, we had a table before our food came out. I found some coupons online for the soft opening on Saturday. I was expecting a zoo, but my wife said they seemed pretty organized when she went to pick up lunch during our assigned window. She said the food came out pretty quickly and when we looked through everything, the order was prepared correctly. We ordered 4 meals with different entrees, drinks, shakes, etc. The burger was just ok. I upgraded mine to a 1/2 lb patty. It looks like they just stick two 1/4 lb patties together on the griddle. Mine was cooked to medium, although I didn't request it like that lol! Fries were decent, no better/worse than most fast-food fries. Everybody agreed it was just kinda ok. The fries, fried pickles, and shakes seemed to be the highlights - not good if you're a burger spot lol. The real surprise is when they gave my wife the receipt. I purchased 4 meal coupons at $5/each and my wife paid another $4 at the restaurant, so we were in for $24. The receipt included the amount of the original prices. Those 4 meals would have run us $93!!! We upgraded most burgers to 1/2 lb and multiple drinks to milkshakes, but still - $93 is way too much to spend on a fast-food burger lunch. Very friendly dining room staff. Not much wait if you go at an off-peak time like 2 pm. The fries are pretty good when you eat them right away. My kids got the double cheeseburger and the colossal burger and they thought they were really good. I got the northwest burger on a gluten free bun. As a self-proclaimed foodie and decent cook, I am not as easily impressed. I thought it was bizarre the cheese was slapped on there cold? Does anyone like that? If they do, it is probably a minority and those people should be requesting cold cheese and melted should be the default. And the patty really looked like it came from frozen. I don't even know where to start with Burgerville. First of all, we ordered TWO LARGE meals. Somehow that turned into regular sizes -- and no one bothered to double-check the order. For $40, I expect at least the correct size, not kiddie portions that leave you still hungry. Speaking of $40... how are two basic meals that expensive? The bags felt practically empty. Tiny fries, regular drinks instead of large, and burgers that looked like they shrank in the wrapper. If I'm paying sit-down restaurant prices, I shouldn't feel like I need to hit a drive-thru somewhere else afterward. And the wait? 25 minutes. For fast food. There wasn't even a rush that justified it. Just standing around watching employees move at glacial speed while our "large" (not large) meals sat somewhere in limbo. The burger patty tasted lukewarm and drier like it was sitting there. Not juicy at all. The sauce on it was alright. The bun on one of them had a crumbly texture. The large fries wasnt large at all. Both times I've been disappointed and have resolved that with the plethora of good burger places in Bend I will not be spending my hard earned bucks at Burgerville. Good food. Love the shakes. Unfortunately they don't always give you what you're ordering. Got a burger and it had no lettuce. Another time ordered half a pound and paid for it, but got the smaller size. You don't know until you get home. Costs more than a McDonald's or Burger King, and you'd think they'd make it right. When going they are not slammed and it still is made wrong. Enjoy the food, just wish it had what you think you're getting. read more

I have been loving Burgerville since they opened the walk up in Vancouver Wa when I was a kid in the early 1970s. Then we got one in Camas in early 80s So understand I am a big fan of the food. Not to mention, I took two small boys to get an average size lunch, and it cost to swell over $50. Drive-thru experience is always a bit of a gamble. Tonight I ordered a hazelnut hot fudge sundae... which magically transformed into a regular sundae by the time I got home (no hazelnut--just vibes).
